It's ride number 33 on our motorcycle adventure exploring the northeast of India. >> And we are here in the city of Dimapur in the state of Nagaland. And I'm pretty sure it just started raining, which is a great start to the morning. >> Not anyway. At least the rain will cool us down. So, it's good and bad. But despite the weather, we are hitting the road today because we have a long ride. Oh, >> bloody hell. >> Okie dokie. We are hitting the road today because it is the last day of our Nagaland permit, which means bye-bye Nagaland. We need to get out of here. So, let me show you guys where we're heading today. So we are here in Dimapur and today we will be crossing back into [music] Asam and aiming to reach a town called Jawai in a brand new state Megaa. This city Dimmapur is the largest city in Nagland and it's also right on the border to Asam. So we've been staying here for the last few days catching [music] up with some editing having a bit of a rest after our crazy adventure here in the state. Yes, Nagaland was a whole new experience for us and I loved it so much. >> Yeah, if you haven't seen our videos from our time here, go back and check them out because we had some crazy adventures, guys. We entered during a massive rainstorm and tackled some crazy muddy roads and I fell over a couple of times. Oh, I'm down. We met up with a wild local. the roving naga who took us out into the jungle for an overnight camp [music] and fed us chicken cooked in bamboo. >> Yes, we had a little jungle party. It was absolutely amazing. >> Then we attempted to climb a mountain. It was too late. It was too muddy. Then I got food [music] poisoning. Then we finally did climb the mountain and get pretty good views. And then we rode here to Dimapur. >> So all in all, a well-lived week here in Nagaland. >> But as I said, our permit is due to expire. And that means we have to head back into Asam. >> Yes. But it's going to be a long ride today. Our next destination is 250 kilometers away. At Google Map says it will take us 5 hours and 50 minutes. It is already 8:30. So, better hit the road. Let's go. We picked one of the worst days to do one of the longest days. Oh no. This is going to be one long rainy ride. >> Yeah. Oh my god. What's going on here? >> Oh wow. Oh, puddles. Puddles. Puddles. Puddles. Muddy puddles. >> Muddy puddles. And huge potholes. Oh. Oh, lovely start to the morning. Some muddy roads under construction in the rain. Beautiful, guys. That's a bit scary. We just saw lightning over there. Like really not that far away. Like it was pretty loud as well. I didn't get it on camera, but man, it's a bit scary to be honest. I've checked online and they say you should definitely not be riding a motorcycle if there's lightning around because we are not protected on the bikes at all. And people have actually died being struck by lightning on motorbikes. Yeah, I don't really know what to do, guys. We were kind of hoping that we would ride a little bit and it would get clearer, the weather would clear up. It looks a little bit brighter ahead. Let's go for a little bit more, at least until breakfast. And then if it's still really bad, maybe we should look at [music] staying somewhere a little bit closer. [music] Just going to stop and get some fuel. And uh weather update, guys. It's beautiful blue skies. No, I'm kidding. It's still rain. >> He doesn't have any fuel. Oh, bugger. Yeah, we're on like about what is that? An eighth of a tank at the moment. Um, okay. Well, we'll just carry on then, eh? Oh, there's another petrol station here, but it's closed. >> Yeah, I don't really know what to do now, my love. The rain is so bad and I'm completely soaked now. Like all my clothes, everything is wet. >> Yeah, for the first like 20 minutes it sort of you stay a little bit dry but after a while it just gets in. >> We have been on the road now riding for 1 hour 45 minutes. >> Yeah. And I have like puddles of water inside my boots now. [laughter] Yeah. It's crazy when you start the ride in the morning, especially after having a few days off. You're always like, "Oh yeah, I'm ready for anything. Let's go. And then you get on the road and you're like, nah, I'm not really ready. >> The rain is really bad. It's really bad. And that we don't have petrol now is as well a little bit concerning. >> Yeah. I mean, there's got to be other petrol stations in this town, >> I think. So, >> hello. Okay. [music] >> [music] >> So, we were just looking for a place to have some breakfast and then we saw this giant Hanaman statue calling us. Come in, have some food. Hello. You have a breakfast? Yeah. What do you have for breakfast? >> Uh, alo [clears throat] paratha. >> Oh, aloo paratha. Okay. Two alo paratha and two coffee. >> Oh, >> okay. