Video summary
The India Chapter team has outlined a comprehensive strategy for collaboration with DevCon, centering on four primary initiatives: organizing the main event, hosting a hackathon, facilitating local meetups, and submitting proposals for community hubs or impact booths. To streamline communication across different time zones, particularly with contacts in Argentina and Germany, the group decided to consolidate discussions into a single call rather than scheduling separate meetings. This approach ensures efficient coordination while addressing logistical challenges such as venue selection, where funding support from DevCon is currently limited to Hyderabad at $250, prompting plans to secure independent venues for other cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, and potentially Nida or Hyderabad through partnerships with existing events like FOS United.
A significant focus of the meeting was the upcoming hackathon, which aims to select ten finalist teams, each comprising three participants, for a culminating offline event in Mumbai. The competition will feature tracks covering seven specific areas but remains open to AI integration and broader blockchain applications to enhance engagement and traction. Prizes for the winners include Hyperledger certification exams, adding substantial value to the experience. Before finalizing the announcement, the team intends to discuss Candela's expectations regarding finalist capabilities and confirm whether accommodating ten participants is feasible within the Decon framework, with a confirmation call scheduled for tomorrow evening to resolve any remaining uncertainties.
In parallel with hackathon preparations, the team emphasized the importance of expanding attendance at upcoming meetups, which will be hosted via Zoom to ensure accessibility. Attendees are encouraged to invite additional people to these sessions, fostering greater community involvement and knowledge sharing. The immediate next steps involve finalizing specific dates for all events, creating promotional materials, applying for DevCon booths, and coordinating with sponsors to manage ticket distribution and certification logistics. This structured approach allows the team to remain flexible, ready to adjust plans based on information received later that evening or by Saturday, ensuring that all aspects of the collaboration are well-prepared before the official announcements are made.

He's
coming.
Yeah. Hi, Julian.
>> Hi.
>> Hi. How are you?
>> Good. Good. How are you?
>> Excellent.
Excellent. Still alive. It's all good.
[laughter]
A low bar that but it's an important bar
to meet
and hush. Hi
Sing
how going
good.
>> So I don't know anyone else is turning
up
[clears throat]
>> sorry. Hush.
Uh
>> I said hi to Kam.
>> Yeah. Okay.
Excellent.
Um
>> what's plan? I think that meetups I
think we already started and identify a
couple of places. I think for the indor
and for Pune
I already have the plan where I can do
it what but other thing we need to see
and uh and know about this what we doing
in the devcon I think we planning some
something collaboration right
>> yes so I've been talking to sear about
that and uh uh and Daniela so basically
what is happening during GFF right so
yeah So GFF Daniel is going to be here.
I'm I may not come. We're having
budgetary constraints. So we'll see
whether I make it or not. Right. Um uh
and um so uh I think Sega has got a
space. Oh, he's there. Hi Sega. So we've
got a space um going for the eighth um
and Daniela will be there, right? So uh
it's nearby. Um it's a company in the
same building as NPCI. Yeah. So, so that
is you're talking about the current GF
plan but what about the Devcon plan? So
the DevCon plan so so so the whole plan
so so basically if you see in in the um
in the WhatsApp group the two key people
onella came back to us and that's what
the confusion was and Ella came back to
us and said use the calendar set up some
time and let's talk about the submission
uh for um the hosting the activity at
the event right so that's I forgot what
the name of it is it's it's we get a
space right so which is sear has has has
contributed at the same time Candela
came back and said, "Hey, here's a bunch
of things." And we look through those
documentation, right? It's not quite
clear. There may be some um uh
contributions. She put that in. She
said, you know, let's have a call. So, I
saw that and I said, "Well, let's set up
a call." So, I quickly this I and I
pinged Sega cuz I was making sure we're
doing the stuff for for GFF. Um and uh
I've organized Candela uh for Oella. I
I've I've organized it for 5:00 p.m. my
time, which I think is 7:30 your time.
So, we can all join that. Yes. And then
uh for Candela, she's in in in um uh in
Argentina, so she couldn't possibly make
that time, right? So, I set up a second
one. But I think Candela then got
confused and said, "Oh, I haven't seen
it." Cuz she was looking for the Onella
one. So I think at the end of this
either we what we do is we we say Oella
if Candela wants to speak to both we can
do it all at Candela time but it means
that Onella needs to stay later I think
she's in Germany our problem is the
world isn't flat that's the main problem
right so we all can't do the same time
so so there's there's as as we discussed
there's you know there's you know a
number of things that we are doing right
um so there
>> yeah so so out of the four things right
one is is the event itself. So Daniela
is speaking and and she's organizing all
that separately. Uh no sorry for Devcon.
This is DevCon, right? For DevCon, Hart
is speaking and we're kind of organizing
that separately. We then have uh the
hackathon uh with I think Ania and
Gremer and others organizing it, right?
