Video summary
The video documents a full playthrough of the 2001 arcade game *Jurassic Park 3*, which the narrator had never experienced despite its release during his childhood. He explains that he missed out on playing it at arcades because he was around ten years old and no longer visited bowling alleys, only rediscovering the game recently when it became available for home consoles. The gameplay involves controlling a character who must search for accident victims while fending off various dinosaurs, including Dilophosaurus, raptors, and massive bosses like the Spinosaurus and T-Rex. The narrator notes that the graphics are surprisingly good for an arcade title from that era, though he finds the experience somewhat short, lasting only about half an hour before reaching the end credits.
A significant portion of the commentary focuses on the game's mechanics, particularly the unique evasion system that was common in physical arcade cabinets but feels different on a home setup. The player must physically dodge attacks by pressing escape buttons or moving within the controller's range, a feature that adds a layer of chaos to the gameplay. However, the narrator frequently criticizes the lack of variety compared to *Jurassic Park: The Lost World* arcade game, pointing out that players are forced to shoot the same types of dinosaurs repeatedly without much environmental interaction like trees or rocks for cover. He also laments the absence of bonus items such as grenades or snack bars, which were present in other versions and would have helped extend the playtime and difficulty curve.
Despite the repetitive nature of the enemies and the occasional frustration with aiming issues where shots seem to drift left, the narrator manages to complete the game with a final accuracy rate of roughly 50% after firing over a thousand shots. He humorously reflects on the absurdity of the situation, noting that he effectively "mass murdered" dinosaurs in an empty cage area and survived multiple bites from apex predators. Upon finishing, he receives a simple congratulations screen rather than a traditional game over, marking the completion of his journey through all three *Jurassic Park* arcade titles. He concludes by ranking this installment as his least favorite of the series, placing it just above the original 1993 game, while still expressing nostalgia for the days when he and his friends would visit arcades and play these games together.

What's this? What's this? A game from
2001. There's a Jurassic Park 3 game
that I haven't played before. That's
right. It's Jurassic Park 3. The arcade
game. I literally never played this
game. By the time it was in arcades, I I
didn't care about it anymore. I didn't I
didn't go to arcades. I have friends. I
don't know. I was What How old was I
when this came out? I was I was 10. I
was 10 when this came out. And
apparently we didn't go to bowling
alleys anymore when you're 10 years old.
So this has just recently became
available to the main frame. Basically I
I'm playing this because I've got sticks
and stones holding this whole thing
together. We're going to put all of our
work the blind play through. Here we go.
I'm super excited. I think it's about
half an hour experience. This is going
to be brilliant, guys. This is going to
be brilliant.
There he is. There's Paul Kirby. Oh,
there's me. I mean, one of them is me, I
think. Oh,
>> this is Grant. Can you hear me? You're
at sight B.
>> Oh, it's Grant.
>> Your task is to search for accident
victim.
>> Not the copies. Is that Grant? Shoot
him. Here we go. That's right. Run. So,
we're not Grand, but we're we're we're
Okay. Also, the the way I've got this
set up is that um it everything's
slightly off to the right. So, I I I
don't know how to calibrate things. You
got to shoot him in its head. But that
by that factor, I mean shoot it a little
bit to the left. So, I got to be like,
yes, killing all the guppies.
>> Go for the head.
>> Oh, lined herself up there. Oh god, it's
a female raptor. No. Oh my Oh my god.
We've already taken hit. We've We've
already lost some life. This is
terrible. There we go. Head shot.
Oh, that was close. Not going to give me
that one. Oh, there we go. Wait, is that
the plane? Damn, that rotted quick.
Another dilophosaurus
killing.
Yes. More dilopas.
[screaming]
Oh, he's dying. Oh, he's he's exposing
his putty. He's ready for the cup. No,
don't take him. Take me instead.
Oh, he's he's okay. He's alive. He's
running away. He's running to us.
Oh.
Oh,
it's the It's a dinosaur cuz
look at this beautiful graphics. Oh, the
JP3 graphics. I got a life bonus, which
is going to send me into a seizure.
rescue.
>> What? WHAT WAS THAT? SORRY, I DIDN'T
HEAR IT OVER THE SPINOSAURUS.
PLAY THE PHONE ring tone.
Okay, there's an evade button in this
one. You've got like this isn't just a
Don't just sit down when this arcade was
around. No, no, no. You had to evade
stuff. You actually had to body dodge. I
think the uh the actual arcade cabinet
would uh pick out your movements. So
yeah, pretty cool. Pretty cool stuff.
