Video summary
The video documents a couple's exciting trip to Lake Tahoe, where they visit friends Andy and Dne in their family cabin. Upon arrival, the vlogger expresses awe at the stunning scenery and the unique log-cabin architecture of the town, noting that the cold weather is a stark contrast to her home in Austin. Despite feeling slightly unwell due to allergies, she prepares for a day on the water by layering up against the freezing temperatures. The group heads out early in the morning to avoid afternoon choppy waters, with the vlogger initially hesitant but ultimately thrilled to try wake surfing for the first time. She finds the experience thrilling and addictive, successfully standing up on the board before taking a dip in the crystal-clear water that tastes surprisingly fresh compared to tap water back home.
After their boating adventure, the group stops at Gar Woods, a local spot famous for its frozen rum-based signature drink called the "Wet Woody." They enjoy the tropical flavors of the beverage and purchase a large gallon bag to share on the boat. The vlogger also reflects on her decision not to wash her hair after getting in the lake, praising how shiny it remains despite being submerged. Later that evening, they attend a more formal dinner at Gar Woods, where she wears a dress from Target. The night concludes with a visit to another house for pre-game drinks before heading out to explore the local food scene, specifically visiting Commodore Perry to cross a restaurant off their Austin bucket list.
The following days are filled with professional photography work and personal preparations for an upcoming wedding in Cabo. The vlogger shares her anxiety about being late to events and discusses her thoughts on practicing their first dance, weighing the pros and cons of hiring a choreographer versus keeping the moves simple. She also takes time to cook elaborate meals at home, such as marinated skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and broccoli with parmesan, finding fulfillment in using her hands creatively rather than doom-scrolling. Additionally, she mentions buying expensive new SD cards for her camera gear and trying out various coffee shops and bakeries in the Mueller neighborhood to try new drinks like strawberry matcha and banana Nutella cookies.
The vlog concludes with a relaxing Sunday morning spent at a local cafe called Thoroughfare, where they enjoy fresh coffee and pastries while watching a soccer game. After grabbing groceries to restock their pantry, including rice packets for quick meals, the couple prepares a homemade skirt steak dinner with broccoli. The day ends with a couples' massage at Harmony Foot Spa, which the vlogger notes was quite intense as her partner requested a hard pressure. Throughout the video, she balances updates on her professional life as a photographer with personal reflections on her wedding planning, food experiments, and the joy of exploring new places with friends.

You guys can maybe leave your strap

>> Hey y'all. What's up? My name is Sali.
Welcome back to a new vlog. We are in
Lake Tahoe and I've never been here
before. The drive up here was so unreal.
I feel like I haven't really explored a
lot of northern states and it just
looked so different than what I'm used
to obviously. and the water. Like, we
weren't even super close to the water,
but it looks stunning. We're here
visiting our friends Andy and Dne. They
have like a family house out here, and
they used to live in Austin, but now
they moved to Charleston, which is so
sad, but it gives us an excuse to do fun
trips like this to see them. We drove
through the town, and it looked so cute.
Like, everything's like a log cabin. I I
don't even know what I was expecting,
but I wasn't expecting that. And it's so
cute. We're going to have dinner and
drinks tonight. We're staying in this
cabin and me and Kiana did rock paper
scissors to get this upper room cuz it's
a little bit bigger. Well, actually a
good bit bigger.
>> Two out of three.
>> Depends if she wins and then [laughter]
>> rock paper scissors. Shoot.
>> Yeah, this is big.
>> You ready?
>> Scissors. Shoot.
>> Rock. Wait. Sorry.
>> Rock, paper, scissors. Shoot.
>> I haven't done in years, but
the comeback.
>> Now I feel bad. [laughter]
>> No, she manifested it.
>> I'm wearing a pretty simple outfit. I
got my park denim jacket on, a white
tank top, my Saison belt. Sorry, this is
probably like the worst angle. And just
like some jeans. So, we're going pretty
casual tonight. But tomorrow, I think
we're going to dress up. Andy had
planned out like a whole itinerary for
us. I mean, they come here often, so
they know where to go, what to do. So,
I'm just excited to explore.
