I need your input! House updates & spend a day with me at the salon // Solo homeowner vlog
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
The vlogger returns to her channel after a two-week hiatus, explaining that she recently returned from Las Vegas with her boyfriend and has experienced a significant shift in perspective regarding relationships. She admits that while she entered the year expecting to remain single for an extended period due to past negative experiences, meeting someone special has completely changed her outlook on men and love. Professionally, she discusses how her salon schedule fluctuated wildly this week; after starting fully booked, several clients rescheduled appointments one by one, leaving her with a surprisingly open day. She decided to use this unexpected free time productively at home rather than rushing through work, aiming to tackle the backlog of chores that had accumulated while she was away and dealing with household issues like a lack of hot water caused by accidentally closing a valve in her attic's monitoring system.
A major focus of the video is an update on her living space renovation project, specifically rearranging the furniture to make the home feel more finished and cozy since moving in during December. She demonstrates how she moved narrow tables into gaps between chairs and against walls to create functional surfaces for plants and decor without obstructing walkways or blocking essential features like thermostats. The vlogger shares her philosophy on interior design, noting that unlike renting where one must fill spaces quickly with whatever is available, owning a house allows her time to find pieces she truly loves rather than wasting money on temporary fixes. She also addresses the state of her plant collection, explaining how many died in her previous apartment due to poor light and neglect, but now plans to propagate existing easy-care plants like Monstera and Pothos to build up her indoor garden sustainably without constantly buying new ones.
In addition to home updates, she shares personal life events that impacted the week's productivity, including getting a copper IUD inserted which left her feeling crampy for a couple of days before settling down enough to deep clean. This cleaning spree involved washing weeks' worth of laundry, organizing cluttered travel bags and jewelry collections in her bedroom, decluttering unused makeup products from her bathroom counter, and finally vacuuming and mopping the floors after dealing with the hot water outage. She also takes a moment to recommend the German sci-fi series "Dark" on Netflix as an excellent binge-watch that requires attention due to subtitles but offers a compelling story about interconnected families across different time periods. The video concludes with her expressing relief at having restored order and cleanliness to her home, acknowledging the stress of homeownership while celebrating how she is learning to handle repairs herself rather than missing renting.

Good morning. No, just kidding. Good
afternoon. It's like [gasps]
1:30 in the afternoon. Happy Thursday.
Welcome back to a new vlog. I'm so sorry
that I've been gone.
How many weeks did I skip? Two. Two
weeks maybe. I took a little bit of a
hiatus from uploading on here, which was
completely unintentional, but
just needed. I actually just got back a
few days ago from Las Vegas. I went with
my boyfriend.
We'll we'll talk about that at some
point, maybe in a future video. But
things have been going really, really,
really, really well. And it's just like
completely [sighs]
just not what I expected. Like when I
entered into this year, I was fully
ready and excited to just be single for
a very, very long time, if not like
forever. And I don't know, it's like my
whole perspective has changed. And it's
true what they say like when you are
least expecting it and not wanting it
and not looking that's when you find
your person and when you meet the right
person they will completely change your
perspective on everything. I don't know
my outlook on relationships and like
especially relationships with men was
very negative just from you know my past
experiences
and I've been converted. I truly just
didn't believe that it could be like
this good or that you know men like this
actually existed. So yeah, it's it's
been good over here. But I woke up this
morning and I actually have off of work
today. It's a one of those weird weeks
where I started out the week being fully
booked and then like one by one people
kept reaching out rescheduling their
appointments. So, you know, it's better
than them cancelling altogether cuz at
least they're coming in like a week or
two. So, it's not like I lost the
appointments altogether. Um, but it's
like, oh, okay. This went from like a
fully booked week to like a really slow
week.
But I'm trying to take advantage of it.
My whole entire day ended up opening up
today. So, I'm not going into the salon
and I'm just going to be home. And I
want to be productive and take advantage
of having this whole day free.
