Video summary
The Tennessee Titans officially kicked off their preparations for the 2026 NFL season by holding their first full training camp practice at the Vanderbilt Health Football Center, marking a significant step forward in building team chemistry and evaluating player performance under real conditions. Head coach Rob Saleh has assembled an experienced staff with coordinators who bring depth to every unit of the roster, fostering an environment where players can thrive both individually and collectively. The atmosphere inside the facility is charged with energy as athletes push themselves daily through drills designed to sharpen their skills while reinforcing a culture of accountability and continuous improvement that defines this new chapter for the franchise.
Central to the team's identity during camp is its emphasis on speed, violence, and physicality once pads are added later in the week, reflecting Coach Saleh's philosophy that true football begins when full contact starts. Quarterback Cam Ward leads the offense with a focus on making smart decisions under pressure while trusting his receivers who operate within a system granting them creative freedom to exploit defensive gaps. On defense, standout players like Seth Radel embrace their role as physical disruptors, leveraging their natural aggression and work ethic to dominate opponents before they even step onto the field for regular-season games. This approach extends across all three phases of play—offense, defense, and special teams—with coaches praising specific plays that demonstrate excellent technique, timing, and execution under simulated game scenarios.
Beyond individual excellence, the Titans are committed to maintaining high standards throughout every practice session regardless of weather conditions or fatigue levels, ensuring no player gets an excuse for falling short of expectations. An open practice held at Nissan Stadium allowed fans to witness firsthand how far the team has progressed since last season while providing additional motivation and stimulation for players feeding off crowd energy. While winning a Super Bowl remains a realistic long-term goal rather than immediate certainty, management believes consistency over time will determine ultimate success more so than early-season momentum alone. With key free-agent signings like Peter Skransky joining after earning lucrative contracts based on past contributions inside the organization, Tennessee now balances external talent acquisition with rewarding internal growth to create depth across their 53-man roster ahead of upcoming challenges against teams like San Francisco next week.

The Tennessee Titans officially lifted
the lid on the 2026 NFL season as the
team held its first full training camp
practice here at Vanderbilt Health
Football Center.
>> Let's go. On a hop, on a hop, on a hop,
on a hop, on a hop, on a hop. Let's go.
Let's go. Let's go.
>> Feel like for the first time in a while
that team's in a good place. got good
leaders, good head coach who has
assembled a staff that has experienced
coordinators.
>> I think Rob Sol wants somebody to handle
the offense and just leave me out of it
and I'm just going to deal with game day
decision-m I'll work on the defense, you
work on the offense. And he's got this
athlete as a quarterback.
>> Let's go. Good detail. Let's go. Let's
go. Let's go. Let's go.
>> Let's work together.
>> Good ass day. Okay, we're going to try
to gear it around around Cam, but but
also the other guys, too, and what they
do well. You know, with Cam, he his job
is to, you know, lead the offense to
make good decisions with the football.
It's a team game. It's the greatest team
game there is. It takes all 11. So,
we'll try to, you know, continue to grow
scheme wise.
>> Bam. That's a good route and a good shot
one. Well done.
>> It's a young guy system. He gives us a
lot of freelance, not only myself, but
the receivers. And I just think, you
know, he's putting us, you know, just
schematically in the best situation.
>> Let's stay here and tell me what you're
seeing.
>> Good shot. Good movement. That's okay.
Good movement, one. Good movement.
>> Dball's pretty damn good at what he
does. Shay is really good at what he
does. And sitting in my chair from from
my point of view, I'm 100% trusting
those guys.
>> That's a one-on-one throw right there.
Hey, that's an excellent ball. One.
Excellent ball.
>> Got a long way to go. Just trying to
build every day. Grind. It'll be a grind
here for the next couple weeks. A lot to
work on, but pleased with where we at at
the start here.
>> Coach, you mentioned the next couple
weeks, heavy contact, volume, also
strenuous activity. If you could kind of
describe maybe a little bit of that
strenuous part. Come Monday when we put
the pads on, the idea is that our
practices are going to be physical.
They're going to be fast. It becomes
much more violent.
It's too easy.
>> It's too easy.
What's the excitement level heading into
the facility? Nah,
>> I'm I'm very excited. I think everybody
knows the type of player I am. Just, you
know, everybody knows I love to hit. I
love to get downhill. There there's only
so much you can do without the pads on.
Um I think everybody kind of says it,
you know, the the real football starts
when the pads come on. But, you know,
I'm the type of guy I ain't never duck
no smoke. I ain't never duck no work.
Um, so if it's going to be hard, if it's
going to benefit us in the long run and
getting our bodies ready and prepared um
for the season, then that's just what we
got to do. One of our coaches, Tio, the
quarterback's coach, like he said
something to me last year that always
stuck with me and he was like, "That's
your superpower." Like, always let that
be your superpower. Like, if you ain't
got nothing else, like they going to
know Seth is going to be a physical
player. So I think I just try to, you
know, keep that as my personality and
and keep that thing going.
>> Yes, sir.
Radel,
>> you know what I'm saying?
>> What I do?
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Come on. Super power.