>> We're going to Char Pit.
>> Going to get some burgers. Hopefully,
>> I might get ribs, some chips. I don't
know. Might go crazy.
>> Oo, look at this road. It looks so cool.
>> And then the girlies are back together.
>> Yay. China's developing that'll drink
your teeth.
>> Coconut frozen lemonade.
>> Good morning. We didn't chat too much
yesterday. We got in pretty late and
then we were going to go to dinner and
dinner was so good. Charit for burgers
and onion rings. So yummy. I did start
feeling a little sick though last night
and I'm not feeling better today. Um, I
thought it was allergies and I've been
having some allergy issues like back in
Austin earlier this year and I got on
steroids. I don't know if I mentioned
this to you guys, but now I'm just like
feeling it like actually all in my
sinuses and all this stuff, but my eye
is so crusty and like it hurts. It sucks
to feel like just, you know, not normal
on a trip that you've been looking
forward to. We are going to the store to
get like ice cuz we're going on a boat
today. I'm so excited to see the water
close up. I've seen so many pictures and
it's funny cuz me and Ryan's default
computer screen is Lake Tahoe and it's
stunning. It's just like clear water. So
beautiful, but everyone's telling me
like, "No, you can't swim because it's
so cold. It's literally water from ice
and like the snow." So, I have so many
layers on because they're like, "It's
going to be cold. We're It's like 6:00
a.m. right now. We're going super early
because they said in the afternoon it
gets really choppy." So, um I am layered
up swimsuit heat tech long sleeve. I
have this and then Brian has a bunch of
like uh windbreers and Gortex, all this
stuff. So, I'm going to borrow one of
those. But yeah, feeling a little
stuffy. It's just crazy to be in
somewhere that's like so cold because
like back home in Austin like you you
can't even comprehend being cold, you
know? Last night we did go a little bit
closer to the water. It was like blue
hour, so you couldn't really like see
how blue like the actual ocean was cuz
the sun was setting. I think it was
music on the beach and there was so many
people out. It was so cute. But it was
pretty windy right next to the beach. So
I was like shivering cuz I just had like
a denim jacket on. So tonight I'm
definitely going to bring my windbreaker
[music] out.
It's getting warmer, which is good.
The sun's helping.
>> Excited.
>> Good morning. We're going to go boating.
We're going to go wake surfing. It's
going to be a good time.
>> That's like
>> It's so pretty out here. I can't wait to
see like the super blue water when the
sun kind of like hits the water. But
it's so stunning.
>> I just braided my hair because the boat
apparently is going to go fast and I'm
not trying to detangle my hair. But it's
so interesting because Dalton just went
out on a paddle board to get the boat. I
feel like that's so cool. He's very
skilled. I was very impressed. But yeah,
he's bringing the boat to us to get it
off the buoy. Yes. Me and Ryan are
watching Sterling Point [laughter]
>> and it's very much these lake vibes. So,
the perfect time to be watching the
show.
>> Our ride is here.
>> That's my dad saying the first one.
the drama.
>> And how is it?
>> It's pretty nice, right? It's not too
bad.
>> It's nice.
>> This is also personal.
>> Yeah, the face his face says it all.
He's like really struggling down there.
>> Nice.
>> Easy. Easy.
Good luck, babe.
>> You're going to kill it.
>> GOOD. [screaming]
GOOD. GOOD. GOOD.
>> YEAH. LEAN BACK. LEAN BACK. OKAY. LEAN
BACK. Lean back. Lean back.
>> Turn it in. Back foot. Back foot. Yes.
YEAH.
>> YEAH.
>> Right there. Perfect. Drop a little bit.
>> Yeah, baby.
>> Good job, babe. How do you feel? That
>> was actually that when you do it right,
it's really fun. [laughter]
This be a hard one. I think so.
>> Okay, I'm going. I'm going to try it. I
don't know if I'll be good. Are
>> you done?
>> Keep going.
>> But you'll kill it. I was proud of
myself for even just standing up.
>> We don't work out for nothing.
