Marvels D23 Avengers Doomsday & VisionQuest Trailers + X-MEN CASTING! | Storm
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The hosts of the video provide a comprehensive reaction to recent announcements from Marvel Studios following D23 events, focusing primarily on new trailers for *Avengers: Doomsday* and *VisionQuest*, alongside major casting reveals for an upcoming X-Men film. In their discussion of *VisionQuest*, they analyze how the trailer depicts Vision's internal struggle with Ultron residing within his mind, suggesting a narrative where he must free himself to save humanity while grappling with lost memories and family dynamics. While one host initially expressed skepticism about revisiting this storyline given previous films like *WandaVision* and *Agatha All Along*, both agree that the concept of exploring Vision's consciousness offers rich storytelling potential, ultimately leading them to anticipate the film despite their earlier reservations about its premise.
The conversation then shifts to the highly anticipated X-Men project, where Marvel has unveiled a star-studded cast list designed to bring iconic characters back with fresh interpretations. The hosts express particular excitement over Maya Boyd being cast as Storm, praising her vibrant energy and noting that while she is making her feature film debut in this role, her background in stage productions suggests strong potential. They also discuss the casting of Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, and Indie Navaratte as Rogue, with each host offering their thoughts on how these actors fit into established character histories and fan expectations, particularly regarding Storm's powerful weather-controlling abilities and her complex relationships within the MCU.
Beyond immediate releases, the video concludes with a speculative look at future Marvel projects scheduled to emerge after *Avengers: Secret Wars*. The hosts construct a "Top 10" list of anticipated films, confidently predicting sequels for *Deadpool*, *Spider-Man*, and likely *Doctor Strange* based on box office performance, while also confirming the development of a standalone Nova movie. They debate the likelihood of other potential titles such as *Fantastic Four* sequels or an Inhumans film but ultimately settle on *Wolverine vs. Hulk* as a probable addition to their list, acknowledging that distribution rights issues might prevent it from carrying both names in the title. Throughout the segment, they maintain an enthusiastic tone about the expanding Marvel universe and invite viewers to share their own predictions for upcoming cinematic releases.

What's going on everyone? We are back.
Be Avery and Lamont. And if you are
aware, D23
was last night. Marvel Studios dropped a
lot of content. We saw the trailer for
Vision Quest, a newer trailer for
Avengers Doomsday, and also the X-Men
casting. But Lamont over here, uh, I
found out has not seen the trailer yet.
That is correct, sir. Right. You You
haven't seen the trailer?
>> I haven't seen nothing because folks, I
thought it was Saturday.
>> Blasphemous. Blasphemous. Okay, let's go
ahead and watch the trailer right now.
Uh, Lamont, let me know. Oh, you can't
see. Let me actually bring you up
properly, sir.
Okay, there we are. I apologize. My bad.
All right, Lamont, let me know what you
think about the trailer and give me a
thumbs up if you can hear this.
>> Okay.
>> Before you started working here, I
remember when you'd come in all the time
with that red head.
>> I was a different person back then.
How about now?
Anyone waiting for you tonight?
>> No,
I miss
just me.
>> Who am I? I was an Avenger.
But I'm not a hero anymore. I have his
face, but not his virtue. All I have is
his name.
>> Welcome home, Vision.
>> This house is [music] getting crowded.
Vision.
>> Ultron. Human avatars only.
>> Sir, I cannot overstate the dangers of
keeping him around.
>> Yes, but he is a
>> dad papa people.
I'm a stranger to myself.
>> That family wasn't real.
>> You sure about that?
>> I had a father. A machine
called Vision.
>> Muzzle. It's a boy.
>> How is this possible?
Free us all and save your son.
>> I wish to understand my purp
with a [music] genocidal maniac inside
your head.
>> Nothing bonds a family together quite
like mortal jeopardy.
All right, Lamont, what do you um Hold
on. What you think, sir?
>> It look like I'm going have to do too
much thinking.
>> What?
>> Um yeah, I sometimes I don't want to
have to think. I don't want to have to
use my big brain sometimes.
