Mantic Games | Ronnie's Update: Kings of War and Warpath Universe | Plus - Crowdfunding News
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
Mantic Games is set to release a significant update for its Kings of War universe this summer, headlined by the second installment of their expansion books titled *Fracture*. This new book continues the narrative of the Pannithor world as it begins to crumble under the pressure of the Zikali invasion, introducing new storylines where armies clash amidst chaos and forces of nature choose sides. Alongside the lore, the release includes updates to army lists aimed at improving balance and thematic flavor, though some areas will be addressed in a future book called *Arrogance*. For collectors and players, this update features entirely new plastic miniatures for nature-themed units, beautifully sculpted classics updated to meet modern standards, and a brand new dragon for the Basileans, all designed to enhance the summer gaming experience. Additionally, a campaign titled *Siege of Summer* is scheduled for August, offering an excellent opportunity for players to finish their armies and engage in the game's signature rank and flank mechanics.
In parallel with Kings of War, Mantic is expanding its long-standing Warpath universe, which has been developing over the last decade and a half. For the first time, the company plans to release a comprehensive "triple book" that covers Warpath, Firefight, and Deadzone within a single overarching background and rule set. This major release will introduce Wave Three for Epic Warpath, featuring new tanks and vehicles that were not included in previous Kickstarter campaigns, while also bringing beautiful plastic miniatures for the nameless factions of Firefight and Deadzone. The update includes unique creations from the Epic Warpath Kickstarter, such as the Hammer assault tank, all tied together with a major campaign set to launch around October. This coordinated release aims to provide fresh content for existing armies and keep the excitement high across the entire sci-fi line.
Beyond these core titles, Mantic is leveraging its crowdfunding platform to bring several esoteric and highly anticipated projects to life. Early this year, they launched *DreadBall All-Stars* in collaboration with Jervis Johnson, which has moved into tooling and is expected for delivery in early 2027, while their *Assassin's Creed* project is nearing completion with retail versions arriving soon. Looking ahead, the studio is preparing a role-playing game based on *Ghost in the Shell*, designed by Alessio and Zach as a tribute to the cyberpunk genre's origins, allowing players to recruit Section 9 and explore that iconic world. Furthermore, they are partnering with Caesar King to release a celebratory gold edition of *Worms* for five to six players, alongside a cooperative *Plants vs. Zombies* board game featuring detailed miniatures. Both upcoming crowdfunding campaigns offer exclusive rewards for early supporters before they go live on BackerKit and Kickstarter.

Hi everybody. Ronnie here with part two
of what the heck's going on in Mantic
this summer.
Uh if you haven't watched our Halo
video, go on over there and have a
watch. Just deep dives into all the cool
things that happening around Halo
Flashpoint. It's blowing up. It's going
global. And there's new releases coming
forward all the time. If you want to get
stuck in, go over there.
If you want to find out about all things
Kings of War and Warpath universe, stay
right here.
First up, let's talk about all things
Kings of War.
We've got the second installment in our
expansion books with fracture following
on on the back of invasion.
This is where the Pannithor universe
starts splitting apart under the
pressure of the Zikali.
The book is going to be on shelves in a
matter of days and the updates to the
companion is alongside that.
The book do a number of things. First
up, you're going to get the next chapter
in the story of Pannithor as all things
start unraveling on the back of the
Zikali invasion.
It's the armies that are going to be
meeting up or taking advantage of all
the chaos that's around. You've got the
Basileans fighting against the abyss and
you've got the forces of nature picking
a side.
We've also tackled some of the
obvious and early things that
we wanted to speak about on the back of
the fourth edition. We're delighted as
are all players where the core rules
are, but we're still working hard to
make sure that the army lists have the
right kind of balance and flavor to
allow people to build thematic lists and
the choices they want.
With this book, we've not gone all the
way we want to go. We've still got some
areas that we're going to look at and
they're going to be addressed in
arrogance.
But there is a chunk of Clash of Kings
light in the fracture book that should
make your summer gaming even more fun.
Minis-wise, nature have an entirely cool
out plastic army. We think they're
absolutely gorgeous. I'm not allowed to
call them cat men, but you know.
They go pretty well against the Z'zor
we really leaned into the the nature the
fauna of them and I love these mixed
size units.
I'm going to keep badgering everybody
for more of those. They're not badges
and minor tools, but you know what I
mean.
You also can get
beautiful sculpts of some of the
classics where we're able to come back
and
pick something that we liked before but
wasn't quite up to the 2026 standards
that we like over here at Mantic and
here you've got the brand new dragon for
the Basileans. We're just populating
with joyous minis the bits and bobs to
complete out those armies.