>> Stand up.
>> No, I didn't just stand up.
>> Yeah, she did it. She killed it.
>> Dolan's right here. So, you can jump in
if you want to hang out, but he's he's
out here. boat.
>> Why does it matter if I'm here?
[laughter]
>> I don't want to hang out in the water.
>> Do I want to? Is it better if I get used
to it?
>> Maybe get used to it.
>> Oh my god.
>> It feels amazing. Wow.
>> Right.
>> I feel like I'm going to bang my knee
into this.
>> Let's jump in.
>> Yo, that's very hot. Okay, here we go.
>> And you got a little flotation device.
So, there you go.
>> How's the water?
>> It's warm, huh?
>> You want to try and bring your backpack
on? Show me. What do you do?
>> Like this.
>> Or like No, like lean back. Lean back.
Yeah. Let go of the board.
>> Put your feet like barely on it. Like
like this. This [laughter] is what you
want to put your feet on. Like this.
>> And Okay.
>> Good. Good.
>> So, Ollie, put your put that leg in
between the S and the W and then that
leg closer to the the
>> Should I put it more in the middle of
the
>> back?
>> And then over that way for the your
back.
>> Yes.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Perfect.
>> Dig your heels in.
>> That's good. Yeah. So, lean back. Dig
your heels in. Those only two things
going through your head right now when
the boat starts. Okay.
>> When you start to feel that pulling, dig
your heels in to the board stops you.
>> Yeah.
>> Good. Yeah.
>> Good. Good. Good. Good. There you go.
>> Yes.
>> You're good.
>> Yeah. Back. Good. Good. Good. Back.
Back.
>> Good. Good. Good. Good. Good. Good.
Good.
[screaming]
>> Just stay there. Just chill. Just chill.
Good.
>> I'm so glad that I tried it cuz I really
didn't want to. I was so nervous to try
it, but I got up and it was honestly
like so thrilling and almost addicting.
Like I wanted to do it again and again.
But we dried off and now we're just like
boopping around on the boat. It's so
fun. We just stopped at Garwoods and got
their signature drink. I think it's
called a wet woody. Wet Woody is a
frozen rum based drink, but
>> and then you add more rum rum on top.
>> You add a floater on top. But they're
incredible, especially on a boat day.
>> And you get a gallon bag.
>> A gallon. It's so good.
>> I'm excited to try it.
>> Anyone else got any better idea?
[laughter]
>> As long as you like break it up.
>> Going to slap the bag.
>> All right, let's see.
>> I think this will be better.
>> I hope so.
>> Oh, my head.
>> If not, then it's like it's all we got,
right?
>> Don't fill it up as much.
gets a big one.
>> So yummy. What do you think?
>> I like it a lot. So good.
>> It's tropical and
>> they were saying there was like Did you
say there was three different rooms or
something? There's like Yeah. I mean,
but there's a lot of different types of
>> but you can't really taste alcohol,
which is my favorite kind of cocktail.
>> Ryan, you got one
time.
>> You can always surface and not get this.
So, I think I have to move to
California. It's official. My hair has
not been this shiny since I was probably
in high school living in Georgia. And
you guys, I didn't even wash it. I got
in the lake, as you guys saw, and we
decided we're going to go back out on
the lake tomorrow. So, why wash our
hair? And that water is just so clear.
Like you know when you're [music] going
wake surfing you do ingest a lot of that
water unfortunately but I was like not
freaking out about it because it like
well this sounds a little bit weird but
it tasted so like fresh. Like it
literally is from the ice um compared to
Austin water. Like that would be a
little bit concerning if I was ingesting
all that water. But I am just like wow
my hair looks so good for not washing
it. Tonight is our more dressy night. So
I got a little cute Target dress on. try
to get a clip of it um when we're out
and about. I was thinking about wearing
pants cuz it was freezing last night,
but I think I'm just going to have to
bear the cold because my other outfit
that I had planned looked like a waiter.
