Video summary
The video provides an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the preparations for Intergeo 2026, a major international geospatial event taking place in Munich. Hosted by Denise Wenzel alongside the Intergeo TV news team, the footage captures the creative chaos and excitement as Messe München readies its halls for the global community. The atmosphere is described as a wonderful experience filled with amazing companies and great people, setting the stage for three days of innovation where real-world data will drive reliable decisions.
Key highlights of the event include approximately 500 exhibitors from around the world showcasing advancements such as digital twins that actively influence reality, geo AI capable of converting raw scans into actionable answers, and earth observation technologies that monitor changes in real-time. Visitors are guided through various experience zones marked by colored lines, including Hall C5 which features a reality capturing experience park, an application dome, and Campus Geo Innovation. Additionally, the event offers access to Conference Center North via shuttle bus, a main stage, and a startup area in Hall B5, all designed for hands-on discovery rather than just viewing slides.
Before the official opening of the exhibition halls, a significant ceremony took place on Monday evening on the 13th floor overlooking the city. The event was officially opened by Rudolf Staiger, President of the German Association of Surveyors and Geoinformatics (DVW), alongside Bavarian State Secretary Martin Schofer. During this gathering, leading voices from politics, science, and industry shared their perspectives to set the tone for the conference, culminating in a traditional Bavarian moment where a keg was officially tapped to celebrate the arrival of the community.
With the stage now fully set and the international geospatial community having arrived, the event is ready to unfold its full potential over the coming days. The video concludes by emphasizing that while the halls are still taking shape, the momentum has already begun, promising an immersive experience where attendees can touch and engage with live innovations. This exclusive first look serves as an invitation for the world to witness how Munich will bring geo-intelligence to life through a blend of technology, collaboration, and real-world application.

>> Hello and welcome from Messe München
just before Intergeo 2026 officially
opens its doors. And right now, it's the
calm before the storm because tomorrow,
from Tuesday on, the international
geospatial community will come together
right here. But today, it's all about
the creative setup chaos. And that gives
us the perfect opportunity to take you
behind the scenes.
So, my name is Denise [music] Wenzel and
together with the Intergeo TV news team,
I'll give you an exclusive first look at
the people, topics, and innovations that
will shape the next 3 days.

>> Real world, real data, real decisions.
Around 500 exhibitors from all over the
world will show
>> [music]
>> how the real world becomes reliable data
and how that data becomes decisions.
Digital twins that no longer just show
reality, but act on it. And geo AI that
[music] turns raw scans into answers.
And earth observation that tells us what
is changing while it changes. And
there's so much more to experience here
in Munich this year. So, for [music]
example, in Hall C5, there is the
reality capturing experience park.
[music] And of course, we have the
application dome there and Campus Geo
Innovation. When you walk here within
the halls, you can see everything
[music] here on different colored lines
which leads you within the halls and the
experience zones. [music] And then you
have the conference center in conference
center north where you can go by a
shuttle bus which starts next to Hall
C5. And we also have the main stage, the
startup area in B5. And there's so many
things to discover not on slides, but
live. Just to walk up and to touch. And
while the halls are still taking shape,
the first official moment of Intergeo
2026 [music]
is already unfolding on Monday evening
high above [music] the city on the 13th
floor. The official Intergeo opening.
DVW President [music] Rudolf Staiger
welcomed guests from politics, science,
and industry to the official opening
together with Bavarian State Secretary
Martin Schofer. Leading voices from
across the industry shared their [music]
perspectives and set the tone for
Intergeo 2026.
And then came one truly essential
Bavarian moment, the official tapping of
the keg. So, the stage is set. The
community has arrived and three exciting
days of Intergeo in Munich start right
now.