And for a character that's not going to
be moving forward in the MCU after this,
h it looks like I'm going to have to do
too much thinking. I do like the fact
that Ultron is in his brain. Um is this
vision without the the mind stone? It
looks like that that is that too. But it
looks like I'm going to have to do more
thinking to put the story together than
what I would like to for a character
we're not using anymore. So I mean I'mma
watch it, but I'm not excited for it.
Boo.
Tomato, tomato, tomato. Hold on. What?
First of all, why are you making the
assumption that we're not going to see
this character anymore? How do you know?
>> Well, in even in that trailer, it says,
"Get ready for the last vision." So, I'm
assuming this the last vision is this
vision, and we're not going to get any
more vision unless I don't I don't think
they're going to pluck him out of a
different timeline.
>> No, he can stay in this one. And maybe
that's just to lead us on or to trick
us. Okay. Maybe it's just another banana
in the tail pipe. Mind you, I think that
we're going to see a lot more Vision. He
may pop up in Doomsday and or Secret
Wars and after that as well. I'm happy
that James Sper is back. We get to see
him in his human form and the Ultron
form. Great actor, great performance.
But there was a key point of dialogue in
there where he said, "Free us all and
save your son." That could be Ultron uh
trying to pull a Uno reverse card and
manipulate or or no manipulate Vision
say, "Hey, free us all." That could just
be Ultron wanting to get out so he can
wreck havoc again because when they in
defeated him in Age of Ultron 2, you
they maybe thought he deleted them him,
but this is the uh the the last uh
remaining um um part of his
consciousness or his mind, and he wants
to get out and reign terror again. So
that's I didn't even catch that the
first two times I saw the trailer, but
watching it here with you, I'm like, I
bet that's uh um Ultron trying to trick
him and get out so he can destroy or
rule the world. Um this is I did really
enjoy Wanda Vision. I really did enjoy
Agatha all alone. This is the sequel to
the both of those. So this is a trilogy
to kind of wrap up that story. Um also I
just like the concept in itself like
we're inside of his mind. So, it's kind
of endless with how much story they can
tell and how they can tell it, you know,
because it's someone's imagination. It's
inside their head or their
consciousness. So, I just think that's
kind of cool. I like the effects. Um, I
wasn't, even though I like Wander Vision
and Agatha all along, this wasn't
anything that I was excited about, but
after seeing the trailer, man, I'm
really anticipating this. And then my
expectations were super low with Wonder
Wonderman. I mean, they were
non-existent and that kind of blew me
away. So, I don't know, man. I feel
completely different than you. Uh, but I
I'm feeling this right here.
>> Well, let me be honest here. Um,
maybe I should have watched some of the
things you mentioned because we did
reviews of W division. You know, we was
we was geeked up every single weekend
for that show. That show, I mean, we had
huge panels. It was me, you, Larry, um,
>> um,
>> One Tape, Big Dog, sometimes Eman like
we was hyped for that show.
>> Yes.
>> And after that, man. Yeah. After that, I
kind of lost interest in some of the
spin-off. I didn't watch Agatha all
along. I didn't have any interest in it.
I didn't watch Wonderman. Didn't have
any, but I keep hearing everybody say
both of those shows were fantastic.
Well, so you have some homework to do
before Vision Quest comes out or at
least Doomsday. So, go ahead and uh
knock that out, sir. But speak about
Doomsday, let's go ahead and switch over
to that right there. Uh they dropped a
new trailer as well. Um you know, they
this is the original poster that they
had and they uh this is the more recent
poster, but this is one that uh dropped
yesterday. But Lamont, um, we have a new
trailer and so, uh, should we check it
out?
>> Yes, we should.
>> And I'm You haven't seen that one
either, correct?
>> Nope.
>> All right, let's do it.
>> Victor was always the smartest guy in
every room.
>> He used to be different.
He used to be kind. He used to be
caring.
>> And that base,
Magneto, Gambit.
>> And then
>> Steve,
>> everything he loved was taken from him.
I knew he was lost, but I did not
realize
that he was broken.
Victor,
did you do this?
All of you
have lived
stolen lives,
but now you must give them back. Answer
me, VICTOR. DID YOU DO THIS?
>> I swear you will beg for hell long
before I grant it.
[groaning]
>> Hell answers to me.
For I am
doom.
>> Yeah.
Took the glasses off on them.
