How To Upload Lyrics For Upcoming Releases w/ Musixmatch Pro
Watch on YouTubeVideo summary
Many artists often struggle to provide lyrics during the critical initial days or even weeks following a release, yet this is no longer necessary with modern tools available. Fans are most likely to support and connect deeply with an artist when they feel close to them through shared experiences, which frequently happens via reading song lyrics that resonate personally. When listeners can read along while streaming on platforms like Spotify or share specific lines on social media during the early stages of a release, it strengthens their emotional bond with the music creator. Without accessible lyrics, potential fans might miss out on understanding the artist's message fully, leading to lost opportunities for converting casual listeners into dedicated supporters who purchase merchandise and attend concerts.
The solution lies in using Musixmatch Pro, which allows artists to upload and synchronize their lyrics before a song is officially released through distributors or digital service providers. This pre-release capability ensures that when fans share clips on Instagram Reels or search for songs online after seeing them go viral on short-form video platforms, the correct lyrics appear immediately rather than leading users down dead ends where they cannot find the content. The process involves entering release details such as UPC codes or Apple Music links, uploading cover art, and utilizing AI tools to automatically transcribe lyrics directly from audio files without storing sensitive music data for security reasons. Artists can also manually paste their own text if preferred, adjust formatting by removing unnecessary punctuation that might hinder readability on mobile apps, and review the synchronization before sending everything live to partner platforms.
Beyond basic availability, Musixmatch Pro offers a suite of promotional features designed to maximize an artist's reach across various digital ecosystems. Users can generate time-synced lyric videos optimized for social media reels or convert them into full-length YouTube content, create motion art album covers specifically formatted for Apple Music and Tidal to boost streams on those services, and even print lyrics directly onto merchandise with ease. The platform also includes an AI analysis tool that suggests potential themes and moods within the song while flagging any words that streaming platforms might restrict, plus it supports translation into up to 120 languages so international fans can learn new vocabulary through their favorite songs rather than relying on generic language learning apps. Pricing structures range from a free tier for single artists needing basic verification to annual plans starting at $29 for fast-track services and scaling up to comprehensive manager plans that allow teams to handle bulk uploads and collaborate efficiently.
To take full advantage of these capabilities, interested creators are encouraged to utilize promotional discount codes provided by the channel host to secure current best deals on their chosen subscription tier. Whether an artist is just starting out with a single track or managing a label with multiple releases requiring collaborative workflows, there exists a specific plan designed to meet those needs while ensuring lyrics appear instantly when fans search for them online. By completing these pre-release tasks ahead of the official launch date, musicians can guarantee that their biggest supporters have everything ready from day one to share and engage with new music effectively. Ultimately, having accurate and accessible lyrics available immediately upon release transforms how audiences discover and connect with an artist's work, turning casual listeners into lifelong fans who feel truly understood by the creative voice behind the melody.

As we all know, your release day is
often times when you're getting a big
burst of attention. And then the weeks
after, you'll also get a ton of
attention. Lots of this attention comes
from your most passionate fans, the ones
who want to go deeper with you, or even
worse, a new fan who, if they were able
to read the lyrics of your song, they'd
become a bigger fan, understand you
better, and want to go deeper with you,
buy tickets and merch, and become a
lifelong fan. But so many artists for so
long haven't had lyrics available for
the first days or even weeks of the
release, but that no longer has to be
the case. Let me explain. So, a study I
go back to all the time again and again
is that fans support the artist they
feel closest to. And I'm sure if you
think about it for a second, you could
consider what makes you feel closer to
an artist. It's often lyrics. Come on,
we all know that feeling. We hear a bar
from an artist and it makes you feel
like an artist just gets the vibe you
want to feel. With music being at its
core a mood-altering drug that makes you
feel the way you'd rather feel, they say
that line that makes you feel they get
you, and you're now tied to them. But
here's funny thing. As someone who loves
reading lyrics to songs on Spotify while
I listen along or sharing the bars I
love the most on Instagram in the early
days or even weeks of release, lyrics
are often not up online, and that can
bum me out since I can think they're
singing one thing and it's something
else entirely. And some of the reason
it's been like this for so long is until
recently, you couldn't add your lyrics
to your release till it was out. But
now, thanks to the sponsor of this
video, Music Smash Pro, you can get this
done while you're doing all the other
things you do to set up your release
beforehand. Like adding it to your
distributor, updating your publishing
info, scheduling social media, so that
your lyrics are up on day one and your
biggest fans sharing it on release day
on Instagram will have your sick bars up
on the screen when a fan shares it. And
the fans who are most engaged with your
music will have it ready to share from
right from the get-go when your song's
released. I can't tell you how important
having your lyrics up in case your song
starts going viral on short form videos
and people Google the lyrics and if it
doesn't come up, they're never going to
stream it. And Musixmatch Pro is the
number one way people can find lyrics
when they Google them. And this happens
all the times. I get these emergency
calls from consulting clients where
they're like, "No one's finding my song
even though I'm getting hundreds of
thousands of views on it on short form
videos." And this can help fix that so
everything is ready on day one. Cuz
think about it. Let's say somebody puts
up a video to your song and they don't
tag the sound that it's in and
somebody's just Googling the lyrics of
the song. If you don't have it up
through Musixmatch Pro, they're probably
not finding your song. And with
Musixmatch Pro for a low low price, you
get so many great tools to promote your
music. You can make so many of the
assets to promote your music. We
recently covered it in a recent video
and issue in my newsletter, Music
Marketing Trends. Their many features
are linked in the description of this
video to learn more about them. And you
can create amazing assets to promote
your music like Spotify canvases or
create lyric videos with already time
synced lyrics in short formats perfect
for release on reels and social media
that can even get turned into full
length videos for YouTube. I also put up
a video on how you can make Apple Music
and title album cover motion art with
them, which helps increase your streams
on their platforms. And as well, they
can even print your lyrics on merch
really easily. Not to mention that they
have the possibility of creating video
backgrounds with AI based on your song's
meaning or your album cover.
