Jackie Chan & Chris Tucker Are HILARIOUS! | Rush Hour (1998) Movie Reaction | First Time Watching
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
This reaction video features two hosts watching *Rush Hour* (1998) for the first time after years of avoiding action-comedies in favor of horror films like Stephen King adaptations. The duo explains that they finally decided to watch this classic because it was heavily requested by their audience and serves as a perfect "palette cleanser" before returning to darker genres. Upon starting, they immediately bond over shared memories of Jackie Chan movies from their childhood while noting the film's iconic opening music and the immediate chemistry between Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan. The hosts express surprise that neither had ever seen this specific movie despite knowing both actors well, highlighting how much they missed out on by skipping it for so long.
As the movie progresses, the reaction is dominated by laughter at the absurdity of Detective Lee's inability to speak English and his constant physical comedy involving martial arts stunts mixed with police work. The hosts are particularly amused by Chris Tucker's character, Agent Carter, who constantly tries to assert authority while failing due to language barriers or misunderstandings that lead to chaotic situations like blowing up buildings or getting stuck in elevators. They joke about the movie's self-aware humor, such as characters referencing video games and pop culture figures like John Wayne, which makes the action sequences feel more comedic than serious. The dynamic between Lee and Carter is described as a perfect blend of "sweet and sour," where their contrasting personalities create endless opportunities for slapstick comedy rather than traditional dramatic tension.
The climax of the reaction focuses on the high-stakes rescue mission involving C4 explosives, which the hosts find hilarious because it plays out like an action video game with exaggerated physics and timing issues. They laugh at Lee's determination to save artifacts while Carter struggles with his own safety gear that seems rigged to explode if touched incorrectly. The ending scene is highlighted as a wholesome moment where both characters are redeemed by their friendship, leading the hosts to declare it one of the funniest movies they have ever seen since *Happy Gilmore*. They praise Jackie Chan's incredible stunt work and Chris Tucker's unique comedic timing, concluding that the film successfully balances action with humor in a way few other movies achieve.
In conclusion, the video serves as both an introduction for new viewers to this classic franchise and a nostalgic trip for long-time fans who appreciate the duo's enduring appeal. The hosts encourage their audience to share which parts of the movie were funniest or what age they were when first seeing it in theaters, inviting comments on whether *Rush Hour 2* should be watched next based on viewer feedback. They also mention plans to potentially watch future installments if the franchise remains as entertaining as the original, while teasing upcoming projects like a new TV show and more stand-up comedy from Chris Tucker. Overall, the experience is portrayed as an absolute blast that proves sometimes the best way to enjoy action movies is through laughter rather than serious drama.

So, it's come to my attention that I
have never seen Rush Hour and neither of
you, right?
>> So, here we are watching it today.
>> You know, I seen Jackie Chan, Who Am I?
and then I watched uh what's that other
one? Drunken Master. Those were the two
Jackie Chan movies that I absolutely
loved as a kid because well, those were
the two movies that I had and I actually
missed these movies completely. The
reason we're reacting to these guys is
because they've been requested probably
like 500 times since we started our
channel and we have been watching some
really some really heavy stuff lately. A
lot of Stephen King, a lot of horror, a
lot of psychological thrillers. We just
watched uh The Six Sense.
>> We watched that last night. Pallet
Cleanser. So, we're going to watch
something.
>> That was a palette cleanser.
>> No, this is cuz this is going to be
funny. Funny movies are always a palette
cleanser. You watch something funny and
then you get back into the drama. So,
hopefully you guys enjoy this reaction.
If you do, we also have a Patreon where
you can see the full uncut reaction.
Hype the video, like the video, let us
know in the comments section. How old
were you the first time you seen Rush
Hour? That was the first question that
literally popped into my mind. So, I'm
going to be 34.
>> If you guys can think of a better
question you'd rather answer, let me
know that, too. And we're going to see
you guys on the other side of this
movie.
[music]
>> You like that?
[music]
Hey, that little xylophone was tough.
>> I know.
There's like some heist music, though.
>> I feel like I'm playing that Cruising
USA game, [laughter] that old game, that
arcade game
>> where you select the vehicle and stuff.
>> It's like checkpoint.
>> Yeah.
[music]
>> Hey, that's Kent Le Young. You know Kent
Le Young?
>> Yeah. Miles from Lost, right?
>> Let's go. Instantly better.
[music]
He was like a Lincoln Park band member.
>> I was going to say like a Asian Eminem.
OH,
>> let's go Jackie.
He said he looks like a Asian Eminem.
[laughter] He's like Shanghai. What?
>> Y'all heard of Dr. Yay? [laughter]
>> You stupid.
Oh my, he's fire.
>> Escape boat.
>> We shall miss you and we wish you
nothing but happiness as you take up
your new post in the United States.
Ladies and gentlemen, Council Han,
>> what a lovely dinner table.
>> Earlier this evening, Detective
Inspector Lee and a special task force
have once and for all crushed the
gentile criminal organization.
the default.
>> Stupid fool. Get the hell out of my way.
[laughter]
>> Very friendly place.
>> It depends on where you go. Okay. I
mean, our town's pretty friendly, right?
Everyone's just a little dumb.
[laughter]
>> And they move at a slower pace.
>> Don't go to Walmart.
>> Step away from the car.
>> Hey, officers.
>> Put your hands above your head.
>> All right, take it easy, BUDDY. YOU
DON'T WANT TO DO THAT.
>> OH, YES I DO. OH, NO HE DON'T OFFICER.
He just playing officer.
>> NO, I AIN'T PLAYING.
>> YES, he is.
>> No, I'm not.
>> YES, HE
>> I'M NOT PLAYING.
