Majora's Mask Remake Incoming!? + Zelda 40th Restock!

Well, the only requirement to enter is to be subscribed to the channel. Today, we got a lot of stuff to go over. First off, Nintendo has won a court case about circumvention devices. So, that one's really interesting to go over. Uh we have actually a lot of Zelda stuff to go over today, and I don't really know where to begin. So, I'll just kind of summarize. We're going to be going over a lot of Ocarine of Time updates and some new stuff there. Uh, a hint for Majora's Mask. And look, even some timeline tidbits and just so much more, including, hey, uh, are you concerned that all of the 40th anniversary stock is sold out? You might not need to be concerned after all. Oh my gosh, guys, there's so much to get into, but I said mostly about Zelda, but we do have one big story to get to outside of that. So, let's go ahead to that first story right now. Nintendo won a court case ruling the sale of Switch circumvention device unlawful. So Nintendo is celebrating a victory in the Netherlands that says the sale of devices designed to circumvent Nintendo security measures is unlawful. So here is the actual statement from Nintendo on the ruling. The defendant operated what is often known as a drop shipping delivery system where products are ordered by consumers on websites targeting European consumers, including those in the Netherlands, are delivered directly from Asia, primarily China. The court ruled that by offering and selling circumvention devices marketed as MIG Switch carts and MIG Switch dumpers for Nintendo Switch on several websites. The defendant acted unlawfully, respectively infringed Nintendo's copyrights. The court ordered the defendant to stop offering and selling MiG Switch cards, MIG Switch jumpers, and any other product that circumvent Nintendo's technological protection measures. This decision follows the previous landmark decision against importers and sellers of the DS circumventum devices rendered by the same court in 2010 and further bolsters the legal basis for rights holders to protect against piracy through the use of security measures. The district court of the HEG followed the reasoning set by the highest European court court of justice of the European Union closely and recognized that the primary purpose of these circumvention devices is to circumvent the security measures protecting Nintendo video game consoles and authentic video games, thereby enabling the use of unauthorized copies of Nintendo video games. Nintendo initiates these actions not only on its own behalf but also on behalf of many video game developers globally that depend on legitimate sales of Nintendo video games. Nintendo promotes and fosters game development and creativity and strongly supports game developers who legitimately create new and innovative games. Uh they were actually awarded back in September 2025 $2 million in damages against the distributors of the MIG Switch devices and recently got to take down hundreds of Switch emulator repositories on GitHub in its war on piracy. This post uh recent press release ends with a message to players. Nintendo's message to players is to avoid purchasing or using circumvention devices. circumventum software or unauthorized copies of video games as this increases the risk of interfering with the functionality and experience provided by authentic Nintendo game consoles, video games, and systems. In other words, we don't want you hacking our devices and pirating our games. Technically, hacking devices isn't illegal, but profiting off selling things to hack the device is actually illegal, as we are finding out through several different court cases. And yes, uh, emulating Switch games, technically emulators need encryption keys in order to function. Encryption keys for now are fully protected under the law. Aka technically Switch emulation isn't legal because it requires something illegal to to function. So Nintendo's actually made a pretty strong uh case here. They've gone all over the world winning lawsuits related to this. seems like the precedent's being set pretty hard and I think emulation of modern-day devices is going to become much sketchier moving forward. Uh, but you know what? This is the internet and people will always find a way and there'll always be a way to emulate this stuff somewhere in some way. Nintendo can't stop it. All right, guys. We got to talk about the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda. And the reason we got to talk about it is, look, I've had a lot of people ask me why I haven't covered the story out there and what's the big story? how much the 40th anniversary stuff has been scalped. The controller is sold out. The controller and stand is sold out. The console is sold out. Uh technically, there's still some retailers that have the case, although the case is starting to get sold out at some retailers. And look, a lot of people have been wanting me to cover how ridiculous this is. Nintendo should have set better times for pre-orders. And