It It wasn't the vibe that I thought it
was. So, we're going to have to go with
the dress and my legs might be cold, but
we'll see. I'm going to just bring like
an extra windbreaker jacket. I think all
of us are so tired right now. I mean,
our bodies and just obviously we woke up
so early. I didn't really nap like I
usually do on boat days. I like
literally fall asleep for like a good 30
minutes, but today I probably like
snoozed in and out for like 5 minutes.
I've already dranken one Diet Coke today
and I'm definitely going to have another
one right now just to like rally and
revive myself. Tonight we're going back
to Garwoods cuz we actually went there
on the boat to get that frozen drink.
That's where it was from. They actually
have some cute merch. So, I might buy
something there cuz I'm just like in the
mood to buy some cheesy merch, whether
it's from that restaurant or like Lake
Tahoe. I don't know if they have gift
shops or something.
>> The one that I have already like
>> all ready for dinner. I love that we're
matching in our browns. I know. We got
the goods.
>> Yes. Um but we're going to go over to
the other house. So, they have two
houses. This one they rent out and the
other one is [music] like their family
house. So, we're going to go over there
and that's like the really really pretty
lake view. We're going to just hang out,
pregame a little, and then we're going
to go to Garwoods. And Andy, I love her
because she literally has a content hour
on the itinerary. And it's so funny cuz
it's like a couple's trip. And usually
you would only do that for like girls
trips, but she knows it's important.
Yes.
I was
>> kill.
[music]
>> [music]
>> There you go.
[music]
You just grab it.
[music]
>> [music]
[music]
>> I honestly haven't vlogged in a while
and I told Ryan it's just so hard for me
to like pick up a camera and start
vlogging because I haven't vlogged in a
while. It's almost like a habit. So,
we're just going to start it and it's
going to be the best vlog because we're
starting off the vlog in one of the most
beautiful places in Austin. This is
Commodore Perry. We are finally crossing
off Ludies on our foodie bucket list.
I'm pretty sure Commodore Perry is like
an exclusive members club. So, it's
really like not accessible unless you're
eating at this restaurant. I have been
here for like events and stuff, so I
have seen it before. And I've done some
photo sessions here, which I am trying
to manifest more because it's just so
gorgeous, especially at this hour. We
got here a little bit earlier than our
reservation to like walk around, take
pictures. So, let's go explore.
I got like a tomato vodka drink and I've
always wanted to try like a martini a
tomato martini
[music]
like I was just about to say it's very
garden vibes cuz I have a tomato plant
and I like love to touch the leaves and
like smell it. It smells so fresh. This
place is literally part of the table so
that makes sense. Very delicious. All
that's missing is like flaky salt and
this would be
So interesting. Huh?
>> You don't like it?
>> It's like a bit fit into tomato.
>> Yeah. I don't think you like tomatoes as
much as me.
>> I don't like tomatoes. You see the olive
oil sitting on top?
>> I know. I love that.
>> It's not even
[music]
Oh my goodness.
I have made a fooy bucket list and I can
finally cross Ludy's off bit. I've
already crossed Jeff and CT off bit 1
through 10. What are we rating it?
>> Is it a decimal point?
>> Yeah, sure.
>> 6.5.
>> Yeah.
>> 6.8. I think the desserts ruined it.
>> Okay. So, it's farm to table, which I
was really excited about. I love farm
tot restaurant, but it's just, you know,
it's just annoying when it's like
literally $40 [music] something dollars
for a plate and it's like you get three
bites. That's just absolutely nuts to
me. Um, so that kind of plays a part
into it, you know? But I don't think it
was bad, but I don't think it was
absolutely mind-blowing like I feel like
people say. And then I was really sad
cuz I was really excited about the ice
cream. I've heard so many good things
about it and it was like so icy. It just
like didn't really hit the spot like I
really thought it would. It's funny cuz
the three others also were kind of
slightly let down. Like Jeff we didn't
really like. It was like a smoky steak.
You remember that? It was not It was not
the vibe.
>> Um CT CT was good. CT was good, but we
we decided that KI was better. And
>> I've never been to Clark's Oyster Bar.
>> Oh, wait. Is it on there?
>> No, it's Austin Oyster Company.