Thirdly, uh we have um uh uh the
meetups, right? And fourthly, we
actually have uh the submission to have
a space at the event. So those are the
four things that we're working on. We
did we put together the plan. We sent it
to Candela. She's come back and maybe we
can have a look at that now. She put
that in in in the group, right? So let's
look at that. But it's not 100% clear
and I think she said let's have a call.
So tomorrow let's go through with her
the plan. What can Devcon help us with
and how should we be working with
Devcon? That's that question, right? So
I think that's what we'll do tomorrow.
Uh and with
>> I'm
sorry.
>> No, no, carry on. I just saying.
>> Yeah. Yeah. So, so, so, so, so that's
where we are. So, maybe what I I I do is
I go to the the WhatsApp group, right?
And I pull out the documents that we've
seen from them. So, we can discuss that
internally here. Not that it's very
internal. This is all recorded and
everything, which is wonderful. So, uh
let's have a look. So if you look at the
let me if you look at the
um
where
>> public because this this is recording on
the YouTube so maybe we can inter check
or what
>> yeah yeah so basically here here it is
right so basically this is this is the
proposal here so here's the proposal uh
that we did for collaboration so this
has come back uh from candela so um
she's done this proposal for us to work
together based on I the proposal that we
wrote in center. So co-host the
community hub. So that's been extended
but I think seagar has has prop proposed
that and sent it right. So we need to
talk about that. Uh speak at dev andcom
submit proposals if anyone wants to
already we have uh hart already speaking
but maybe any other community member
wants to do and then cross promotion the
road to right. Um so we want to
highlight the uh the the technology you
know what we're doing the rogue the
devcon was these these are these uh uh
meetups and she said we have 250
available to organize an event at one of
these location if you'd like to move
forward and please send us the details
and here she says I think she's
suggesting that we should work with them
on their event but I think we just need
clarity on these items if you give them
a read right um support to run a virtual
haven you know any additional
promotional uh you know will be charged
directly to them. So dev ride the base
hackathon and run a ticketing campaign.
So these are the things what we'll get
10 complimentary tickets uh five tickets
all the things we'll do and what we
expect logo placement on their event
page website one special media post
tagging Devcon upon receiving ticket a
mention of Devcon in their newsletter um
including discount complimentary tickets
blah blah blah so I think it would be
good to go through this with Candela and
she said let's do a call so I think she
sent this read it and let's have a call
and see what the questions are so I
think that's the call tomorrow at 10
p.m. my time, which will be 7:30 your
time, right? Uh, is that right? And then
the other call would be at 5:00 p.m. my
time, which I think is 2:30 your time.
Uh, the
>> But, uh, Daniel, not there. So, what
Daniel Julian, I think Candela said that
we can combine the both the call, right,
with the onella and with the same time
only.
>> Yes. But that means does Odella I looked
at her calendar and she couldn't do that
time on her calendar. So we need to ask
her.
>> Yeah. Yeah. We can ask her I think
because
>> she don't reply I think.
>> Yeah. So so basically let's set I will
set up a call and then I'll give it to
you Cameish and Sega and you can add
everyone else you want to add.
>> So I don't have to add everyone. I I'll
I'll add a few of us here right KI and
others and then you can add whoever
whoever wants to be added to that core
right. uh for that and and for the o or
or and I'll add Odella to that one as
well
>> and then and then we'll keep your one so
maybe two calls we talk with her as well
right
>> does that make sense
>> yeah so
all right that that's that's where we
are so Maybe the things that we could
talk about
it's here but I think we could talk
we'll talk tomorrow with with Candela
right about the activity and then
specifically about a community hub we
talked to is it Odella and she's in
Germany so let's we're going to try and
combine the call as Candela requested I
can do that so I'll just set up a call
to do both of those if we look at the if
we go back to the
So that was one call. So if you said he
said she said let me know if you'd like
to have a call to go through the
details. So that's what we're doing. And
then if you go up to Oella um I've
created Sure. Let's have a call next
week. She said here's my calendar and
that's what I went to. That's why I went
up and set this two times, right? Um and
that's where we are. Um so I think we
have questions for both of them. It'd be
good to maybe have them both on the same
call, but I didn't know that was
possible. Hence, I said two calls.
But let's pull them together.
>> There we are. [laughter]
>> Yeah.
I think now most people are clear,
right? Comeless I think.
>> So, we have only one call specifically,
but yeah. So there is a confusion
because of the calendarly
there. So I think
>> yeah that was it. So I just sent up the
calendarly and that would that didn't
fit the same time as Argentina time. So
we'll see whether we can if we can do
both. We do both. So the first one's
just on the proposal right with Odella
which we do with in her time zone and
then we do the rest with Kandella in her
time zone because we kind of bridge
both. We're between them right.
>> Yeah. So let let's uh now discuss before
that call now let discuss about meetup
part like uh how we are and where we
are. So does we organizing the three
location we which we told so I think
also I told Karthik to reschedule the
the meetup which we want to do it in
September early days but they propose us
to do it in during the end of the
September. So Karthik are you
comfortable
comfortable with
me?