>> [laughter]
>> Oh
>> Yeah. [laughter]
Oh
lord,
[laughter] folks.
>> It's going down.
>> I've been waiting for this moment
because they've been playing koi with
what Victor would be able to do, his
motivations. But I can tell you right
now, when you lose someone you love and
the child you create,
I don't care how good of a person you
are, vengeance and the pain you're
feeling just gets rid of loss. It gets
rid of humanity out of you. And the way
they broke down how he has lost his
humanity because he lost the people he
loved. And you see this man going to a
chair, his throne, and he's got his wife
and his kids sitting above him that he's
looking at every day that he can't love
and touch and kiss. Oh, there's some ass
whipping going on. Okay. And then him to
raise Sentinels from the dead after he
basically whips Thor's ass. Folks, this
is gonna be some good Okay. Yeah,
man. you know, and I've been I've been
in some good stuff, and this is going to
be some good stuff.
>> Yeah, man. It's going down. Um I I I
can't wait. I think I've um I mean, and
if if I'm able to see it early, thank
you, Marvel, Disney, Lord Jesus Christ,
God, everybody. Thank you. But um I
still bought three tickets already. Um
no, maybe you got the tickets.
>> Yeah, I've I've I've bought my I wish I
can get them in IMAX, man. But, you
know, they competing with u I said
Doomsday with Doom 3 and um you know,
I'm I'm doing the Dbox Infinity thing
and so but that kind of sucks. But um I
hope I get to see it in the 65mm IMAX,
but it's going down. Also, Lamont, are
you going to be seeing Avengers Encore
that they release in was it se next
month? They're re-releasing Endgame, but
they going to add like eight additional
minutes to link it up with Doomsday
specifically.
I'm gonna watch it because because I you
know the money from that is going to add
to making that pro possibly the the
biggest film of all time. I went and did
the research on that. That doesn't
change just because they're adding
minutes to it. So yeah, I'm going to go
see it, man. Like I enjoyed it. I could
go see it again. I love the way it felt
in the movie theater. And you know, I
guess we're gonna have to do another
reaction to that, too. I'm definitely
going to see that.
>> Yes, sir. It's going down. It's going
down. It's going down. Something else is
going down. Uh Lamont,
uh let me uh
I thought I had this picture up right
here, but you know that we had um what
what is what is the name of that folder
that has that uh picture in it? Okay, I
don't think I'm going to be able to find
it in time, but uh you know, we had San
Diego Comic-Con a couple of weeks ago.
Uh then we are now then we had D23 last
night. Um they announced a number of
things. They made some announcements
last night as well. We just talked
Vision Quest. We just talked about uh
Avengers Doomsday. Uh but now we got to
talk about the X-Men man. Um they have
cast X-Men. I have this from Variety.
X-Men movies cast Indie Navati uh
Navarati or Navared I'm butchering that
name as Rogue Christopher Abbott as
Professor X Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister
and Maya Boyd as Storm. And if you want
to know what uh let's go ahead and bring
this first one up right here. Lamont,
this is going to be our Storm right
here. Miss Maya Boyd. I have never heard
of this sister before, but just off of
first glance, first take, first look, I
think she looks great. I think she looks
fantastic. I think she looks young and
vibrant, and uh I'm feeling good things.
Now, I if they would have just asked me,
I would have wanted somebody maybe a
little bit darker, but I'm I'm not going
to make a big deal about it. I I think
this is this is wonderful right here.
Um, again, this is her profile right
here on IMDb. Maya Boyd is known for
Untitled Marvel's X-Men film 2028,
Deadbeat 2023, and the Broadway show
with Tamson Fidel in 2021. Not much
there because if we scroll down and look
at her from um she has done nothing. She
did a short film in 2023 and 2028 will
be um her her feature film debut. And so
with the little information that we do
have so far uh Lamont with Storm being
such a popular character in comics and
Marvel uh in the fandom geekdom
community, especially in the black
community,
um how are you feeling about this
casting? What what are your thoughts? Uh
let us know, sir. Let us know.
This was a complete financial move
because there are so many talented black
actresses they could have got to play
Storm that wanted to play Storm. They
went and got someone who I've seen that
short film that um you mentioned. And I
mean it's hard to get a a determination
on someone just off of a short film.
