Video summary
The video documents the grand opening of a new sports performance facility called Hustle Sports Performance located in the city of Columbia. Greg Williams from the office of economic development welcomes attendees and introduces the speakers, highlighting the significance of this event for the local community. Mayor Daniel J. Rickenmann expresses his excitement about seeing the project come to life after hearing about it on a podcast, noting that the vision of building young athletes and character is truly coming to fruition. He emphasizes that while the facility offers advanced training, its true value lies in teaching athletes how to perform both on and off the field, predicting that the location will soon be so popular that expansion may become necessary.
Following the mayor, Pat DeMarco, one of the founders and a former Gamecock athlete, takes the stage to share his perspective alongside co-founders Grayson Greiner and Travis Torville. He extends gratitude to the city of Columbia for embracing the project and thanks various partners including GMK, Mar Hood, and Hood Construction for their contributions. DeMarco clarifies that Hustle is more than just a gym; it is a place designed for athletes to grow, families to connect, and the community to unite. He introduces the core philosophy behind the brand, stating that "Hustle" represents a mindset of pushing for more, embracing challenges, and refusing to settle for the status quo.
The facility itself is described as a state-of-the-art environment built on five specific principles: heart, unity, strength, toughness, and leadership. The space features extensive amenities such as 45 yards of turf, 5,000 square feet of gym space, batting cages, pitching tunnels, next-level equipment, and an incredible players lounge. However, the speakers stress that the physical infrastructure is secondary to the intangible outcomes achieved within these walls. The ultimate goal is to help young athletes become better competitors, better teammates, and ultimately better people by fostering relationships, building confidence, and learning valuable lessons when things get difficult.
In conclusion, the event celebrates not just the completion of a building but the realization of a shared vision to impact the next generation of athletes in Columbia. The speakers express deep excitement about the future impact they can make together with the city and its residents. By leaning into challenges and putting in the necessary work, the team believes that what happens at Hustle will prepare individuals for bigger things in life beyond sports. The opening marks the beginning of a new chapter where dedication, community support, and athletic development converge to create lasting change.

Good morning and welcome to yet another
grand opening here in the city of
Columbia at Hustle. My name is Greg
Williams and I work in the office of
economic development for the city of
Columbia and I'm here to welcome all of
you to this wonderful new facility and
introduce our list of speakers. First,
we're going to have our mayor, Mr.
Daniel J. Rickenmann, followed by one of
the owners here and former Gamecock, Mr.
Pat DeMarco. Thank you all for coming
out and I will step aside for the mayor.
>> You know, it's it's always a pleasure to
be at an opening like this, especially I
had these three guys on my podcast and
they were talking about what they were
building here and they walked through
every aspect of this building and to
walk in here today and see it for the
first time and really see that their
napkin dream is a reality is incredible
and that's what excites me about these
type of openings and of course, you
know, I'm
I'm a Gamecock at heart and you know, to
have two former Gamecock athletes here
making an investment here in our
community but thinking about the future,
you know, when they talked about
the idea behind Hustle, it's not just a
place to train, right? It's it's a place
to to build young athletes, build
character, teach them how to perform on
and off the field and I think that's the
difference here and that's what's
exciting. You know, I have a feeling
before long this place is going to be
busting at the seams and they're going
to be going, "We need to expand. We need
to expand. We need a second location."
And I think that will be the exciting
point. We know that their dream, their
thought process, but what they're
developing with these young athletes is
really going to make a difference. So,
with that, I'm excited to be here for
this this opening. I'm excited to see
this place
alive and well and and all the aspects
that they said they wanted to deliver,
but y'all really don't want to hear from
me. Let's hear from Pat as as one of the
team owners to talk about Hustle.
>> Thank you.
They're very well versed in these
speeches, so I'm going to bring out some
paper to help me out.
I'm Pastor DeMarco, one of the founders,
and on behalf of Grayson Greiner and
Travis Torville,
thank you all for being here.
First, thank you to the city of Columbia
for embracing Hustle and welcoming us
into this community.
We truly believe this is more than a
gym.
It's a place where athletes grow,
families connect, and the community
comes together.
We also want to recognize the people who
helped us make this vision a reality.
Thank you to GMK, who's here for helping
us bring this space to life, Mar Hood
and Hood Construction for the countless
hours and resources invested in this
building, and our staff for the hard
work and commitment, and especially our
families for the countless hours that
they've sacrificed to help us get here.
Hustle is more than just the name, it's
a mindset.
It's about pushing for more, embracing
challenges, and refusing to settle for
the status quo.
Hustle SB is built on five principles:
heart, unity, strength, toughness, and
leadership. Our goal is to help these
young athletes become better
competitors, better teammates, and
ultimately better people.
We've built a pretty solid special place
here to do that. 45 yd of turf,
5,000 sq ft of gym, batting cages,
pitching tunnels, next level equipment
and technology, and an incredible
players lounge.
But what matters most is what isn't in
the building, it's what happens here.
The work, the relationship, the
confidence, and the lesson lessons
learned when things get hard.
Because at Hustle, we lean in. We
embrace the challenge, we put in the
work, and we believe that what you do
here can prepare you for bigger things
in life.
We're incredibly excited about the
athletes who will walk through these
doors and the impact that we can make
together with the city of Columbia.
Thank you for believing Thank you for
believing in Hustle. Thank you for being
here, and welcome to HSB. Let's get to
work.
