Right. All right. Let's please continue. Um so we mentioned some applications of this. We are um set apart in Christ. We are holy. Uh so we uh keep all sin away from our spirit, soul and body. And the second thing we looked at was we are holy in Christ. Therefore we crucify the sinful desires. We purify and renew our mind. may pursue a lifestyle of holiness. Okay. Now, um as we mentioned earlier, Apostle Paul when he writes to different churches, we see that he uses this term uh that we are called to be saints, right? The or we are saints in Christ. So, we'll just read through the some verses here. 1 Corinthians 1:2 to the church of God is at Corinth to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus. So, we are sanctified in Christ. is called to be saints. Okay, there in uh Romans chapter 1:7, to all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints. There again, you see Ephesians 1:1, to the saints who are in Ephesus, uh Philippians 4:21, greet every saint in Christ Jesus. So, uh all of these verses tells us that this is our position. Um the new creation we are in Christ Jesus. uh we are created in righteousness and true holiness. We are set apart for God. So each one of us are saints. Okay. So uh Saint Reni, Saint an Saint Anthony Maria, this is how God calls us. Okay. Saint Bula Grace may not feel like it uh but that's the truth. Where are the other saints? Let me just see um some other saints also. The names we have not mentioned yet. Saint Janet Thomas, Saint Kiran Buddha, Saint Pastor Stanley, oh Saint Stanley, sorry, Saint Prasad, Saint Sabita, Saint Saurab. Okay. So this is how God calls us. He has called us as saints. Now it is not because of what we have done. It is all because of what he has done. And he calls us. Hey saint, I want you to walk in this. So remind ourselves that we are saints in Christ. We are set apart, sanctified in Christ. So we live out of this. Okay. And another interesting verse in 2 Timothy 1:9 can um if possible anybody from BC campus can please read this for us. 2 Timothy 1:9. 2 Timothy 1:9. Um guys, you there? Yeah. Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace which he has given to us in Christ Jesus before time begin. >> Yeah. Thank you. So the word says he saved us called us with a holy calling not according to our works not because of what we have done but according to see these words according to his own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ before time began. So what happened when he called us? His purpose, his grace which was extended to us. This was God's plan even before time began. So if I want to take one example um if um you know if I talk about um Jeda who is here on call okay just picking up one name. So God called Jeda and God said I'm extending my purpose to you. I'm giving you my grace so that you can walk in this holy calling. So one um natural way of thinking is let's say a company is hiring somebody right and you go to the office um and the company provides you everything to work like okay the laptop the internet connection and the access to different AI tools or whatever. So it it is that they have called you, you have joined them and they are providing everything. Now God is saying I have called you. You responded to that call and all that is needed for your life, the purpose. I'm giving you my purpose. I'm giving you my grace so that you can walk in this holy calling. Okay. So um so and he's continuing to do that. He continues to sanctify us. Um we'll we'll come to that point in a bit. Okay. So and and the believers are the holy temple in the Lord. This is a very beautiful picture that we have about um uh each one of us. Okay. So Ephesians 2:21-22 we say in whom the whole building being fitted together grows into a holy temple in the Lord in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the spirit. Now think about this. So God is a holy God, right? He is absolute pure. So the place where he dwells also would be pure, right? He dwells in that holiness. And and God says you are being built together. You are growing into a holy temple in the Lord. So we are the holy temple in the Lord. We are the temple of God. Meaning this is the place where God dwells. Our life is the place where God dwells. It is a reality. It is not something fictional. Okay, God dwells somewhere. No, he is inside of us. The moment this was the prayer we prayed, isn't it? We prayed, Lord, come into my life. He came. So, this is the place where he dwells. So, he has sanctified us. He has sanctified us and he is expecting us to be fit together. growing into a holy temple as well. So um so God dwells by his spirit. So he dwells in the area of our spirit, right? And so this is a place where um the the holiness uh begins to spring forth and so as we said earlier when we are new creation the new creation is in the spirit. So we became something new in the area of our spirit and the mind and the body that is now being transformed because our spirit is made new. So our spirit has become holy right now and through that the overflow uh by the renewing of our mind by the word of God by the work of the Holy Spirit we are being renewed in the area of our mind and also the desires of the body. Okay. So each one of us are called as God's holy temple. Okay. Each one of us individually we are the temple of God. This is the place where God dwells. Local church uh as a local church as well. We are holy temple of God where God dwells. Um the entire body of Christ is also called as the temple of God where the you know we we are different parts. We are in different parts of the world. Some of us are in India, some of us are are in different parts of the world. But all of us are together a place called the holy temple where God dwells. But at the same time, each one of us individually, we are also holy temple. Look at this verse. 