well, look, we'll just show evidence of this already. we go over on Nintendo's website and uh you can see uh obviously just kind of what they have in general going on here with Zelda and the 40th. But what I want really get to is how this stuff is sold out. So sold out, sold out. This is Nintendo's website. It's going to vary. Like the amiibo are still available on some websites, but sold out. Sold out. And even the Switch 2 carrying case is sold out. Uh and so there's been a lot of concern about this, of course, that you know, people aren't going to be able to get their hands on the 40th anniversary stuff. Well, it turns out that Nintendo, at least Nintendo of Europe and highly likely all of Nintendo, is promising that they will be replenishing the 40th anniversary items. We're over on Nintendo Insider here who has the story, and it says, "Nintendo has confirmed that it will replenish stock for The Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary collection, promising to share news about it when it will do so through the Nintendo Store app. The Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary collection is currently sold out, the company writes in a banner notification that appeared briefly on the Nintendo store. We will announce when the stock is replenished via the Nintendo store app. Now, this obviously goes into the European store. So, they talk about how much stuff costs over there. It didn't take the long for the product markets out of stock. So, while obviously they're not saying when pre-orders will be reopened, what they are saying is there will be more. So, guys, I think this is going to be something they stock well through the holidays. In fact, I think even day one, you'll probably be able to walk into certain stores and purchase the console, buy the controller, even the controller with the stand. So, I do think that this won't be that difficult to get this holiday. I do predict, however, once we get to January that they may no longer be manufacturing any of it anymore, besides maybe the amiibo and uh yeah, they start to become much more scarce as we get into spring of next year. But, we'll have to wait and see on that front. Obviously, we don't 100% know. Uh, but what we do know a little bit about here is that based on a YouTuber, Zeltic, you guys might have heard of him. Uh, it turns out that Nintendo has updated The Legend of Zelda timeline in various ways with the Ocarina of Time remake. So, as we come down here, uh, it says, "The Legend of Zelda has received a timeline update following the proper reveal of the Ocarine Times remake. Zeltic spotted the news and shared his findings on YouTube. The timeline has always been a talking point among fans for a very long time. Players were left to speculate where each title slots in. Then with the release of the official Hyrule Historia book, Nintendo shared the official timeline for the series. Following the conclusion of The Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary direct, Nintendo opened the official Japanese website for Acarine of Time remake. It's here where we get into the timeline update. We're going into the story related discussion. So keep that in mind obviously for spoilers. The timeline itself has been massively changed. However, alongside the founding of the Kingdom of Hyrule after Skyward Sword, it now shows the founding of the Kingdom of Hyrule just before the imprisoning war. Why is this a big deal? Fans have wondered about whether the events shown in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom with King Rau in the Zonai are the first founding of Hyrule. It was the same Hyrule shown in the games like Ocarine of Time and Twilight Princess or a second founding or refounding connected only to Breath of the Wilders of the Kingdom. Based on the updated timeline, it looks like King Rau had the second founding of Hyrule. Also in the source code, the wild era games are referred to as a shared epilogue or the ending to all timelines rather than separate canon. Interesting. Zeltic also shared some tidbits about the Zelda Ocarine Time remake. When using the Shikica eye, an effect can be seen with a swirling texture pattern, which is similar to Breath of the Wild era Shikica pattern. It can be found on Impa's armor as well. That's not all. Some Kieri like Maido now have white tattoos on their arms which look very much like the tattoos Queen Sonia has in Tears of the Kingdom. Zeltic speculates that we're seeing the origins of these patterns or the earliest iteration of them in Chronology. The Legend of Zelda Archiments remake is heading to Switch to on November 5th. So essentially just a lot of things pointing to hey there was kind of like two different foundings of Hyrule. There was the original and then the post. Then there's other changes too like the fountain in Castle Town uh in Hyrule Castle Town is actually now designed after the worn down fountain in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. So it would seem that they're trying to better unite all of this stuff together