The more you prepare, the more confident
you are stepping onto the field, the
more urgency you play with, the more
violence you play with, the louder your
voice is, the louder your pads get.
>> Everything in in this defense, in this
style of play, it's fast and violent. We
hear it, we talk about it. Just speaking
Dline in individual, the first drill
we're doing is running as fast as we can
off the ball and hitting the bag.
top down. That's what they they
preaching in the building and it's up to
us to hold that standard up.
>> Hey, all standards. All standards. Hey,
all we doing is kicking ass today, bro.
Let's go. D on 3. 1 2 3.
>> It's hot. It's muggy. The challenge.
Always find a way to get better and find
a way to contribute different ways.
>> Last one for me is that I know it's
training camp and everybody comes out
here and we're going to win the Super
Bowl. give me realistic expectations on
where you think this team can go from
where you were last year.
>> Um that that is a realistic expectation
for us. I believe, you know, it can be
done. Um but we know it's an everyday
process. You know, it's not how you
start, you know, the season. It's about
how you finish. Um but we have to, you
know, get on a good run. I believe we
have the playmakers from offense,
especially defensively, you know, with
that with that front four that we have.
Um the back end is very good and the
linebacker, of course. So, I think we
have a complete team, but it's going to
take, you know, all, you know, you know,
53 of us, you know, each and every week
to, you know, be consistent, no excuses,
um, and continue to, you know, uh, you
know, harp to each other, what coach,
what coach Solace preaches to us. But,
you know, we can, it's something that
can happen.
>> Well, I can tell you with your
leadership, talking to some of the other
guys, obviously your talent level,
there's a lot of excitement about being
able to do something like that and
having a quick turnaround. So, best of
luck to you.
>> Appreciate you.
Awesome.
>> Oh, that was great. Awesome, man. Good
sir. Thank you.
>> You got it.
>> He said Kurt always says he built his
house on that.
>> That's right. I built it. Give me a
number and I will reach out and I have
no expectations, but if you ever want
>> anything, talk ball, talk off the field,
anything.
>> I will make myself available here to
help if I can.
>> Appreciate you. You just text me, so
I'll lock you up.
>> All right. All right, brother. Good to
meet you, man. Yes,
>> sir. You too, man. Good luck, man. Good
to see you again, bro.
>> Yes, sir.
>> All right, I see you.
>> Thank you, sir.
>> Have a good one.
>> Pleasure.
>> Great day to be a top guard in the NFL.
What a great day to be Peter Scaransky.
He has cashed in big time. Gets a huge
four-year, $100 million deal that has
been agreed to and signed. $88 million
guaranteed for Skransky, one of the top
bodyguards for Cam Ward. Tennessee times
have spent a lot of money this off
seasonason paying guys outside the
organization. Now they pay one who has
richly deserved it after succeeding
inside their organization.
>> SOMEBODY GOT
highest car.
>> Either way, guys, have fun today. Py,
congratulations, man. You appreciate it.
Don't make a big deal.
>> Got money.
Sal and the team deciding to switch
things up during training camp. They had
an open practice tonight at Nissan
Stadium.
>> A treat for the fans who want to know
how the Titans are progressing. It's the
next step as they countd down to the
real thing next month.
the fans are the lifeblood of the entire
NFL and um I know the players feed off
their energy and to have them out here
just to to create a new stimulus for
practice and the um I think I think the
players and the coaching staff for that
matter enjoy it. Hey. Hey. Competition
at the highest level. Both sides of the
ball. Competition. Compete each and
every day for the team.
That's cold, boy. That's cold, boy.
That's cold, boy.
>> Told him same thing. I tell him every
time. Good catch. Um, that's stuff that
I I expect out of him. He has great
hands. He has great feel for space. What
he did, you know, right there, that
that's nothing I haven't seen before.
>> Let's go. Let's go.
>> Good, boys.
>> Good, Penny. That's a good
>> Every job with points.
>> Married that.
>> Every job in points.
>> I'm married.
Ball's out. Balls out. Balls out.
>> This is the reason why we play the game.
Um to be able to come out and just put
the ball down to go play football, to be
able to compete because at the end of
the day, we're trying to get each other
better. We cuz we got one ultimate goal.
>> Hey guys, lock in real quick. Hey, great
job. Great competitive work today.
Awesome to get in the stadium, work in
front of the band, guys. I thought it
was awesome. You guys, all three phases,
one, two, three special teams. Great
freaking work. Good job keeping the
details. A lot of cool tape to watch.
All right. Ones. I think you ended up
with like 50 blades. All right. So,
great work. Great work. A lot of tape.
Tomorrow's your off day, but keep
yourself busy. All right. Watch the
tape. Get regen. All right. Make sure
you're inside. Hydrate. Get ready for
work on Sunday. Great work. All right.
Great work. Break it down.
>> TIES ON THREE. 1 2 3.
You know, usually the first couple of
days of pads, you're expecting
fireworks, but uh overall in all three
phases, I thought guys were locked in.
Got a lot of reps in. Awesome
competitive day. We got more padded
practices this week, then we got San
Francisco next week. There's a lot of
opportunity. Everyone just getting a
chance to compete. So that way we're
making the best decision possible with
regards to the 53man roster.