1 Corinthians 3:16. Do you not know that you are the temple of God and the spirit of God dwells in you? Okay, so the spirit of God dwells in you as a body of Christ. We are the temple of God and the spirit of God dwells inside of us. Again in 1 Corinthians 6 verse 19 uh we see about individuals like each one of us as individuals being the temple of God. I'll read it for us. Um I'll read from verse 18. Flee >> first Corinthians >> 1 Corinthians 6 18 and 19. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body. So this is individually right? Every other sin the man commits is outside the body. But the immoral man sins against his own body. Talking about a person individual. Then the word says do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. So you yourself I myself is the place where God dwells. He dwells inside of us. Collectively as a church we are the temple of God where God dwells. That's why when we come together we experience the presence of God. Um because he dwells. And Bible also says you would learn you I I hope you're learning this in praise and worship uh section in in that class he dwells in the midst of praising people. So when we praise God when we worship God he comes his presence comes because we are the temple uh of the Holy Spirit. Okay. So physical body is also the place where God dwells. So that is why we got to be careful not allowing the the uh the pleasures of the body to rule us. Do not submit ourselves to the deeds of the body but crucify the sinful desires. Okay. Another important truth about being sanctified. I mentioned this earlier is that we are sanctified in Christ and we are being sanctified in Christ. Every day, every moment we are being sanctified. Uh just just read through these passages. Um uh can I request anyone of us to please read Hebrews chapter 10 uh verse 9 and 10. Hebrews chapter 10 verse 9 and 10. Hebrews 10 9 and 10. >> Then he said and >> behold I have come to do your will, oh God. He takes away the first that he may establish the second. But by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. >> Yes. Thank you. So this word says I have come to do your will. He takes away the first. What is the first here? Talks about the first covenant or the the old covenant and he established the second the new covenant. So when we study uh when you study Hebrews you would learn about this or I think the next semester you have something called the covenants the cross and the blood. That's a subject there also we learn this. Okay. So he takes away the first and establish the second means the the old covenant is now removed and now we have the new covenant and in this new covenant verse 10 by that what is that in the new covenant or by the new covenant by that will or will in the English language talks about the new the word covenant. Okay. Um, that's the meaning of the word. By that will, by that covenant, we have been sanctified. See the tense used there. We have been sanctified or uh we have already been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Then in verse 14, so this is verse 10. Verse 14 we read by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. So we are sanctified by our lord Jesus but at the same time we are being san. So this is a present continuous process. So it is completed in the mind of God. It is completed but at the same time in the natural God is doing it every day in our life. That is why the the first couple of things we mentioned I hope you remember that um we do not allow keep the sin away from our spirit and body put together the deeds of the body renew and purify our mind walk in the holy lifestyle uh lifestyle of holiness all these are important because we are being sanctified. So when we say we are being sanctified, it means that because of the new covenant, he has sanctified us in the spiritual in the natural we live out of it and we it it's a completed work in the spirit and it is a present continuous process in our daily life. Just mention that once again there's a statement which is there in page number 49. Sanctification is a completed work in the spirit. God has completed all that is required. It is a completed work in the spirit but it is also a present continuous process in our daily life. Every day the lord is working in us. Every day he is changing us, transforming us into the image um of the lord Jesus. Okay. So I'll just u mention one another important part here. God uses several methods to sanctify us. Okay. God uses several methods. One of the main way in which God uses is his word. John 17:17 we read that sanctify them by your truth. Your word is truth. Sometimes God uses um the nudging of the Holy Spirit. He leads us right. So we read in John chapter 16 um that when he comes he the spirit of truth he will lead you into all truth. Okay? He will guide you into all. So so this is the work of the Holy Spirit. So there is a work of the word of God, the spirit of God. Um sometimes God also uses people. Okay, this is important. God also uses people. So what happens especially Okay, I'll just uh mention this to us. Especially in our relationships, God uses our relationships to sanctify us. For example, a person who thinks I have no issues with anger. Okay, I have no issues with anger. I have overcome that area. I don't get triggered by anything. This person gets into a relationship, marry somebody. First week is okay. Second week is okay. One month passed by, two months passed by, third month, fourth month. Slowly he begins to understand that anger is not gone. There are areas of my life which was not triggered yet which can only be triggered by my partner. So what do we understand? There are areas which needs purification of God. Okay. So God uses relationship. So one of the ways in which so this is a