guilty verdict has been reached in the
Murder for Hire trial in the rapper Lil
Dirt case. He was accused of organizing
a plan to kill a rival rapper in
reactalation for a 2020 murder of his
friend, rapper King Vaugh. Joining us
right now is NBC legal analyst Royal
Oaks. He's going to break it down. This
does not mean he is free at this point,
right Royal?
>> That's right, Colleen. What's happened
here is great news for today for him and
for his codefendants who worked with him
allegedly and all three of them were
found not guilty of everything, the
conspiracy and the stalking and the
murder. I guess the lesson here is
sometimes even though there may be
circumstantial evidence, maybe there was
a motive to kill because there was
animosity between the two rapper groups,
if the prosecution doesn't have the
goods in terms of DNA or eyewitnesses.
Now, there was one witness who flipped
uh but he's probably getting a deal from
the prosecution, so maybe he didn't have
credibility.

Now that he beat the two, three, four,
and five,
now can he stand trial for count one and
six.
You can't win for losing.
You cannot win for losing, guys. I'm
going to say that these folks done told
him he was innocent.

here we go again. More trumped up
charges right there at his footsteps. It
was a big win for everybody.
But at the end of the day, you can't win
for losing in this case. This guy has
been up there. He's been fighting. The
people spoke. They said they didn't feel
like he was guilty. Now, this judge and
some more mess they've been talking
about in trial. And matter of fact, the
other two that was with you ain't guilty
either. And that old boy that was
telling you talking about he did this
and he did that. The the one who was
talking uh the little deal he did get,
he done spill his beans on [ __ ] They
don't even believe you. They didn't
believe what you said. So, I'm going to
say, you know, this was a big win for uh
uh Lil Dirt cuz he could have been gone,
man, for a long time, for his entire
life.

had word that the prosecution and the
defense lawyers were having this secret
closed door meeting. We thought, well,
okay, maybe they're going to come up
with a plea deal because if the jury had
said guilty, little Derky could have
been set away forever his entire life.
And one minute before a verdict, if you
cut a deal, then the verdict is null and
void. But there was no such deal
apparently. Uh and this jury figured uh

of dodge. Uh and they have delivered
their decision.