>> Yes. Yes. Yes, that that makes sense. Uh
we will be having uh more time with us
in hand. So I think the venue and the uh
you know the other event is already
shared right we are planning with that.
It is up to us how we want to does we
have to do it with their venue or we
have to if we can find a good venue and
we can host by ourself and then we can
invite them to present that also fine I
think. So yeah that we will discuss
tomorrow how they want to organize but
we have to propose some venue on to them
actually. Similarly in Mumbai
>> talking uh uh Saga which which place
>> uh in a Bangalore. So I think last call
they told us they have the venue of I
think they folio office specifically
they want to organize but uh we told
them like we are have some venues. So if
we have the venue then we can host there
otherwise we can host in the deaf folio
office only directly if you want to do
it that way. It is totally up to us how
we want to manage the things.
M
>> so Karthik what do you think sir should
we host in Dave fully office or should
we get other good venues because till we
have
>> one month of time so if
>> see that will be a challenge see uh time
is challenge and uh you know getting uh
a place is a challenge so one see uh
previously we were talking about this
event uh I have pasted in chat
so we can be collaborating here And uh
that is India foss.
I think this one is suggested by uh
Deolia. No sorry uh
Devcon.
>> Yeah. Candela recommended that right?
>> Uh yeah. So this is this makes a lot of
sense right. uh because uh getting place
has always been a challenge and that to
and we have a uh very close timeline.
So if this can be taken uh then that
will very much better because the dates
are also uh you know
good like comfortable dates
venue occasion this looks like to be a
perfect event where we can collaborate
and do because otherwise it will be a
lot of headache for us.
So the thing is u they we going to
support only the if you doing the event
like like what I think of here because
uh they are uh supporting by funding on
Hyderabad because we are doing the
events in NPCI or or PWC if a good
venue. So similarly I think if you do in
the bank other places if you combine
with them so there the other like
financial support we will not get from
them directly. So yeah it is easy to do
so but what support we can offer them
during that event so that we have to
tell them actually let's say the venue
we are getting so what other part we
will cover on that so can you design
that like agenda or whatever thing from
your side
if you can invite a good speaker or
maybe something like that. Yeah, that is
something we hold our expertise. We have
a lot of such known places
you know personalities who can come like
Kamesh and Vikram are already here.
Ankita is here. So we all can uh you
know suggest best of the resources who
can be a value fit for this uh our own
meetup in Bangalore.
One thing to add uh like FOS is sorry I
I joined a little late.
>> So if we are going for FOS event um to
collaborative with FOS United so it
specifically
>> for no like a very good
>> sorry
>> so no no we not uh like go gathering the
event with force during that time only
we doing the events actually it is a
timeline only. So we are not doing event
with force actually.
>> Oh okay. I thought we um we are thinking
of having it in the same place where
force is happening.
>> So if that is
>> yeah my assumption was also same. in the
force
>> can provide us the venue there we can
conduct some of our uh specific talks
panels maybe some workshops
>> no no no so it is that timeline like
when the force event is happening during
that time we have to do the event
actually not in
>> I think their slot and everything is
booked it is
>> pre you have to submit some talks and
then they'll select the same way it is
in open source oss open source submit
or any other event
we can try for maybe booth but that is
also I think all gone
>> for booth also they will ask like to pay
some amount
>> and yeah with that amount itself you can
host it somewhere where at at a better
place.
>> Correct.
>> Um,
okay. There is a pre-event, but we have
to check what that pre-event.
>> It looks like it's all for, right? CFP
booth. Uh yeah there is a pre-event
which the call for pre-event is uh open
it is live so maybe we can see what what
is the expectation from there
>> because see LFD projects everything is
um open source right and for it um
>> yeah free and open source
>> for it is for uh open source
initiatives. Yeah, pretty aware.
>> Yeah. So, I think this pre-event we can
take a look at.
>> So, they seem to be lots of side events
kind of thing, right?
>> Yes.
>> Correct. So, side event we can have
>> but pre-event would be pre, right? It's
not really side event. It would be it
would happen probably a day before or
you know on an earlier date, right?
>> Correct.
>> Yeah. So gen like you know during India
blockchain week we did a side events
right. So we would list our event with
India you know blockchain week and do a
side event you know on the same dates
just that on a different venue with
different speakers and topics. Yeah. Uh
but this is would be pre-evented which
she's you know talking about I guess
right
>> yeah that it is on uh 25th
26th I think
>> 26 is the actual one right 26 is when
this event
>> 27 is the actual one yes
>> yeah so probably 24 25 or you know
similar date would be there for pre
>> or if since our agenda is to have uh the
devcon and lfdt collab collaboration and
promote Devcon along with LFD project.
So we can utilize the venue that devcon
team already decided.
>> So that was the impactful booth part. So
it is the application I think we have to
give. So if you read the notion
there you can read the impact booth
part. So for that we have to do
application specifically.
>> But that is you know you know closed
right?
>> No no we can apply I think so we can
have ask tomorrow in the call and
discuss that
booking.