>> All right. All right. Everything cool
now. He down. The gun down. Get back in
THE CAR. JUST LEAVE.
>> He's from Reservoir DOGS, RIGHT?
>> OH. OH.
>> OH. SO, he's working for them.
>> Yeah. Yeah, I guess so. Okay. So,
imagine you're sitting there though and
then he's sitting there like like the
criminals like, "Get out of here.
[laughter]
I'm not going to lie, the movie cover
kind of gave away the fact that they're
both cops.
>> Oh, did it?
>> Yeah.
>> Sorry, I didn't.
>> They're like this. They're like,
[laughter]
>> stop that C4 in the truck. [laughter]
>> That's what I was wondering about.
>> Yeah. Oh, no.
GTA.
>> [laughter]
>> It's like Fortnite.
>> So, he emotes after he does explosions.
[laughter]
>> He paid like $10 for that emote.
>> Guess what, man? I forgot to tell you.
I'm LAPD.
[laughter]
>> That's why he was looking at the C4 all
crazy. He was like, "What is this?"
>> Come on. We're going to be late. Let's
go.
>> Excuse me.
>> Telephone China.
>> Suang,
>> will you be home after school?
>> No. I am gonna pick you up myself.
>> That means he's not.
>> Oh, that was cute.
>> Wait, where's your hunt? Hello.
[music]
>> Is this some Mariah Carey?
>> Was that me?
>> Man, that brings you back, doesn't it?
Whoa.
>> Uh-oh.
>> Is there a problem, officer?
>> No problem. Just rush hour.
>> I was like, how did he become an
officer?
>> He just dropped the movie title.
>> Yes.
>> Oh.
>> Oh, yeah. [snorts]
Her dad's been training her.
Oh no. [screaming]
>> That completely kills my good vibe I was
having.
>> I know.
>> We need to speak with you in private,
sir. Excuse me.
>> I know this is a difficult time for you,
council, but I want you to know we're
going to get your daughter back.
>> I would like one of my people to help.
Let me assure you, council, the FBI
considers this a top priority. We have
plenty of people on the case. M
>> Russ, I am not an American. My daughter,
she is not an American.
>> I understand that, sir, but he's already
on the plane. I trust you would treat
him with the same courtesy as you have
shown me.
>> Inspector Lee,
>> I can't believe you went without me.
>> First of all, if you want to go out on a
date with me, you going to have to wait
on the list like every other woman.
Okay? And second of all, I work alone. I
don't want no partner. I don't need no
partner. And I ain't going to never have
no partner. You know, we were supposed
to be on the same team.
>> Team? This the LAPD. We the most hated
cops in all the free world. My own mama
shame of me. She tell everybody I'm a
drug dealer. [laughter]
[laughter and snorts]
>> She'd prefer that.
>> What can we do? He's on his way.
>> Call the field office. Have him over a
rookie. Keep him out of our way.
>> Well, as long as we're going to
humiliate someone, might as well be
LAPD. [laughter]
>> Please. No.
>> It's a disgrace to my department. It's a
disgrace to
>> Dan. I'm sending someone right over
[laughter]
>> from the FBI. The 10-year-old daughter
of a Chinese diplomat was kidnapped
this.
>> And they want you on the case.
>> FBI want me.
>> That's right.
>> Stop lying.
>> I don't lie.
>> Tell the truth.
>> I'm telling the truth.
>> If anybody need me, I'm going to be
working A BIG BIG CASE for the FBI.
[laughter]
What is this movie? [laughter]
>> I've been needing this movie for a long
time. I like that stingray. That's nice.
>> These ones are a cheek workout.
>> So, basically, they're going to send uh
what's his name? Inspector Lee. They're
going to send him on a goose chase. So,
that's Inspector Lee and Agent Carter.
>> Yo, I need one of those earpieces
immediately. All right.
>> Who is this?
>> James Carter FBI.
>> Warren, he's here for the uh special
assignment. Your particular assignment
is considered G14 classified. Now, why
don't you and I take a walk and I'll
fill you in.
>> Okay. War.
>> Everything in this movie is funny.
>> Forget the little girl. Your assignment
is Lee.
>> Who [snorts] is Lee and what kind of
assignment is that?
>> Lee is a foreign detective. He's a
personal friend of the consoles. Now,
it's your job to keep him out of sight.
[laughter]
>> I just don't want to see him or you
until this thing is resolved. Now, his
plane arrives in an hour. We want to
make a good impression, Carter. It's his
first trip to America.
>> What's he going to do? Take him to the
movies.
>> The bars. I don't know.
[laughter]
>> I feel like he's going to be so serious.
>> Please tell me you speak English. I'm
Detective Carter. Do you speak any
English?
[laughter]
>> Put your bag in the back. No. No. No.
No. No, you put your own in the
back. I'm not a sky cap. I'm FBI. You
understand?
>> I don't think yelling is going to help
his English anymore.
>> That's what I was sitting there
thinking. [laughter]
>> Captain, I don't think this is funny.
No, I'm serious, Captain. Now, I ain't
playing. And you need to call the FBI.
Tell him you made a mistake.
>> I can't do that, Carter. I'm sure that
you and Mr. Lee will have a nice time
together.
>> I'm warning you, man. You better call
the FBI. I'm going to drop his ass off
at Panda Express.
>> Drop this [laughter] case, Carter.
You're suspended for two months without
pay.
>> All right. Well, you can forget about
being mad then. [laughter]
>> Congratulations, Carter. Looks like you
finally got yourself a partner.
>> One little pinky get blown off.
Everybody tripping. [laughter]
Chinese console. That's one place you
can't go.
[laughter]
>> That's the little girl. Say something.
>> Y'all think it's real funny. Get caught
in the big G14 classified case.
