TGIF, happy Friday, happy weekend,
Father's Day weekend to everybody. I
have a couple of announcements that
didn't make it into tomorrow's tutorial
video. So, I thought I'd just make you
another one tonight. Because I have a
sale going on this weekend. I'm calling
it the speedy sale.
And it's the speedy sale because I'm
trying to speed up the website.
I've been working like mad on it and
yesterday and the day before, well, the
last three or four days, I found
something that is helping.
Not helping enough, it's making it a
little faster. I'm on the website all
the time and I can see the difference,
but most people will still think it's
painfully slow. And I'm sorry about
that, but I've been trying to wait for
the bills to
stop crashing on top of me. You know how
when you pay one thing off, the next
thing comes up and then you get a little
bit of money and you think you're doing
okay and then something sucks that money
right out of your account.
That has been happening. So, I'm going

is World Watercolor Month. So, I
specifically want to talk to my World
Watercolor Month peeps. In July, I
usually during World Watercolor Month do
a Zoom call
on Wednesdays and it's a free call or
it's associated with a class. This one
is going to be associated with a class.
There is a brand new class called
Majestic Mountains in watercolor.
They're 5 by 7 paintings and they have a
lot of the same kinds of techniques that
I use in my more advanced paintings, but
these are 5 by 7. They're not big ones,
so I think those techniques shrunk down
a little bit and used in a tighter way
work for smaller paintings. And I know a
lot of you paint smaller than the big
paintings, so I think this will be a
great fun time for all of us.
The way this class is going to work is
going to be a little bit different. So,
I want to show you the preview of the
course, the paintings that you'll see,
and then after I show you that, I'll be
back to tell you how it's going to work
during World Watercolor Month.
In the Majestic Mountains course here at
art-classes.com, this is a level three
class, so it's not for beginners.
But this class is going to teach five
different paintings. Each one is going
to be a mountain from a different part
of the world. We're going to get to
discover different kinds of colors,
different types of rock formations.
Each painting is going to begin with a
beautiful wet-in-wet wash.
And it's very easy to draw when you're
doing a wash like this. We're just going
to get the general shape, and then let
the paint do a lot of the work. And
after we get that first wash done, we'll
add one or two more to each one of the
paintings in order to add all that
beautiful detail of rocks and snowpack,
trees, and vegetation.
In this course, you won't need a lot of
fancy colors. You can choose a lot of
the colors you already have in your
palette. So, you don't need to have
exactly what's in the pre-class lesson,
but of course, you can if you wish.
And each one of these lessons is taught
in real time.
So, you'll get to paint right along if
you wish, or you can pause, do some
painting, and then come back.
Each one of the washes may they moments
when they depend on the previous wash to
still be wet. So, we'll be talking about
different strategies to keep the paint
wet enough to work with when you know
that next step is going to entail some
wet-in-wet color.
So, you can see the pre-class lesson for
all of the materials you're going to
need for the class, and I hope to see
you in the course. This is going to be a
lot of fun to paint these mountains
together.

I have some specific information you

There are five Wednesdays in July, and
traditionally during July, I have done a
drip class. What that is is each
Wednesday, you get a new lesson. So, on
Wednesday mornings, Pacific time, since
that's where I live, I'm going to
release the lesson for that week. So,
you can watch it on Wednesday morning if
you wish. Or,
you can wait until later in the day.
Late afternoon, my time, Pacific time,
I'll be doing a Zoom call for anyone
who's registered in this class. We are
going to watch the video together.
I'm hoping technology works, so we can
watch it together.
And I will pause the video if there are
questions. If somebody needs to know,
"Hey, I want to see that little bit
again. How did you do that? How wet was
the paper?" Anything that I didn't
answer in the video, I will be happy to
answer in the Zoom call.
And you can paint along with that Zoom
call, and then afterward, we can do more
Q&A.
The Zoom calls will be available as
replays for any future students. So, if
you aren't able to make the Zoom calls,
you'll be able to catch it later on. And
then after July is over, anyone who
purchases the course will immediately
have all the lessons available to them.
They won't have to wait for Wednesdays,
but can still watch those Zoom calls as
