MAHAKALI: Shukracharya's War Cry | Akshaye Khanna, Sriya Reddy | REACTION!!
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The video begins with a casual conversation between two hosts who recently attended a movie screening together. They discuss their differing opinions on the film *End of Oak Street*, with one host praising it as a fun and silly experience featuring dinosaurs from a non-Jurassic World era, while the other criticizes the dialogue as awful. The discussion takes a humorous turn when one host recounts a vivid dream about being married to Anne Hathaway and raising her children, jokingly referring to himself as the stay-at-home daddy. This lighthearted banter sets the stage for their return to *Studio Corbin*, where they introduce a new trailer for an upcoming film titled *Mahakali*.
The hosts then dive into an analysis of the *Mahakali* trailer, noting its heavy reliance on monologue and spiritual themes rather than traditional action sequences. They identify the film as likely being part of the Telugu cinema universe, possibly related to the story of Hanuman or the Ramayana, given the visual similarities to characters from previous films like *Kalki*. A significant portion of their commentary focuses on the language discrepancy; despite the trailer having nearly seven million views in Hindi compared to two million in Telugu, they express confusion over why a film starring Akshaye Khanna would be predominantly presented in Hindi. They speculate that the production house might have prioritized the Hindi version to capitalize on Akshaye's massive fanbase, even though the cast and crew appear to be primarily Telugu speakers.
As they break down the plot points revealed in the trailer, the hosts describe a narrative involving a massive spiritual war where Shukracharya, the guru of the Asuras, questions divine justice after the Devas receive immortality while the Asuras are banished. They note that the film seems to feature a newborn destined for Mahakali and hints at a sci-fi take on older mythological stories, similar to the character dynamics seen in *Kalki*. The hosts also investigate the director's background, discovering credits in sound art direction and cinematography, and briefly mention other upcoming releases like *Dune* and *Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes* to contextualize the current theater landscape. They conclude by acknowledging that while they are unsure if the film is strictly Hindi or Telugu, they remain excited to see it regardless of the language version, inviting their audience to share their own thoughts on the trailer below.

So, we saw a movie in theaters.
>> You saw a movie
>> in theaters? Yeah.
>> What'd you see?
>> End of Oak Street.
>> Yeah.
>> Did you Did everybody go or just you and
your honey?
>> No, just me and
>> I was going to say cuz that's pretty
intense for the littles.
>> No, no, they didn't. It was just me and
my wife while they were at school.
>> Yeah. Tell me tell me you you had a good
time.
>> I had a really good time.
>> Okay, good.
>> I don't know that I'd give it a gold
like you gave it.
>> I loved it.
>> Because
>> for you it would be a silver would have
been
>> Yeah, I had a good time. It was fun and
silly,
>> but there was some awful dialogue. Like
the ride the dialogue writing was
>> Oh, you haven't seen the Odyssey?
>> Really terrible. No, I haven't yet.
>> Um, but it was I mean it was fun. I
liked seeing dinosaurs that wasn't in
the Jurassic World era. And
>> I I got Anne Hathaway on the brain. I
had a dream I had a dream last No
kidding. I had a dream last night.
>> Euan was struggling.
>> Ewan was struggling. [laughter] You
could that bless his heart. He was You
could see it, couldn't you?
>> He was struggling with that accent. He
>> was struggling with that accent. Bless
his heart. But I I [snorts] had a dream
last night that I'm Sid Caesar of all
people who died in 2014. I was at this
thing with Sid Caesar and he's doing
this thing and and then I turn around
and I'm being greeted by Anne Hathaway
and two kids and apparently I'm married
to Anne and those are my two kids and
she's like, "Hey sweetie and I give her
a hug." I said, "Hey sweetie." She says,
"Okay, you ready to go?" Like she kisses
give me a kiss on the cheek like
and then I woke up. [laughter]
You say yes ma'am to that and you be
you'd be like I'm the stay-at-home
daddy. [laughter]
>> What do you need ma'am?
>> Yeah. What what how may I serve you my
queen?