[laughter]
I'mma show the FBI. They don't know who
they playing with. I'm going solve this
case myself.
>> Yes,
>> that's right.
>> He's going to show the whole FBI. I love
that.
>> I hope they become like besties.
>> Hey, look. Capital Records. I used to
grind that.
>> I'll show you something first. Look
[laughter] familiar? Just like home,
man. Look, just like home. I ain't never
been to China, but I bet you probably
LOOK LIKE THIS. DON'T
>> MATTER.
LOOK, LOOK, [laughter] LOOK. John Wayne.
>> John Wayne.
>> Yeah, John Wayne, man. The Duke. Hang
out with the Duke. I'll be right back.
You might see one of your cousins
walking around here. I'll be right back.
>> Find them AND STALK US. FIND THEM AND
STALK THEM. STAR MASK RIGHT HERE. STAR
MASTER.
>> FIND them and stock them.
>> You got the ADDRESS TO MICHAEL JACKSON
HOUSE?
>> Never Neverland.
>> Carter, you can't be coming around my
job. That's harassment, man.
>> Hey man, I'm just checking up on you
>> now. Fully legit now. I'm selling star
maps. That's all I'm selling. All right.
My ass. What you Asian gang member
friends talking about these days? You
know anything about a kidnapping?
>> I don't know nothing.
>> Give me one of them star maps for $45.
Do you understand what I'm saying?
>> Well, I might know a little something. I
don't know nothing about the kidnapping,
but I'll tell you this. There's this
dude who's buying up all kind of
firearms, explosives, and people like
he's going to start some kind of war or
something.
>> What's his name?
>> I don't know his name.
>> You don't know his name?
>> For $45, I don't know his name.
>> For $45, you better tell me [laughter]
something.
>> I don't know nothing for $45.
>> Stucky, you don't. [music]
[laughter]
>> He made an easy 45, didn't he?
>> He don't even understand English and he
thinks he's just going to stand there.
Please.
>> Oh, he would be in Chinatown, of course,
when he loses.
[laughter]
>> It will be easier now cuz they have the
translators.
>> Didn't I tell you to wait for me? WHAT
THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ON THIS BUS?
It's okay. It's all right. FBI.
Okay. Wait a minute. Wait a minute.
[laughter]
>> Watch out. Watch out.
>> Why was that the best part? [laughter]
>> FBI, stop this bus.
>> Luckily, a guy was driving by with like
a ton of pallets.
>> I [laughter] know.
>> FBI, I need this motorcycle. Wait, man.
Oh my god. I would not know how to ride
that,
>> bro. That was not him. That was a stunt
double. Did you see that?
>> Didn't I tell you to stay over there by
the Duke?
>> Hey, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?
>> JUST MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS, OWN, MAN,
and stay in the car. Hey,
>> put the gun down. Put the gun down. I
ain't playing with you, man. Think I'm
playing with you? Don't move.
Hey man, FBI.
>> He understood that.
>> I'm policeman. I'm just showing him how
to take a gun from a suspect.
[laughter]
>> All of a sudden, you speaking English
now, huh?
>> They go w [laughter]
>> I didn't say I didn't. You assume I
didn't.
>> Soon I kick your little Beijing ass
right now, man. [laughter]
>> You must take me to see console right
away,
>> man. Just sit there and shut up. This
ain't no democracy.
>> Yes, it is.
>> No, it ain't. United States of James
Carter. I'm the president. I'm the
emperor. I'm the king.
>> Why would they not want my help?
>> Nobody likes you. You can't stop for
nothing.
>> How are you?
[music]
>> Oh, that's disrespectful.
>> You didn't just touch my goddamn radio.
>> The voice [music] is great
American music. [laughter]
>> You do that in China, but you can get
your ass killed out here, man. Let me
show you real music.
That's real music. You hear that?
What if you like both? [laughter]
[music]
>> Hell no. [laughter]
>> I must get to the consulate. What are we
doing here?
>> It's called a shakeddown. Very serious
police work. Now just watch me handle my
business and control the space.
>> I want to help with the investigation.
This is my case.
>> Y look, you can bag me up. When we get
in here, follow my lead and do what I
do. Okay.
Look at that smoky room. [laughter]
>> What's up, my
>> What's up?
>> Is this weed?
>> What?
>> You got a prescription for this?
>> Yeah.
>> Where is that?
>> It's a busting them up.
>> What? I
>> I take your ass. You know that?
>> For what?
>> For what? Look at this.
>> I just cigarette.
>> This cigar weed [laughter]
looking like a cigarette.
>> You better have my cigared.
>> I believe he does.
Remember that when that guy did that
justice?
>> Oh my god. Yeah.
>> What a girl.
>> What girl?
>> The little girl.
>> What little girl?
>> The little Chinese girl.
>> Lee, go outside real quick. It's going
to get a little dangerous in here.
>> I may have some.
>> And the only reason why I ain't busted
your ass cuz you my cousin
>> and the kill ain't Bootsy. [laughter]
>> The word down in Chinatown is there's
this new dude in town. Bad ass dude out
of Hong Kong buying up every goddamn
thing.
He looks so funny at that bar for some
reason. [laughter]
>> What's up, my
>> Oh,
>> what did you just say?
>> He's new. He's new.
>> What's up, my
>> Look, guys, if I have to cut it, it's
not my sensibilities. It's just because
YouTube will do everything in their
power to take my money.
>> He's fired. This is fun. Like, he just
took on this whole bar. [laughter]
>> I made the promise to Suyang.
>> You're right. I have been wasting your
time. I'm sorry. Just let me go in here
and get something to eat. When I come
back out, I'm going to take you wherever
you want to go.
>> Okay.
>> Not drill.