>> Reload.
>> Although I don't know whether I saw I
saw that version of the uh of the game.
I mean, there's no there's no freaking
grenades in this one. So it's it's
definitely inferior to the Lost World.
>> Oh god, did did I dodge? I I saw it come
up for a split second.
You got to shoot the female. She's the
one in charge.
Yes. Oh, there it is again. Slowly
trundling towards us.
>> Oh, I clicked it. Just say it to his
screen for a second. Four-wheel drive in
the open space where you've landed.
>> Okay. Oh, burning makes me makes me
build up gas.
Are these levels we're going through?
This feels very quick.
Surely that got me level two done. We
didn't even finish the health bar of the
Spinosaurus.
Oh, hell yeah.
Weak spot in its jugular. Also, its
eyes. Press escape button. You can get
away when the dinosaur reaches you by
pressing escape buttons in certain
stages. Well, escape. Oh, look. I moved.
I'm moving. I'm escaping.
>> AVOID THAT. [groaning and screaming]
>> OH, IT'S THE CLASSIC SOUND EFFECT.
>> There we go. There we go. Escaped again.
Oh, I'm so good at this game.
[screaming]
>> YES. FREAKING DODGED IT.
>> YEAH.
>> Apparently that was from another game.
911 or something it was called. I'm not
exactly sure.
>> That's definitely not working.
>> What are you talking about? HE'S GOT NO
HEALTH. He's dead. [laughter] That's
definitely not working. Spinosaurus
dies.
You've done it.
>> Oh, wait. Hold on. What's that?
>> That was the T-Rex.
>> Oh, here he comes.
[screaming]
Oh, get him. No, he got the neck. Is it
going to rerun or rewrite the ROM of
just three? Ah, who cares? Anyway, here
we go. More score. These are so short.
Oh, look. We got a Spinosaurus medallion
area two. JP3.
Who knew we'd be on JP7 at this point?
Good god.
>> It seems the accident victims are in the
hatching facility.
>> Of course.
>> Whoa. Avoid that.
>> Oh, yes. AVOID THE FATTY. AH, YOU IDIOT.
[laughter]
There was ONE THING IN THE WAY AND YOU
WENT STRAIGHT INTO [screaming] IT. YOU
ROYALLY PISSED IT OFF NOW. WELL,
shooting a die. All right. Well, here we
go. Look at this innocent creature. Oh,
evaded.
>> Whoa. Avoid that.
>> WHAT? YEAH. WELL, WHAT?
>> OH, OOPS. I FORGOT. SORRY. I I I could
avoid Oh my god, the glitching.
>> Definitely. Reload.
>> This guy just doesn't stop talking. So
basically all I got to do is just keep
on clicking evade when it gets close to
me. What?
>> Yeah, I think there there's some
cabinets that have the directional
buttons and other cabinets that were
motion sensored. So you literally have
to dodge out the way of it.
Oh god, we got 60 seconds. Really? It's
a timer that's the issue here.
>> Reload.
>> That's definitely not working.
>> Well, maybe we need to reload.
Don't die. I've got loads of pennies.
>> Well done.
>> Oh, there we killed it off screen. Yay.
[laughter]
>> Hurry up.
>> Hurry up. HURRY UP AND DIE ALREADY.
>> OH, it's the engine facility.
>> Are we going Do you think we're actually
going to see
>> Amanda
>> Amanda Kirby and the rest of them? We're
going to see Udeski.
Oh, we're going to see Paint Tal Plus
in Olive Gardens. Defeat Raptor and run
away.
>> Well, that's every game. [laughter]
THAT'S MY LIFE. NO, HE BIT MY FACE. Stop
giving his kisses.
Oh my Jesus.
Oh, was I supposed to help? I'm Oh god.
Thank you.
>> Thank you.
>> You're welcome.
I'm the monster here. Shoot it since I
see it.
Oh, this a little bit. Oh, hold on.
There's one coming late.
Apparently, I was supposed to be a
little bit slower with that one. Oh. Oh,
at least I haven't worked out how to
climb ladders. OH, NO.
They worked out how to climb ladders.
Oh, I'm on death store, guys. It's not
looking good. This is like when I tried
to shoot in real life and I had to like
close the eye a bit weirder. Everything
was a little bit to the left. [laughter]
I had to adjust my sight.
Hello. [screaming]
You could see it, right? You could. It's
not just me. I'm not making excuses.
Oh. Oh, I see. There we go. I've
adjusted now. [laughter]
I'm making myself deliberately shoot bad
and it's working.
We got 16 crit shots.
