You guys remember that copyright strike
situation? Eric Green, 10 business days,
or we're going to sue you, Nicholas
Light TV. Well, it's been 11 business
days, and I'm still here. And what do
you know? I was going through my emails.
I didn't get a single email from Eric
Green. I'm not sued. And if you go on my
second channel, Nicholas Dark TV, all of
the videos that were removed, all 60
plus videos, they're back. So, what
happens? I thought I was going to be in
court today. I thought Eric Green was
coming for my house. It looks like I
won. Anyways, today is not about the
past. Today is about the now, the
future. Let's get into it. If you've
been looking at my channel for the past
few months, I've been doing things a
little bit differently than usual.
Commentary, which I've been recently
doing, cartoon reactions, anime TikToks,
movie reactions, I'm barely doing what I
used to do, which was anime reactions.
So, today I'm going to explain to you
guys what we're going to be doing on
this channel from here on out. Not only
this channel, but Nicholas Dark TV as
well. Like I said, guys, if you see what
I've been doing lately, this is what I
want to do. And I know what you're
saying in your head right now. You want
to do it because look at these views.
500,000, 600,000, 900k, 1 million. You
got a 1 million video within 2 days. Of
course, this is what you're going to
want to do. I'mma keep it a buck with
you guys. I wanted to do commentary for
years, and y'all know this. I've been
talking about this for years. I always
tell you I want to do commentary. I've
just been so scared to do it because I
don't want my audience to run away. But
these past 2 weeks with the whole
copyright strike takedown situation, the
react-apocalypse, it opened that door
for me. And it showed me that people
love hearing me just talk [ __ ] And I'm
a [ __ ] talker. I'm from New York. I want
to use this filthy [ __ ] mouth, and
that's what I'm going to start doing
more often on a consistent basis.
Besides the commentary content, movie
reactions. Every month I want to drop at
least four movie reactions on this
channel. The Harry Potter reactions that
y'all are loving right now, new movies
that everybody's talking about, I'm
going to be reacting to it and uploading
it to this channel. So, we got
commentary, movie reactions, gaming
content. Now, I know I've said this
before, I've promised this before, I'm
going to be gaming a lot, guys. Well, I
found a solution to this. And this leads
me to bad news for you guys, maybe, but
good news for me. There's no secret
about this. You could tell from the past
few months, I fell out of love with
streaming. I don't really want to stream
anymore. It doesn't match my energy. I
feel like I have so much energy and it's
hard to use that energy on stream for
hours and hours. My energy fits more
into content that I can edit and take my
time with. But, streaming left me very
anxious every single day. It left me
exhausted when I was done with it. And
before people are like, "It's an easy
job. All you do is watch stuff." Guys,
all I do is not watch stuff. I am a very
quiet person. So, when I'm on stream
screaming for 3 hours long every single
day, when I go upstairs to be with my
wife, I don't want to move until the
next day. I don't want to go outside, I
don't want to see family, I don't want
to do anything. It's because it's
draining. It drains me. So, for now, I'm
putting the streams on pause. Maybe
every now and then I'll return for a day
or two and then I'll leave for another
few months. I'm just not really into it
anymore. So, as far as the gaming
content goes, I want to do
play-throughs. I played GTA for the
first time. I played Persona for the
first time. Stuff like that. I'm not
sure if I want to stream right now. And
I'm not going to lie, for the past few
months I haven't streamed and I've had
so much fun because of it. I've been
able to create the content that I want
to create. I've been able to spend much
more time with my wife. I've been able
to live life more. I haven't been as
anxious. What about the anime? What most
of my audience is here for? Well, I
thought that's what most of my audience
is here for until I upload a commentary
video about PewDiePie and it gets five
times as much views as an anime reaction
does. So, let's talk about anime content
for the next minute or so. I feel like
I've reached a peak when it comes to
anime reactions. I'm not going to
sugarcoat this reaction. I'm going to be
as transparent as possible with you
guys. When it comes to anime reaction
content, everybody knows I'm on top.