>> How about that dino scene? Am I right?
>> Yeah.
>> The biggest, the baddest, [music]
wackiest, funniest, filmiest show on
earth.
[music]
>> Hey, welcome back to Studio Corbin. I'm
Anne Hathaway. You can follow us on
Instagram to more juicy content. Thank
you for watch account like button. One
of my favorite one of my favorite random
parts and it's not really a spoiler.
People get eaten by dinosaurs. Sorry. Is
just random lady coming out. I HEARD
GUNSHOTS with no situational awareness
and just gets
>> eaten. I mean
>> Yeah.
>> I I want to take Ashley to go see it.
>> It was fun. It was a good time.
>> It's a fun movie. Fun summer movie.
>> Yeah. Good time. [snorts] You can tell
the director his favorite director is
probably Stephen Spielberg cuz he was
trying to
>> fullblown 1980s Spielberg.
>> I just wish the dialogue writing was
better. Anyway, today we got a new
trailer for a upcoming movie called
>> Mahakali.
Mahali.
>> Uh, read that. Bring him.
>> HE'S JUST A BOY. UM,
Shukria's war cry, which sounds a little
like this. Hey,
>> and it's with a
uh ready. And I don't know if this is a
Hindi movie or a Telugu or if it was
filmed in both because one ready is a
heavy Tugu name I believe. Um but also
like but this trailer obviously Akani
Cindi has almost 7 million views and the
Tuga one has 2 million views I so
typically I go with the one that has the
more views because that that usually is
the language that is most excited about
it typically.
>> Right. Um, but if I'm wrong, please let
me know.
>> Well, we'll know if the lips and the
words don't match.
>> Well, once again though, they might have
done
>> That's true. They could have shot it in
both.
>> They could shot in Hindi for a Kana and
then
>> he the other guy gets dubbed.
>> Yep.
>> And then vice versa,
>> right?
>> A Kana gets dubbed and Tugu version.
>> I don't know. But anyways, I don't know
what this is about, but let's uh check
it out.
>> [music]
>> This doesn't feel very good.
>> Oh, it's like
it's me banging your mouth.
I know that voice.
[music]
The white walker.
[music]
for
maybe a tug movie then.
I see
you.
>> [music]
[music]
>> Rock the beach.
>> [music]
>> Is this Callie?
A
That was awesome.
Cool. I'm in. Cool. I'm in.
>> So, my guess it's related to this movie
called um Hanaman, which is a Tuga
movie. I watched that with Steph a
couple years ago, I feel like.
>> Um, and I did that with her cuz it it it
was related to the the Ramayana story
and so it was um she knew about that
story and all that kind of stuff. So,
that's a Tuga movie. So, if it is a Tugu
movie, I'm sorry. Please let me know.
But if it's somewhere in that universe,
but I don't know who this the I mean
that looked like Kie.
>> It did to me too. But we also we're very
dumb. Yeah. [laughter]
>> And ignorant of of all that stuff. So uh
let us because it said it's related in
some way to that universe,
>> right?
>> So let me know. I'm assuming the Hindi
one is more because it's a Khan. It's
maybe his first movie since Dandar. So
people are excited and it's a fun
character.
>> Um but it looked cool. Very cool.
>> The world looked cool. His performance
looked cool. The other characters looked
cool.
>> Yeah, I I'm in.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Everything looked very, very cool.
Uh, how long? Great run time. Almost
three. Just under three. Just under
three.
>> That's a really well put together
trailer.
>> Stuff like this works. We've said this
before, longer ones work if it's like a
short scene as opposed to
>> cutting up the movie in a trailer. And
so you're giving away each plot point.
Right. You just had him doing a kind of
a monologue basically for 3 minutes.
>> Yeah. And letting us know there's going
to be a massive spiritual war that's
about to take place.
>> Yeah. Obviously, Hinduism has a ton of
stories. So, obviously, I don't know
what story this is. What is you guys?