Oh. Oh. Oh. Could have had that one.
NO. [screaming]
I GUESS WE GIVE UP.
It It just doesn't have the same feel as
the Lost World one. I don't know why.
There's loads of them down there.
Oh no. IS THAT CRAMPED? RELOAD.
>> NO. SO OH MY GOD. HE'S GOT legs for
days. Look at him go. He's calling for
help.
>> Sorry, I'm out of bullets.
>> Oh no, there's another one there. I
didn't see that one. I like if they they
get a a bite off of me, then uh they get
away with it. Like that's it. They don't
reset position, try to bite me again.
Like
bye-bye.
Yeah, there's no grenades. There's no
extra little things to shoot out for
bonus points of life. No little snack
bars. No Hershey's kisses.
This is really missing a trick here. The
dodge mechanic's interesting, but you
know, I can only use it for the bosses.
Oh no, that one did reset. My bad.
Sorry. Oh, HEAD SHOT MIDAIR. A GOT me
again.
Oh, what can I say? I'm just so tasty.
Come on. Open the other door. Hi. Oh no.
Why are you kidding me? I love that
little jump.
>> Oh, there it is.
What a what a sassy walk towards me. Did
we do it? Oh, look at them go.
>> Where have they gone? The accident
victims seem to have gone. [laughter]
>> They don't even get names. They're just
the accident victim.
So, hold on. Do we destroy the Spinosaur
right away? Oh, Acuras. Oh, there he is.
parking lot. Is that Grant? Grant, stop
waving your arms. You attract Ah, you
attracted the T-Rex.
Weak point. It's eyes and it's gobb
again. Would you believe
this church has seen better days?
Well, I know. I know. WAIT, WHAT?
THERE'S FOUR EXPLORERS HERE. They're
worth a fortune. [laughter]
We could sell them on eBay for millions.
>> Reload.
Oh my god.
>> Oh, that was good. That was good. I
don't get extra weapons.
>> Reload.
>> Oh, well, at least I know I could I
could tank like a T-Rex bite to the face
and survive.
>> Definitely not working.
>> Can I shoot the cars? Can the cars blow
up? Nope. Although something did. You
see that? It was like an explosion over
there.
No, you don't.
>> Oh, wait. Hold on. Is it the T-Rex? I
think the T-Rex IS THE DOOR. HIT HIM OFF
SCREEN.
>> I did do it.
>> Some of my colleagues are still in the
big cage. Okay, I got it.
>> The big cage. They're still over there
somewhere.
I [laughter] love how they just couldn't
be specific. I wonder why they couldn't
be specific. Life bonus.
[laughter] Area three. Is this the final
area?
>> That's the big cage. Oh, the bird cage.
Did you mean bird cage? Oh, look at us.
We got a This is comedy gold. I love
this.
>> Uh-oh.
We're saved. Thank you.
>> Sounds like Beetle.
>> Thank you.
>> Oh, they make the sound effect that the
toys make.
The react attacks.
Okay. Don't know if I could shoot that
one. Can't tell if I'm a terrible shot
or if I actually couldn't shoot it.
Oh, what? How was I supposed to know
that one was there?
Okay. Oh,
my eyes. WHO WENT FOR ME EYES?
[laughter]
OH, come [screaming and groaning] on.
Well, that one didn't get me. I mean, I
I I don't know what to say. I'm I'm
trying my best here, guys. The best just
isn't working for us.
There we go.
It's hard work
mass murdering all of these dinosaurs.
The problem is there's nothing like
there's no there's no anything. There's
no trees. There's no other rocks. This
is just a an empty cage with apparently
a million pteranodons.
>> Go for the head. I
>> mean, I'll try. Go for the head. Ready?
Ready.
Oh, never mind. [laughter]
We just walked past that one. I shot him
once in the hip and he went, "Ah, I'm
out of here." No, be dodgy hip.
Look at us go.
Oh. Oh. Well, line up and take a chop,
would you?
Yes. Get the guy. Go through. HE'S GOT A
DODGY EYE. [laughter]
He can't shoot properly. They know my
weakness. This must have This must be
what happens after all of the eggs hatch
that we saw in Park 3. Another million
raptor eggs. How do I get him in the
back?
Got to go for the female. Female's the
ring leader.
Oh. Oh, was I supposed to shoot that
one?
I love the dramatic. You know, if you
don't shoot them the head, they don't do
a back flip. They do a dramat dramatic
fall on the belly. No. How was I
supposed to know which way he was going
to come up from?
Disposal port of Terasaur.
>> It's me.