>> So you're saying it shall open.
>> Anyone can open that. I cannot even on
mobile.
>> No no. So basically you know Angita just
checked right. Uh sorry Kamish was just
checking
oranga right so we looked at that the
dates were closed that you know it was
supposed to happen sometime in July the
applications or you know the nomination
kind of thing so I think you know
they've already we have you know already
beyond that date but no you can put a
message on the group so anyone came from
team can answer
>> the impactful booth
>> so but indirectly we can
>> you know those would be paid booth
No no no no no.
>> So there is a two separate thing. One is
a sponsor one where is full booth and
there is the other area is impact full
booth. Impact booth is any opensource
projects or any ecosystem projects who
have the impact. So we have to submit
application and if they think it is fit
to their criterias then we get the space
for there we properly present the things
basically demoing and all those things.
But in community hub we cannot directly
de or showcasing and promote or market
any projects directly.
>> Yeah, impact booths are free. We can u
submit the application we can ask we can
put we'll see we'll put it on the group
and we'll ask them.
So if you are apply describe your
project
can you put just a message in WhatsApp
group and then ask maybe or tomorrow's
call you can join and you can ask this
question.
>> Yes.
This is something that we have to fill
in project name
and our relation. What? So we can uh
just gener uh like generic project names
we can give which are connected with
Ethereum and then we can give link to
LFD project and uh describe
>> you know go with Basu right Basu or
Palender something like
>> yes two three projects that use Ethereum
and we can describe the relationship
connection with Ethereum P or other
communities. Please
okay let me
draft this and we'll share and I think
we can apply for it tomorrow as itself.
>> So you mean like we applying for Libity
India chapter booth there or what?
Yes. LFTT.
>> Okay.
>> Projects.
>> This is one thing and another thing was
regarding the event that we have to do
in Bangalore, right?
>> Yeah. This is that is something we can
discuss and uh this
>> this one is something like uh events in
the different cities including Bangalore
from where we can start is something we
can uh take a call today that will be
helpful.
>> Yeah.
>> Stuck with the venue mostly and anything
related to logistic is really uh a
challenge for now.
>> Okay. I think if we can get a v separate
venue then that is fine otherwise with
devcon
if we all agree to invite uh other
members as well
what do you think
Julian
and I think in Pune as well Devcon they
had a event last week I last week or
last week I saw it
a day or two be like a day or two back.
>> Okay. So and who organized those that
one?
>> Devcon team organized I could not see
much about it. Uh I just saw yesterday
or day before yesterday only
on LinkedIn. So they have already um
organized a event for Defcon like this
road to DEFCON
in Pune. So maybe we'll talk to the team
tomorrow
that if they are going to have such
events in multiple cities, they can
connect with they can pre-inform us as
well
and we can have a joint event. So that
would be helpful, right?
H
>> I think very much so and I think that's
what if you look at the document that
Candela sent she's suggesting that we
maybe join up and work with them as well
on events right rather than having our
own independent events but I think we
can we can do both but I think it would
be good we I don't I don't see
visibility at the moment to theirs so
maybe that's something that we can ask
them tomorrow right in the call and by
the way I think I'm going to set the
call up I think it's 9:00 p.m. my time
which I think is 6:30. Is that 7:30 or
6:30 your time? Right.
Yeah. Anyway, so
I agree. Thank you, D. So, do you want
do you want actually have a look at that
document again? Because she went through
the specifics, right, of of the document
that she shared um in the um if I can
pick it up again, right, where was it?
This is what she shared.
um can because she went through our
stuff and this is what she went through.
So
she said Bangalore
around GFM and I think that's meant to
be Mumbai, right? Um the local team is
looking for additional external sponsors
but but we're going to do a LFDT event
anywhere during GFF uh because Daniela
is coming so we want to do an event and
we maybe we can connect with their event
as well. Um they want uh they want
they're doing around the they want to do
something around FOS United events. So
let's find out what they're doing. Maybe
we could do something with them or
something independently. They're
suggesting in Hydrobad because we put in
our proposal we could do we know MPCI
Broad Broadidge uh and PWC are there and
and they seem to be keen on that. Um
they said we have up to 250 available to
organize an event at one of these
locations. I don't know that's an event
per location. Let's work out what that
is.
Please send me in details. I think we
need to work out what what the funding
is.
>> Um
what's RTD? Let's request details that
run the virtual hackathon. So that is
and we haven't got bank we haven't got
Pune in there and others which I think
as well right
>> so I think it would be good as you said
for us to see a visibility into what
they're doing. So we can either join
theirs or we can do something else that
we can invite them to do. You know more
than one meetup isn't an issue right
more than right. So uh I think I think
that will be uh something we can ask
them uh tomorrow right?
>> Yes that will give us more coverage.
>> Can you expand this request RTD details?
[snorts]
>> Oh is it all right? Yes there you are.
Well done. It's a
>> what does RTD mean? Requests
>> request.
>> So these are the detail we have to give
to them for the $250. All right.
