[music] at this time [singing] that's why I sing [laughter] for the sake of peace [music][singing] here I leave you all into praise and today is a day of praise and worship if you say let's go until tomorrow it's okay but I'll burn you who you are you've heard me my name is praise and worship so I'll take you wherever you go we study ehe but where did you start musical and you found yourself here Um I started singing when I was a Mtoi when I was I think primary lower class serious the freestyle only but I didn't know it was something serious because the only thing you find yourself doing is performing in assembly primary like who will perform you are just there eh that's it and then of course high school I joined the worship team mafunky I used to perform oh eh I used to perform with mafunky I write some rap songs what M eh but gospel but sometimes we used to mix you don't know the stage you're on you're just looking for you're playing love songs what what the adolescent stage b [laughter] and then people there I remember my bestie was like decide it's secular enter secular ka it's gospel and of course but God had a plan of course I joined university there I had the privilege of being a leader yeah and then of course music leader at some point started organizing some worship events, writing songs uh which are inspired by the word of God. It's not the kind where you just sit there and say, "Oh, that line is strong, but you don't know where it came from." So God has been a journey of growth, challenges, failure, awakening, whatever, but God has been faithful, we are here. Hmm. And you started doing a first song, I laughed at your first song and said hallelujah praise the Lord. it's a joke [laughter] [clearing throat] I'm broke no it's a joke it's a testimony it's a testimony I'm not the first song and now this one he released yesterday I'm counted big difference yes I want us I want you to take us through your now recording journey doing your songs ehe to now I'm counted so um I started recording my first song in 2016 yes I remember it was great I borrowed 10k to record it was 20k I borrowed 10k I paid it and six months you didn't pay 10k and 6 months [laughter] then I still struggled to finish that other 10k I got it after one year eh eh mazee people go here people go there so I recorded there with Gideon Kimanzi m he calls himself GID music it's called with triumph if you see on YouTube it's another song there I'm eh I'm sitting there someone has been through it. [laughter] So I did that first song called we triumph in speak about those who have challenges but we triumph in Christ. Then secondly I did another one called glory and honor but we returned to this live recording. Then first forward we are here now I have done a live recording, a live setup, we called people and set up a screen stage and whatnot. Uh in April 12th this year we did a massive live recording. I told them it was called times of refreshing. Times of refreshing in a place where God said that when people repent and return to him, times of refreshing will come from his presence. So and and people are really refreshed. Everyone who came had massive testimonies and that's when we recorded nine of their songs. We have released two already. Yes. Nine songs. You sang nine songs. Nine songs live. Wow. That's too much grace. We thank God. It is God. It's so easy. But you have one person who decides when it comes to your live recording. I noticed you decided to go big or go home. Go big or go home. Guess why? You gave your best. Why? God is big and he deserves big stuff. Right. [laughter] If David there is a place for scripture he said I will not offer my God a sacrifice that will cost me nothing. Exactly. If it doesn't cost you anything, it's not enough of a sacrifice to God. So God understands that somewhere he said that there were people who were dying of sacrifices, they bring him the money, he is looking for the chicken with a broken leg, I don't know, the cows that maybe are sick, they bring him then the scripture says go and take that to your governor if they accept it, then bring it to God so that gift you can send to the president if you can't send that gift to the president or the king or President Trump, you can't send that gift, you can't send it to God. Exactly. And that's the issue also that I had while recording while doing my YouTube channel. You know people are like ah Miriams to just get camera hivi we record we post and go told me to do it big and even better with what I was doing here at KBC. Amen. Your journey encouraged me about your testimony and you know your faces that you've gone until here. God is good. God is faithful. God is faithful. So you wrote these songs your first first song that you released from the live recording. Good Lord, you are good. Jehovah is good. Then now I'm done. How do you write your songs? Because nine songs is not a joke. Now guess what? Um Jehova you are good is one I think I wrote this year. Not last year. Aha but I have been justified in 2014. Yo eh much yo and yes this hour is God anallow tuire and are 2014 and how many years are those 16 no 2014 like 10 plus 2 year 12 12 years you stayed with a song for 12 years 12 years and I have more. There are many things I wrote in the past that have just settled down until God says it's time. And then circumstances also sometimes you can try to force things, it's not necessary, it's even ministry, maybe it's business, or even dating, then you try like this, that means God is talking to you, he's talking to you, it's not time, I'm not, so I just cursed myself for saying God, when the time comes, I just flow, I just flow, I just flow. So I wrote this song 14 years, 12 years ago. Inspired it 12 years ago. So what inspired it is the scriptures. Um, there are many ways to write songs. So sometimes I read a word like this, I was just reading a word like I've been justified by grace. And I'm like in Swahili it means I am justified. I have been counted righteous. I think Romans 5, if I'm wrong, you can chat GPT there, Google will find Romans says you have been justified by grace through faith. You are justified. To be justified is to be counted righteous. That means there is something called grace, and through faith it gives us a right standing before God. So when I read this scripture I'm like, why do I have guilt? You walk with guilt, you condemn yourself, you condemn yourself, but it's not about your works. It's about something Jesus did on the cross and we were justified. So that line really touched me. I said this is a message that needs to reach out to people who struggle with guilt, you feel like you are not good enough, but just know that you are justified to Christ, you are justified, there is no guilt, and you are washed, yeah, that's it, amen, powerful, not see it that way, yeah, but you know, doing that live recording, one lesson you've learned [cleansing your throat], that you even like to share with the viewers. Oh, first, any project, I know, even Miriam and DJ, you just get to a place where you are humble, you just start knowing, you don't know, you don't get it, so one thing, the greatest lesson, I learned first, obedience, this live recording, I did it in 2022, I made sure it hit me, oh, no need to force me, 20 this year, last year, I planned it, I did it in August, actually, guess what, it was done today. Oh, these songs you see were recorded today. I did it in April, I did it in April because God sent me to minister at a place where we had a youth camp, we had a night, I said, who wants it? I saw that everything wants to be saved. I was like, are you sure I said we want to be saved? Yes, we want to be saved. Then they all saved. And I felt like there was hunger in the dungeon. There was hunger and thirst. Especially genes and young people. Your people are tired and fake. They want authenticity. They want real power. They want to encounter God. Not just the theory. And I saw that. And God put it on me. After that, I said, this message needs to come urgently. You're laughing. And God told me that you're going to do it in April. That August. I knew I was going to plan it. You understood what you planned. Like the one he was talking about. You're already here. You know, we're going to tell you. I was going to do it. And then God brought it to April. And you were asking me what we did. We did it. We did it. One lesson you learn. I want you to also answer with this one. Did you ever imagine that your music would do this well? It's doing so well. Even as you finalize the interview. So one thing is uh let me answer the first one about what you learn. What I learned is to trust in God and God's timing. Everything the Bible says is Ecclesiastes says everything becomes beautiful in its time. If you see that you are trying to force something, maybe you are dating and then you are being attacked by character development, let it go first. Oh my God.