>> It's the alpha.
The one that was cut from the film.
But then, you know, had toys and
everything.
>> Well done.
>> Oh, thank you. Thank you.
>> Oh, did I Oh, did I mean to I don't know
if I meant the dog. Oh, he's got
cronies.
>> Am I supposed to kill his cronies?
>> Hey, reload.
>> Thanks for telling me, mate.
>> Hey, reload.
>> Get that boat started.
>> Hey, reload.
Whoa. Avoid that. Well, I'm trying,
dude. It's not up to me, though.
>> Hey, reload.
>> Oh, no. No. It's coming right for us.
I mean, I you you I mean, there there
really is no excuse at this point, guys.
[laughter]
>> I could say that I'm I'm I'm doing a mix
of actually aiming and then forgetting
and then aiming for the left and then it
working.
>> I mean, do I
Does it really matter what I go for
here? What I get? Reload.
>> Well done.
>> Oh yeah. Didn't even need a dodge there.
Got him on the ropes.
>> Reload. Yes, you've done it.
[laughter]
>> Yeah. Another endangered species
murdered.
Got to love these games, man. They're
short. They're beautiful. Oh, and this
Hey, if this is what it was like in the
actual arcade, dude, you you you save so
many pennies by just dodging all the
time. Heading towards the marina, but be
careful.
>> Marina.
No, we're not going to see a mossaur,
are we? Or a dinosaugus. Oh no, more
flying dinosaurs.
What does Oh my god. Mega jumping
copies.
They just freaking jump.
Look at them all standing. Look at all
those chickens. Oh, see you later. They
don't even want to attack me. They just
want to say hello. Except for these
guys. These want to attack me. Uhoh.
He nibbled my giblets.
Oh, here we go. Ready. And [laughter]
got to wait for line him up. [screaming]
Oh yeah. Ah, [laughter]
great one, D. You wait for the right
moment and then you uh you have no
bullets left.
There we go. Yeah. Yeah. Now we're doing
it. Maybe this is what I should have
done the whole time. Oh, maybe not. What
the heck?
Never mind. I thought I was shooting
them. I'm just glad those didn't hit at
all.
Oh, if they're really close to me, the
the reticle seems to work.
Uhoh. Oh, that's not good. Oh, why do
they ALL WANT ME DEAD? WHAT DID I DO?
OH, THOSE DIALOG. OH, [screaming] [ __ ]
OH, GOD. YOU OKAY?
>> AH, you're okay. Wipe it off, mate.
Thank you. Just cost me another few
pennies. Oh, what the hell was that guy
doing? I think he tried to land on the
boat.
Yep. There we go. Oh, there we go. Just
got to wait. Just got to wait.
Oh, missed that guy. Are we going to see
the spinosaur again?
>> OH, SPEAK of the devil. [laughter]
So, what if you could see the dark side
of me? Oh, there he is.
Right. Where are you?
Whoa.
>> Oh, so I just need to shoot the weak
spot and then I don't need to evade.
Gotcha. Look at it go.
Okay, wait for the weak spot. Yeah,
[screaming]
there it is. I'm not a coward. I'm not
evading you. You click the escape
button. Not me. Okay, take it back. I
didn't realize you had claws.
My guy's very confused.
It's not actually doing anything when I
do that.
>> Hey, reload.
>> Yes, that's right. Look at the boat.
Don't go for the clone. NO, THE CLAW
AGAIN. OH, I actually stopped him.
>> Not working.
>> My teammate doesn't have any uh
what do you call it? Any faith in me.
It's like it is not working. Yeah, I
know. Yes. Yes, you've done it.
>> I've done what? That's the second time
I've killed him. I don't know if we've
killed him this time.
>> Stay on course.
>> Wait, what happened to the other guy?
The one wearing the hat.
Did we lose him?
Ah, casualties of wall. I was way more
accurate that time.
Fair enough. Fair enough. I I I I don't
know what's good, what's bad, really.
Area three. It's night time with the
raptors.
juicy.
Not so juicy. Terrible. In fact, ran out
of bullets. [laughter]
Oh, here we go. Hat trtick. Oh, look at
him. He's using the TREES AS COVER. OH,
THAT'S not fair. You can't just be like
surprise. That That guy D took effort
like Yeah. There we go. Work for it. Oh,
there. You earned it. You earned it.
If you're just going to jump from the
side, that's that's so cheap. You got to
run up run at me. And if I still miss
it, you you've earned it. Look at that
guy. See, he earned that one.
>> Hey, are you okay?