>> work to do before everything starts
happening. So, since I want to do some
pre-release work on this song, I'm going
to make sure I go over to the artist
that I want to set this up for. So,
that's this one, Tana Tristan. And as
you can see here, you have a button that
says add release. So, as you can see, a
published release or an upcoming
release. Published release is obviously
a song that's been published, aka out
already through your distributor and on
the DSPs. And an upcoming release is one
that's not out, which is what we want to
do today.
So, in order to do this, I need to
either have a Apple Music link, which
you can get from your distributor when
your distributor populates
a platform with your song, you get a
link from it, or the UPC code that your
distributor
gives you. So, since I have the UPC
code, I'm going to paste that in.
Then I'm going to click continue.
As you can see here,
it's going to ask me for my title, and I
have the cover art downloaded, so I'm
going to put that up. Going to put a
release date of Friday.
So, as you can see here,
uh you could also, if you don't have an
a UPC yet, you could add the pre-release
from scratch, and they'll make your
songs ISRC's when the release goes live
to distribute your lyrics. Okay, so
after that, we've entered the ISRC code.
So, once we have the songs for the
release into the system, we need to
obviously add lyrics to it.
So, I'm going to click on the song I
want to work on, and then using your AI
lyric transcribe tool, it will
automatically pick out the lyrics of the
song. You upload your song up to the
website, but note that there's no
worries about leaks since they don't
store the song. It's just for the
extraction, and then it's done and gone
off their servers. But keep in mind, you
can easily just paste your own lyrics in
if you don't want to go through any of
this. It's super super simple to paste
into their interface and sync it up
using their AI interface. As you can
see, after it extracts the lyrics,
there's even a button to remove end-line
punctuation since that doesn't make the
lyrics read well on the apps. But once
that's done, we review the lyrics and
then we review the sync and edit if
there's errors. And after you click
send, we'll see a check mark if your
lyrics are all set to be delivered to
the platforms. We can also make sure
that we have other parts of it done.
You can add songwriters and credits and
stuff like that so that they show up on
Spotify. They even have this interesting
analysis of it. It's only inside
Musixmatch where they tell you a
potential meaning. I know sometimes some
of you find it interesting what it the
AI generates as the meaning, the themes,
the mood. Yeah, it'll even flag if
there's words that the platform may
potentially not be happy with.
But once all that's done, we can hit
send. So one of the things also is once
you send it, obviously it takes a little
while to go live. You can see your
status in the dashboard.
So it's now been delivered to partners.
Now one of the coolest things too is a
lot of you end up having fans who speak
other languages. And when you have that,
you know that fans actually often use
lyrics to learn other languages and love
to see the lyrics translated since it's
way more fun way to learn your favorite
song rather than some AI owl nerd or
some other app like Quadrolingo or
whatever. They can enable the
translation of your lyrics and some
songs are in up to 120 languages that
you can find on Google and other search
engines that use Musixmatch as a source.
The streaming apps all have different
languages that are available. So
depending what they support, your lyrics
will also be there. I know a lot of you
are like, "Okay, Jesse. There's got to
be a catch. How much does this cost?"
Musixmatch Pro has a free plan for
single artists that just need the
basics. Now it's quite slow to get
verified on this plan since it can take
up to 30 days because they have to check
all the requests manually. And I should
note that tier does not have the
pre-release feature. Then it's $29 for
an entire year for those who need fast
track service, like those going viral,
who need to get their song to start
showing up in search ASAP, or who want
to use the AI sync or edit lyrics with
featured artists on their tracks. Their
grow plan, which has the pre-release
feature, is $96 a year and has that in
the plan, and you can create those lyric
videos I talked about before and remove
their watermark. And with the plus plan
for 216 a year, you get up to three
artists and access to get your lyrics on
YouTube and lyric videos with
translations. And for those of you who
run management companies or labels, they
have manager plans where you can
collaborate with your team and access
bulk features like bulk lyrics uploads
on demand. That's pretty sick, right? So
if you're interested in getting all
these amazing tools to promote your
music and taking what you do the next
level, head over to Musixmatch Pro and
include code JESSIE15 to support the
channel and get their current best deal
for my viewers. That's code JESSIE15.
So here's the thing. While you just
learn this, if you really want to grow
your fan base, you need to understand
how to make Apple Music and Tidal album
art motion with Musixmatch, which is on
this video that's on the screen right
now. So make sure you watch that next if
you really want to level up. Thanks for
watching.
