Video summary
The Sports Time Pinoy Ninja Season 2 championship round marks the culmination of an intense competition where only ten elite athletes remain to conquer a newly upgraded obstacle course. Hosted at the Bridgetown Obstacle Park in Pasig City, this massive six-thousand-square-meter facility features twelve distinct obstacles across five different courses designed for all abilities and age groups. The event is organized by the Pilipinas Obstacle Sports Federation under the Philippine Olympic Committee, emphasizing inclusivity while pushing participants to their limits through a series of rigorous physical challenges that test speed, strategy, and mental fortitude beyond mere athletic ability.
The championship round introduces significant changes from previous rounds, including new obstacles like the Z-wall, inverted walls, tilting monkey bars for men, and extended cargo net climbs. Participants face strict rules with three attempts per obstacle, where procedural faults or failures result in time penalties that can disqualify them if not corrected within a specific window. The course culminates in two distinct final challenges: an initial leg featuring various technical maneuvers like the 8-foot wall and under-over sequences, followed by the OCR 100 race which includes flying monkey bars, balance beams, warped walls, and Tarzan swings before athletes must ring the bell to complete their run successfully.
In this high-stakes environment, a diverse group of finalists showcases unique strengths, ranging from track and field specialists like Faith, Sam, Kat, Aaron, and Leopold to powerlifters such as Juliana and Renee. The competition highlights how different athletic backgrounds influence performance; while some athletes dominate with raw speed or explosive strength derived from their primary sports, others must adapt quickly to the specific techniques required for obstacle navigation. Notably, all female finalists managed to complete their runs without violations in this leg, demonstrating exceptional endurance and strategic adaptation despite facing taller walls and longer monkey bar sets that differ significantly from earlier rounds.
As the first leg of the finals concludes with every participant successfully finishing their course, the atmosphere is filled with relief and excitement rather than elimination failures. The athletes reflect on their strategies, acknowledging the need to balance speed with careful execution while managing fatigue over long distances. With no violations recorded among the women's finalists in this round, the event celebrates empowerment and resilience as these top-tier competitors prepare for subsequent rounds where they will face even larger versions of familiar obstacles alongside entirely new challenges that demand peak performance from every single athlete involved.

Players from men and women category
>> [music]
>> as fourth time ultimate champion.
The that that one in the women's
category.
We have here Juliana also coming from
the wild card round.
She has something to prove here for
>> [music]
>> Okay.
Let's go. Let's go, Juliana. Let's see
how you
do the balance beam.
Again, very different from the
from the ones we had in the semi-finals.
This is a straight a long straight bar.
Okay, so better to [music] look forward
than to
Yes, correct.
Okay. Good. Good.
They know this. They know how to do
this. They've been doing this
since the start.
And please do, of course, for Juliana.
Okay. Being the tallest female
competitor, let's see how she uses the
height her height
to her advantage.
>> [music]
>> Okay, so may
previous male participants. Yes, they
are um
leaving nothing.
They are giving it all now
we'll be seeing different techniques
different strategies and
of course first time first time
movements for us to see here.
>> [music]
>> Obstacle course athletes.
And hopefully my next competition at
then.
Initial competition for the movement
pattern. Yes, probably.
In no time I can work class style.
Yes, hopefully um.
But you know these people here these are
these are just people who tried out we
have no little to no experience in
>> [music]
>> in obstacle sports but look at them now
the finals they are breezing through
these guys. Oh, you cannot miss you
cannot miss an obstacle for that is a
few seconds off your time already.
Okay, keep pushing Juliana.
And you're done.
They on to the last.
Little bit of
final part.
Different [music] part in the
girls it is just the
Monkey bars but a much longer longer.
[music]
Longer set of monkey bars.
Yes, but from
Semi-finals to the previous here now.
Okay, there we go. Nice one Juliana our
first [music] female competitor.
>> And the first person in our women's
final is here with me Juliana.
Congratulations.
Hi five
okay, so how are you feeling after your
run?
Which part you may do not challenge her?
How are you able to sustain your
endurance throughout the run? You need
to see more than the luggage you have
finished line.
Okay, good good motivation you may not
be in the end. All right,
congratulations once again and we'll see
how your competitors fare.
>> [music]
>> Okay,
proper here we have it. Faith, the
number the number one female contestant
since the tryouts for
and she is here now in the first leg of
the finals.