>> Shake on it.
>> Hey, what are you doing?
>> You ain't the only one with quick hands,
are you?
[laughter]
>> He might take your steering wheel off.
>> Well, he can't do like a weird backflip
thing. And
>> he might find a way out of it.
>> I mean, I got to do a beef and bean
burrito.
>> He did. He took it off.
>> The whole steering wheel.
>> Yeah, you can take the whole steering
column apart. We have a taxi cab
approaching. A man stepping out. Asian
about 510.
>> Got someone approaching the gate.
Dropped off by a cab.
>> Got a wheel attached to him. [music]
>> Tell him to intercept.
>> Intercept.
>> We will intercept.
>> Can I help you? [music]
>> Yes. I must see the console.
>> About what?
>> Please. It's very important.
>> Why don't you tell us why you need to
see the console? Huh? We'll tell you
whether it's important.
>> Do you have identification?
>> It's about his daughter, Suyang. Hands
above your head.
>> He asked about the consil's daughter.
>> He asked about the daughter. You don't
understand. I was invited.
[laughter]
>> Yes.
>> I mean, he might be the best actor of
all time.
>> If you think about it,
>> kill him.
>> Is everything all right?
>> Did you see him use that wheel to his
advantage?
>> Yeah.
>> I'm sorry about this.
>> Non-lethal. [snorts]
[music]
[laughter]
>> He went over
>> [laughter]
>> I'll say Jackie Chan is very impressive.
>> Stay away from the window, please. Not
here.
>> Get out of now.
>> Oh, we took it. Don't move, Lee.
Mr. Russ, I think there has been a
misunderstanding.
>> It's all right. It's okay. It's him. Guy
from China.
>> What? Come in, please.
>> He was about to give him a spanking.
>> Mr. Russ, I would like you to meet
Detective Inspector Lee. Excuse me very
much. Oh, yes.
No gun.
>> That was a cool move.
>> Where the hell is Carter?
>> I got to put her up with Look at
>> Say man. Y'all seen a little Asian dude
about this height with a steering wheel
on his arm?
>> Go screw yourself. [laughter]
>> What' you say?
>> I said go screw yourself.
>> You take your little sensitive ass up
there and let me in. Get out of the way.
[laughter]
>> Get up out of this trap,
>> man. When I get up in here, I'm slapping
somebody. I don't play that.
>> What happened, Carter? It was your job.
>> My job to be jumping on off of buses. I
do not do that. I am not Carl Lewis.
>> Who is this man? Sir, I can explain.
Agent Carter has been helping with my
investigation. He's upset that we have
not done our job. Me and Lee are taking
care of the situation. We have
everything under control. We're on top
of it. We're going to get your daughter
back safe and sound.
>> He is very passionate about fighting
your daughter.
>> My gratitude.
>> I wanted Detective Lee to have one of
our best men by his side at all time.
>> Agent Russ, maybe this is a good time to
tell the council the details of my
assignment.
>> Yes.
>> Yeah.
>> Can I speak to you for a moment?
>> Tell them the details.
>> Oh, I see. This must be G14 classified
[laughter]
>> type stuff. First, let me call my
captain and let him know what's going on
around here. Me and I, we'll talk in a
second. G14. I love when the G14 be
coming around. [laughter]
>> Hello.
>> Am I speaking with FBI?
>> Yeah, the FBI. Yeah, this the FBI.
>> If you want the girl back alive, listen
and do not talk.
>> Okay, I'm listening. Let me get a pen.
>> A This is the wrong person to be
on the phone.
>> The drop will be made tonight, 11:00
p.m. The amount will be $50 million.
>> $50 million? [laughter]
Who you think you kidnapped Chelsea
Clinton? Keep talking currency. Nothing
bigger than [snorts] 50.
>> All right. Right. All right. Cool. Cool.
Cool. $50 million. No problem. No
problem.
>> I want 20 million in 50.
>> 20 million in 50s.
>> He said 20 million in 20. [laughter]
>> 20 million in 20s
>> and 10 million in 10
>> and 10 million in 10.
With that, [laughter]
>> what is your name?
>> What's your name, man? You called us.
Why you want to know my name?
>> I just want to be able to tell the
console who is responsible for his
daughter death because he talked too
much.
>> All right. Look, man. All right, hold
up. Hold up. Calm down. Calm down. I'm
trying to hook you up, man. I'm on your
side, man. [laughter]
>> You will receive instruction for the
drop half an hour before it is to be
made. [laughter] If it is successful,
the girl will live.
>> I'm going to get you the money. I'm I'm
going to make sure you get the money and
we can spend it together. You know, when
you get it, cuz I don't even I I don't
even really work for them. [laughter]
>> 620 South Broadway downtown.
>> Oh my god. He just hangs up. [laughter]
This is reminded me of Tropic Thunder.
The guy's calling. He's like, [laughter]
"This is flaming dragon.
>> Take your team and cover the building
floor by floor all the way to the top."
[laughter]
>> God damn.
>> They must not go into the building.
You're right. Let's go tell. Come on.
>> You must put your men back.
>> The hell are you doing here? Where is
Carter? You may be [music] very
confident, but the mere fact that you
know this girl compromises your
judgment. Sir, if we were asking for $50
million, would you be in a place like
that?
>> Get this clown away from
>> That's a good point though. That's a
really good point.
>> Why were we all hiding?
>> What you talking about? I want to hide.
>> You were hiding.
>> Man, I've been down to the top of my
shoe. When I looked up, you was gone.
>> Sir, the area secured. Damn it.
>> Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Uh-oh.
>> Please don't answer.
>> I knew it.
>> Damn. That makes this very serious. I
mean, it's been serious, but
>> evacuate the building right away. Get
fire crews here. We got an explosive six
in Broadway.