Good morning. Welcome back to another
vlog. Happy Wednesday. Feeling a little
bit crazy. I just like threw my hair up
in a
kind of crazy messy claw clip situation
cuz it's just been pouring rain all
week. Right now it's not raining
obviously, but like it's just clouds
everywhere. It feels so humid and wet
and sticky and like it's just too
uncomfortable to wear your hair down. I
got the new Alani flavor
and I'm so excited to try it. And I also
just feel like I really need caffeine
today. It's purple cotton candy.
don't like that.
I mean, I'll drink it, but
Well,
it has a grape taste, like an artificial
grape that's kind of between grape soda,
which I love grape soda, but also
a little bit like cough medicine.
that kind of grape, which is not good.
So, it's not like absolutely horrible,
but I would not get this flavor again.
Anyway, I don't have too much time to
chat right now. I just wanted to say
hello, get the vlog started. I am on my
way to the salon. I have three clients
on my schedule and yeah, I'm looking
forward to it. Should be fun stuff.
Heat. Heat.

>> Hello. Hello. It's several hours later.
I have my second client currently here.
Um, she is in the processing room down
the hall. I have her under some heat.
It's crazy. She not only has virgin hair
right now, but she has never colored her
hair ever before, which is so exciting,
so cool, so rare, and also like what an
honor that she trusts me to be the first
person to color her hair ever. Um, but
we are doing peekaboo color. So
sectioning from like the side
and just the back so that when her hair
is down, you can just see like little
pieces of the color peeking through. And
then like when she pulls it all forward
or obviously she does like a half up.
And we're doing a like dusty
pink
color. So,
um, dirty pink is actually the color I'm
using. I'm using one of the Pulp Riot
highspeed toners. I've used this color
before and it's really pretty. And these
toners are nice. They work really well.
But yeah, she's currently sitting under
the heat with a bunch of foils in her
hair. Her hair is so
long and thick. the texture of her hair,
her cuticle is like really tight, I
guess. And her hair is just like very
healthy. So, [sighs]
it is lifting very slowly. And
obviously, I wanted to be careful and
not damage her hair. So, I did 20 volume
in my lightener.
Um, and I did like really thin
see-through sections, but oh my god, it
is lifting so slowly.
Um, and I need to get her like pretty
blonde in order for the pink color to
like come out right. So, I just keep
going every like 10 to 15 minutes and
checking on her. I mean, it's healthy.
It's looking good. It's just lifting
very slowly, which kind of was like
making me panic a little bit because I'm
supposed to have a haircut appointment
after hers
and I was supposed to be done with her
hair at 4:00 and it's currently 3:15 and
she's still under the heat lamp. I feel
like she's going to probably need at
least another 20 minutes and she's
already been under there for about a
half hour. [sighs]
It's just lightning a lot slower than I
would have expected. But I also like
that's the thing that's tricky. Like she
submitted a form and sent me her photos
of her hair. So like I did see how long
it was, but you don't know like the true
density of someone's hair or like the
texture of it until you really see them
in person.
And you also don't always know how their
hair is going to lift and take to color
until you've done it before. So
yeah, it's uh can be tricky. And she was
originally going to be my last client of
the day, but then I I don't know. I was
like, "Oh, I had another client reach
out and I was like, "Yeah, sure. Let me
book a haircut. Um I have time." But now
I'm panicking because I'm like there's
just
no way. And I feel like the timing is
not going to work out because I wish the
haircut client either was coming sooner
cuz I could have been cutting her hair
this whole time while this client's been
processing
and then I could have just been done
earlier
cuz now I'm like I don't know exactly
when I'm going to get done. So, I text
her and I let her know that I'm running
really behind and asked if she could
come an hour later. Um, or if that time
doesn't work for her, I offered her
another time later in the week.
I mean, we literally just booked this
appointment yesterday afternoon, so she
can't be too mad about that. But, I
don't know. She hasn't answered me yet.
So,
that's the thing that like stresses me
out. And I know it's just part of the
job and it is what it is. and like we
run behind. And
I mean, I've maybe only once ever had a
situation where a client was like
got frustrated with having to wait like
ever in my almost 10 years of doing
hair. you know, most of the time
everyone's really understanding and I
always try to be understanding when
clients are running late to their
appointments because like then sometimes
I'm running behind and you know, it's
just it's just happens sometimes, but it
stresses me out so much for some reason.