>> Okay. cuz I've been there multiple
times.
>> I just went there recently. But um yeah,
so next up on our Austin bucket list is
Con, which I've heard is like so many
people's top top top favorite restaurant
here. Um the Driscoll restaurant just
opened up again. Um I think it was like
closed for a while or something like
that. And then Hestia, which we've
actually been to for an event, but we
haven't done like a sit down dinner
there. I think it's like Michelin
recommended maybe or on the Oh, Michelin
star. Michelin star.
>> Um, and there was this one dish that we
kept going back for because they just
kept hand handing out samples. It was
delicious. It was like a cornfish dish.
Oh my god, I want it again. But we need
to go and sit down. And I've heard also
so many good things about Austin Oyster
Company and Royo, which is a um Persian
restaurant, I believe, Mediterranean
Persian. We are from Georgia and suburbs
of Atlanta and we have Roomy's Kitchen
there. The last time I was there, we
were talking to the waiter and he was
like, "Oh my gosh, like they're actually
coming to Texas." And he was like, "Oh,
I'm pretty sure it's Austin." And then I
was like, "Wait, no freaking way." Like
I was so excited. And then he came back
and he was like, "Never mind. It's
Houston." I was like, "Just like crush
my soul. Why don't you?"
>> I think it's a chain, you know? It's
like now Houston has like no boo. It's
like
>> Yeah.
>> Who cares?
>> I guess. But Roomies is so good.
>> You have peacock and an aba.
>> Yeah, I guess. But Roomies just has a
special place in my heart. We're
practicing first [music] dance.
>> Why are you crying?
>> I know. I was I was balling for a
second, but they dried up, so now I can
vlog. [laughter]
[music and singing]
>> I guess I should probably
>> you lean into this, but
>> I know it's scary. [music]
>> You ready? Three. Two. [laughter]
>> THIS WAY.
>> OKAY. NO, NO, NO, NO.
>> WHAT? OKAY.
[screaming]
>> I can't do one hand. But how do people
like
>> No, I literally can't hook onto
[laughter] your neck. You're so screwed.
>> OKAY.
We got some power on that one. Good
morning. It is Saturday and today I'm
actually working two photography gigs.
If you guys are new to the channel, I'm
a professional photographer here in
Austin. So this morning I am doing a
birthday kids shoot for Kayla Burello.
And then later this evening, I'm doing a
couple of hours at a retirement party
and it's going to be at the Line Hotel.
So I'm excited to shoot that. probably
be home for my first gig around like
11:30, possibly 12:00 and then I have to
leave for the next one at like 4:30. It
starts at 5:30, but I always just get so
anxious. Like I never want to be late to
anything and then you never know about
parking and so I honestly just rather
wait in the car and just edit things on
my phone. This morning I did not feel
like doing my hair. So this is what it's
looking like right now. But I did a full
beat. Hopefully it'll take me through
the day so I don't have to like retouch
that later today. But last night we
practiced our first dance for the first
time. And I didn't show you guys the
song that we're doing, I don't think.
But I was contemplating possibly getting
dance lessons. But honestly, I've heard
that they're like $1,000 for like eight
classes. But still, I'm just like, I
don't know if I really want a
choreograph dance. The main reason is
because I'm already feeling like I'm
going to be so stressed out that day. I
can't imagine having to remember all of
those dance moves. But both of my best
college friends did a choreographed
dance and it looked amazing. It was so
special and they did such a good job.
Even the husbands, like they were
amazing. And honestly, last night I was
shocked that Ryan like got some of those
moves down that fast because he didn't
really have a ton of rhythm, especially
when I first met him. Like I think he's
gotten a little bit better. I just want
some like simple dance moves that we can
have in the back of our head to like add
a little bit of spice. Most of the time,
I'm thinking we'll probably just be
swaying back and forth because knowing
me, I'll probably be crying the whole
entire time. I'm not sure how much I'm
going to vlog at these photo gigs today.