>> Dang. He's a little too close to ground
zero, isn't he? What the heck?
There is no way this dude gets away from
him. [music]
I just seen him scale a wall. He's good.
He'll get up there. [music]
He's like, "Woohoo!" [laughter]
Luigi, [music]
>> hey, man. I ain't clean my dude. Jabar,
push you down some more. [laughter]
>> He was an airplane, right?
>> Oh,
>> no. Oh.
Oh my god. Oh,
>> he sounds funny. Lee.
>> I know. Cuz he's just hollering, giving
away his position.
>> No. OH.
>> OH. OH. OH. OH. OH. OH.
OH. That could have been bad.
Wow.
>> Think I broke my
>> Jason, [laughter]
>> what does that mean? What limb is that?
>> Listen for you.
>> Mhm.
>> He got away.
>> WHY YOU DIDN'T TELL ME ABOUT THE BRIDGE?
>> I did.
>> No, you didn't.
>> I did.
>> No, you did not.
>> Tell me something about this. This I
don't know. Okay, come on.
>> It's a remote. Could be nitro cow. Could
be cross delay. Definitely not homemade.
Definitely not American. I mean, it
could open up a garage door or blow up
some C4.
>> C4?
>> Yeah, C4.
>> You ain't never sold this to nobody.
>> How could I sell it to somebody when I
don't even know what it is?
>> Oh, what are you going to do? You want
some of this? Cuz if you do, I'll give
you all you want.
>> Give me a name.
>> I ain't telling you
>> She's only 11 years old. I don't want
her to die. Give me the name.
>> The guy's name is Juna. I never seen
her. June time food chow restaurant
Chinatown.
>> Wow.
>> Do yourself a favor. Get rid of this
guy. He's going to get you killed.
>> Thank you, man. I'mma come back next
visiting time. I'm bring your fat ass
some cookies, man. We appreciate this.
>> That's it right there.
>> What are we waiting for?
>> We scoping the place out, man. We ain't
going to just run up in there. That's
how you get shot.
>> Fall asleep.
>> Yeah.
[laughter]
Absolutely.
>> Say that again. [laughter]
>> No war.
>> Everybody knows who. [laughter]
>> It ain't you all. It's y'all.
>> Y'all.
>> You sound like a karate movie. Y'all
[laughter]
>> I just say it like y'all.
>> Absolutely.
>> That's his whole thing, isn't it? The
>> I know that's his signature move.
>> [laughter]
>> Do it again. [music]
>> A they're bonding.
[music]
>> Hey, let's go.
[laughter]
>> Imagine just driving by that. wouldn't
think much about it actually will be on
you now when you make the drop. Hello.
>> You have what I asked for.
>> I do.
>> I hope now you realize how serious I
[music] am. Take the money to the alley
behind the Fuja restaurant in Chinatown.
>> You have 29 minutes left.
>> Damn Chin. Some greasy You got
[laughter] no better food like some
chicken wings, some baby back ribs, some
fries or something?
>> Chinese food. No soul food here.
>> I didn't say nothing about no soul food.
I said you got some better food. I don't
want that greasy How you going to
sell a big box of grease?
>> That's a ew.
>> Is it good?
>> Very good.
>> What you got?
>> Camel something.
>> What? [laughter]
>> How we going to go about getting this
guy Jun child? How we know he even
exists? Ain't nobody never seen him
before.
>> I know.
>> I love you. My father.
>> That's one of the reason why I don't
have no partner. That's one thing I
learned from my daddy.
>> Your daddy was a policeman.
>> 15 years LAPD.
>> My father was also a policeman.
>> My daddy wants to arrest 15 people in
one night by himself.
>> My daddy arrest 25 by himself.
[laughter]
That your boy?
>> Yes. Let's go.
>> I love their banter.
>> Yes.
>> I better go in first. Ain't nobody going
to recognize me.
>> Okay, I'll wait 5 minutes.
>> Hey, you take my ID. If anything go
wrong, bust in like the LAPD.
[laughter]
>> This won't work. I don't know if this
work.
>> Yes, it will work. Look, man. It's all
about attitude. All right.
Close. Do it fast. Flip it open. Flip it
close. Do it fast.
>> Take this.
For what?
>> No, for two. I'm here for a meeting with
Mr. Juntow.
>> I'm sorry. I don't know Mr. Juna.
>> Look, maybe you don't understand. I'm
Mr. Juna's lawyer, legal adviser. He
done got into some again. He told
me to come down here, and I'm a very
busy, man. I ain't got time, you know,
to be coming down here this late, but
I'm down here. My wife want me to come
home. My baby all over the
house. He need diapers. Would you please
go, [laughter] Mr. J?
>> But I have already told you. I don't
know, Mr.
>> You think I came down here for nothing?
You going to give me some gas money?
>> You got $5. Would you please go upstairs
and tell Mr. J get his ass down here,
then? [laughter]
She said, "I don't know if a situ
>> his interrogation tactics are you."
>> Sure.
>> He likes that either.
>> Camel hump. [laughter]
>> I don't think they were eating camel
hump. That's not a thing.
>> Rascal's chicken and waffles.
>> I'm sorry. I'm from out of town.
>> Some lame. It look like [laughter]
>> someone someone's food just got sniffed
by him. [laughter]
Damn, this guy's serious, isn't it?
>> The music and everything.
>> That's a nice break room.
>> Wait,
>> he's behind it all.
>> Get the girl out of here. Make sure
those two don't leave.
>> I was hoping for once it wasn't us.
[laughter] I was like, "Come on."
>> I don't think I've laughed this hard
since Damn Happy Gilmore, like a year
ago.
>> So funny.