uh what do you say bonus tip okay one of the ways in which we can have a successful married life okay one I'll I'll share one tip um I'm not that experienced to share this we just completed six years in marriage u but the lord has been teaching so much so I'm sharing this one of the ways in which you can have a very peaceful and successful married life is to recognize ize that God uses relationship to sanctify us. Okay, if you agree with me, you can maybe put one emoji or u thumbs up or anything or maybe I'm the only one person. Okay. No, no, no. I'm not I'm not alone. Okay. So, God uses God uses relationship. So how does God do it? No, he just helps us to identify our trigger points. You know, sometimes we think we have the the story which I mentioned is my life. Okay. I was the person who was thinking I am the most calmst person ever in this world. I was thinking oh this I don't get triggered by anything. Then I understood there are areas in my life which which can be triggered only my my loving partner right and and this is the area that I need to understand this I need to understand my pitfalls I need to understand the area in which I have problem so that I can uh god can work in my life and make me more like him. So I would um suggest or request all of us to consider all our relationship in this manner. Not just husband and wife even um even our parents sometimes um people in the church it it is not that people are bad people are not bad 80% times okay but there are times when God uses them to help us understand that these are the areas where we need to identify uh this is this is my areas of weakness and and what happens we are able to understand this triggering point sometimes um anger sometimes the pride sometimes um overconfidence all of these small small areas which we neglect normally um it is God helping us to understand that is why um you know the word says they will become one okay you have a separate course on marriage and family I'm not getting there but I'm just telling as part of this okay um that we become one and because God is sanctifying us through this relationship. Okay. So it is God who sanctifies and uh this is his way of doing it. So it is a present continuous process. What he has done for us, we continue to um see that manifest in our life every day. Um so the holiness of God touches our affections, our appetites, our actions, our words, our choices, um our desires, our dreams. So we we got to let that touch. Okay, we got to let the work of the Holy Spirit to happen in all of these areas. If there are rooms in our lives, we have not given the key to God. Okay. Uh I think we should really consider about that. Lord touch each of my areas. Uh maybe some part of our life we are just keeping it one side. Lord don't involve in this. This is too dear for me. But God would say uh you know we see this in 1 Thessalonians 5:23. The God of peace sanctify you completely. Sanctify you completely. The spirit, soul, and body may be preserved blameless for the coming of our Lord Jesus. So this is 1 Thessalonians 5:23. So he wants to sanctify us completely. He is doing that. So all of these areas even the I would say the boxes in our mind where we have not let go uh to do his work. Sometimes it is money like oh I think I have everything everything I have but I love God to touch that area. Let our dependence be completely on God. Right? Let the faith arise and let that dependence trust be completely on God. So uh you could just examine yourself and also think about this that any part in my life which has not been given to God to allow his word to touch us and sanctify us we should allow that to happen. Amen. So be it through relationship be through the word of God be through the power of the Holy Spirit. May the Lord do it and we are being sanctified. Okay. And his nature is reproduced in us. God's nature. So as we said in the beginning, holiness, the word holiness is an attribute of God. He is holy and that nature is now reproduced in us that is imparted to us. God is expressing that nature through us. And we read in second 2 second 2 second 2 second 2 second 2 second 2 second 2 second 2 second 2 second 2 second 2 second Peter chapter 1:3 I think second 2 second Peter yeah second Peter chapter 1:3 we read his divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness um his divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness through the knowledge of him and goes on to say in verse four that by them You may become partakers of the divine nature. Okay, this is 2 Peter 1 3 4 and 5. 3 and 4 in fact. Um so by the promises we may become particles of his divine nature. The nature of God shall be replicated in us. So allow that to happen in our life. Okay. Right. We are sanctified by the word and spirit. I think we just mentioned this that the word of God um God uses that to sanctify us. We looked at John 17:17. We'll also look at one more verse. Ephesians 5:25-27. Anybody can read for us, please. Ephesians 5 25-27. Husband, love your wives just as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for her, that he might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that he might present her to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkles, or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. >> Yes. Thank you. So that word says um uh the relationship between husband and wife and especially this part where it connects them to um the relationship between Jesus and the church. Right? So um verse 25 says love your wives just as Christ also loved the church that how did he love the church? Look at 26. That he might sanctify and cleanse her. This is how God loved that he might sanctify and uh cleanse her with the washing of water by the word. So the word of God through that he is sanctifying sanctifying each