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> We are so wet. >> So wet. >> We have done now 115 km in the last 2 and 1/2 hours and we have still 135 km to go and Google estimates it will take us 3 hours and 40 minutes. My jacket, my trousers, everything is completely soaked. Like I'm so so wet. Hopefully my jacket can dry out in the next 10 minutes. I doubt it, but [laughter] let's hope for the best. Also, check out what happened to the GoPro. I mean, this part's usually black, but for some reason, the rain has stripped off the paint or something because look, both GoPros. Look at that. Never happened before. And then in one ride, both of them have turned silver. So, the situation outside doesn't look too bad actually at the moment. It's definitely dripping, but it's not pouring, which is good. Hopefully, the rain will stop in the next half an hour. That would be so nice. Yeah, this restaurant is really beautiful. I'm so happy that we found this place here. Check out the decoration in this room. Very nice place. I hope the food will be as nice. >> Got ourselves a nice breakfast here. Aloo paratha. Some cucumber. >> Yeah, my love. Your favorite. >> Oh, thank you. Yeah, perfect. >> And they just brought out this here. And I asked, "What is that?" And he said, "Kurt, but it's sweet curd." So here in Assam, they eat aloo paratha with sweet curd. I never had it before. First time. Let's try. >> That's actually really good. >> It's actually sweet. >> Yeah. And it's really good. >> Okay. >> They put a lot of chilies in there, so it's spicy, but at the same time, there is a little bit sweetness coming through. Oh my god. But that meal cost us only 200 rupees for two aloo paratha and two coffees. I mean that's just crazy. That is just crazy. That's like under2 for a beautiful breakfast. I tell you what, that is something I'm going to really miss when we leave India. Being able to get a delicious aloo paratha on the side of the road for under2. Check out this river. Wow, that's so pretty. And they have almost a beach there. >> Yeah. And all of these like little waterfalls going over the rocks. This is like the perfect place to do slip and slides. Look, you can actually go from the top there down to that pool. And then you've got multiple options. This is like a water park here. Nothing like water falling over rocks. Also quite a nice jungle scene on this side as well. Whoa. This bridge moves so much when the trucks come over it. Heart attack. I thought that was an earthquake for a second. Bloody hell. It's a pretty wild road we're on at the moment. We just left the city of Lanca in that direction. And we've entered this little road which is just cutting all the way across to Joai. And it's going through this kind of wild area of loads and loads of forest. It's a pretty nice ride actually. >> Yeah, very nice ride. And weather update. It is raining slightly. A little bit of drizzle still. So, not 100% dry, but at least it's not raining cats and dogs anymore. >> Ready for our next leg. >> Yeah. It's funny when you see the roads on the map, you have no idea what they're going to be like. We just saw this road cutting across from Lanca to Jawai. Looked pretty straightforward on the map. Beautiful though. Absolutely beautiful. Quick update. We have another 1 hour and 14 minutes left. 41 kilometers. >> Look at those tiny puppies. So, I rung up one place and asked if they have a room available and they said they have a room available. And the room costs £3,000 rupees which is about £23. We will go there now. We will check out the room and see if it looks good. It's about 1 hour away. >> Just 1 hour more to go. And seriously, the weather is just getting better and better. We actually have blue sky over there. >> Yes. And the surroundings here are so beautiful. Look at this. You have like really nice rolling hills. >> Yeah. This is really an area of rolling hills, isn't it? It was a bad start to the ride today definitely and there were many times I thought nah let's just stop but in the end I'm really glad that we carried on. Also did you hear that guys? They told us that we have actually [music] entered Mega. So we are officially in the final state of our northeast adventure. >> Welcome to Megaa. >> Yes. And we have some absolutely awesome places lined up to visit in this state. This state has some of the most incredible jungles and forests. Megallaya is home to Asia's cleanest village and also the wetest place in the entire world. It's also home to something very special and that is the living root bridges where local people [music] train roots to cross a river so they can make a bridge which is living. >> Yes. I'm so super excited to go there and check that place out. Yeah, I think it's one of those places you really have to see to believe. In the pictures, it looks unbelievable. It's going to be a jam-packed final [music] state here on our ride in northeast India. And as long as the sun's out for some of it, then I'm up for it. What a welcome to Megaloa. Look at that. Our [music] first views in Megallaya. Look at this. That's crazy. It's so wild and forested here. And then we've just got some rice patties right down at the bottom of the valley. Welcome to Megala.