>> Yeah.
>> It's funny cuz it's like supposed to be
an action movie, but it's just so
hilarious.
>> Was that cocaine?
>> I feel like you need more coke than
that, right?
[music]
>> Her necklace will see you. It's about
time.
>> Honestly, I didn't expect her to be in
the city. Like, I thought they would
like, you know, move her out.
>> What's up, man? What y'all watching?
[laughter] What y'all watching?
>> Where Jun at? Why y'all so quiet?
[screaming]
>> I came down here to see Juntown cuz he
told me to come down here cuz I'm his
half brother from Beijing.
I'm black. We all the same. I'm a hood,
man. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Okay.
You going to kill me? All right. If you
going to kill me, put the gun down.
Fight me like a man. That's right. Fight
me like a man. Anybody can shoot
somebody. That's what I'm talking about.
Bag back. Give me some room. [laughter]
You don't know who you messing with.
>> Whoa. [laughter]
Which one of y'all kicking me? Me.
[laughter]
He tried to be like Lee.
>> [laughter]
>> He almost out of it.
>> Let's talk about this, man. Hold a
minute. No, no, no. Treat. What? What? I
mean, it's a misunderstanding. Come on.
[laughter] Let's pray about this. Come
on.
>> Let's pray. FBI, huh?
>> No, I ain't FBI. I'm a security guard. I
work at the mall.
>> Wipe [music] yourself off. You're
bleeding.
>> Oh, hell no. No, he just playing, man.
He playing. He need that. [laughter] He
cut me loose. Let me go. He's
[laughter]
just playing it.
[laughter]
I like how he uses a lot of props. Like
he keeps using the background like
>> Yeah, he's awesome, dude. Like he's like
a WWE star.
>> You see the synergy?
>> YEAH. [laughter]
>> We kick y'all ass. [laughter] Oh yeah,
>> he rolled out. You saw that?
They're the best cop duo ever.
Dang.
Is
>> that my gun?
>> That is my gun.
>> How you going to chop the goddamn bad
out the window? [laughter]
[screaming]
>> He almost blew his up.
>> [laughter]
>> I got everything UNDER CONTROL. DON'T
WORRY ABOUT NOTHING.
>> JESUS. Mary and Joseph. Dan, I want
these two back at the consulate
immediately.
>> If they think this guy's such a screw
up, how does he have a job? [laughter]
Like, he's just blowing things up all
the time. They're like,
>> maybe cuz he's still securing the
arrest. It's like, [laughter]
>> get your hand off me. Hey, man. You with
me?
>> Oh, is this their going to get in
trouble moment?
>> We were making the drop. Han was about
to get his daughter back and you two
screwed it up. Oh, this assignment
Carter case closed.
FBI,
>> it was all my fault. Lee would never do
anything to jeopardize your daughter's
life.
>> It's a little too late for apologies,
sir.
>> Oh, boy.
>> Ransom is now 70 million. I will call
tomorrow with instructions.
>> 70 mil.
>> It's like a Taylor Swift album.
[laughter]
>> Jesus.
>> Sorry, man. Be sorry for so young. Could
you imagine if this movie ended right
now though? The bitter taste in their
mouth.
>> That would suck.
>> They're going to get back together
somehow.
>> They have to.
>> I think he's going to jump off the plane
or something. [laughter]
>> No, baby. That's Tom Cruz, not Jackie
Chan. Tom Cruz.
>> Thomas.
>> Snake.
>> Have the money in the upstairs control
room. Be sure to make no more [music]
mistake.
>> He's like, you got to do this
>> for 70 million. [laughter]
>> [laughter]
>> Now get your ass up now. We got work to
do.
>> Go away. I've disgraced myself.
>> Leave.
>> What about the little girl? What about
me?
>> Leave me alone. A man like you could
never understand.
>> A man like me.
>> You are devoted only to yourself. You're
ashamed of being a police officer. You
dishonor your father's name.
>> Look, you don't know nothing about my
father.
>> You say your father is a legend.
>> My father was a legend. My father was
killed making a routine traffic stop in
broad daylight by some punk who didn't
want no ticket when his partner supposed
to get out the car and backed him up but
never did. My father was just as much
devoted as you. And now he's dead. And
for what? A traffic ticket to some punk.
You tell me what's the honor in that.
>> You believe in your father waste his
life. That he died for nothing.
>> Prove me wrong.
>> For 50 years
in control of Hong Kong. Juna was the
most powerful crime lord in Southeast
Asia. British tried to close down his
operation, but uh we failed.
>> But why the council's daughter?
>> Detective Inspector Lee helped me raid
every known asset of Gentile's
operation. We confiscated millions in
weapons and cash and a collection of
Chinese art that was unsurpassed in the
world. Pay the money.
>> Mhm.
>> Of course it is.
>> I mean, if he's just got 70 million, are
they giving them time to liquidate
anything? Cuz if he's just got 70
million cash, you better pay that.
>> They're already there.
>> I am pleased to present 5,000 years of
China's history and heritage. The first
thing we got to do is clear out this
riff rack. If anybody stay behind, they
got something to lose. Wait right here.
I'll be right back.
[laughter]
>> Mhm. That's good thinking though.
>> Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen.
>> God damn it.
>> I'm Detective Carter from the LAPD.
>> We got Carter down here.
>> All right, everybody. Take care. Hold
your positions. What is going on?
>> GET YOUR OLD ASS OUT BUILDING. Come on,
lady. Put your ass down. GET OUT OF
HERE. EXIT OVER THERE. YOU GOING TO GET
YOUR HEAD BLOWED OFF.
>> Somebody dab Carter.
>> [laughter]
>> He's hilarious.