And honestly, after them, I am so beat
because I'm just like yapping the whole
entire time telling people like how to
pose, what to do. Kayla just needs me
for 1 hour. We usually just like get a
ton of content before people show up and
just like family photos. So, that should
be easy. Tonight is going to be a longer
event. And honestly, I don't work on the
weekends very often. So, it's kind of
nice that they're stacked up on just one
day because I kind of end up dreading
it. Even though I love my job and I love
being there when I am there, the
logistics of it all and I guess maybe me
thinking I'm always going to be running
late or something might happen. That
definitely is a factor of like the
impending doom. But, we're going to kill
it at our shoots. I'm just going to go
get my camera bag ready. I literally
just bought new SD cards. And I don't
think I've done that in like 2 or 3
years, but holy I wish I didn't
wait because somehow SD cards literally
doubled in price, especially the 256 GB
ones, which I love. Those are like $300
and they used to be under $100. I'm
like, what the freak happened? I think I
heard something about it's AI's fault,
but I don't really understand. And that
is just like such a big price jump.
Hopefully, it doesn't go up anymore
because I don't know, that's just crazy.
And honestly, I have SD cards sitting
around my house at all times. So, I need
to be better about like taking care of
those since they've gotten so damn
expensive. I'm going to start some
laundry before I head out because it's
always nice to have it running when
you're gone since there's no door. It
gets so loud. So, I just like to try to
be efficient in that way. But, I wanted
to show you guys my outfit because I
think it's so comfy and so cute. These
pants I got on Amazon and they're kind
of like a barrel like flowy but they
have this like lace detailing on the
bottom and they're just so pretty and
like feminine. And then I'm wearing my
jellies. I'm actually really loving
these. These are so comfortable. Like at
first I didn't know how I was feeling
about them, but now I'm in love. They
are just one of my go-tos. I love
anything that I can slide my foot in.
And right now I'm eyeing these mule
slides. They're from Brunch. I've never
heard of the brand, but a couple of
influencers have been posting about it
and they like redo the laces. And I've
been seeing a lot of like really cool
colorful laces and charms on them to
make them a little bit more fun and less
boring. But honestly, I just like them
plain. I feel like I would get a lot of
use out of them. So, I honestly might
purchase those soon. But since our
wedding is in Cabo in November, like I
feel like I'm going to be in this summer
mindset for a while until that happens
and then we can like embrace the fall. I
think this white t-shirt is from H&M and
honestly it's a bit thick. I'm worried
I'm going to sweat. I think I got this
necklace at like Target a while ago and
it's like the perfect blue that matches
the pants. So, I'll make sure to link
the outfit in the description of this
video. I decided I do need a little
caffeine before I go. So, I'm going to
make a matcha, but I'm going to use some
coconut water to mix the matcha. I've
been obsessed with coconut water
recently. I just feel like it gives a
little different taste and flavor.
Always got to put in a good bit of flaky
salt, some vanilla syrup.
Favorite matcha cups are these wet jars.
I'm going to put ice in it. Oatley.
Sometimes I actually like to pour the
milk in here just to get all of the
matcha out. I'm realizing I'm very
particular about like everything that I
use for my matcha cuz I'm obsessed with
these tiny chunky straws.
See? Might need more milk.
Definitely need some more milk. But it's
so good. Yay. All right, let's go down
the road. We have a 40minut drive ahead
of us. She does live like kind of
further out. So, I'm going to have to
find a good podcast to listen to. Now, I
feel dumb because this chunky ass glass
does not fit in my um console. I came
home and I needed to decompress for a
little bit. So, I had a frozen Trader
Joe's meal cuz we have not gotten
groceries in so long. I usually go every
Monday, but for some reason, we were a
little bit thrown off and I was just
trying to finish stuff that was already
in the house. So, I had many temptations
on my way home. I'm currently obsessed
with the chicken Caesar salad wrap from
Sweet Green, but I told myself I had to
eat at home because yesterday's meal was
pretty expensive. So, like, let's just
save a little bit of money. I already
uploaded all of the images and I need to
edit a few photos for her cuz I want to
get that sent before I go to my next
event because the next event I'm going
to have to edit all of the photos and I
know it's going to be a lot because I'm
going to be there for so much longer.