Like I hate it. Even if I'm just running
like 10 minutes behind,
I just like panic. I don't know. It'll
be fine. It'll all work out. And I
always have to remind myself in these
moments like don't try to rush through
the process. Don't like cut her
processing time and wash her out before
she's really done and lifted to where
she needs to be just to like try to save
time because then the result is not
going to come out good and
she's going to be unhappy or I'm going
to have to, you know, redo and start all
over again and that's just going to take
more time. So,
trying to just be patient,
let her hair process, let it just slowly
lift and get to where it needs to be.
And the pressure is really on, too,
because she's just in town visiting. She
doesn't live here. So, I have to like
get it perfect because it's not like I
can just tell her to like come back next
week or something, you know, if
something doesn't turn out quite right
or she's unhappy or whatever. It's like
this is my one opportunity. So,
yeah, wish me luck that it goes well.
I'll show you her hair when it's done
and
we'll see what happens with this
haircut. And then I have a new client
that wants to do a virtual consultation.
So I might be doing that once I'm done
with work for the day today. So we'll
see what happens. It might end up being
kind of a long day. [music]
[music]
>> [music]
[music]
>> It came out so pretty. And that ended up
taking way longer than expected. When I
texted my last client who was supposed
to come in for the haircut, originally
she was scheduled for 4:00. I texted her
and I said, "Can you come at 5:00
instead cuz I'm running really behind."
I just finished checking her out. It's
5:37.
So, it ended up taking a whole
hour and a half
plus longer than expected. So,
[snorts]
that's why I say double booking really
stresses me out because
sometimes you don't know, especially if
you're doing a service on a new client
or, you know, they're changing it up,
doing something different with their
hair. Sorry for all the boring hair talk
for the non-hair stylists watching, but
um luckily my last client, she ended up
just rescheduling for a different day.
So that worked out and she was like very
understanding about it. It was no big
deal. So grateful for that. And it's
good for me because
now I can just go home and I don't have
to be here as late because I was here
kind of late last night and I'm going to
be here even later tomorrow night and
tomorrow is going to be kind of a crazy
day because I am back to back to back to
back to back. I have five clients so
it'll be an interesting day. But I'm
going to finish cleaning up and head
home.
Hello.
>> Hey, Kelly.
>> Hey. Yes.
>> Hi. This is Sam. Were you covering your
grays with permanent color ever? I was
so excited to get home. So, I got here,
ate dinner, put on I've been watching
old seasons of Love Island that I never
watched when they like originally came
out. And um then I was just sitting here
and I was like, "Oh my god,
I was supposed to call that client and
do a virtual consultation." Luckily,
just like over the phone, not a
FaceTime. So, um but I just got off the
phone with her. She sounds super sweet
and really reasonable and realistic with
her goals and what she wants. So, I got
her appointment booked and I am really
looking forward to it. I get so excited.
Like I mean obviously my regulars that
have been coming to me for a really long
time. I love getting to see them.
Especially the ones that like like my
first client this morning feels like a
friend to me. And every time she comes
in I'm like I can't wait to like catch
up and hear what's been going on in her
life and her dating life. And like we
always have some kind of cra well her
more so some crazy stories to share and
um like I just I love that. I love the
relationship
that I have with my regulars. But it is
really exciting getting a new client and
especially when
like the vibes just feel good and it
just feels like we're going to click and
like it's a good match. And especially
when it's like a younger client, like
more within my age range. I listen, I
love my older clients too, don't get me
wrong, but um I don't know. I just, you
know, like the conversation is just
always flows more easily and I feel like
I can relate and it's just
always
good vibes when I get like the younger
girls. Yeah. And I'm just so grateful
that I still get new clients reaching
out regularly and even though like I was
going through a pretty slow
season like the last few weeks. Um
which, you know, it worked out to my
advantage because I've had a lot of
stuff going on in my social life. I've
been like out and about a lot and so
it's been kind of nice to like get a
little bit of a break work-wise to just
like enjoy my summer. But now things are
picking back up and it's getting busier.