>> Guys, we had a super short stint with
comedy. We never got to Chris Tucker,
but I wanted to watch his standup
material.
>> Oh, I didn't know he's a comedian.
>> Hard. Six blocks of C4 are wired to your
daughter in a car outside.
>> Oh, he got that Uzi Suzie. You know,
before the changeover, most of this
exhibition was in the hands of a single
private collector. I worked most of my
life to acquire and catalog these
priceless pieces that you see before
you. And then in one fell swoop,
>> villains,
>> it was taken away from me.
>> Man, this ain't Indiana Jones.
>> I shall be paid in full. Don't move. She
dies if I press this button. Just be
patient. The transportation will be here
shortly. [clears throat]
>> Hey. Hey, man. I was just going to tell
you who's in the red zone. Cops all over
this place.
[laughter]
>> You know I can do that, did you? Put
your hands up. Put your hands up. I
ain't going to kill you this time. I'm
just going to KICK YOUR ASS.
>> [laughter]
>> TELL YOUR friends about me.
>> He's an actual cartoon character.
>> Oh, shoot. And she's going to have to
fix it because she was doing the
explosive thing. She failed. Yes.
>> We've been looking for you. I'm
Detective Carter from the LAPD.
Everything is okay now. Okay. I'm going
to take you to your daddy. All right.
And the first thing I'm going to do, I'm
going to take this vest off you.
>> No, don't touch it. I heard them say it.
It will explode.
>> Okay. Yeah, I think it'd be safer if we
leave it on. Okay, don't don't don't
move.
>> Where are you?
>> Oh my gosh.
>> OVER.
>> DON'T MOVE.
>> HOLD YOUR POSITIONS. Godamn it. Do not
draw your weapon.
>> I think we'll call that an evening.
Thank you. And good night.
>> That was a hell of a distraction.
>> I know.
>> I got something for you. Got something
you want, huh? I got your bomb right
here. Suya.
>> PAPA.
>> NO.
>> Want to blow some up? Come on, push the
button.
>> Oh, this is a gamble.
>> Push the button.
>> What are you doing? I'm just playing
along.
>> Come on. Push the button.
>> Yeah. Come on. Push her button. Oh.
[laughter]
>> Blow everybody up.
>> PUSH THE GODDAMN BUTTON.
>> You heard what she said.
>> What you going?
>> Oh no.
>> No. No.
>> It's okay. She's professional. You must
take the vest off. Just just give me a
second. There's a trigger on this vest.
It'll blow if I take it off.
>> That'd be hard cuz every every vest is
built different.
>> Mhm.
>> Haven't done this before.
>> You know, like some guys like they can
only work on like Chevys.
>> I don't know how to work on a sign. DO
YOU
[music]
>> the escape plan?
>> Are glow. Sugar is sweet. And so are
you.
>> Oh,
>> is she really just guessing like that?
>> The remote can still set it off. Get rid
of it. Is she okay?
>> Yes.
>> I know THAT AIN'T THE BOMB. TAKE THE
BOMB OUTSIDE. TAKE THE BOMB OUTSIDE. You
can call. Yeah. Take it over some time.
[laughter]
>> Oh my god. [music]
>> Oh, and he's trying to save the
artifacts.
Whoa.
>> [laughter]
>> Oh man.
>> You know they're going to do it big for
the end of the movie. We got to climb up
the towers.
>> Meet me on the roof.
>> Roger.
>> If I got a direct line to the pilot and
I'm like, "Meet me on the roof." And he
goes, "Roger." I don't trust his ass.
He ain't my crew.
>> I've been looking for your sweet and
sour chicken ass. [laughter]
>> Well, your boys ain't here, man. Where
you at? They all alone.
>> I kill him.
>> Go ahead.
>> Yeah.
>> I don't even like it. Go ahead.
[laughter]
>> Put your gun down. Fight like a man.
>> What' you say?
>> Fight like a man.
>> Come on. Put the gun down.
>> Same time.
>> He's not going to He's not going to He's
not going to.
>> Oh,
>> that was some Clint Eastwood stuff.
>> That was like a bicycle kick.
>> Ain't that what he said in the beginning
of the movie? Clint Eastwood.
>> Wipe yourself off, man. You dead. Damn.
>> Oh my god. He has that vest on.
Where does everyone bow these disposable
guns at? Cuz every time they get to
shoot them, they just toss them out.
>> It's like a video game.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh,
[laughter] he's like wacky chain.
>> Whoa. Whoa.
>> [screaming]
>> Oh, he's about to get the scarf face
ending. [music]
>> The world is yours.
>> Yeah, with all the money and stuff.
>> Thank you, God.
>> It's like a survivor challenge. He's
down there chasing money.
>> Chasing butterflies.
[laughter]
>> Oh Oh.
Uh-oh.
>> [music]
[screaming]
>> Um,
you know,
[laughter]
help do something. Hey, be cool, man.
Hang on.
>> You know he did.
>> Hang on for about an hour. I'm going to
go get dam. I'll be right back.
Jump there.
Oh,
[laughter]
thank you. Thank you. Um, I mean, what
the hell are you doing? I just being
polite.
>> Well, next time be polite to my nuts.
>> Sorry.
Thank you.
>> This feels like the end of like a Die
Hard movie. [laughter]
>> I owe you everything. only your
friendship.
>> Suya. Oh, look who's here.
>> Oh,
>> what took you so long?
>> I think this belongs to you.
>> That was her necklace. I thought that
was like a gang affiliation thing.
Stupid ass. Sorry. Should have known
that.
>> We were just coming by to tell you what
a great job you did yesterday. And when
you come back, there's going to be an
FBI badge waiting for you.
>> You serious?
>> Yeah. Oh, yeah.
>> Come on, man. Don't be playing.