>> I think this is the era of destruction
that's being unleashed. That's what I
think. But again, we are beyond novice
beginner. The poster Oxana kind of looks
like um whatever character Big B was
playing in
Kulki.
>> Are they embodying the same person or is
it just the old just old man kind of
similar?
>> Uh Shukrara, guru of the Assuras,
questions the gods justice after the
devas received immortality while Ashuras
was banished.
>> Okay. He commands Rockab to destroy
humanity as a newborn destined for
Mahakali appears.
>> That's what we saw.
>> I feel like it's kind of the story of
Kulki a little bit.
Wasn't there like a Proas as a baby kind
of a kind of a deal?
>> Yeah, I mean I I can see a similarity. I
would have no clue if it's a much more
sci-fi take on it. This is um a little
more uh old school in its in its feel.
Puja. Let me see here. I think it's a I
think it's a Tugum. So, I'm sorry, guys.
I know you guys are yelling at me if if
it is a Tugum. I watch a Hindi version.
I'm sorry.
>> They're all saying, "Why do you hate
Tulugu?" Corbin.
>> Oh, hold on. Story and development of
Ralph.
Hold on. I need to see what this person
has directed.
Six directing credits.
A lot of other credits. Sound art
direction. Second unit ad camera
electrical department cinematographer
[snorts] lot of hats.
>> Okay. So documentary short short Jesus
Christ. So he did one called Martin
Luther King in 2023.
>> Is it a he or a shea?
I feel like it's a woman.
>> Yeah. Me too.
[snorts]
>> Puja is a name I know. Um, that's a
girl's name.
>> Yeah, that's what I was saying. Is is it
might not be. I don't actually know.
>> Um, Axa looks cool, man. We love Oxana.
Do the Oxana thing.
>> That's the Oxana thing. In case you
didn't know, he originated that. No one
else has ever done it.
>> No, no, no, no.
>> Ever. No, never.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, yeah. Look at those faces. Tugu,
baby.
>> Tugu. I'm sorry guys. [laughter]
It's why that's kind of wild. It must
just be because of the excitement of
Aikana.
>> Yeah. Everybody in it is Tugu and then
Aana's in it. So yes, it's Hindi.
>> That it's so wild because typically the
the language that it that is
predominantly in the production house.
So all the actors has the most views by
a lot. Typically typically
>> even if there's a famous actor in it.
>> It's not a bad barometer to go by.
>> It's like Yeah.
millions more in Hindi.
>> It's why why is the Hindi version three
times as many views as the Tuga?
>> I wonder if it's because since it the
teaser was such a Kanaentric, they
wanted to see him speak it.
>> I guess it's a weird It's weird.
>> It must have been to see him cuz I don't
know if he speaks to Luga or if they're
going to dub him.
>> Yeah, that sucks because his voice is so
identifiable.
>> If the entire
teaser is just his monologue, you'd want
to hear Aki Kana saying it,
>> right? You would.
>> I bet that's it.
>> That might be it.
>> I bet that's it. Let me know if I'm
wrong. But
>> either way, I want to see it.
>> All the other faces there are tonight.
>> Nice way to start off 27th.
>> Yeah. [snorts] Uh one January.
>> Yeah, January 8th.
[snorts]
>> Oh, you're pretty close to Doesn't Dune
come out in December?
>> December.
>> It'll still Dune and uh Doomsday will
both still be in theaters?
>> King, too, right?
>> Yeah. King will come out a little bit
before them.
>> Oh, you should.
>> But if it does Well, yeah.
>> Did you see this by
>> It'll be It'll be crowded. I haven't I
haven't No, I haven't seen the new
Spider-Man yet. Alexis and Isaac saw it.
>> Mhm.
>> And I was surprised. She said it was
good.
>> It It was enjoyable. There's a lot of
nostalgia.
>> She said, "I wouldn't say it's great." I
said, "Oh, well, okay. Interesting.
Interesting. Interesting."
>> Anyways, let us know what you thought
about this, if you're excited for this,
and anything else we need to know down
below.

wackiest, funniest, filmiest show on
