[music] >> Hi, I am Chandan Sarkar and this is my my wife Subhadra. So, I was detected with IgA nephropathy in way back in 2014. So, we came to nephro department and we met Dr. Rohan that time. Then Dr. Rohan suggested after seeing the creatinine to do biopsy and then after biopsy IgA nephropathy was detected. Then from that 2014 onwards I have been a consistent patient of Dr. Rohan all the time till till now. And every 3 months we used to visit him, do tests [music] and get his opinion and everything. Then all this continued and then in 2025, last year. Last year around November he told us that he has found a swap donor for us. Which was a great news and the swap donor means like my wife will give to that that other recipient and his mother gave to me. >> I came across this patient by name Mr. Chandan. He has been my patient since 2014 [music] when I first picked him up after a biopsy and he was diagnosed to have IgA nephropathy. [music] And eventually progressed to end-stage kidney disease by around 2026. And the only donor that they had was the wife who was a blood group A and the recipient was blood group B. While this was going on, I also had another patient. He too was diagnosed to have IgA nephropathy several years back and has been on my follow-up. And he too, like Chandan, has gradually progressed over the years to end-stage kidney disease. But he had the complementary blood group, that is his blood group was A and his donor's blood group was B, who was his mother. So, at this kind of situation, it was a win-win situation for me because I thought rather than subjecting two different pairs to an ABO-incompatible transplantation, it would be much worthwhile to just swap their kidneys around and go ahead with a uh an ABO-compatible but a swap renal transplant. So, with that thought process, I initiated the discussion with both the families. By the grace of God, the donor age of both the groups matched well. The recipient age group matched well. And therefore, we decided to go ahead with the swap transplant. Both the transplants happened on the same day in the on at the same time in the operation theater. And by the grace of God, both of them have done exceedingly well. Both have made a had a successful renal transplant. They are on discharge now, and they are undergoing their regular post-operative follow-ups. I wish both of them well, and I hope that both of them go on to have very good, successful, [music] healthy lives. >> No other doctors, we trusted this hospital and Dr. Rohan.