But, uh, in terms of the the other
things you would want to have with
Storm, beauty, grace, power, um,
charisma, I think this young lady has
got it. We just got to see how her story
pans out. And we also got to remember
this. She is gonna have a pivot
pivotable role in the next Black Panther
movie because for those that don't
remember, Tchala and Storm also had a
relationship in the MCU and Storm wound
up whipping um Niia's butt at one point
in time and in the comics. So, I'm
interested to see how this plays. And
you know, with the Black Panther we're
going to get being the son of Niia,
they'll probably be able to skip the
black-on-black violence in that film and
just have these two get together. So,
we'll see how it plays. And then there
was a story one time where Storm and
Tala was fighting each other and Tchala
was about to get his Black Panther ass
kicked by Storm. Because folk, make no
mistake, Storm can control her mutant
powers give her the ability to not only
control the weather. She can control
cosmic weather, meaning she can go on
the moon and control solar flares and
all that good stuff. No matter where you
take Storm, if she can breathe, she can
control the weather. So, I'm interested
to see how powerful they make her
because she is one of the most powerful.
>> Right on. Right on. Right on. Um, I
agree. Uh, just a little bit more
information on her. Maya Boyd was born
November 26, 2022. My fault. Hold on.
Let me let me bring you back up. I done
pulled the wrong thing. There you go,
Lamar. My fault. Uh, she began her
career performing in stage productions
while attending college before making
her Broadway debut. In 2026, she was
cast as Aurora Monroe Storm. Um like I
think you mentioned money and finances
at the very beginning. Yeah. Um I can
imagine she's never done anything
before. So she's very inexpensive and um
you know they want somebody even if it
is successful and people are going to be
demanding raises. Excuse me. You can
only do so much. Uh if this is kind of
like your first um feature. So and I'm
I'm not mad at that. That's that's
smart. You know it has to make business
sense too. I I probably would do the
same thing. But again man uh this is our
storm. Um, I don't know this woman, but
I am not mad about this at all. Uh, I am
I am uh I'm I'm happy. I'm happy. And so
you guys uh let us know your thoughts
down in the uh comments section below.
Uh we also got some other official
casting and that is Kit Connor as
Cyclops. Uh Kit Connor Cyclops. I don't
know much about him as well, Lamont. Uh
but this is what the gentleman u this is
what his IMD IMDb looks like. How you
feeling about uh this guy right here,
Kit Connor, uh as Cyclops?
>> I don't know nothing about him either. I
mean, he looks the part, but I mean, you
put any red head on a white guy and put
shades on him and as women would say,
they hating. He'd be red head fishing.
So, I mean, I've I don't know his work.
I think he'll do the job. Marvel really
and truly hasn't disappointed me in
hardly any of their casting. So, I'm
thinking he's gonna he's going to play
the role well.
>> Okay. Okay. Um, how you feeling about
Mr. Adam Driver um as the sinister?
>> As M. I said the sinister. Mr. Sinister.
>> I'm really loving this because Adam
Driver plays a great bad guy. Some of
y'all might remember him from the Star
Wars and his roles in that. Um, him as
Mr. Sinister is going to be a sinister
ass Mr. Sinister and [clears throat]
there was one comic run where Sinister
and Mafisto teamed up and we all seen
who they have playing Misto. So I would
love to see us get a little bit of Misto
kind of cameo and with Adam Driver and
those two guys put together on screen.
This is going to be some and remember
>> Mr. Sinister is one of the seminal
villains of the X-Men and what he's
going to try to do with gene splicing is
going to be fantastic. So, I can't wait
to see this and see it put together and
want to know what direction of story
they're going to go in. But Adam Driver,
no matter where you go, him as a bad guy
is going to work.
>> Right on. Right on. Sorry, I had to
switch over to Captain America and
Captain Planet real quick. Okay. Okay.
Now, um, we also have Samara Weaving as
Emma Frost. Um, how are you feeling
about this casting right here, sir?
>> F probably the best of all of them. I
mean, for real.