and really solidify Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom in the early days of the timeline. So guys, I think this is kind of neat how they're sort of recconing some things to try to make it all fit. Uh that's the kind of reccons I can get behind. Uh, also what I can get behind is a closer look at certain things with Ocarine of Time, including a little bit of a closer look at that tapestry we saw in the teaser video. It's on the back of the box art apparently. This is obviously out of Japan. And you can see the that tapestry in greater detail here on that back. And yeah, obviously you have see Lincoln Zelda with the Ocarine Time in the middle, the Master Sword on the Tapestry, Nav'i up here, but you could just see so much more detail here. Obviously, some additional screenshots are included. Uh, but these are all things we pretty much have already seen via the footage and trailers, but this this look at the tapestry. This is the first time we've seen the tapestry look like. This obviously the great deco trees up here. We know what some of the top of the tapestry looks like. So, I find this really cool. This looks like Jabujaboo right here. Uh, maybe some Goron stuff going on over here. This is Princess Zelda. So, yeah, guys, there's some cool stuff going on. Uh, you guys can obviously examine that further if you like. There'll be a link down in the comments uh for it. Now, we have a Nintendo uh official Japanese account going on to describe more of the characters in Ocarina of Time. So, we're going to go through that. Here we see Link's beloved horse, a big fan of a certain melody, carries the grown-up Link as they gallop across Hyrule Plains. Of course, this is Epona. Eona, where art thou, Epona? All right. Uh, next up for character profile, we have Stealtho. So, a skeletal monster lurking in the depths of the forest said to be pitiful and of adults who wandered astray in the woods. So, supposedly adults who got lost in the lost woods are who the stealth are. Uh, more than that though, we got some other stuff going on. How about a new Lego set being announced? So, Lego the legend of Zelda Ocarine Time Link and Pona set confirmed to release in spring of 2027. This set lets you assemble Lincoln opponent from Ocarina of Time using 1,750 LEGO bricks. And yeah, it looks pretty awesome. I just have to say again coming out next year. So really cool to see that officially announced. That's not the only thing. There's actually a really cool thing happening in Japan. So it says from Hanani, a set featuring the Master Sword and Hilian Shield from Hyrule Zelda's Legend with special paintwork is now available. The premium gold edition will be released in mid December and the masterpiece colored edition in late February. Now, this is a Japanese-only item. But yeah, it looks cool. It does look cool. I wish we had stuff like this here. And get ready for the full color version. Oh, man. That full color version really does look pretty good. I'm not sure if I like the full all gold or the full I mean, the all gold looks so sharp, too. I don't know. There's something about the full color version. I'm not sure on the exact dimensions here, but point is it's in Japan only. They always get some really cool exclusive merch. So, I just had to throw that out there. Now, we got uh one more story to get to. And this one's about Majora's Mask. Uh because something has been noticed about the 40th anniversary direct when they were going through the different games. For some reason, Majora's Mask's logo and font have been updated. Wait a second. Behind the games notice here. So, the change to the logo and font and colors of Zelda Major's Mask in the 40th anniversary direct is food for thought, don't you think? And uh yeah, the bottom is the original, the top is the one from the 40th anniversary direct. It is different. It has been updated. And this kind of suggests that they may already be working on Majora's Mask remake. It would make sense because Ocarine of Time and Majora's Mask are directly linked together and Majora's Mask was an asset flip game from Ocarine of Time. So, they put in all this effort to make Ocarina of Time. It would make sense that they would then use all that effort to make Majora's Mask. Now, do I think the primary Zelda team is handling this? No. No, I do not. I think it's probably Monolithoft and someone else. But I do think that obviously with the completion of Ocarine of Time, it wouldn't be shocking if they already had plans for Majora's Mask to drop say 5 years from now. And why do I say 5 years? Because I do think they're going to drop the new 3D Zelda sometime in the next 5 years. And I think Majora's Mask would be after that, either towards the end of the generation, if not at the very start of Switch 3. But that's my thoughts. Of course, maybe I'm wrong. I have no idea. It's all speculation when it comes to this. So, this does does look interesting. I don't think they updated it for no reason cuz they didn't update every logo, but they updated this one.
