Video summary

Marco Rose addresses the significant physical challenge posed by the congested fixture schedule, acknowledging that while his squad can initially handle the frequency of playing on both Thursday and Sunday, the cumulative load becomes increasingly demanding over several months. He emphasizes that the coaching staff must make strategic decisions regarding player rotation to ensure everyone remains ready for crucial matches, noting that they will inevitably feel the strain but must stay prepared. Regarding the upcoming match against Liverpool, Rose confirms that there are no new injury concerns as all players have recovered well for the trip to Spain, though he insists the team must go "all in" for the tough opponent before utilizing rotation tactics later in the week to find fresh legs. Reflecting on his team's recent Premier League performances, Rose expresses confidence despite not securing a win yet, arguing that his side has consistently been the better team and dominated possession. He attributes their positive trajectory to their forward-thinking style, high effort, and ability to limit opponents' chances, believing that these qualitative improvements will eventually translate into results if they remain patient. When asked about his personal reaction to disappointing outcomes, Rose admits he does not switch off from football but instead dives straight into analysis the next morning to identify solutions and positive aspects, viewing setbacks as part of daily life that require immediate constructive engagement rather than avoidance. The manager also discusses his transition at the club, praising the players for their rapid adaptation to his tactical system compared to previous approaches under Andoni Iraola. He highlights a warm personal meeting with Iraola prior to his arrival, noting that they shared mutual respect and discussed football and life extensively before focusing on specific club matters. Rose describes the squad as a top team with professional staff who are eager for success, maintaining the front-footed attacking identity he desires while integrating their own specific nuances into the group's play. Finally, Rose touches on individual player developments, specifically addressing the equalizer scored by Georgia Petravic and the form of Marcus Tavernier. He notes that Petravic has accepted his mistake after speaking with the goalkeeper and is now focused on training hard to improve, while expressing great satisfaction with Tavernier's professional attitude and recent goal-scoring contributions. Rose describes Tavernier as a true leader who is reliable in every minute on the pitch and hopes he continues his strong form and stays healthy throughout the season, underscoring the team's collective desire to win games against formidable opponents like Liverpool.

First of all, you've got a lot of players who won't have experienced it before. So, what does playing Thursday, Sunday do to you? How much of a challenge is it likely to be? >> Well, at the beginning, you can you can handle the load and uh and everything around. But uh if you yeah do it um every week um for several months then it's getting uh really demanding and it's up to me up to the coaching staff to uh yeah um make good decisions in terms of who to play, how long to play. Um but at the end um we we going to feel it. We have to feel it and the have to be ready. >> I guess I should ask you team news, but we're very early in the week. Is there is there any point in me asking you any team news for the Liverpool game >> again please? >> Is there any anything you know team newswise for the Liverpool game >> from my team? >> Yes. >> Um nothing new. So every everyone is in a good spot. Everyone is well recovered um for the travel to um to Spain tomorrow and then we going to start to prepare uh Liverpool. So, I'm quite sure that we have to go all in on on Thursday against a tough opponent and um yeah, then as you said, we start to uh to rotate to start to find fresh players and um but so far everything is in a good spot. >> As far as the Premier League goes, you've been ahead in all four games, but not won any of them. How pleased are you with the positives in the performances? How frustrated are you with the results? Yeah, we were not just ahead. We were mostly the better team. Um and that's what um makes me or keeps me positive and confident. If we play the way we played so far, um we increase the chance to to to win games. We have the chances. We give uh less chances mostly away um for for for the opponent. Um it's just about getting more consequent um in both boxes in in a couple of situations. Um but um again the way we play, the direction, the confidence, the the attitude, the effort um all these kind of things are are in a good direction. >> Are you yourself good at being patient? Confident that things will carry on the right way. If you carry on playing like this, things will turn. >> My wife would say I'm I'm not patient. um or my daughter. But I learned to to be patient um because of course we are in a in a in a situation where we should force uh wins. Um uh very important, but um you you can't force us uh with um being unpatient or getting nervous. >> What have you been like at the weekends after matches? Are you a nightmare to be around when you've had a disappointment? Do you switch off from football? Do you dive straight into analysis or do you switch off? Look to escape. What do you do? What do you like? >> Yeah, sometimes