Slowed down in the first but second and
third she's just going for it. [music]
Yeah, I I I think she'll still be the
number one here in the first leg.
Okay.
Must win technique than for the in the
government in the end.
There.
One more one more. Cannot afford cannot
afford to get lost.
Moving moving.
>> [music]
>> Yes, but generally
and
good technique.
Yes, you're correct there a rope. Oh,
almost.
If not, you'll have to start from the
start. Okay, let's see.
Oh, spider woman. And a lot of strides.
Yes, but
no one is taking their time for here in
the
netted [music] wall.
All the direction of the wall.
Wall in the end.
And that's the flexibility [music] of
the hips.
Okay.
And the jump. There you go.
Okay, on to the last. On to the last.
You are the last contestant [music]
here in the first leg. Make an
impression.
Almost. Almost. Monkey
bars still got you.
And that's why she is number one so far
in all of the legs.
>> Our next finalist here with us is Faith.
Congratulations, Faith, for that run. So
very smooth. And I'm going to momentum
at the start. How are you feeling after
this run?
>> I'm a good player at the same time.
Happy for since
I'm smooth for
>> I'm going to What was your strategy
going into this run?
>> Um
Speed run for and also the momentum for
better
Um to be honest, first time to pass the
momentum.
So, what I put on the bottom
in a familiar run for sure. And then you
put
>> My gosh, Faith.
You need to run a lot. I'm going to run
a lot. Congratulations. And we're going
to see how your opponents were.
>> [music]
>> Okay, another track athlete for Prof. We
have Sam here ready to take on the
finals.
>> I'm going to get in track versus track.
>> Yes, but
and what non-track so we'll see her
later.
But let's go.
Okay.
Okay, knees down. Okay.
Let's see how she'll do.
Reset. Look forward. Look ahead. Look
ahead.
She's She's somewhat looking straight
forward, not really at her feet.
Okay, over the wall.
Familiar again.
Between, under.
And smaller over. [music] Okay. Woah.
Okay. And we're seeing a
a swing technique.
She is a power lifter. Is it? Uh no, no.
Track and field. Track and field. Yes.
Okay.
So
and then you lift
I think as one of the shorter
competitors Oh, there we have a slip.
First slip here in the finals.
Okay, find your grip.
Go.
Okay, last last
>> [music]
>> last two last two Oh, last one panel.
So
Yes, prof, cuz they're two in the same
direction.
Okay. Where did you miss? Oh, yes.
Again.
No.
No hesitation here in the finals.
Giving it all they have for this first
leg.
Just to
>> [music]
>> remind for the audience the times for
for the first leg and the second leg
will be added. So, you really have to
give your all in both.
Okay, last. Oh, second to the last.
Oh, little misdirection there.
Then, over.
Let's go. There.
Rush, rush, rush. Keep pushing.
Oh, no. I think I'm still going to have
a minute. Okay, skipping a few.
All the way, all the way.
Imagine in the last event.
Yes,
that's the last part.
>> Our third finalist here in the women's
category. Of course, we have Sam.
Congratulations. How are you feeling
after your run?
>> Super tired, but fulfilling.
>> I really love that. I know that there
were some parts or some obstacles where
you had to pick yourself up again. And
you making mindset, what did you do to
re-strategize?
>> Um,
take it slowly, but surely
station.
>> I love that. And how are you feeling now
that we're going to check out your other
opponents?
>> Sorry. Can you say that again?
>> How are you feeling now making it your
other opponents? Then [music]
>> Um, I'm super excited for them
they can finish it. Um, surely without
injuries.
>> All right, Sam. Congratulations. We're
going to check out your other opponents,
but stay tuned and stay waiting.
>> Now, we have Kat. Another track athlete,
our third track athlete from the women's
division.
Let's see how she goes. It's um,
I think the track athletes have been
dominating the
these sports time courses in the past
[music] few rounds, go.
So, down.
Balance. There we go.
Okay, good flexibility.
Push, push. There.
I'm the shorter.
Uh they have a long way to go for boy.
Yeah,
conserving their strength. Go.
There we go.
Yes, but no, she's [music] one of the
taller competitors that we have.
Woah.
Athletes nothing. Let's see.
Probably
They could twist their body, they could
twist their arms, legs.
