Video summary
Jazz Chisholm Jr. reflected on his impressive three-for-three performance against the Houston Astros, attributing his recent success to a singular, focused goal: reaching the playoffs and ultimately winning a World Series. He explained that his mindset has been entirely centered on preparing for this ultimate objective, which naturally translates into giving his best effort in every at-bat. This clear purpose seems to have helped him overcome previous struggles where he was hitting the ball hard but failing to put it in play, suggesting that his mental approach has shifted from trying different tactics to simply sticking with what works to achieve the desired results.
The interview also highlighted the strong defensive and offensive adjustments made by the team during the game, particularly in the seventh inning against left-handed pitcher Souza. Chisholm noted that the team did well by staying in the contest and refusing to give up pitches, demonstrating a disciplined approach where they would simply shake off bad offerings and immediately return to the box ready for the next pitch in the zone. He also praised teammate Elías Díaz's pitching performance, describing him as "nasty" and effective at attacking the zone, which provided a significant advantage for the team behind the plate.
Beyond his own stats, Chisholm expressed genuine admiration for fellow player Juan Soto, noting how impressive it is to see the young star mature and shine after meeting him just two years ago when Soto was only twenty. He emphasized that while individual accolades like the stolen base title are nice, they hold little personal significance compared to the collective goal of winning a championship; he views stolen bases merely as tools that help the team win more games rather than standalone achievements. The conversation concluded with optimism regarding the return of key players like Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, which has already boosted the team's confidence and helped them average eight runs per game since their lineup was fully restored.

Chaz, what do you think's allowed you to
to put together multiple games of of
good at bats over the last couple?
>> Um, I know I just we're trying to make
it to the playoffs and, you know, I
really want to win a World Series. So,
you know, I'm just trying to get ready
and do my best to get us there and win
the World Series. That's it. What
>> did you think of the at bats in general,
yourself included, lefties against Souza
there in that seventh inning?
>> I thought we did a good job. You know,
we stayed in it. Uh we didn't really
give up any pitches and uh when we swung
at a bad pitch, we just shook it off and
got back in the box and was ready to hit
another pitch in the zone.
>> What stood out to you about Garcia Jr.
since you've you've seen him over here
in pinstripes?
>> Um I mean he's been always a great
hitter his whole career. I played
against him when I was in Miami and he
was in Washington. So I got to see him a
lot and just to see him come over here
and just shine the way he is. I'm just
happy for him, you know, especially know
when he came up. He was only like 20
years old when I met him. So, it's
pretty sick to see him now. A little bit
more mature and doing his thing.
>> How good do you think Elmo was today?
>> No, he did a really good job. He
attacked the zone. He was really nasty
today. His pitches were working all over
zone and I mean, it's just great to be
behind that.
>> Are you feeling better at the plate or
is it just the results are now being
shown?
>> I just feel like the results are now
being shown, you know? I mean, there's a
lot of times during the season that I
was hitting the ball hard right at guys
and it wasn't dropping and you know, I
just had to mentally learn how to just
let that go and just build off of that
instead instead of trying to try
different stuff and just stick with it.
>> Cappy had the stolen base title the last
two years. You're now one up. What would
that mean to you to to get the stone
base title?
>> Uh, I mean, it doesn't mean much to me
on the stolen base title. Honestly, I'm
really just more into like winning the
World Series right now. Stolen bases
don't really mean much. I feel like
stone bases just help your team win a
little bit more and that's how I look at
it.
>> Since Bellentric came back, you guys
have averaged eight runs a game and you
guys had so many three or less for like
a month, month and a half. Just just
getting him back. One guy that changes
other roles. What does that do for a
team to get a guy like that back and
make out just relax?
>> I mean, it feels good. You know, he's
one of our guys, especially, you
[clears throat] know, that's ex MVP
right there. So, you know, having him in
the lineup, it feels like everybody's a
little bit more confident. You know, we
got Judge coming back soon and and just
other guys that's going to be back off
the shelf.