uh this, sometimes this. So, uh but uh I never switch off. That's for sure. Um you take all the results always home. Um it uh yeah is part of your of your daily life. Um uh but I got used to it and sometimes it's better um if you have a disappointing game it's from my side mostly the next morning who is uh really hard and and difficult but if I if I go up if I have my coffee if I start to work if I um yeah go in the analyzis um you are looking for um positive things you can do better you are looking for solutions and then um Uh yeah, just keep on going. >> The next game's Liverpool, which means Zandoni Eola comes back to the Vitality Stadium. What what sort of shape did he leave the club in for you? >> In a in a top shape. Um that's what I uh what I knew and um yeah, that's what I um what I got when I when I came here. um a top team um top team around uh top staff um professional everyone everyone keen to work hard to to being successful and I think again we uh we started um yeah with good performances we show um how we want to play what we want to continue um that we want to be a front-footed team a team that is going for goals um sometimes it's really entertaining to to watch us. Um so a lot of things we maintained and um yeah now it's about to getting our own things um into the team. But I think even this you can you can see already. >> Have you has anything surprised you pleasantly the way or the speed at which the players have picked up on your style compared to how they were used to playing under Andoni? >> Yeah, I'm really pleased. Um uh the the leads adapted really fast. Um just some details again in general the approach stays the same but in details some things um yeah are different um in possession out of possession and um yeah I'm really impressed how how fast the lads adapt things and try to to bring it on the pitch. I think you told us in your first press conference that you'd had a chance to have a meeting with Andhoni before he left, before you arrived officially. Can you give us an idea of anything you discussed in that meeting? >> Yeah, we were just happy to to meet each other. We know us from uh yeah TV and games we watch of each other and I think everyone admires the work uh of uh of each other so so far and and um that's why it was a personal talk of course I had some questions about the club about the staff um about um the players so uh as I said we were talking for one hour then came in and needed to stop the talk we could speak for two or three hours more about football, about life. So, it was um uh yeah, really really joy to speak with him and now I'm looking forward to meet him again on uh on Sunday um here in his his old stadium. I think he's getting uh a warm welcome from everyone, but then Bournemos likes to to win the game for sure. >> What sort of team are you likely to come up against? What have you made of Liverpool's start to the season? Well, I I think um they started okay. Um if you are Liverpool, you always going for wins every game. Um you have big goals. Um and that's why I would say not not everyone is really happy with the with the outcome so far. But at the end, it's it's the same like here. It's a small um change adaptations, a new coach, new approach. and you see where they want to go for um you see the the the the approach of of Andoni so far um but at the end it's not my topic my topic is BMOS and to to win the game >> they have so many exceptional players but I guess you know very well how influential Florian Verz can be from his time or your time together in the Bundesliga playing against each other how wary are you of of his threat. We've seen glimpses in the Premier League, perhaps not his best so far. How how dangerous is he? >> He's just a top player and top players can be always dangerous. I mean, he already assists goals, he scored goals. Um, of course, the pressure in the Premier League and if you um spend so much money for a player, it's always on. Um, but he handled it very well. He's still a young player for me. He did um an amazing um improvement in in in Germany and it's his second year now here in the Premier League and I think he he going to show um his his qualities um but in the best case he starts after after our game >> of course. Um just finished picking out two of your players if I can. Georgia Petravvic, how how has he reacted to the equalizer especially at the weekend? really good. Um he know that it was not the best decision. Um that it was an a mistake. Uh we spoke about it. He spoke about it with the goalkeeper. We analyzed um and now we are yeah just moving on and um doing the things better. Train hard um and um yeah he still has the the confidence um to do it better. Um and we support him in in in everything. And at the other end of the pitch, Marcus Taanir has had a tremendous career here at Bournemouth already, but the way he started the season, how pleased are you with with him? >> Well, Tough is tough as a top guy. Um, everyone loves him here. His his attitude um his his quality, he's a he's a funny guy, but uh on the other side, he's a guy who you can count on every every minute on on the pitch. You know what you get. Um he's very professional. Um and yeah, he started to score goals. Very important for us. Um I would love if he continue the next games um in the Premier League and in in the other competitions. We are happy to to have him. He's a he's an real leader for for us, for the club, for the team. And um I hope he stays stays healthy.
