[music] >> Hi everyone and welcome. My name is Tanya Gider. I'm an NFC product marketing for ST Microelectronics. I'm here today to present you our demo regarding Matter commissioning using NFC. To commission any Matter over Wi-Fi or over Thread devices to ease the pain point of commissioning a new device on a Matter network. As you may know, commissioning can be a real pain point for end user when adding a new device to their Matter ecosystem. It can take time. It can requires many retry and can be unstable. That's why today I would like to introduce the NFC technology to show you the commissioning of any Matter over Wi-Fi and over Thread device. Now, I will show you how it works. First, I tap the device on the NFC antenna using my mobile phone. And we can see all the first steps of the commissioning flow. Then the credential are passed to the wireless MCU to finish the commissioning. We can see here the device is now commissioned on the Matter network. If I close the app, I can see the green symbol symbolizing a light device commissioned on the Matter network. Now, I will show you how it works with a battery-less device. First, I scan the device with a mobile phone and over NFC the first part of the commissioning flow is done completely battery-less. Now, I power the device. And then the rest of the commissioning flow can be done over Thread. Now, you can see the device is now commissioning on the Matter network. And here, you can see a new device on my devices list and if I click on it I can control the device. We switch on and switch off the light. As you could see, the NFC technology is the perfect technology to commission a new device on a Matter network. It's stable. It's very quick and very convenient from a user experience point of view.