>> Are they serious?
>> I don't know what to say. It's It's like
a dream come true. I never believe that.
>> I got an idea though. I got an idea. Why
don't y'all take that badge
>> and shove it up your ass? [laughter]
>> All up in your ass.
>> Thankfully. I'm glad he said that.
>> they toyed with him. [laughter]
>> He's trying to get back to Cali.
>> What's up? What's up, man? You ready to
go?
>> Yep.
>> May I offer you some peanuts?
>> You never told me you spoke Chinese.
>> I never told you I didn't. You assume I
didn't. Man, this is cool, man. Hans let
me go to Hong Kong with you. You know I
ain't been on a vacation in 5 years.
>> We can hang in my crib. I will show you
my hood.
>> Now you can show me a couple of them
Chinese girls. Can I get over there? I
want a massage. I'm going to get buck
wild.
>> No [laughter] police work for two weeks.
He's Deshan Watson.
>> 15 hours.
>> 15 hours? What we going to do for 15
hours?
>> Listen to your song.
>> Listen to me.
[laughter]
>> Action.
>> Don't look. Don't smite.
>> What is this about your daughter?
$50 million? What you think you got?
Kelsey Clinton. $50 million. [laughter]
What you think you got? Kelsey,
[laughter]
>> this movie was so much funnier than the
bloopers, actually.
>> MHM.
>> KILL YOUR ASS.
[laughter]
>> You know, all that other stuff, but you
don't know his name. What's
>> wrong with you? [laughter]
>> My daddy once cut catch a bullet. Caught
caught a bullet. Caught a bullet.
>> Caught a bullet. [laughter]
>> Man, this is cool. Hung sending us to
Hong Kong. What's that line?
[laughter]
>> That was wholesome.
>> All right. S tier movie.
>> Yeah.
>> Was that one of the funniest movies I've
ever seen? It really has to be.
>> Yeah.
>> I don't think I've laughed that hard
genuinely since we watched Happy
Gilmore.
>> Yeah.
>> Hilarious.
>> Happy Gilmore had me rolling from the
beginning of the movie to the end of the
movie. And this movie was right on par
with that to me. All right, so uh Jackie
Chan was phenomenal. I just want to get
that out the way because obviously
>> Chris uh Chris Tucker is unbelievably
funny, right? Like that's a
>> once in a generation type
>> ability to make people laugh, right? Um
Jackie Chan is wrapped up in a different
package. He's super wholesome,
especially in the end credit scene. I
don't know how much of that's going to
make editing, but um
>> all the bloopers and stuff, amazing guy,
but his ability to do these stunts was
so cool,
>> right? And it was like the coolest type
of choreography, I guess. So, did you
enjoy the film?
>> I had so much fun. I thought that was a
great film. I'm so mad I missed that in
life, I guess. But I'm actually happy to
have watched it here, but it was a great
introduction to Jackie Chan. Like, I
feel like I definitely need to see more
of that guy. I feel like you needed to
see that because uh I mean you're like
half Asian and you did a really good job
taking all the jokes. You did you did
really good. So
>> Well, they're I mean who takes them
serious, you know?
>> Well, people do.
>> I know.
>> Um so I thought the movie was hilarious.
I really did. I thought the chemistry
between both of the actors was just so
good, man. I think that it was like I
mean it was like sweet and sour. You
know what I'm saying? Literally, it was
like sweet and sour put together.
>> You say sweet and sour chicken ash.
>> Sweet and sour chicken ash. Yeah. And
that's what it was like. It was just a
beautiful combination and it just turned
out freaking great. Awesome. So good
that I would pay $1.99 for it.
>> Yeah,
>> that's how good it was.
>> It was great.
>> Okay, so um S tier movie 100% one of the
funniest movies I've ever seen.
Hopefully Rush Hour 2 is just as funny
as this one because we are watching that
one next, guys. We're going to watch
that one and I know there's a Rush Hour
3 also. If Rush Hour 2 is good and you
guys enjoy that one, we'll watch Rush
Hour 3. But if the franchise falls off
like so many have in the past, then you
know, I don't know if we'll watch it.
But if it's good, we'll 100% watch it.
So, that'll be up to you guys.
>> And uh we're also starting a TV show.
>> Will that be out by the time this is
out? I'm not sure. But guys, always
always just let us know in the comments
what you guys want to see cuz we
definitely take your input%. Yeah, for
sure. Um
>> yeah. So, if there's any more Chris
Tucker, please, please, please, please,
please put it in the comments. Let us
know. Any more Jackie Chan, I'd be
totally down to watch it. I prefer to
watch some of his mainstream movies cuz
like I said, the two that I've seen, I
don't know if those were considered like
big films at the time
>> or if uh
>> I just happen to have them cuz my
grandma got them from the Salvation
Army. Yeah.
>> But um [music] they were good. So
there's any more Jackie Chan movies,
please let us know. And before we get
out of here, babe, what was the funniest
part of this movie to you?
>> When he answered that ransom call.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
>> He was just like the guy's [laughter]
serious. He's like 50 million. He's like
in shock. He's like 15 million.
>> He's like, "Who'd you kidnap?" Chelsea
Clinton.
>> Oh my god.
>> That was hilarious.
>> That's It's just funny as hell because
like it's so like it's a perfect line.
Like if you want $50 million, you better
have kidnapped Chelsea Clinton.
>> No.
>> Like there's not too many people on
earth you can kidnap and expect $50
million for. Like Jesus Christ.
>> And after she Yeah. I'm just saying
that's a lot. All right. Uh like,
comment, subscribe, hit us up on Patreon
if you want to see the full uncut
reaction, guys. Like the video, hype the
video, share the video, and yeah, we're