And for my events, I like to give them
the photos as soon as I can get them
edited. So, I'll probably be working on
that all night tonight so I can just
have like a fully free day tomorrow. I
always feel so dead when I don't have a
lip on. But, I just wanted to pick up
the vlog camera and give you guys a
little update. I'm just cleaning the
house up a little bit. We have started
some laundry. I told you guys that
earlier today. Kind of want to just like
get that done, too, because I want
tomorrow to be like a free fun day. not
having to reset the whole house. I'll
probably do a little bit of resetting
tomorrow to be honest, but you know, I
just kind of like want to get a head
start on that. I did the quickest
touch-up of my life. Curled my hair and
just put some blush on and I'm in my
Maidwell dress, which is like the
perfect dress for photographers or like
vendors of any sort when you just want
to, you know, have like a uniform. You
have to be in black. Very comfy. It
actually has pockets, which is super
helpful cuz then I can just have my
phone on me or like an extra battery or
something. There is a parade downtown,
so I think some roads are closed. That
means I'm going to get there extra early
because like I said, I get anxious. I
never want to be late. Just got home
from the event and
this is my reward. It was an Indian
family and they were so nice and they
were like, "You should take food, you
should eat." So, I have some tikka
masala and then I also got some cake
from Suzie Cakes and I'm so excited
about it, but it's like almost 10:00
and I still want to try to edit a lot
tonight. So,
just fueling up. Update. Suzie cakes is
bomb.
Vanilla or chocolate?
>> No. Chocolate.
[music]
Good morning. It is Sunday and we always
love to try out new coffee shops because
there are so many that we can try out a
new coffee shop literally every weekend.
We are at Thoroughfare in Mueller, which
we used to come to Mueller so often, but
we kind of stopped. But such a lively
place on a Sunday. There's like a soccer
game going on. They have the farmers
market, of [music] course. But I got a
strawberry matcha with like a loud foam.
So, cheers. Let's try.
Okay. The foam is not as sweet as I
wanted. Like, it's definitely has a Yes.
I think it's going to be all at the
bottom. Let's mix it.
It's going to be so hard again.
>> Blow bubbles.
>> Oh yeah, I forgot. Ryan taught me this
trick to like mix your drink is to like
blow bubbles into the drink. [music]
>> Are we doing it?
>> Yeah. I got to move a straw around
though.
>> Life hack. It is also a bakery and a
deli and there's like a little market in
there. I love looking at cute little CPG
products. But [music] we got two
cookies. Chocolate chip and what was the
other one?
>> Banana Nutella.
>> Banana Nutella. So, we'll try these
later. [clears throat]
>> Later.
>> What'd [music] you get?
>> Uh, ice latte with oat milk and honey.
>> It's good. It's kind of warm. [music]
Whoa.
I haven't even gotten to the Nutella
part yet, but the banana part is so
good. It's very, very yummy. Also, I
just told Ryan this, but I feel like
coffee shops, wherever they have like
all the lids and the simple syrups, they
should have sea [music] salt because I
am kind of addicted to putting sea salt
in my matcha, and that would just like
make this matcha like 10 times better.
But, it's good. But, you know, [music] I
feel like you can always like optimize
to your taste.
back home [music] and we stopped in the
Mueller HB and just got a few quick
groceries to just start the week off. I
needed to restock my rice. I've actually
been making it myself and it's not as
hard as I once thought it was. I used to
get those like packets seeds of change
which honestly are just so good to have
on hand in case like you don't have time
to make rice or you just like are so
hungry you cannot wait.
So satisfying when it actually fits in
the container. I was worried that I was
going to have like leftover rice that I
would just have to like leave in that
plastic for a while. But got our rice
restock. I haven't really been feeling
super creative in the kitchen lately. I
think this probably due to just like a
lot of things on my mind with the
wedding and stuff, but I just like want
to feel inspired again. So, I think I'm
going to try to make some chimmy cherry
sauce because I made this skirt steak
the other week and I was absolutely
obsessed with the way I marinated it.