>> Yes, man. I love me some Great Value
Margot Robbie. And you need when you
when you're talking about who she's
going to be playing, she's going to be
playing someone who has psychic
abilities, who falls in love with
Cyclops, but can't have them because of
Jean and is pro. And through the years,
they've made this character a bad guy
when she was in the um I forgot the name
of that group of society that they play
in, but she was a bad guy. Then she
winds up realizing the era, her ways.
Then she becomes an X-Men. And in order
to compete with Jean Gray, you've got to
have someone hot. And Samara Weaving
looks like a temptress. And to play the
role that she's going to be playing to
try to lure Cyclops away from Jean Gray,
you've got to be hot. And she is hot.
And the powers of this lady she's going
to be playing is fantastic. So you've
got to have that element of it. And
Samara Weaving is a great actress, too.
So, I love I think this is probably one
of the two best castings of everybody.
It's just that they spent a whole lot of
money on everybody else and then they
had the dick Storm, but it's all good.
>> That's interesting. Y'all let us know
what y'all think about that uh that
casting as well. All right. Now, uh I
butchered her name a ton. Uh hopefully I
can get it correct. Uh we have the
casting for Rogue as well. She was the
main actress in Obsession, Inde Navarat.
Okay, I am thrilled with this. I just
recently saw Obsession.
I thought she did a fantastic job. I
think this is perfect casting. Uh what
do you think, sir?
>> I'm right with you. She did a fantastic
job in Obsession. And I've seen her in I
think it was Ray Donovan. Y'all audience
help me. It was Ray Donovan. One of
those Showtime shows. She did. I mean,
she's great everywhere she goes. She
deserves to be paid, too, cuz this chick
can act her butt off. She's fine. Um,
she's powerful. And when they give her
that hair color, folks, she's going to
knock the rogue thing out the park. I'm
just wondering, would they give a
backstory of her stealing powers from um
uh Miss Marvel, Captain Marvel, excuse
me?
>> That Yeah, that. And also, will she have
some accent as well? Some thick accent,
or you think they're going to shy away
from that?
No, they got to do the accent. Like
that's germaine to the character. Like
you got you got to have the accent.
>> Okay. Okay. Okay. I got you. Y'all let
us know what y'all think about this
casting right here as well. Indie uh
Navarante. She has been cast as Rogue.
And last but not least, Lamont, we have
Christopher Abbott as Professor Xavier.
Um I don't know this guy either, but um
this is what he looks like. This is his
IMDb. Um, if we scroll down, um, this is
his filmography. Um, are you familiar
with him? He was in Craven the Hunter.
So, how you feeling about Mr.
Christopher Abbott?
>> Well, because of people like you and
others that I trust with movie and TV
reviews, I never saw Craven the Hunter,
and it sounds like I did a good job and
not going to watch the show. I I don't
know much about this actor either, but
like I said, I tend to trust Marvel.
They've done a good job. The only thing
I want to know is who's going to play
Magneto on his level.
>> Yeah. Yeah, that's what I want to know,
too. Uh I'm I'm very curious on that. Um
that hasn't been cast yet. Uh but that's
that's who we have, sir. We have uh this
is our Storm. This is our Professor X.
This is our Emma Frost. This is our
Rogue. This is our uh Mr. Sinister. And
this is our Cyclops right there. And I'm
thrilled. I don't think that um I don't
think I left anybody out. So um that
that that that would suck um if I did.
And so hold on. Let me let me where is
it? Where you at? Let me So
hold on. That's that's Rogue. Hold on.
Did I miss somebody? I think I did.
Uh
cuz that's So we got Storm. Oh, Jean
Gray. Jean Gray is U. But she, everybody
knew she was Jean Gray from um right
from what you call it from Spider-Man uh
back in the day.
>> Strange and she was from Stranger
Things, too.
>> Yeah. Yeah. So, yeah. Okay. Okay. Well,
I I'm excited about that, man. And so,
um real quick, let me see if I can bring
this up. Uh where what folder is that
in?
Okay, come on. B think it's in reviews.
Is it
what folder? I had a list of um all of
the Marvel stuff that's coming out after
um
after Avengers uh Secret Wars.
And
wow, I'm trying to bring it up right
now, but I can't. So, I'm just going to
uh have to Oh, here it is. Right here.
It just popped up on me magically. So,
this is
>> this is this is good. So, let me cut
over here real quick. Okay. And let me
let me get rid of uh this right here.