Um, which also is good and I'm like
excited about that. And you know,
financially especially. Oh, but I've
been watching the show Dark on Netflix.
I don't know when the most recent season
came out, but I know season 1 came out
in like 2019 or 2020, and it's been
sitting on my watch list like since it
first came out. but it's in German and I
just I don't know. I was like I don't
want to have to like deal with the
subtitles or if I put like the English
dub over it that always is like hard to
get into because I feel like the voice
actors are like not always the best. And
then like obviously their lips are not
matching up. But I started watching it
over the weekend and oh my god it is so
good. And I'm actually really upset
because I've been watching it with
Justin and I know he would be upset if I
watched it without him and vice versa.
So, I'm not going to watch it tonight.
I'm going to wait.
But yeah, we have been binging it and
we're almost done with season 2. But
it's about time travel
and it's just so good. It is such a good
show and it's like crazy just the webs
like it's this small town and there's
all these different families and
everybody is like interconnected somehow
and it just goes back and forth from all
of these different years and eras and
you're seeing like the same characters
but all different ages. It's a little
bit tricky to follow in the very
beginning, but then once you get
familiar with like who is who and who's
related to who. Um, oh my god, it's just
so good. And I'm I find myself at work
thinking about the show and I'm like
just all I want to do is come home and
watch more of it. But then at the same
time, I don't want to finish it super
fast because then I know once I'm done
with it, I'm gonna be really upset and
wish I had more. So, I also kind of want
to like take my time and stretch it out,
but oh god, it's just so good. So, if
you're looking for a new show to binge,
highly recommend Dark on Netflix. And
honestly, like having it be in German
and having to read the subtitles, it was
after like the first half of like
episode 1, I got so used to it that I
forgot. And like I watch it now and it
doesn't even occur to me that it's in a
different language. having to read the
captions,
it forces you to pay attention because
obviously you can't like scroll on your
phone or get distracted doing something
because then you're going to completely
miss everything and have no idea what's
going on. So
yeah, highly recommend
cuz since getting back from my trip, I
just haven't had a chance to unpack my
bags. I have so much laundry. Oh, that's
another thing. You know, let me sit. I
keep like my arm's getting so tired. I
keep switching hands with the camera.
Let me just put you down here. A couple
days before we left for our trip, my hot
water stopped working. And it was so
random because
he was over here and was helping me do a
whole bunch of stuff around the house.
We were like changing all of the filters
in my vents and um filled up the salt
rocks in the water softener, mowed the
grass, pulled weeds, cleaned out the
vent from my dryer cuz I have a ventless
dryer. So, it's like you have to take
the whole like bottom half out once a
month or so and like rinse it out and
deep clean it. We popped out all the
filters and like took apart the
dishwasher and like deep cleaned that
and just did a bunch of stuff. And then
we were like ran a clean cycle on the
dishwasher and then did like two loads
of dishes, did multiple loads of
laundry. Like we were just doing a whole
bunch of stuff and we had a lot of hot
water running and then later that night
it just was like there was no like water
pressure. It was just kind of like
trickling out on the hot water side. But
the cold water side was still coming out
strong, but it was like trickling out.
And I I don't know. I don't know how
these things work. So, I just thought
like, oh, we're just like we used so
much hot water these last couple hours.
It just needs time to like refill maybe
the water heater tank. I don't know.
Um, so I didn't think anything of it,
but then the next morning it was still
the same thing. And it was like
literally barely trickling out. And then
eventually it just stopped coming out
altogether. And I was like, "What the
hell?" So, I was googling and we tried
like troubleshooting a couple things and
it seemed to fix the problem maybe for
like a couple minutes, but then it just
it still wasn't working. And
long story short, I didn't have hot
water for a few days. So, I have a whole
lot of laundry piled up cuz I wasn't
able, you know, to wash it. Yeah. So, I
feel like from not having the hot water
and then being out of town,
everything is just like a mess and
things have just like piled up and
gotten backed up and it's driving me
crazy because I'm one of those people
that
I can't do mess and clutter in my home.