one of us by the word of God. So every time we read the word of God what happens it produces the holiness of God in us. Look at Acts chapter 20:32. Anyone can please read Acts 20 verse 32. Acts 20:32. So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. >> Yes. Thank you. So, I commend you to God and to the word of his grace. So the word of God, what does it do? It is able to build you up. So build you up and give you an inheritance. Build you up also includes um removing the unnecessary part and building us together in the holiness of God. Sanctifying us. So the word of God is building us up. The word of God is sanctifying us. It washes every filth. It washes um every dirt and it produces uh the nature of God inside of us. Um Psalms 119 Psalms 119 verse 9. Psalms 119 verse 9. How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to your word. Right? And also verse 11 say Psalms 119 verse9 also if you look at verse 11 your words I have treasured in my heart of I have hidden in my heart that I may not sin against you. So God is cleansing us God is purifying us by the word of God the rich deposit of God's word. Every day when we spend time in God's word, maybe it's the same passage we have read earlier, maybe some passage we are familiar with as well, but God ministers to us through the word of God. He he touches these areas. Okay. So, one one of the ways in which God uh cleanses us is by the word of God. And the other one is by the spirit of God. The Holy Spirit, the word itself says holy spirit, the spirit of holiness. So he comes with his nature, the holiness of God. So when he is um enthroned in our lives, what happens? He sanctifies us. He sanctifies us in uh you know through and through. Um so Romans chapter 15 verse 6. Romans 15 verse 6. I'll read it for us. Um, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Um, it is verse 16. Sorry. Oh, my bad. Verse 16 says, "To be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, ministering as a priest of the gospel of God, so that my offering of the Gentiles may become acceptable. sanctified by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one who sanctifies us. He sanctifies us. Again, second Peter, sorry, 1 Peter 1 verse 2, 1 Peter 1 verse two, we read, "According to the fornowledge of God the Father by the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit." Okay. 1 Peter 1:2, sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. These words tell us that Holy Spirit is the one who sanctifies us. So how does Holy Spirit do this? So when we are having a wrong thought which is not according to the word of God, the spirit of God gives us a nudge. Hey that that thought is not from God. The spirit of God tells us this is not right. You shouldn't be thinking like this. And when we are about to do something wrong, Holy Spirit tells us, hey son, daughter, don't do this. So what what is it that he is trying to tell us? He's telling us that this is not from God. And he convicts us. He convicts us of our sin. He tells us, "Hey, this is not according to the word of God. I want you to be perfect in this area." So, we submit that matter unto the hands of God. Okay? So, the word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, it cleanses us. All right? We'll just pause here. Um, everybody okay? >> Pastor, can you throw some light on the difference between perfection and sanctification? >> I forget the reference, but you just said a verse today where both the words were mentioned. >> Yeah. Uh I think the word which we used is uh purify for himself those who are being sanctified is in Hebrews chapter 10 um verse perfected forever. Verse 14 uh uh Hebrews 10:14 by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. Okay. What is the difference between perfection and sanctification? So we'll just share simple thoughts on this. Um so so we mentioned that we are sanctified in Christ. Um so this is uh something which the Lord completed at the cross all the work required and we are being sanctified. So if you also see how perfection is defined to us it's also very similar. So if especially in this verse which we mentioned in Hebrews 10, he has perfected forever. So which means in the mind of God, God sees us as perfect and the perfection is what the Lord is doing even right now. So my understanding is we are sanctified in Christ. We are being per we are being sanctified. We are perfected in Christ. We are being perfected in Christ. So this this is a very very similar term. Um but at the same time if you also look at uh how um Apostle John mentions just quickly get that verse for us. Um in in 1 John chapter uh this is what verse chapter 2 verse 5 okay chapter 2 this is 1 John chapter 2 so I'll read from verse uh three onwards. By this we know that we have come to know him if he keep his commandments. The one who says I have come to know him and does not keep his commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps his word in him the love of God has truly been perfected. So this is talking about walking in perfection. Walking in perfection or we can say walking in the love of God. So the word used there is when we continue to walk in the ways of God, the love of God is being perfected. So so these are things which are done which continues to happen. So we are the righteousness of God and we continue to walk in that. We are the holiness of God. We continue to walk in that. We are perfected by God but we continue to walk in that. Now there is also this word says um that when um this is Colossians chapter 3:3 the second part of that verse Colossians chapter 3 verse three um I think it's verse 4 verse three says Colossians 3:3 says you died and your life is hidden with Christ um and when Christ our life appears that's the next verse when Christ our life appears he will bring with