>> You want to organize in Hyderabad. So
Karthik you are telling someone from Tim
is who are leading this. Yeah. Na is
leading. So can you tell her to like
just coordinate for the venues and all
those things in
the
body?
>> Yeah. But this one is regarding I I did
not understand completely. So we have to
tell exert exert thing about this right
the where we doing which date in
Hyderabad we doing the
>> event brand news all those things and we
have to fill this and give then they
will give us a $250
>> I I think we need to get clarity on how
many $250 and which events
>> and once we've done that we can fill
this in right and I think it seems it's
a tie to the Hajat event but it says
>> at one of of these locations it's plural
right so I I don't know whether it means
>> yeah it is for Hyderabad only
>> it looks like it's for Hyderabad only
but we can qualify that
>> yeah yeah sure
>> yeah let's qualify that and I think we
last time
>> this 250 only for one city or could you
doing it
>> that's exactly we don't know
>> I think we we can we should ask them
whether it is for all the events that we
can have so if that is the case then we
can uh we may may use it for other
places as well.
>> Exactly. My suspicion it's just for one
but we can always hope for more
>> seems then in that case I think there is
a bias to Hyderabad.
>> No no no I think
>> it could be because we did
>> yeah it is because we uh because of the
venue I understand.
Yeah
>> and because of the venue and also in
Mumbai and Bangalore their local team of
devcon are also doing the events so they
don't want to spend much amount I think
so
>> okay that could be
>> so because as I know I know all the
people who doing the road to devcon in
India altogether so initial their budget
was $500 and some of the people who
doing in Gujarat and other places they
are currently getting $300 around
funding for each event they which anyone
which doing the the for events actually
>> and they don't mention she doesn't
mention Pune and other places there as
well so we can ask her about that as
well right
>> so they're not interested I think they
he clearly mentioned in the at the last
line we are only supporting those three
three cities
>> no they already had a event in Pune
>> all right
>> yeah maybe you know put Nida in the mix
as well just in case
>> yes correct Yeah.
>> So, we can ask tomorrow. I think we have
where's the other we have the other the
dock that we sent her, right? Um
somewhere. Let me if I can find that. Uh
where we mentioned all the cities, the
one that she read to come to to to get
to that, right? And I think we mentioned
many cities, right? Um
let's see if I can find it. It's the one
that
I wrote and everyone worked on together.
Um
where is it?
This one right here
the four pillar thing I this I'll share
this this is what we we originally sent
and
if you remember we talked about the four
pillars right so LFD meetups and that's
what we gave her right Bangalore Mumbai
Nida Pune aad
we had na who said they might support
right now so I think andad so I think
we're going to do this it looks like
we're going to do that with fos right
>> Mumbai we're definitely going to do and
but maybe we're Daniela we'll probably
do that on the 8th I think sear you're
working on that right um noa
>> no venue we can you know venue
definitely we can put and you know I'll
be able to you know reserve a space uh
date you know we need to confirm you
know whichever date works you know I'll
plan around it
okay
>> and uh Julian in Mumbai any specific
date when you planning
>> 8th
>> 10th now okay
>> 8th 8th 8th
>> eth
I'm coming on 9th okay
>> yeah it's it's it's Daniela I talked to
her last night maybe we can move it to
the nth but I think she said the eth I
talked to her about it this morning cuz
she's going I'm organizing We're
organizing GFF. I may come, but I think
with budget I may I may I might have to
go to Korea actually. So she she will
she will do um uh she's coming from you
know the GGC in in Geneva. So she's
going to come through which is great. Uh
she'll be there I think from 8th to the
11th or the 7th to 11th or 7th to the
10th I forget.
She's speaking on the 10th. So she said
at the eighth book like the best time,
but yeah, maybe we can we can we can
work on on that as well, right? Um and
uh and definitely you should meet up
with her anyway. There'll be lots of
things at the venue as well, right? I
assume you're you're going to the event
itself, are you
Kamesh?
>> Yeah, I'm coming.
>> Yeah,
>> I will just reschedule my flight to it.
>> And then we talked about Pune indoor. So
she picked up on Bangalore and Mumbai as
the two the two ones at Hyderabbad right
as the ones they would like and it maybe
it is because they're not doing them. Um
I think we still want to do Pune right
because we have such a a good community
there right indoor
that's
is sear and we'll probably talk to IM uh
Amad so that that's what we can talk to
her about. So is there $250? I'm my
suspicion is only $250 for this one
here, right? Cuz it it's and as maybe as
Sega guys other mentioned, maybe it
doesn't they have a a list of meetings
and they don't have one in Hydrobat. So
maybe that's what's attracting them to
that, right?
>> Uh but we can still do our own thing,
right? Uh on the road. I mean all all is
goodness. Uh and then we talked about a
virtual hackathon and she talked about
maybe providing something to that. And
then the other thing we talked about was
the community hub which sear has has uh
submitted and we're waiting and uh
Odella came back and that's why we have
two meetings but we're going to combine
that as well. She wants to talk us to us
about that and that application now is
the 28th of August but we've already
applied.