It stresses me out. It just makes me
feel like if I have a cluttered space
around me, my mind feels cluttered and I
just am dying to have a nice clean house
and I just want to feel like at peace
and just be able to like get cozy in a
clean space. It's crazy too like how
fast the mess piles up and I couldn't
imagine like I live alone and I feel
like the mess piles up so fast cuz I
like just did a deep clean not that long
ago and like mopped the floors and did
all that and everything was feeling like
spotless and perfect and now it's just
like
terrible again. But anyway, that's part
of adulthood I guess. you know, you're
just like constantly
cleaning. [laughter] But yeah, today I
want to
I'm not going to kid myself because I do
this all the time where I'm like I make
these huge to-do lists for myself and
then I think like, oh, I'll be able to
get this task done in 20 minutes and it
actually realistically takes like an
hour and a half. So, I have the day off
today. I'm working all day tomorrow, but
then I'm going to have the weekend off.
So, I'm going to try to get as much done
today as I can, but I'm not going to put
the pressure on myself of like every
single nook and cranny of this house
needs to be sparkling clean by the end
of the day. We're just going to get
started today and do what we can. But I
am excited because I got some new tables
and I want to start rearranging just a
little bit the living room. kind of like
continue the process of getting the
house feeling finished because I bought
this house in December and I've done a
lot since moving in here. Like I've done
things like swapped out ceiling fans and
light fixtures. I've painted
um I have curtains up in all the rooms.
I you know like for the most part you
walk in here and it feels you know it's
fully furnished and it feels finished
for the most part but there's still
things that I would like to do. So let
me show you
what I'm envisioning and what I want to
do. So the living room obviously is a
mess right now. So disregard that. But I
feel like it needs a little bit more
something to like make it feel truly
like homey and a little more cozy. So
like I have this bookshelf over here and
this dead plant. I finally there was
like one leaf that was still alive. So I
was like, "Oh, maybe it's salvageable."
No, it's all dead now. So I need to just
toss that. But I really want to fill
this up with plants and like just I
don't know some more like cute decor
things. I want more photos. When I was
visiting my parents a few months ago, we
were going through old photo albums and
I brought back with me a stack of
pictures from my childhood. And I want
to get more photo frames and just have
those pictures throughout the house. And
like even up here, I love this lamp, by
the way. I found it in HomeGoods months
ago. But like even up here, I put this
random vase here, but like it just feels
kind of incomplete. I don't I don't
know. So, what's in those boxes over
there? I got a narrow table that I'm
going to put along this wall here. I'm
going to take this little round table
and I'm going to put it over there. I
know a lot of people had suggested to me
a long time ago to put that table in
between those two chairs and I agree. I
think that is a good idea. I just kept
it there for now cuz like I sit on this
side of the couch a lot and I needed a
table to like put drinks and stuff down.
But yeah, I want to move that between
the two chairs. Like obviously I'll
scooch them over a little bit. And then
on the table, I just want to put plants
and some framed photos and things like
that. It's just I feel like it's a way
to like fill in this area a little bit
more and also like a good way to add
more decor and just make it feel a
little more cozy. And then I'm think I'm
going to take this basket that I have
extra throw blankets in. And I'm going
to move this
over here where this fake plant is. And
then I'm going to put this in the room
upstairs.
That's going to be a project for another
time. Maybe put the basket over here. So
then that way this will like clear out
this area. So then I can put something
else on the side of the TV. I thought
about mounting the TV, but because of
where the thermostat is on the wall,
I don't like block that. And I guess I
could like pull the TV out a little bit.
I don't know. We'll see. I also don't
know. Like I wouldn't be able to put it
up too much higher because of the way
like the stairs are right there. Um, but
it would be nice because it would like
clear up some space down here and then I
could put like more decor there. And
especially like during the different
seasons, I do like putting garland on
top of the TV stand. So, I probably will
end up mounting it, but obviously that's
not happening right now. And then in the
dining room, again, it's a mess, so
excuse that. This room has been like the
catch-all room since I moved into this
house. So, it's still uh kind of like
that. I'm really hoping once the weather
cools off cuz a lot of this stuff is
like outdoor backyard things
and once I can get the backyard fixed up
a little bit more,
all of this will be put away and
decluttered and I'll actually get to use
my dining room cuz I really love this
room. So, I have like my little bar
station over here with coffee. I
definitely want to put some kind of like
tall plant or maybe I could even put
that um faux olive tree in here in that
corner. I'll have to play around and see
how I feel about that. But I do think in
the future I need to find something that
I really like because that's one thing
that I've did in the past a lot in
apartments.