Music reactions, dub versus sub,
tournaments. I'm not number one for
every single anime episode reaction, but
for most I am. I've done it all. Now, I
got to dig deep like I'm Simon from
Gurren Lagann in order to find an anime
reaction upload to this channel. But, as
far as this channel goes, when it comes
to anime content, the only anime content
you will see on this channel from now on
will be big videos. That could be a
whole season in one video, a big
collaboration video, anime movies, but
you're not going to see Classroom of the
Elite season 2 episode 5 on this
channel. You're not going to see the
newest season of Black Clover on this
channel. So, things obviously have to
change. I'm sick of dealing with
copyright strikes on this channel. I'm
sick of dealing with copyright claims
and getting videos removed, and
demonetized. I'm sick of that [ __ ] You
do it for the money. Guys, believe it or
not, this is my job. Of course, I do it
for the money, but I also need to have
fun with it. That's how a business
remains successful. So, that leads me to
my second channel, Nicholas Dark TV, the
new YouTube home for my anime content.
Daily anime episode reactions, One
Piece, Mushoku Tensei, Re:Zero,
Classroom of the Elite, Dragon Ball,
JoJo's Golden Wind, Steel Ball Run,
Black Clover. That's just naming anime
on top of my head. All of that is going
on my second channel from now on. So,
you're going to be getting at least one
episode drop on YouTube every single day
on that second channel. You're also
going to be getting two other uploads
every single day on that channel. So,
three uploads in total on Nicholas Dark
TV. What are those two other uploads
going to be? Music reactions, pretty
much the reactions y'all are used to
from me. It's going to be there. The
most successful channels on this
platform, they adapt and overcome. The
The reaction niche is declining year by
year. All the big channels are saying
exactly what I'm saying. It's why we're
doing anime content less than usual. It
just doesn't work like it used to. Plus,
we've done it all. How many times am I
going to do a save one anime opening
tournament where it's the same anime
openings? How many times can I react to
Naruto? I've done it all. And I'm not
going to let people keep me in a box.
And I respect that people love me for
the anime reactions, but I need y'all to
understand that when I upload an anime
reaction, I get about 50 to 80 comments.
But when I upload a commentary video, I
get thousands of comments. People engage
with what I'm talking about, mentioning
moments in the video of something I've
said, and expanding on that, and having
a conversation back and forth. With the
anime reactions, you go in the comment
sections for pretty much every anime
reaction, not only my channel, but
others as well. It's mostly people
giving fun facts about the episodes. And
as much as we all appreciate that, the
conversation with anime reactions, it's
getting lower and lower. You could say
I'm wrong, but I know what I'm doing. I
do my re- search. I am obsessed when it
comes to YouTube analytics. I'm
constantly looking at what every other
channel is doing. Anime reactions are
falling off, and I'm not going to fall
off with it. If you can't tell what I've
been doing, there's going to be a lot of
people watching this right now that feel
betrayed. You used us for the anime
reactions. They want to keep me in this
box. Guys, I love anime. I will always
love anime. I'll always be thankful for
what anime did for my life. And I'm
never stopping the anime content.
Patreon, by the way, I haven't even
mentioned Patreon. Patreon gets daily
anime content. It's always going to get
daily anime content for years and years
and years to come. So, I'm not stopping
anime content. I'm just doing things
differently on this channel. I'm a human
just like you guys. I don't want to do
the same [ __ ] forever, especially when
it's not working, and this is my job.
And I hope this inspires other channels
to think outside the box as well. Not to
be scared to pull the trigger on other
ideas, just because they're afraid that
their audience isn't it to respond well
to it, and they're going to be like, "We
didn't sign up for this. We want this.
We want more reactions." I'm going to be
honest with you guys, if that's how
you're going to talk to me, just leave.
There's plenty of other channels that
will do what you want them to do. I've
never been that channel. I refuse to
blend in. I refuse to be predictable. I
refuse to stay inside of a box. I always
want to raise the bar higher and higher
and higher. And right when I start
getting comfortable, I want to snap out
of it and start raising that bar again
higher and higher. I have big plans for
this channel, and as you can see for the
past few weeks, I've finally been doing
things differently. This is [ __ ] I've
been talking about for like 2 years now.
Guys, I'm going to start doing
commentary and other content, and then I
end up never doing it. Now I'm [ __ ]
doing it. I've been telling y'all this
for years. I am finally doing it. And I
know people are going to leave. A lot of
people just want anime reactions. They
want me to react to episodes and the
same music over and over again. Nick,
you still haven't reacted to this niche
anime. I'm not going to do that on this
channel. I tell you guys time and time
again, I would just be digging myself
into an early grave if I reacted to that
niche anime. I don't want to do it. And
before I go today, I want to thank
everybody these past few weeks for all
of the love and support you've been
giving me. It's been a hard past few
weeks. Myself and many other reaction
channels, we almost lost our livelihood,
and you guys really helped when it came
to my mental health, and I can speak for
others others mental health as well.
