Hi Marco. Obviously, the circumstances of last Sunday's defeat were tough when you've been leading the game for such a long time. Were there enough positives to take from the game? Were you pleased overall with the performance? >> Obviously, we found a a lot of good stuff to to show the lads. But, at the end, it's about the result on the level we play, and we we lost the game because we defended not well enough in in two set situations. So, that means that we have to improve these kind of things. One set piece and and one one box defending situation. We spoke about it. We trained hard. But, as you said, on the other side, we mentioned many good things we we took out of the game. >> And now you get to experience your first game at home, which is something I'm sure you've had circled in the calendar for a long time. >> Yeah, I'm I'm really excited and looking forward to to get to know the atmosphere of the stadium. We just came from the training there. It looked really really good. I like the place, and the pitch is in a in a perfect condition. So, everything is um yeah, sorted to to play the game on Sa- Sa- Saturday. >> Um the situation you're in is is quite quite a unique one. It's not often a manager inherits a winning side and even has sort of period as you did chatting to Andoni about inheriting that side. So, how have you found that coming into a winning dressing room, a dressing room where confidence is already high? >> It's always good for for for a coach in a new start. But, I think we talk about professional players, and um you going to have different faces in your sports career as a coach, as a as a player. And now the lads won or not lost many games in a row. We we we lost Man City away. I think we can handle both situations. Now we are going for for the first win this season. And to get points on the table because that tension you you can feel that we want to want to win our our first game and that's the most important thing for me. >> You've also got what is it now? 5 days left of the transfer window. Do you feel you need to bring any more players given the European you're you're fighting on two fronts this season. If you were to sign no players between now and next Monday, would you be happy enough? >> I said it several times. I feel you're in a really good spot. We we have a competitive team. It's not really really big, but I think we compete on every position with at least two players. And that should be should be enough. So we have to take care about the players, about the load. The players have to show themselves to get on the get on the pitch. So as I said, I feel you I feel us in a in a good spot, in a good situation. So for me it's not necessary to to look for other players. >> And what you've done well this summer is is keep hold of your squad as well. As we sit here now, how confident are you this time next week that Alex Scott will still be a Bournemouth player? >> I'm not just confident, I'm sure. Not just quite sure, I'm I'm sure. >> 100% sure? >> I mean >> [laughter] >> is there 120%? Then I'm sure. >> Yeah, his his body language has been he's fully committed to the club and he's not had his head turned by interest from elsewhere. >> You know, it is what it is. We know this business. He played a top season, but I think even Alex knows what we what he learned Um from this club, what he got from from this club, and that's what he show. We know what we get from him. So, we support him to play another brilliant season. He is keen to play another brilliant season. And then he still young enough to to to big steps because I to be honest, I see no ceiling in in his capabilities. >> Danke schön. >> Gerne. >> Hi Marco. >> Hi. >> You singled out Adam Smith for praise last weekend in how he handled Antoine Semenyo and then I think you were talking to him pitch side after the game. How important is he for you in terms of his experience, his understanding of the culture here, and and how much are you talking to him about everything connected with Bournemouth? >> He's our captain, and that's what I felt from the from the first moment that he takes the responsibility to be a captain. He behaves like a captain. He plays like a captain. He played like a captain in in in Manchester. And yeah, that's why he stays our captain this season. It's not any reason to to discuss about it. I'm yeah, really happy about the situation, but this not just about him. We have a really good group of of players. Um really good leader crew group. So, everything is in a in a good spot, and we have daily daily talks about situations because if you come as a new coach in a new environment in a new country, of course, you will listen to your players. They are very experienced in the league in the country and in the things they already experienced. >> Can I ask you about your team news ahead of the Everton game, please. I think Ryan Christie back from suspension is a big boost for you. Anyone else that comes back? >> Yeah, Ryan Christie's back from the suspension and from his injury. And the other players already were in the squad. No new injuries. So, just the long-term guys. I mean Junior and Velko. >> You said you like stadiums like the Vitality cuz it it's uncomfortable for opposition teams and they only lost twice there last season, Bournemouth. So, how can you build that atmosphere? How can you keep that nature of teams coming there and and not fancying playing against your team? >> We didn't have so many changes. It's just a new manager, but it's a new season. So, we have to prove everything new. And that's the most important thing what we have to know, but the other things stay the same. Our fans are still our our um fans, they are supporting us on a on a top level. That's what we felt in in Manchester and I'm very excited to yeah, get to know the atmosphere in in our home in our home ground. So, it's about our performance, for sure. How we going to show that we want to win this game. And then it's always about connection, interaction. I think we are very proud of our fans and they are proud on the team and we should do anything to keep this connection. >> You've talked about you want your teams to be brave. Can you give me a couple of examples of that like with them without the ball, what what you mean by that bravery? >> Yeah, thinking forward. I mean you could maybe change the word brave with forward. So, that's the same for me. Thinking forward um defense-wise, attacking um try to win balls uh in a high level. Even there we had um a good good numbers in in Manchester. Um I mean, of course you need to defend deep there as well. That's important. You have to find the right balance. Um the thing what we missed in Manchester um on certain ways um was to play forward with the ball. We have finished too often at our goalkeeper when we started in the opponent's half. We showed just one um uh one free kick free kick we had in opponent's half and we ended with Beto. So, that's what I That's what I mean. Playing forward, try to create chances, um threaten the box of the the opponent. >> You mentioned the goalkeeper there. You've You've got another goalkeeper brought in this week, Michele Di Gregorio. Um why did you feel the need to I guess strengthen in that department and and and give more competition? >> It's about competition. We were very uh we were very happy with with Will. Um really good lad. Um we had talks with him about his future. He's now 26, and I think it's an important uh phase in his career to stay a number two for the next five, six, seven years, or going for number one in a in a in another club, and and that's what he's um uh looking for. And that's why we said, "Okay, now we need um another number two." We wish Will all the best. Um he's always welcome here. And um I'm I'm really happy with the signing of Michele because he has experience. He already proved on a top level that he um uh yeah, his performance is is uh top. And he came in um as a very confident person. And as he said, if you're confident, um even Petro said to me, "Coach, I love the competition and it's just a win-win situation for, it seems, everyone, Will, Michaela, and for for for Petro. And we should not forget phrase. >> Finally for me, how big a part do you picture set pieces playing in this game? And how smart do you need to be when defending and also obviously also attacking? >> We conceded the goal after set piece, after corner kick, and we gave, I think, two really good chances away as well in in Manchester. So, we we need to improve this part of the game. We we work on it. It's a process. And of course, Everton has two, I think, two guys more than 190. And it's always a chance to decide the game. So, we need to take care. We need to be ready. But it's not just about defending. We also want to score goals out of set pieces. And again, that's what we are working on.