I would just find art and decor to fill
a space because I just wanted to like
get it done and have it be filled
because obviously like I knew I had
limited time living in each place. But
now that I'm in a house, I don't want to
like just waste money on things that I
don't love. So you and there's no rush.
So, I'm trying to wait until I find the
right piece and then
I will get it. So, I would like to put
something on that wall cuz it's a pretty
big wall and it does feel like pretty
empty right now. But then over here,
this wall is a big blank wall as well.
So, I got another narrow table that I'm
going to put over here to again put like
a bunch of plants and stuff on that. And
I think I'll just like there's so much
room back here. So, I'll just scooch the
table over a little bit. So, then that
way there's still like a nice um wide
walkway space over here because this
circles around to the front entrance
area. And I did go a week or so ago. I
had went to Walmart and I got a couple
plants. So I got this piece lily and I
got this monstera
and this poo. And then I have that other
pose over there. I think that's all I
have so far as far as plants go. But I
used to have a decent amount of indoor
plants. Um but then my last apartment
got terrible light. the lighting was so
so weak. So
over time and honestly I think too like
the last uh 6 months of me living there
I think like the energy and the vibes in
the apartment were just really bad and
negative.
And I also was like just kind of
neglecting them cuz I had like so many
personal life things going on. So one by
one they all died. But I get really good
natural light in this house and I just
want to fill it up with plants. But I'm
starting out with stuff that I know I've
had in the past that I know is easy to
keep alive and is also really easy for
me to propagate because plants can get
really expensive. And it always scares
me because you just never know.
Especially if it's a type of plant that
you don't have experience with. They can
die so easily. And it's like, cool, you
just spent all this money on these
plants that then end up dying after, you
know, a month or so. So, it's good to
have ones that are easy to keep alive.
Um, but then you can propagate them. And
so, you only have to buy like one or
two, but then you can make babies from
those plants and then, you know, just
keep growing your collection and have so
many more plants
um without having to buy them. And it's
just like really cool. It just feels
like a science experiment when I do
that. So, that's what I'm going to start
with first is putting together these
tables. They're not super big, so
hopefully they should be pretty quick
and easy to assemble. And um yeah, we'll
set those up.
Oh, and by the way, I was telling you
about the hot water situation. Yeah, the
plumber ended up coming
and I was nervous because I thought,
"Oh, I'm either like there's some part
to the water heater that's going to need
to be replaced or I'm going to have to
get a whole new water heater
potentially." It ended up being
something so stupid. My water heater is
up in my attic and it has this like
monitoring system that is supposed to
set off an alarm if it detects water is
like leaking into the bottom pan. And
um there's also like this box that's
connected to it on the wall. And like
when I got the inspection done on my
house, the person doing my inspection
was sort of telling me about like, oh
yeah, this monitoring system um you
know, it'll like make a loud beep if it
detects water. But I didn't realize that
it also is attached to a valve and it
either will detect the water and
automatically close the valve and beep
or there's also a button on the box that
you can press to manually close the
valve. The night that we were like being
productive and getting a bunch of stuff
done was the same night that the hot
water stopped coming out of the faucet.
We were up in the attic putting stuff
away and we must have bumped the box and
didn't realize and hit a button that
turned the valve like closed the valve
so that water wasn't running through.
But because it didn't detect water, it
was just manually turned off. It didn't
beep or make any kind of noise. We
didn't notice that, you know, we closed
the valve.
So that's all it was. It was literally a
matter of pressing a freaking button on
this box in my attic. just open and that
was it. Opened up the valve and that was
it. And I mean, knock on wood.