So, this is my top 10 for what's going
to come out uh after uh Secret Wars.
Okay. So, we know Black Panther 3 is
coming because they already announced
that. Uh we know that Ghost Rider is
coming and we know that X-Men is coming
as well um because they just uh released
the cast. So Kevin Feige
also uh confirmed that they are
developing a Nova movie. Kevin Feige
confirmed in July 2026 is officially
developing Nova as a feature film
instead of a Disney Plus television
series. Okay, so based on that, it's
safe to say that we're going to have a
Nova movie as well. Okay, now let's do
common sense.
Uh, I think that we're going to have a
Deadpool 4. Ryan Reynolds did show up at
San Diego Comic-Con in the costume and
Hugh Jackman mentioned him last night at
D23 as well. And so, and it made $1.3
billion worldwide. So, why would you not
have a Deadpool 4. Okay. Next is
Spider-Man 5. Not only is Sony
contractually obligated to have a
Spider-Man film every two years, this
film right here is about to cross $2
billion in less than two weeks. So why
would you not have a Spider-Man 5. Do
you agree or disagree with any of this?
>> Everything is spot on on this list.
Everything.
>> Okay. And Ghost Ghost Rider is kind of
replacing um um Blade because you
remember there was all this talk about
how we was going to get the Midnight
Suns. Ghost Rider was going to be in it.
Blade was going to be in it. Really, the
persons whose story the Midnight Suns
originated from was Ghost Rider. He was
kind of the leader of the team. But now
that they done signed Ryan Goslin to be
Ghost Rider, it just sounds natural. So
definitely we getting a Ghost Rider
film.
>> Yep. Yep. Yep. Now, um, these may not be
obvious to you, uh, but I still think
it's a good fair chance that we're going
to get this based off of the money that
it made in theaters, and that is Doctor
Strange 3.
Um, popular character, important
character, and, uh, it made, I think,
$955 million worldwide. And so, you
know, that's why I think that we're
going to get a Doctor Strange 3. Uh but
you know how you can let me know if you
agree or disagree there. Now the next
few are wild cards. Okay. Um
I do think
that we or what do you what do you think
we going to get? Let me let me pass to
you real quick before I continue.
>> We getting another Thor movie.
>> Okay. Just
>> go ahead and you know bank on that. Uh
>> cuz they had Hercules at the end in the
postredit scene and also Jane Foster and
Himndale in um uh I forgot the place
that it was called um their their
version of the afterlife. Um so that
that does make sense to me as well.
>> Yeah, Valhalla.
>> There you go. There you go. Now also
Lamont, they just had a movie last year.
You think we'll get a Fantastic 4
sequel?
It only made 500 million worldwide.
So,
you think we'll get that?
>> I I don't think we're getting another
one of them.
>> Really? Okay.
>> No. But I don't think they made that
movie to try to make a lot of money
anyway. So, I don't think we're going to
get another one of them.
>> Okay. So, we're going to take Fantastic
42 off. Okay. Now, since we're get So,
in Marvel comics on Earth, there are
three uh there's three human species.
the humans, us mutants, X-Men, but also
Inhumans. Since we're getting X-Men, do
you think we're going to get Inhumans,
too? They should be treated with the
same level of respect. No. No Inhumans.
No. Okay. Okay.
>> We're not getting a Marvel Inhuman
movie. Nope.
>> Shang Chi Tu.
>> We should get it, but the director of
that is too busy. We're not getting that
no time soon.
>> Damn. Okay. Uh, I still think we getting
a Blade movie, but uh because I'm
thinking that those were Mahers Shali's
comments, not Kevin Feige. Why would he
tell us anyway right now? And once
Doomsday and Secret Wars was announced
in 2024,
I think it was the smartest idea to wait
for Blade to come afterwards. But what
do you uh give me two more, man. two
more that you think are going to fill up
the the top 10 since you don't think
it's going to be the Inhumans or Shangi
2 or Fantastic 4 too because those are
my picks
now that we have Mutants and that's able
to open the door to a lot of stories. We
definitely going to get Wolverine versus
Hulk that's coming. Just go ahead and
put that on down there. It'll probably
be Hugh Jackman's last story as