And then
Yes.
So, this is their peak peak performance,
peak technique. They know what to do.
Yeah, let's leave it to the athletes.
Don't strike bullet.
Just like that.
There we go.
>> [music]
>> Falling down.
>> [laughter]
>> It's a going up.
Okay, almost there.
Yeah.
Second to the last.
This was
This was a the second
obstacle for throughout the whole sports
time obstacle course from the tryouts to
[music] the semi-finals. Now it's the
second to the last one. So let's see.
All of the athletes are of course
>> [music]
>> how they're doing it much differently.
Must be the opposite of what I mean.
swing
She still has halfway [music] to go.
Will she make it for the end?
And she will. Of course she [music] will
not be the first one to fail.
finalists here in the women's category.
Catherine from Congratulations at
kamusta naman ang feeling mo after that
run?
>> Uh
>> You had some portions the major you
picked yourself up. You had to take it
slow. I know you had a good strategy
more at bakit mo yan ginawa?
>> Uh
>> So again and now that we're seeing you
even nothing um
May [music] nakita ka bang strategy na
ginawa nila na ginawa mo din?
>> Um
>> It's a monkey bar.
>> Kasi po um
Mahirap daw po kasi kapag dalawang kamay
pero
I know Uh
>> So sarili mo ring face at sarili mo ring
paano mo ginawa yung strategy na babagay
talaga sayo.
>> All right, congratulations and we're
going to see our last finalist here in
the women's category.
>> [music]
>> Okay prof, we have here Renee. She's the
only non [music] track and field athlete
for the women's division.
>> Yes and let's see how she'll do now.
She
She was the second placer I believe in
the semi-finals round and let's see if
she can make it to the top. [music] She
can she can be the first placer here.
Powerlifter versus track track star.
Yes.
Four track and field stars to be exact
and one powerlifter. Let's see how her
[music] different background will affect
her performance now.
track athlete.
>> Well, based on the previous
previous performance in the semi-finals,
it was Faith the next the one who will
go next who was the
number one since the start. But of
course, I'm not going to
doubt Renee. She's going to give her
best now and let's see where the best
brings her or her performance now will
bring her.
Can you go?
>> Well, I'm biased. [music] I'm a former
powerlifter. So
>> Yes.
>> [laughter]
>> Well, but all of them are equally
>> [music]
>> competitive.
>> Yes.
>> Capable of finishing
this event in
very short [music] time span.
>> Yes.
So far so good see Renee and not making
any mistakes so far and
Okay, you cannot miss. You cannot You
cannot afford to go to the wrong
direction today. You have to keep
pushing.
But
continue our conversation a while ago.
Yes, you [music]
the track and field and powerlifting are
doing great, but of course obstacle
sports is a different It's a different
challenge. You can [music] come from You
can be a champion in whatever sport, but
obstacle sports It's a different sport.
You really need to have it.
It's a different technique for different
strength.
Rene, onto the last part.
Very good time so far.
Okay, because of her strength
that would be a breeze. Yes,
very very quick. There we go, Rene.
I think so far that is the time to beat
for prof.
And last but not the least
women's finalists sports time obstacle
course race. Rene, congratulations.
I knew feeling about that one.
>> I feel relieved and
>> [laughter]
>> excited then cuz I favorite came monkey
bars. Rene,
I got to go
find the next one in the
courses you
energy so
Some course been
here at the
next challenge guy. I think this cargo
net one cuz I
I don't need to know anything about the
skill. You cannot just slide it. Right.
Right. Right. So, we've seen a lot of
strategies from your other opponents.
What are is something that you got from
them while watching them a while ago? I
think it's important to execute them
well and to be calm while it's
kind of like I injure and stuff.
Congratulations, Rene.
But you guys are going to go to
obstacle course race and we'll get the
averages from that. So, we'll see you
again later and good luck.
>> Thank you.
>> We just witnessed an intense run from
the women's category finalists and I
could really say we handpicked the best
of the best, no? After all those players
participants, today we witnessed no
violations. They finished their run with
no no no failures. No
>> Exactly Denzel. I love it. Women
empowerment day today and the women here
really represent us very very well.
We wanted to know your expert opinion so
I think women's category my tips and
tricks or my advice women out there.
>> Okay, so
event obstacle to women.
because
So in terms of obstacles it is important
going nothing in order for us to
complete the obstacle.