Um, it's been several days now cuz this
was on Monday and everything's been
working like normal. So, I think it l it
had to have just been that we we pressed
the button on accident and didn't
realize. I feel like every time
something happens like a house related
thing in the moment I get so stressed
out and I panic and then I have these
thoughts of like why did I do this? Why
I like I miss renting. I miss being able
to just put in a work order and have
someone come and fix it and replace it.
Like it's so scary all of the things
that can go wrong or need to be fixed.
And it can get so expensive and you know
things can happen that you don't
anticipate and it's so overwhelming at
times and I like I've had my moments
where I almost regret getting a house
but then like with each thing that
happens I just end up learning more and
all of these things that were once so
scary and overwhelming to me aren't
anymore because now I I know how they
work and I know how to like handle it
and fix it myself, you know. Again,
knock on wood
cuz you just never know.
But, um, yeah, so far things have been
okay and I have hot water again. All
right, let's put these tables together.

Heat. Heat.

Good morning. It's a couple days later.
It's Monday. Sorry I ended up cutting
that last clip kind of short. I'm going
to show you how the new tables look.
This weekend was so good. It was so
productive. Sorry I didn't vlog. Um, I
[sighs and gasps] ended up getting oo an
IUD put in, a copper IUD, and um,
it's I mean I I don't know. I feel okay
now. Just a little crampy, but it was
kind of rough that first day, not going
to lie. And then yesterday, I was
feeling like still crampy, but way
better. and I just had the itch to deep
clean. So, I did finally like all the
laundry that I had piled up. I put all
of that away. I deep cleaned my bedroom
and
the two bathrooms downstairs. Upstairs,
honestly, like never really gets used,
so I just focused on downstairs. So,
yeah, things are coming along and it's
feeling nice and clean and fresh in
here, which I love. I am currently
making my hyperfixation meal.
Let me know if you are like this too. I
don't know. I feel like I've heard that
it's can be ADHD related, which I've
never been diagnosed with that
technically, but it wouldn't surprise me
if I have it. Um, but I will get
obsessed with a certain meal, a certain
song, a certain drink, and it'll be all
that I want to consume. And I just like
will not get sick of it. And I will just
consume it over and over and over and
over and over every single day for a few
weeks to a few months. And right now,
one of my hyperfixations has been
bruseta, which I've always loved, but I
don't know. Lately, I um I made it one
day a couple weeks ago, and now it's
just like I crave it every single day.
[laughter] I've been having it almost
every single day. It's just so fresh.
So, I chopped up some tomatoes, garlic,
and fresh basil. We're going to add a
little salt,
black pepper,
some extra virgin
olive oil,
and just a little splash of balsamic
vinegar.
And just mix that up. Oh,
it just smells so good. And then I put
it in the center of a plate and I
toasted up a little sourdough bread
on the side. Oh my god, there's nothing
better than like some good flaky bread
that like has a little crunch on the
outside but then is still soft in the
center. So good. And that is my
breakfast. It was like the first thing I
was craving when I got up this morning.
I washed all of my runners last night
and I let them hang to dry, but then
I've just been putting them on like a
refresh cycle in the dryer just to like
fluff them up and get like the lint and
dog hair and stuff off of them. Um, so I
just need to vacuum and mop the floor
out here. But that's pretty much all I
need to do. I mean, the dining room is
still it's still going to be a work in
progress and a catch-all room for now.
And then I have one final load of
laundry that I need to do, but the
bedroom, sorry I didn't make the bed,
but the bedroom is all nice and clean.
Put away all my clothes. I organized
all of my jewelry because I had like
jewelry and perfumes and all of my
travel bags as I've gone on so many
trips over the last couple months and I
had all these little like pouches and
travel bags that were just filled with
random things like you know certain
makeup products, jewelry, perfumes and
it was just such a mess. So, I finally
unpacked all of that stuff, put
everything away, organized it. My closet
is all nice and organized. The bathroom
is nice and clean. This countertop, too,
just was literally covered. Like, I
could barely whenever I would go to
brush my teeth or anything, I was like,
you know, squished. And I went through
like my little um makeup carrier here
with my everyday makeup. I couldn't even
zip it closed cuz there was just so much
stuff. So I went through and took out
the stuff that I haven't actually been
using on a regular basis. And I put that
away with, you know, the rest of my
extra stuff upstairs. So now I can close
this. And this is just the stuff that I
use currently. Um, and yeah, I cleaned
the shower. It just feels feels so good.