Get building your army. We've had the
slow grow running. It's
aged poor Alex considerably, but uh
if you haven't done that, go and have a
look. It's an inspiring way and if
you're looking to get into Kings of War,
Champions is a great place to start.
If you're a full-on sadist, then dive
straight in with a big full Kings of War
army.
Get building now. We've got the Siege of
Summeric Summer Campaign is going to be
coming in August. It's just a great
opportunity to get your army finished,
get some regiment basing done and see
why people love Kings of War and what
makes it the best rank and flank game
out there.
So, I hope you're going to join us.
Prepare your army now. Come and play in
the world of Pannithor.
As you all know, being long-term Mantic
fans, Halo is not our only sci-fi love.
We also have our game called Warpath
Firefight Zone.
Uh which is
The Warpath universe has been growing
over 10-15 years and for the first time
at the end of this year, we are having
our first triple book. What's a triple
book, Ronnie?
We are going to cover
Warpath and Firefight and Deadzone all
in the same space.
It's going to have rules for each
different scale, but a kind of
overarching background and law that
looks into what's going on currently in
the
Specifically in the book, we're going to
have wave three releases for epic
Warpath.
These are the first set of releases that
were not in the Kickstarter.
So, you can now go along and add to any
of your epic armies with some new cool,
funky, crazy tanks, vehicles, whatever's
coming for them. So, watch out for that.
Firefight and Deadzone are getting our
beautiful nameless uh
plastics coming in around the same time,
so it's all going to land so we can
really have some fun with it all. Uh
that's going to be hitting there. And
we've also di- dived into some of the
creations that were made during the epic
Warpath Kickstarter and them up into
huge big vehicles to add to Firefight
and keep it even more exciting. So,
that's the uh Hummer
Hammer assault tank and that will be
coming out alongside the nameless and
alongside all of the epic wave three
releases. We're going to tie the whole
thing together with a big joyous
campaign. So, get painting you forge
fathers, he says to himself cuz I'm
still only halfway through that army
after 6 years. And come and join us for
something very exciting for all things
Warpath universe around October.
So, we've done everything Kings of War,
we've done everything Warpath universe.
That just leaves us with our more
esoteric tendencies.
And this is where our crowdfunding
allows us to pick our wildest of ideas
and get with support from you bring them
to life.
Early this year we did DreadBall
All-Stars working there with the legend
that is Jervis Johnson.
That is now in tooling, script is done,
and it's going into production for
delivery early 2027.
And Assassin's Creed, one of our 2025
projects, is very nearing completion.
So, final prints coming, it's going to
be coming out of our factories
very soon, and I'm with you bang on
time.
So, both cases, if you supported us,
thank you for that. If you like
Assassin's Creed, then watch out soon
there'll be a retail version available
in local gaming stores shortly. So,
lots of exciting things happening for
both of those projects.
And
>> [clears throat]
>> we've got some new ones coming, too. The
next up is going to be Ghost in the
Shell.
This is a role-play game. It's designed
by Alessio and Zach, and it is an
absolute love letter to all things Ghost
in the Shell.
This, if you know the IP, was the
granddaddy of cyberpunk. This is where
it all started. Um, and uh
the guys have just done an absolutely
beautiful job paying homage to that
work.
You're going to be a recruiting Section
9, working on the likes alongside the
likes of the Major and Batou.
Um, going out, doing your missions,
um, and exploring the world of Ghost in
the Shell. This is on BackerKit. If you
go over there now, there is some cool
free things for following the campaign
before it goes live.
So, go and check it out. BackerKit,
Ghost in the Shell. It's going to be
epic.
And if you're looking for something a
little lighter, a little more fun,
uh, from the same studio that brought us
Worms, by studio I mean the tabletop
studio we work with, Caesar Ring,
um, uh, and this is the gold edition of
Worms, by the way, five and six players,
30-year celebratory edition. They have
been working with us for the last 18
months on Plants vs. Zombies.
Big difference, Worms is a player versus
player game, this is cooperative. So,
you can all play it together.
Huge amounts of fun where you as plants
are defending your house against the
hordes of zombies that are coming.
You've got absolute beautiful miniatures
with personality.
It comes into our kind of
board game joyous IP board games of of
of computer games that we love.
And again, this one's back on
Kickstarter. So, dive on over there. And
again, there's a like cool free things
for following before it goes live.
So,
that's a roundup of everything we've got
going on
here at Mantic this summer.
Uh
plenty to look forward to. Please come
and join us with whichever bit of it
excites you. Until then, thanks for
watching. See you soon. Bye-bye.