>> Um is that correct sear?
>> Yeah.
>> So maybe what I do is I set up a call
for tomorrow. Uh if I go back to her
conversation here, right? Uh she said I
think at we could talk at
>> where was it? She said um
hi Julian. Could we do on Friday? So she
said at 10:00 a.m. Friday, right? Um
10:00 a.m. Friday in Argentina I think
is 900 p.m. my time. I think it's 6:30
IST. Right.
>> Yes.
>> So, I will set up a call for that. I'll
add some of you in there and you could
then add everyone else. We can do a a uh
a um you know, a cascade of invites uh
to that and we can all go through that.
Maybe we'll go through all those three
points again, right? In terms of um the
cities that we're doing, right, the
hackathon and the community hub. And if
and if Odella can't she can't move it,
we'll just do the earlier call just to
talk about this.
Is that a plan that works?
>> Yeah,
>> I think clear. Just we have to finalize
now dates in this one in one week that
would be great for all the venues. Uh
and we can start working on that. Maybe
it can be a two or three hour of session
during evening or morning
that would be great and uh I I'm also
working on the media part. So once we
have the we can release the media like
road to deon which we discuss to next
week
>> and the other thing
>> the other thing we said is that we we
want to create a um uh which I think I
put my action for me a deck. So I talked
to Sega yesterday, right? And I've given
you that information and you're building
that deck
>> right now, right?
>> Yeah,
>> we discussed we're going to use we can
use Luma. So along with Meetup, right?
>> Um the Twitter,
we said Twitter, we'll have to we'll go
back to David Boswell if you want to use
Twitter. We'll use his his Twitter
thing.
>> Um
>> Bangalore and all these things here. So
do we have dates here now for this? I
think we can change some of this. Right.
So for Bangalore we're now talking you
know
around around FO right
>> 25 to 28
>> 20
>> 25 to 28
>> 25 to 28 September right
>> um Mumbai we're talking probably the 8th
of September right
>> and you're working on a venue sear
>> yeah venue mostly final but like let's
see.
>> Yeah. Uh Nida Vicram will do a Nida
special. We don't know. It's going to be
a surprise, right?
>> Is that right?
>> I think I think 19 sounds in like a good
date, but we'll figure out. So, you
know, do we have to do before or after
as well? Right. After FOs as well, we
can go for it, right?
>> You can do it all the way up to
November.
>> You have plenty of time.
>> Yeah. Then, you know, I'll you know,
book something in October, I believe.
Yeah, it's got to be before um uh before
what what's the dates of DevCon? Before
the 3rd or 6th of November.
>> Um
>> and then
>> 9th of October, you know, 10th of
October sounds better.
>> 10th of October.
>> I think we can have it one every month
somewhere.
>> Then we have August, September, October,
August, September, October. three
months. So maybe two events.
>> November any we already have.
>> Well, November is the event, right? We
kind of run out of time. So beginning in
November,
>> September and October Sep October, two
months we have.
>> And then of course once we get to the
event, we will have uh the community hub
where we'll do lots of activity.
>> Y and we may have Daniel said we may
also have another booth as well. is
working on that as well uh with um with
uh Dan is working with Candela on that.
Hydrobat is the one that we may not be
able to do because I'm not sure we have
anybody that's going to be the more
difficult one but we can do that later
in October, right? We have time.
>> Yes,
>> I can reach out to NBCI. I don't talk to
NBCI before GFF because they're kind of
busy. [laughter]
>> Yeah.
>> And uh Broadidge I see we didn't spell
that right. Broad Ridge. It's a broad
bridge, isn't it? Or broad ridge.
Anyway, and PWC
>> and indoor you haven't decided yet,
Camsh.
>> Yeah, I I decided the venue uh and but I
need to finalize the dates.
>> Okay. TBD date. TBD uh
>> uh date right
>> for Yeah. for we will have it in
second third week of uh September after
GFF and everything will go
>> what input a
>> yes
>> so we're going to say later right
>> yes later
>> so so late September
TVD
so we have Bangalore later at the end of
the month we have Mumbai which is
associated with GFF Na probably and then
we're going to probably pune right
amabad
indoor to determined and nida hydrobad
we'll just see right whether we can get
anyone to help us do that uh maybe NPC
can help after but I think that's after
the GFF
yeah
that's cool and and we are creating a
standard deck um and then once we've got
all this we could probably do some I
think Sega maybe would be good worth
doing some kind of announcement Here are
all the meetups happening.
>> So get a bit of PR and a bit of
attention.
>> One one announcement for all the
>> meet up.
>> And feel feel free to add or or do stuff
to this document. I think it's kind of a
working document, right?
>> Okay. I don't do we have any update on
the hackathon or is that we'll talk
about that. I won't be around. I'm off
on holiday next week by the way. I'm
having a holiday. Wow. [laughter]
I'll be in the UK. So, um I won't be on
a call next week.
>> Hello.
>> Happy holidays.