But here is how this area is looking
with the little table between the two
chairs. I need to fluff these pillows
and fix them a little bit. Benny loves
to jump up here. I need to also like uh
lint roll these, take the dog hair off,
but he always loves to sit on that chair
and look out the window. Um, but yeah, I
really like how this area looks. And
then I put a plant back here.
And this is looking a little bit more
organized. I would definitely love to
get more plants and just propagate more
like I did with this one. Um I took a
leaf from this plant and just stuck it
in some water. Um so I would love to
just have like a whole bunch on this
bookshelf. And then I ended up actually
leaving this tree here because I put the
basket with the throw blankets and I
didn't like how that looked. It's a
little too big. It stuck out too much
and it just like I don't know. It looked
so blank and incomplete and kind of off.
So I think I'm just going to leave this
cuz I like the balance that it creates
with this wall. And then over here is my
one table. I decided to just put the
basket with the blankets on the side
there. And I feel like that fits well.
Eventually, I still want to get a floor
lamp back there in the corner. So,
that'll fill that space up more and also
like, you know, fill that awkward gap on
the wall. But I really love how the
table fits over there and the way it
looks under those picture frames. How
beautiful is this table? I love this one
so much. much. I mean, I like the other
one, too, but obviously it's much more
simple. And this one just I feel like
looks a little bit more luxe and
expensive. And then eventually, yeah, I
would like to maybe get a couple more
plants, some picture frames or something
or I'm not sure. It fits really well and
there's still plenty of space to walk
through over here. So, it is the perfect
size and it just fills up that wall
without being like too big and bulky.
Like, I really think it is just perfect.
And then the other thing too that I've
been thinking about for the hallway, I
had said when I first moved in that I
really want to get barn doors to cover
this laundry area, but then I saw a
photo of someone with like a similar
laundry closet situation. And they just
had curtains
up above, like these big long beautiful
velvety curtains. So, I thought that
otherwise that could maybe look cool and
add some texture and some color and also
be like way easier to install and
probably less expensive than the barn
doors. So, I don't know. Um, I have to
think about that a little bit more. You
guys let me know what you think as well.
Um, it would be kind of nice, too,
because I do like to put hangers up on
this bar.
And, you know, certain clothing items
that I don't want to put in the dryer, I
like to be able to hang them up there to
dry. And if I have curtains, it's like
easier to just push them out of the way.
So, I don't know. And then I was
thinking about also getting like some
artwork, maybe like big frames so that I
could also cover this breaker box and
maybe even put like I I can't remember
where I saw it. Maybe Pinterest, but I
saw a hallway with like sconces on the
wall. So that could be cool, too. Cuz I
just feel like this hallway is very
plain and bland. And I love the light
fixture that I added. Everything else
just feels so white and bland. And I
don't think I want to paint the walls
necessarily because I don't want it to
feel disconnected from everything else.
I thought I like maybe I could do a cool
wallpaper potentially,
but I'm not sure. Um, so yeah, let me
know if you have any ideas for the
hallway. So yeah, that's all of the
house updates. Sorry if this vlog felt
kind of random. It just feels good to be
like back in the swing again of
uploading. So hopefully from here I can
get back into my normal Monday uploading
schedule. Let me know what kind of stuff
you guys want to see in future vlogs.
And let me know if you have any
suggestions, you know, housewise
for decor and whatnot. Oh, another
thing, too. I really want to replace the
ceiling fan in my bedroom. The blinds
and the ceiling fan cuz that is like so
old and bulky and ugly and I want to put
something probably like the one I have
in the living room. That's going to be
it though for this vlog. Thank you guys
so much for watching. I really missed
you. I hope that you're doing well. I
hope you have an amazing week and I will
see you hopefully very soon. Bye.
