Hey, I'm Anfa. Welcome to the introduction tutorial to Material Maker. MaterialMaker is a free and open-source parametric or procedural texture generation program. So, what it does is it creates shaders. Shaders are programs that are executed on your graphics card for every point on the screen. So pixel simplifying and by stacking these shaders in different combinations you can create various patterns. If you want um examples, you can do things like load materials from a website. And here you have a a browser of materials made by various people, myself included, that you can download from the website and inspect, see what is inside, how is it made. That's one of the best ways to learn. For example, you can of course do um normal things, but you can also do crazy things like an animated fireball. Um, and yes, you can export this to a game engine and have this run. Uh, that's exactly what I've done for lib blast. I made a a different but animated fireball which is now an explosion. So material maker is incredibly powerful and one of the best ways to learn it I think is to go to file and do load material from website. Browse things here. I'm going to see if I can search by my name. No. Okay. But um we can find some some stuff I made. example. Yeah, I made two blats blot stains. So, if I double click, I think it's going to load. Yes. Mhm. And there we go. It's our blood stain. Now, this was created in a much older version of Material Maker, so it might not look exactly as expected in the 3D preview. but more or less does the job. Okay, so first things first, navigation. I'm using mouse wheel to zoom in and out in the canvas and I'm using mouse wheel to zooming in in the preview. If you'd like a more tangible example, well, all of this is textured using material maker. All of these textures are made in material maker. Well, with small exceptions like the some of them are baked in blender, but all this is material maker pretty much, including this smoke and fire. and including this which is an animated um computer. Well, the texture that drives these animations has been generated in material maker. It's a it's a it's an interesting topic but not a topic for this video here. Here I'm just want to So every single one of these has a different pattern. As you can see, these are not copy pasted. They're using different patterns. And you can see that the dots are animating, but they're not just totally random. They're like there's correspondence between dots, there's correspondence between rows. Like they're they're distinguishable patterns. It's kind of looks like Pac-Man from far away. Oh, but yeah. Well, these stripes are made in Inkscape that that I can give you. But this is material maker.