>> No, I'm fine. This is going to take a
million mummy kisses to fix it.
Oh, so we got two Spinosaur things.
Oh, wrong. That was a terrible time to
reload. Maybe I shouldn't spray and
prey.
[laughter]
Now that's a sitting position.
We can just leave these guys. THEY'RE OH
GOD, NO. They be They've become hostile.
I thought if I just let them prance
around in the woods, they'd be all
right.
Why do you sound like a comp?
God, it hurts taking loads of bites on
the face. Hey, look, it's end of Oak
Street.
>> It's a spino. Is it still alive? I think
so. He's like, I wish I wasn't.
[laughter]
I wish they'd put more different enemies
in the game instead of punishing me over
and over. They could at least change its
design,
you know? So they it Oh, okay. That was
fast. Are we just doing like a Oh, we
Yeah, we really are. This is the one
where you know this is the the quarter
sucker. This one. You made it this far.
You're going to get to the end, right?
Oh my god. Stop it. That's definitely
not working.
>> I can't even evade anymore. Oh, I can.
Oh, I can't evade. Right. So, this time
I definitely need to evade.
[screaming]
[groaning]
>> Reload.
>> It's all right. It's all right. Look,
I've got plenty of pennies.
>> Or do I?
>> Now I do. I actually ran out of me
pennies.
No. How am I going to afford lunch?
Yes, it's dead. I think maybe
was one of those Grant.
I don't know. I'm going to assume one of
them is Grant and it's a job well done.
55% accuracy. Three spinos.
Wait, that's it?
Oh my god.
Wow. Look at all these Japanese people.
Wataru furu they did brilliantly
Yoshi
knowi brilliant D crisis 2 hear this
sort of thing didn't they well
you know what I the the first arcade
game Jurassic Park we played them all on
the channel that's it Jurassic Park the
arcade Lost World Arcade Jurassic Park 3
Arcade and this this was the last one
cuz we'd already played Jurassic Park
the arcade or whatever. ever. It was
called the one where we had to catch a
T-Rex, Triceratops, and Spinosaur.
And this 16 years later or 15 years
later, is it? It came out in 2001. So,
it's actually 25 [laughter] years later.
25 years in the making. Was this this uh
this playth through? Wow. 1,118 shots,
50% accuracy. Well, you know, it's not
so bad, is it? I suppose. Game over. You
lose.
Oh, well, usually get a game over screen
if if you know you've lost. Not if
you've won. No, you get a
congratulations. That was sort of like
there. Off you go. Smack on the ass.
Onto the next [laughter] one. Slap in
the face.
Well done. You've played the game. Now
off. Off you go.
Oh my goodness. Oh, where can I I don't
know. I I feel like the Lost World was
nicer because you had way more varieties
of dinosaur here. You had compies,
raptors,
spino, T-Rex, and Dilophosaurus. You had
five enemies. Oh, and Kylo, six enemies,
and four of them were bosses basically.
There was only compies, do
small pteranodons,
and raptors, I suppose, that weren't
bosses.
Yeah, not the best. I I think I think
that's probably the second I'd rank that
second lowest, actually. Just above the
original Jurassic Park Arcade. And
technically, you could even see those
are the original buttons where you could
run left and run right that you could
tap. And even the original AR Jurassic
Park Arcade, I think that one just had
more
>> crazy stuff going on. You were you were
charged by what was it? 50,000
Triceratops at one point.
>> [laughter]
>> It was just madness. Balls to the wall.
I kind of liked it. Whereas this one was
a Oh, here's the locations. Shoot the
same dinosaur 50 times. Oh, okay. On to
the boss version of it. Um, SO YEAH.
WELL, ANYWAY, GUYS, there there it is.
25 years in the making, and we finally
played Jurassic Park 3, the arcade, and
that's it. We played every Jurassic Park
arcade game that's ever existed, I
think. So, if you've enjoyed this video,
leave a like. Let me know in the
comments which is your favorite of the
arcades to play. I know I I still think
the Lost World arcade. It's just it it
holds a special place for me. When I
was, you know, I'd go with friends
birthday parties. We go to bowling
alleys and it would be there all the
time. I'm sure this was I I feel like I
saw this one in person occasionally, but
I never played it. Um I was obviously
too cool at that point. Dinosaurs
weren't cool anymore. I was in high
school and I I had to be I had to
pretend to be grown-up and like adult
things like football.
[laughter]
No, I can't even lie. I never even
pretended like that. Anyway, guys, if
you enjoyed this video, leave a like.
Until next time, I'll see you guys
later. Oh, bye-bye.