>> All right coach
and you take your time at your own pace
and coach
I think I can improve especially going
on to our next obstacles.
>> Well then you first obstacle given
So you next or the final obstacles
in the lab. Major and then the highest
level of the expert in the lab.
So don't worry about the training before
taking the event.
pull-ups going on More on flying metric
drills major and explosiveness going up
obstacles nothing.
>> Oh my gosh coach Nate so I think I can
make it deciding factor nothing for the
women's category. So I'm very excited
for that and we're looking forward to
all of our women finalists in our next
round of obstacles.
>> But of course before we proceed with the
next round of the women's category it's
time of course for the boys. So I'm
excited to see this run and I'm excited
to see them tackle it out on the course
and let's see them now.
>> Now we have Leopold, our last contestant
for the track and field rower.
track and field
>> [music]
>> power component of
Give them
Give him next
edge
Let's see for prop. Uh but so [music]
far, so good for for them. Um
No problem for him.
Okay, another familiar
familiar
obstacle.
Oh, compared to the semi-finals, but
they are these uh the male athletes are
twisting and then for I think they
It could be they can pull the lever both
both swinging and twisting.
conserve the energy
So, they don't have to rely on
>> [music]
>> the
upper body
strength.
Yes, but
Oh, you can't slow down here.
Let's see.
I think our biggest [music] athlete
in strides
last push
Whoops. Okay. Okay.
>> Unexpected but no second tries for our
athletes [music] for here in the first
leg.
>> Leo, you've just finished the first
round here in the finals. Come on and
run more.
>> Um
It is not a carpet.
>> Oh yeah.
That was a good recovery can you know we
saw.
But aside from this last part of course
I'm done with new obstacles here.
[music] And all the most can I like it.
So
most more challenging than for you.
>> In balance but then
>> [music]
>> So what
What's my hero by your balance beam that
I can say something like a seizure.
>> Oh my god my hobby is here.
>> But anyway you know congratulations you
made it through and I'm sure you did a
spectacular job here in the course. So
make it complete in the end so my man
nothing.
>> Um your friends go hello.
You know that.
>> Okay so you got to congratulate
me second round but I don't know.
>> Okay.
>> [music]
>> Okay bro but here we are in the first
leg of the finals. See Aaron Aaron not
qualified.
>> Yes not qualified from the wild card
round. [music] Let's see how he'll do
now.
Compared to the previous rounds.
>> [music]
>> Oh this balance beam is
much higher wall than before [music]
now.
>> Wow.
>> If you notice for the obstacles are
similar
>> But
>> You know, this is the finals round. Of
course,
we are athletes [music] and our
organizers are not holding back for
these challenges.
I think this is a familiar movement for
him.
You know what I'm going to do since the
tryouts round.
I thought maybe I can make it.
technique though.
>> They got to tell them times [music] now
I'm practicing before this event.
>> Actually, for the tryouts Well, the
whole
obstacle course we used all the way to
the semi-finals. It was open to the
athletes to practice on their free time.
But this let's say this this obstacle is
a totally new obstacle for these
athletes.
Yeah, let's see how they will tackle
this one.
>> Wow, that's a slide.
>> Yeah.
>> I don't know if I'm going to try so for
individuals in my [music] problem with
the
uh
perception of the height uh
above your time in there.
>> Yes, bro.
Once again, another familiar obstacle
for them.
I think this one is a new
It's monkey bars with [music] a twist.
>> Woah.
I think I got to put in my technique
here.
Let's see.
I think I got to rock.
>> And it's much longer compared [music] to
our
previous rounds though.
>> I think I got to get my grip strength
right. Exceptional.
I don't know if I'm going to [music]
prepare for the final now and there he's
done. What a run, Aaron.
From wild card to now. Aaron, congrats
on completing the first leg of the
finals round. How are you feeling?
>> Well, I'm feeling excited.
>> [laughter]
>> Oh, I I don't think so. That was a very
clean run. But, if you notice, this
first round of the finals, there are
familiar obstacles, but they're much
bigger now and much longer. So, how are
the obstacles now? What was the most
difficult one for you?
>> [laughter]
>> Okay, again, congratulations for
finishing the first course of the finals
round. Do you have anything to say to
the people at home?
Okay, thank you. Congrats.