him. You will you will appear with him in glory. Okay, I'll just um Colossians 3 verse 4. Let's check. Yeah, verse four. When Christ who is alive is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory. When Christ our life appears, you will appear with him in glory. So this is the perfection in in that sense like we are completely in Christ free from everything but at the same time here in this world we are being perfected in in in those areas. Um the Lord is leading us. We identify those areas. Um but um when Christ our life appears we will appear with him in his glory. That is the pinnacle of glorification. That is why we also study in 1 Corinthians chapter 15 um this corruptible body shall put on the incorruptible. Um that is the the pinnacle of perfection that happens when the Lord returns. Um but here in this world remember we are perfected, we are sanctified but we are being sanctified. We are perfected. We are being perfected. Every day the Lord is making us perfect but the completeness of that happens. uh in um when when the Lord returns. Okay, there's one more verse in uh epistle of John. I can find the reference right now. Um yeah, right. Right. You got it. So, 1 John chapter 3. 1 John chapter 3 verse 2. 1 John chapter 3 2. Yeah. Go ahead. Go ahead. >> Sorry. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when he is revealed, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. >> The next verse also, please. >> And everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself just as he is pure. >> Yes. So, I think this makes more it more clear. when he appears we will be like him because we will see him just as he is. So this is the as we said the the the perfection of being perfected like when because when we see him just the way he is we will be like him right and then everyone who has this hope that one day I will be like him what should he do he purifies himself just as he is pure. So here in this world we um work with the Holy Spirit by the word of God being purified in all these areas uh which the Lord is leading us and the perfection the complete perfection I don't know if that's a perfect usage to have but that happens when the Lord appears and we will see him just the way he is because we will see uh we will be like him because we will see him the way he is. Whoever who has this hope that I I'm going to see Jesus, let him purify himself here in this world. Does that make sense? Is that okay? >> Yes, pastor. So, can I just put it simply? Um, suppose I have 300 days on this earth and I was saved on day 14. From day 14, 15, 16 till 300, I am being sanctified daily. And on day 300 uh which is either um uh which is the day I meet Jesus face to face I am perfected. >> Uh you can also say it in the other sense like you are also being perfected. It is the perfection is also happening. So when we say sanctification it's also correlating to perfection. Um and when the lord appears yes that's right. >> Thank you. Yes. So always remember this is the cream of what we are mentioning. We are already sanctified by our position. We are holy. We are holy in Christ. We are set apart in Christ. So we are not doing anything to become holy but the Lord is working in us. We are being sanctified in each areas of our life. Okay. So what do we do? So we'll we'll just continue looking at a lesson chapter 41 page number 50. Um we possess your vessel possess your vessel in holiness and honor. Uh possess your vessel in holiness and honor. So I just read this verse uh 1 Thessalonians 4 1-7. Finally then, brethren, we urge and exalt in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God. And you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, your sanctification, that you should abstain from sexual immor immorality, that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and in honor. Look at that verse. was for each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and in honor, not in passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God. Um that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter because the Lord is the avenger of all such and we also for forewarned you and testified for God did not call us to uncleanness but in holiness. So look at that verse four. Verse four is very three and four is very important for this is the will of God your sanctification that you should abstain from sexual immorality. So in that context he says each of you should know how to possess his own vessel. So what is this vessel? Our own body right our own life. Um we should know how to possess ourselves. Uh how to take care of this in sanctification and in honor. So in simple terms, see we know our weaknesses. We know which area is our challenge. For some people it is money, some people it is pride, some people it is uh it is lust. It can be different for different people like it. It can be very different for different people. So each one of us should know how should I possess my own vessel, my own life in sanctification and honor. So if you think about that, I like to think like this. See all of us know the areas of our challenges like all of us know like this is the area I'm I need to be careful about and God gives us that understanding right so in that area especially in those areas we need to put double guard double god so if if you're someone who is um finding it difficult to handle money or you know not being faithful in money it It is good to have uh somebody who is whom we we can be accountable for, right? So maybe our partner, maybe someone who is good in uh helping us understanding this uh money matters. So what happens? We are not unnecessarily um uh spending out or we are not unnecessarily causing this problem and also if it is pride or if it is lust in a similar way. So we got to have our own strategies. Okay. So