>> Thank you.
>> Made a plan. Would like to share and get
uh some know confirmation from you.
Uh one thing Karthik
>> okay
>> yeah you're telling saying something
>> hello
>> yeah so what what I me and Karthik had a
call so what was we discussing that the
meetup which we are doing uh along with
during the meetup the hackathon time
only we can do the meetup so we can also
promote our hackathon during the
different cities ideally so we can get
more traction for the hackathon too and
uh
>> that is very obvious that is fine.
>> Yeah. So mean previously I think we are
discussing on the October and we are
want to do the meet up in different
settings. So rather than we can keep
during the times which we having for the
hackathons on that duration only we can
have the meetup and other things we can
I have talked with two three sponsors
specifically if you can get some sponsor
from each and everyone can find some not
direct sponsor but credit wise or
anything wise that would be helpful.
And I think we have the tickets. So we
can distribute three tickets maybe to
the winners of the
um basically the hackathons.
So we can decide that how many tickets
do we want to distribute apart from the
which we get from the
so or we can ask for the separate
theathon. So that we we should finalize
that too actually.
>> Okay.
So right now what we are thinking what I
want uh final uh confirmation like uh we
are doing
most probably we should start our uh
registration from 24th ideally. Uh then
our registration will close by 28th of
September. So each team will have three
members and top 10 team uh will be
selected for an uh offline hackathon in
DevCon Mumbai which is which could be of
36 hours grand prize the these are all
like assumption or uh initial draft you
can consider so of mentioning this like
they'll get uh hyperledger certification
exam and uh there are seven tracks uh
our date is like so they can actually uh
ideally it will be hosted on uh defolio
where they can uh present about the idea
we'll also provide one uh one GitHub
repository which they can fork and put
read me in read me they can explain the
architecture and whatever they want to
present about the idea in more detail
and uh post that then team will be
qualifying
will announce the result in uh well in
advance so that they can uh
you know travel they can plan their
travel to Mumbai. So that's the plan for
now. So this is the
scope of the hackathons for now. There
are these seven tracks. So yeah Ankita
suggested like to mention all the stacks
of uh LFDT.
So most of them which are relevant I
have kept it then uh yeah so these are
the tracks
like tokenized asset uh payment and
settlement uh these are the
>> so in terms of stack you know so you you
have only suggested blockchain stacks
right uh AI stacks would also be needed
so have we you know puted some word
about that
>> uh AI AI stats are not mentioned yet or
you know we don't have to list them but
you know probably put it in some way
that you know AI what is our thought on
AI you know could they use everything
otherwise you know it would be a
question right so probably put it in
that way maybe then [clears throat]
>> the track it's can have yeah one track
is AI governance
>> no but I understand that you know one
track we have put AI governance but
essentially you know for others as well
you it won't be that they would be
devoid of AI right so putting just one
saying you know so you know AI
governance is about you know use case
specific to how we govern AI right
>> and you know how what would be the role
of blockchain so that is what you know
someone would present but for others as
well AI would be you know prevalent
right for example even if I talk about
you know supply chain there you know
someone may want to leverage or you know
even for you know
>> that is yeah that is up to them so if
they if they look like. So the other
part is also there where uh they can put
anything their own idea own idea
submission apart from any uh anything
which is which is not covered in our
seven tracks.
>> Yep. My the reason I'm suggesting is
because you know these days you know you
would you know be able to see you know
good participation when you talk about
AI and you know any of you know
blockchain in context of AI you know
something you know some if we have that
kind of a theme that would help you know
gain more traction to it and also you
know it would more meaningful
what do you think you know I'm just you
know spitballing here so you know
thinking out loud what what do you guys
Yeah. So right now I am thinking like uh
let this tracks be very much wide which
can cover more scope and uh they can
leverage any AI you know component or
like uh whatever they want to plug in as
an AI solution which can help uh build
their solution. That is
>> I'm with you all. I'm with you
completely. The only reason I'm saying
is you have you know put for example for
blockchain part you are you know calling
it out specifically right few of the use
cases and all. So do call that out as
well so that you know it looks like it's
not just about you know you know just we
are not just saying that you know it's
lockin we are saying it's both right. So
that way you know uh it will entice the
right people and you know it will entice
them a lot. That's the reason I'm
suggesting this.
So maybe in the description or somewhere
we can add
>> yeah that yeah probably yes
>> an amalgamation of LFDT and LF
>> blockchain and right LFD yes you know we
have already
>> LFDT projects yeah LFDT projects
>> yes with AI
>> you because that was our experience
running on the last event right that you
know uh the more traction you're getting
when you're talking about you AI
together with blockchain. So you we will
get more traction.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. Maybe I I'll just uh improve this
in such a way that they can relate it
with AI. Okay. Maybe AI
>> anyhow the use cases and everything is
open to them whatever they want to do
just that you know we are suggesting few
things and we look like you know we come
out like you know that yes. Yes,
absolutely. Like this is tracks and this
tracks doesn't guarantee that okay uh we
are having any kind of kota related to
this. Let's say if this is a track so
one of the team will be selected or
there is any kota related to any such
track. So they can this is suggestion
and open suggestions are also there. Uh
yeah so that is for now and they'll be
submitting their readme and uh uh you
know um some form on de volume that is
the thing so this is the whole pattern
if you have heard of uh this hackathon
which is already running uh hacker house
Goa so based on the same thing so there
also they have allowed submission for
more than 90 days and after that they
will call whosoever is selected.