And funny enough, I literally just asked
chat to give me like a good marinade and
it said wares, which was so interesting.
soy sauce, fresh lime juice. Like when I
was doing it, I was like, I have no idea
how this is going to taste. But it was
like perfectly cooked. It was so tender.
I loved like a little bit of the
sweetness from like the brown sugar and
the soy sauce, all that. It was so so
good. And I've been wanting to like
really learn how to make skirt steak
better cuz I'm always craving steak, but
the steak at the grocery stores, we
usually get a ribeye and that's so
expensive. But skirt steak is a little
bit cheaper and there's like a lot of
quantity. So, this was $23 and I feel
like I could have this for today and
tomorrow. Sometimes when we eat just
like a ribeye, it's not like a lot of
food for leftovers. So, I'm going to
make the marinade so it can just sit for
a couple of hours before dinner. It's
currently 1:00 p.m. right now. 1/4 of
olive oil,
1/4 of soy sauce, 2 tablebspoon of
woreshire,
half a teaspoon of onion powder, 1
teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of black
pepper, 1 tbsp of brown sugar, 2 tbsp of
lime juice, last but not least, 3 to
four garlic cloves.
I'm pretty sure for the chimmy cherry
you also need garlic. So, I just went
ahead and peeled a little bit more. And
then I'm just going to put some of this
mashed garlic in like a separate bowl
for later. It's not the most impossible
thing to clean this out, but it is kind
of annoying. So, I might as well just do
it all at once.
It's like gigantic.
Just going to give the marinade a little
stir.
Oh No. I got so many compliments
on my set today. It is from Step Active.
I'll try to link it below if it's still
available. They just have like the best
colorways.
You know what? While the kitchen's
messy, I might as well just make this
chimmy cherry because I was also
thinking it tastes so much better when
it like sits for a while and it's not as
fresh. So, we are going to go in with
some olive oil first. Half a cup of
olive oil. I'm going to do a little less
than that cuz that just seems like a
lot. 2 tablebspoon of red wine vinegar.
3 to four garlic cloves.
About a cup of parsley.
I think about 2 tablespoon of oregano.
You can also do some red pepper flakes.
I think I might do without for now.
Lastly, some salt and some pepper. Taste
test.
I feel like it needs a little bit more
vinegar.
I know it takes a lot of effort, but
cooking a little bit more elaborate
meals just makes me feel so good and so
productive and so almost creative. It's
very fulfilling to me because it means
I'm not doom scrolling on my phone and
I'm actually like using my hands to like
do something fun. I think I'm going to
make broccoli as a side. There's a lot
of vegetables that Ryan doesn't like.
Like I thought asparagus would probably
go well with this, but he nixed that
real quick. So, I have to figure out how
to make the broccoli. I'll probably just
like put it in the oven. Salt, pepper,
maybe some Parmesan cheese. I do think I
have that in the fridge. I still have a
lot of editing to do for the event last
night. So, I think I'm going to try to
get that done because Ryan booked us a
couple's massage, which we've never done
before, but we're going to go to one of
those like random places on the street.
like I think it's like a foot massage
place if I'm not mistaken, but they also
have like full body massages and he was
like, "I really want a massage." He was
like asking me to crack his back and I
couldn't. And um anyway, so we're going
to do that at 3:15. It's 1:48. So I'm
going to try to do as much editing as I
can. I just want to feel free from
having to do that when I get back home
cuz I want to focus on just getting the
house like pristine and ready for a good
start to the week.
We're going to Harmony Foot Spa.
>> Are you going to get to walk in the
back?
>> I think I just got beat up.
[snorts]
>> Pretty hard pressure
>> cuz Ryan asked for it to be hard for the
both of us apparently.
>> No, I'm kidding. I don't know. But he as
she asked you and then they didn't even
ask me and I was too scared to speak up.
>> Oil you down the other girl. [laughter]
[music]
>> For a side, I did some broccoli with
parmesan.
Sprinkling on some lemon juice. Dinner
is done. Not the most gorgeous plate,
but it's definitely going to be super
super good and fresh.
