>> Uh, yeah. I mean, just trying to help
the team win.
>> How good was it to get it against the
lefty? I
>> mean, it felt great, you know, just
trying to go up there and barrel up the
baseball.
>> J, you're not having the season that you
wanted to have. You had particular
50/50, of course. Is the pressure free
agency? Did that get to you a little
bit?
>> You know, you ask me that question every
time I come to this light. [laughter]
>> This is the same answer. So, next
question, please.
>> Guys, what uh what's been working so
well for you? I think since like seventh
inning in the last game, you have four
hits, right? Yeah. Like, what's what's
been working so well, I guess, the last
game and a half?
>> Uh, I mean, I'm just trying to go out
there and work to help my teammates win.
I'm just trying to barrel up the ball,
just not strike out, put the barrel on
the ball, and just keep going.
>> What were you looking for on the bunt
there? Were you going for a hit or was
that a
>> No, it was just a a bunt. You know, show
early, put it down, get the runners over
just like I was trying to do in the
first inning. didn't get it down. Still
got to move them over on a pitch that I
could get them over with. And from
there, you know, just trying to help the
team win any way we can. You know, feel
like it's crucial when guys run at
second base with no outs that we get the
run over to third base. So, I tried my
best to do that.
>> Just collectively, what did you think of
the bats in that sixth inning from your
team?
>> I think they were great. You know, just
working counts, getting guys down to
just passing the baton to the next
hitter is just tremendous. you know,
especially especially when we all see
what he's throwing and we see that he's
not um controlling the zone as well. Uh
just keep on passing it to the next guy
until he gets a hold of one.
>> The averages are down around the league.
Uh but you aren't having a year that you
had last year when you did 3030. You're
obviously very talented guy. What What
is your theory? What why do you think
you have had your normal season to this
point statistically basically?
>> I mean, honestly, I don't know. I mean,
a lot of balls that I hit, I hit it at
the guy that's been playing in that
position for 120 years now. So, I mean,
it's it's just, you know, it's baseball,
you know, you line you line out. I think
it was like some day in actually in
Toronto, I had like four line outs and
one hit that day, you know, like it's
just baseball. It's not not lucky this
year, I guess. You know,
>> how do you let that not how do you not
let that bother you? Does that bother
you? Uh, I mean it gets frustrating
sometimes, but you just I just have such
great teammates in the clubhouse that
just keep my head on a swivel and just
help me to just go on the field and
forget about it and just wipe it from my
memory and go and play defense as best
as I can, go run the bases as best as I
can when I get on and just wipe that
part of the game out. Just reminding me
of the talent I have, the things that
I've done before and just keep pushing
away.
>> What is your goal as you finish out this
year?
>> To win a World Series. It's the only
goal I got right