So this our our philos our our thought
process is like uh we are having limited
time and bandwidth. So if they can
submit online we'll pick up whichever is
the best project maybe 10 projects. So
these numbers are important which we can
discuss uh with candela that if 10 team
members
uh each of them having uh like three
participants in each team uh can be
accommodated at final venue in in
Mumbai. I have seen that uh there are
hackathons which are already running one
IT RK hackathon which I have seen being
part of uh uh de road to dev dev
>> road to dev. Yes, correct.
>> If this is like allowed then
we can see
our dates and the format of conducting
this one. These are the things which we
have to focus and finalize as as quick
possible.
>> We have to announce this as soon
possible because we are already running
out of time of like I don't think you
know we have a you know anything
stopping us. So let's do that. Yeah.
>> Yeah. So our registration maybe uh h
should happen on uh de folio which I
thought
that will be initiated by
candela. So that is one thing which very
important uh confirmation from her like
if if 10 finalist
uh they can accommodate on the final
days each each having uh three
participant in uh in one team 10 teams
having three points that is 30
and a place where we can run a 36-hour
hackathon which means uh logistically
if if they are agreeing to this having
Wi-Fi and uh charging socket and also
things available.
>> Okay. So let's I think you know let's
put it up you know into candela to see
that you know uh what's the view on the
same and uh I think there is a meeting
also scheduled right. Probably we can
you know bring this up.
>> Uh probably not you know this document
we can have you know document is good
just that you know probably you know
explaining this in couple of slides so
that you know because majority is just
you know tips and tricks right uh the
only important aspects would be there on
couple of so you know probably put some
you know throw one or two slides and you
know where everything is there so that
you know we can discuss it you know at
the same time. Yeah and Karthik we need
a poster as well [clears throat] to
announce on social media. We can't say
>> yeah that uh that I think we are waiting
for such confirmation and especially
this uh what are the prices like okay
maybe LFD can give some certific
why not you can mail drop to David
>> and ask about key are they able to
sponsor this free certification program
to at least winner or whatever
>> okay
>> whatever otherwise how we will get it
>> yeah that is uh one thing which we have
today is what we are giving to the you
know finalist and what we are giving to
the top threes and what we are getting
from Devcon for all those who are
winning at uh at like top three and top
10. So Devcon may be providing something
and are LFD is also supposed to they
should provide something.
So for uh elability I'll put email CC to
all of you and I'll I'll put it to de uh
David today
and maybe with Candela we can uh discuss
like what are their expectations and
what they can actually provide to all
our finalist and all our top threes
and once these things are clear we are
like good to announce
>> think Can we have just one announcement
of the hack coming hackathon is coming
something like that?
>> I feel it it's still in uh that's still
early. We don't have much uh information
if they will allow to accommodate 10
participants in decon. So if are they
willing to you know host this hackathon
of like 36 hours tomorrow right? meeting
is when tomorrow
>> meeting is tomorrow we can confirm.
>> Yeah. So tomorrow you know the
confirmation and you know so let's be
prepared from our side that let's
suppose you know everything that we are
thinking you know gets covered so that
you know plan according to that and then
if something changes we'll just change
that bit right the rest of the things
anyhow will remain same. It's not that
we you know expecting drastic changes
right
then if if if we can wait till tomorrow
evening once tomorrow like we have at
least uh some bit of discussion in
pipeline or somewhere some thing coming
up from then then tomorrow evening I'll
I'll put a generic announcement
Okay.
>> 350.
Okay. So, I I'll set up a call for
tomorrow, which is 6:30 in order to
catch Candella. She's in Argentina. She
couldn't do today because uh she has an
event. And that's 6:30 p.m.
IST, right? And we can discuss
take her through Kart. Thank you very
much for sharing that. Um and uh and we
can share the um hackath the uh meetups
as well and see what she has to say.
So I will, as I said, I'll set that up.
And can everyone add more and more
people [laughter] to the meetup? I'll
just do that. We can use my Zoom, right?
>> Is that okay?
>> Yeah.
>> Yep. Sounds good.
>> Is there anything else that
>> uh we need to discuss? antage. Now how
do we convert this to [laughter] a
that's part
>> okay sounds good then you know we we'll
prepare for basis you know what we know
now and so that you know we can do a
launch you know tomorrow itself after
the meeting and if something changes
then you know we'll make a change and
then you know launch it on Saturday
right
>> excellent
excellent an exciting weekend
>> yes
>> all All right,
take care everybody.
>> Thank you.
>> Bye. All right.