I'll just put it like this. We need to have our own strategies to keep our own vessel in sanctification and in honor. Your strategy might be different from my strategy. So if you are somebody if there is someone who is having a problem with um talking to people in other opposite gender so have your own strategy. Okay, make a choice. Okay, after 9:00 at night, I'm not going to reply to any messages or initiate a conversation with somebody in the opposite gender. What is that? I am possessing my own vessel. I'm taking care of what God has given to me. Okay, am I making sense? Uh guys, so yeah, this this is important. I need to know what is um my area of challenge um and and we need to work towards that. You know, I need to know how to possess my own vessel. Let's read that again. Each of you should know how to possess his own vessel. Especially in this context, he's talking about sexual immorality, right? And he says you should know how to uh possess your own vessel in sanctification and have your own strategy. um have your own uh way of handling these things because this is important. You possess your own vessel in holiness and honor. Stay away from anything that violates God's holiness in us. Um another uh point here is walk in love to walk in holiness. So this is important for us to remember that we cannot walk in uh hate or walk in what is it pride and say that I I walk in holiness. This is uh interesting if you see this verse 1 Thessalonians chapter 3 12 and 13. May the Lord make you increase abound in love to one another and to all just as we do to you so that he may establish your heart blameless in holiness before our God and father at the coming of our lord Jesus Christ with all his saints. So if we cannot walk in holiness if you do not walk in love. So he tells the believers apostle Paul tells his believers hey let that love increase among each one of you. Right? So when we walk in love, we abide in him and it becomes easy for us to walk a holy life. Just think about this. Um imagine you have a very very close friend. Okay, I I hope all of us are listening. Imagine you have a very very close friend and the more you walk with that person, the more you um become like that person. Sometimes the words we speak are like how they speak. Um the jokes we make are similar to what they make you know it becomes like that after a point of time right so it is like you you become what you behold right you you you become what you you're seeing that person over and over again and then you become like that. So if our love towards God is so strong and it becomes easy for us to walk in his commandments that's why Jesus said if you love me you will obey my commandments. So the basis of holiness or basis of walking in purity is the love towards God. It's not that okay if I do this God is going to come and punish me. On the other side, I love God. So, I don't want to involve in this. I love God. I love God. That love towards God is more than um this particular matter. Are you understanding? This is this is the key of walking in holiness. Walking in holiness is based on the love of God. So, continue to walk in the love of God. And please connect this verse with Jesus said, "If you love me, you will obey my commandments." Because everything comes out of love. It is not out of compulsion. It is out of love. I love Jesus, so I don't want to watch anything unclean. I love Jesus, so I take care of my body. I love Jesus, so I don't want to speak anything unclean. It is coming from a place of love. It should come from a place. And what happens that that's what Jesus said the the commandments which I have for you is not that hard because it is coming from a place of love and that's why the new covenant becomes very interesting. All that we are doing right now is coming from a place of love. Love does not enjoy sin. Love enjoy holiness. Okay. And at the same time um on on a parallel side okay if I say I am the most holy person here in this world and I begin not to talk to people around me uh not to care for people I don't want to talk because I don't want to lose my holiness that is not a right attitude it should come from a place of love you see how apostle Paul wrote to these believers he said abound in love continue to grow in love so that the holiness of God can be manifested in us. May the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness. Amen. So um so if we focus too much on if you focus like um certain form, mannerisms, dress code and not showing the love of God, what is the point? There's no point. Okay, you put white and white and then only the holiness is seen in you. I'm becoming legalistic and not allowing the love of God. So it comes from a place of love. The holiness of God is replicated in us from a place of love. Okay. Um are you with me everybody? Okay. Right. Great. And we have our um our own standards. Okay. The standard is the standard of God. Um in Romans chap 12 verse one and two. I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God which is your reasonable service. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God according to the mercies of God. According to um the mercies of God, that ye present our bodies as a living sacrifice. Uh maybe I'll take a little extra time to explain this was a very beautiful verse. Um by the way, what is our memory verse for today? Okay, just just asking. Okay. Did we mention about Romans 8:13 as our memory verse anytime earlier? I'm also Oh, no. Okay. Okay. Romans 8:13. I think we should keep that as our memory verse. Romans 8:13. Very simple verse. Okay. If you live according to the flesh, you will die. But if by the spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Okay. Um I got a little confused because I'm also teaching the same subject uh here at one of our youth uh fellowships.
