Everton secured a valuable 0-0 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, ending a run of defeats with a clean sheet despite missing several clear chances to win. Manager David Moyes acknowledged that while the result was decent and demonstrated the team's resilience after a difficult start, the side lacked clinical finishing in the final third. The hosts dominated much of the match, particularly in the opening twenty minutes, forcing Everton to adapt by cutting off passing lanes and blocking shots before eventually finding their rhythm. Although the point keeps the unbeaten streak alive, there remains a lingering feeling that the team should have capitalized on the opportunities created by players like Brennan Johnson and Jarrad Branthwaite to secure all three points. The standout performance of the night undoubtedly belonged to center-back Jarrad Branthwaite, who stepped up to another level and was awarded man of the match by the commentator. His display earned high praise from teammate James Tarkowski, who described him as strong as an ox, quick, and excellent with both feet on the ball. Following this impressive showing, Moyes suggested in his post-match press conference that Branthwaite's form has caught the attention of England manager Thomas Tuchel, potentially leading to a call-up for the national squad. This development is particularly significant given that Branthwaite missed most of the previous season due to injury, having only played eight Premier League games, and the club now aims to keep him fit while continuing his development. Beyond the first team results, Everton's youth academies delivered strong performances across different age groups. The under-21 side defeated Brentford 2-0 away from home with goals from Melvin Mmaee and Francis Malik Ousmane Ouattara, a notable victory considering key player Brereton Graham is now firmly part of the first-team squad for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, the under-18 team secured a convincing 4-0 win at Wolves, highlighted by two brilliant long-range goals from Jonathan Sangare and a debut strike from Kai Hutchinson, who scored after Will Apps' penalty was saved but subsequently tapped in by the striker. The club's women's team also made their season debut at Goodison Park, where they managed to secure a narrow 1-0 victory thanks to a deflected cross from Holly McNamara that found the back of the net. McNamara's crucial contribution earned her the player of the match award, marking a positive start for Scott Fielding's squad. Overall, while the draw against Spurs highlighted areas for improvement regarding clinical finishing in less favorable matchups, the collective efforts across the first team and youth setups provided a mix of resilience, individual brilliance, and promising results that set a constructive tone for the remainder of the season.

Everton drew nil-nil on Saturday night at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after missing some good opportunities at the end. Even though it was a decent point, it felt as though there was a real chance to grab the three there. Some missed some big moments to be me, Brennan Johnson, and um Kane and Jewbury-Hall as well. David Moyes felt as though it was a decent point at Spurs. He wasn't happy with the performance of the play. He talked about I'm not He was unhappy, but the ball went away a lot, which is what he said. And he wanted a better performance than what we put out. Um it did stop a run of defeats for the Toffees at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. But like I've just said, you can't help feel that we did pass up two brilliant opportunities to get all three points with those opportunities for Johnson and Jewbury-Hall, but it's a clean sheet. It's another game without defeat. The resilience that David Moyes has sort of ingrained in the side is there for all to see. After what was a real difficult opening 20 minutes, I would say Spurs came flying out the blocks, and we had to really grow into the game and start cutting off passing lanes and getting blocks in the way of shots and stuff. Once we done that after the opening 20, they seemed to run out of steam, and Everton grew into it, but I think we're going to have to be more clinical. We're going to have to be more clinical in terms of creating opportunities, I think. The two two much of the game goes by where we have We're not doing enough in the final third, and they're going to have to work on it, do more, um you know, get Grealish fully up to speed, get Tariq George continuing to run at defenders and get shots away and stuff because there will be games against lesser I know Spurs aren't playing well at the moment, both clubs with lesser quality in their side where Everton if unless they can start becoming a bit more clinical, they're going to struggle to beat them as well. So, you know, a decent point it keeps the unbeaten run going, but like I said, there is always that little feeling that maybe it should have been three. But one big positive on Saturday night was the performance of Everton center-back Jarrad Branthwaite. Branthwaite started the season really well, but he was tremendous on Saturday, he really was. Stepped up to another level. I gave him man of the match, I thought he was clear as man of the match at the weekend. And James Tarkowski was full of praise about Branthwaite after the game saying he's as strong as an ox, he's really quick, um great on the ball, both feet. And David Moyes also praised him in his post-match press conference talking about the center-back saying that he should be in Thomas Tuchel's thinking as well for getting back in the England squad. Of course, Branthwaite missed most of last season, he only played eight Premier League games, so we've got to try and keep him fit. We want to sort of develop on that. He did speak to the press himself after the game and talked about the fact he's starting to feel like his fitness is right up there now. He missed the Preston game in the last round of the Carabao Cup. He did hint he'd be involved this Wednesday when Everton face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Hill Dickinson Stadium. We'll wait and see if that's the case, but he put in an absolutely brilliant performance at the weekend, so well done to him. Everton's under-21 side beat Brentford 2-0 yesterday with goals from Melvin Mmaee and Francis and Malik Ousmane Ouattara. Um really good win, you know, they sort of that's what you want to see. And obviously this is an under-21 side that doesn't have Brereton Graham in it cuz Brereton Graham is now seemingly part of Everton's first team squad, certainly for the foreseeable future, so a good result for them to go away and win at Brentford. And Everton's under-18 side won 4-0 at Wolves on Saturday. Jonathan Sangare scored two absolutely brilliant goals the pair of them. Um Both from outside the penalty area in the top corner with one and the bottom corner with the other. There was a debut goal for Kai Hutchinson who signed in the summer and Will Apps scored after hitting his penalty the keeper made a good save but Apps slid in and put it into the roof of the net. Really good results for Everton there. And finally Everton's women played their first game of the season at Goodison Park yesterday and Julie won the game by a single goal. Holly McNamara's deflected cross ended up in the net that was enough to win the game for them. She also received the player of the match award as well. So congratulations to Scott Fielding's team there. Um that is it. Make sure you check out the final word Tottenham and Everton that me and Pat have done. Give this video a thumbs up.
