Video summary

If I were starting a sneaker Instagram page from zero followers in 2026, I would abandon the outdated strategy of posting random images and hoping for reciprocal follows, instead adopting a highly specific blueprint focused on niche selection and strategic positioning. The core argument is that "sneakers" is too broad an industry to succeed; you must define your unique angle so clearly that a visitor understands your value proposition within five seconds. This involves choosing a specific sub-niche such as sneaker deals under $150, Air Jordan history, or styling guides for big feet, and articulating exactly why someone should follow you. The speaker emphasizes building the page itself first, ensuring the handle is short and memorable, and deciding whether to use a personal brand with your own face or an anonymous brand featuring relevant imagery like Michael Jordan's, noting that both paths offer significant financial potential depending on execution. To grow an audience effectively, the strategy relies on a disciplined content schedule divided into three distinct buckets: discovery, authority, and personality content. Discovery posts are designed to stop the scroll with strong opinions, news, or controversy, such as lists of overrated Jordans or budget-friendly picks. Authority content establishes expertise through educational carousels on topics like how to legit check shoes, market analysis, and buying guides, which are also excellent for generating saves and shares. Crucially, personality content humanizes the creator by sharing behind-the-scenes moments, unboxings, mistakes, and personal journeys, transforming a simple sneaker page into a relatable personal brand that fosters deep audience loyalty. The recommended posting rhythm involves creating one Reel daily, focusing on strong hooks in the first few seconds to deliver immediate value, alongside three to four carousels per week and daily Stories used to engage directly with followers through polls and questions. Monetization is presented not as a distant goal but as an integral part of the strategy once attention has been secured, shifting the focus from chasing follower counts to converting views into revenue. The speaker outlines several viable income streams including affiliate marketing for sneaker brands, cleaning products, and accessories; User Generated Content (UGC) partnerships where creators are paid for organic-style videos even without a massive following; and the sale of digital products like reselling guides or collector checklists. Additionally, building a hyper-focused community allows for deeper engagement and further monetization opportunities. The overarching conclusion is that your existing knowledge about releases, history, and trends is valuable intellectual property that can be packaged into content to generate wealth, rather than feeling the need to learn an entirely new skill set from scratch. The video concludes with a direct challenge to viewers to stop waiting for perfect conditions like a flawless logo or expensive camera gear and to simply start creating immediately using what they already know. The speaker argues that while the first video may not be a viral hit, consistency over thirty days provides the data needed to identify which topics perform best, allowing creators to double down on successful formats. By studying analytics on views, shares, and saves after an initial burst of content, creators can refine their approach and scale what works. Ultimately, the message is that anyone with expertise in a niche field—whether it be sneakers, fitness, or cars—can leverage social media to turn their passion into a sustainable business, building assets and financial freedom rather than just collecting shoes.

If I had zero followers on Instagram and had to build a page from scratch in 2026, I would do things completely different. I wouldn't be posting random pictures of shoes. I wouldn't follow 5,000 people hoping that I get a follow back. And I definitely wouldn't be blaming the algorithm because my posts aren't getting views. I would be following a very specific strategy. And in today's video, I'm going to show you exactly what I would do in the first 30 days. And that consists of picking my niche, understanding when and where I'm going to post, how I'm going to get my views, and most importantly, how I'm going to turn that audience into money. So, if you ever wanted to build a sneaker page, make sure you screenshot this video or take notes because I'm going to give you guys the entire blueprint. Oh yeah, and if you didn't know by now, my name is DJ and this is the DNA show. On this channel, I love talking about sneakers, but most importantly, putting you guys in the best financial position to make extra money, retire early, and leverage your assets so that way they can pay for your sneaker collection along the way. So, if that's something you like, make sure you guys hit that subscribe button to follow for more. So, here's the first mistake. Most people say, "I want to start a sneaker page." But realistically, that's too broad. Why would somebody want to follow your sneaker page when there's thousands of pages online? You need a clear reason for me to follow you. And I think that comes down to picking one angle. For example, sneaker deals under $150, Air Jordan history, sneakers for big feet, women's sneaker styling, sneaker reselling, vintage sneakers, sneaker investing, sneaker news, affordable sneaker collections, sneaker reviews for normal people, how to style sneakers, behind the scenes on sneaker business and moneymaking. So, think about like this. Sneakers are the industry. Your angle is the brand. If somebody lands on your sneaker page, they should 100% understand what they're getting in the first 5 seconds. So, what I need you to do right now in your phone or on a piece of paper is this first action step. Write down in quotes, "People should follow my page because I blank." And then you fill in that blank. And if you can't answer that clearly, you haven't found an angle yet. But again, remember just a little bit ago, I gave you a ton of different ideas. Step number two, build the page before you build the audience. And what I'm going to do now is build a second page. Well, I guess not a second page, like a fifth page, but I'm going to build another page from scratch right now with you guys. and I had this page that I always wanted to do and I just never did it. So today I'm doing it. The Jordan 1991 club. I was born in '91. The Jordan 6 is my favorite. There's a ton of iconic moments, history, nostalgia, and so many things that I could share around that topic. So I feel like it only makes sense, right? All right, we created the page. Create a new Instagram account. This is account center. Allow follow. Allow to continue. Okay, agree Instagram terms. So, as you guys can see right here, I have the new official Instagram page, and we're going to build this out. And I feel like this might be the beginning of a new series right here, actually. So, now when you're building your Instagram page, you want to try to keep it short as possible, rememberable as possible, easy to spell, and make sure that it's relevant. Now, this is the next part when it comes to building a personal brand. As you guys know, everybody knows who I am now at this point. Well, not everybody, but a lot of people know who I am, right? So, it's easy for me to throw my face up there and do it, but I'm going to do this in a more anonymous version. And I'm going to just put MJ's face, which is also a very relevant face. Either way, you need to understand if your page is a personal brand that you're going to show your face on or a brand that you're not going to show your face on. And I'm telling you right now, there's a lot of money in building brands without showing your face, but there's also a lot more money in building brands with showing your face. So, don't be shy to take a clean headshot photo and make that as the main image for the profile. Next up is going to be your bio. This is very, very important. A lot of people mess this up. So, I have a three-step formula that I want you guys to make sure that you pay attention to. And again, write this down or take screenshots if you need to. First line needs to be who do you help? Second is what you help them do. And third is why they should trust you. So, for this example, it says helping sneaker heads build better collections, deals, reviews, sneaker money, and most importantly, new videos every single day. So, don't be in the bio writing your life story or putting too many unnecessary words. Get straight to the point and make sure people can understand what this page is about in 3 to 5 seconds. So, if I started from zero, I wouldn't wake up every morning wondering what I should post or when I should post and thinking about like, oh, maybe I'll do something today. I would have three content buckets and aggressively be going after them. Bucket number one is going to be discovery content. Number two is going to be authority content and number three is going to be personality content. So, when it comes to discovery content, this is going to be something that gets people to stop scrolling. Something that just randomly comes across their feed and they're like, "Who is this person? I don't know or I like this post. I'm interested in this." So, for example, you have five Air Jordans nobody's talking about right now. Don't pay resale for these yet. Three sneakers I'd buy before price goes up, or the most overrated Jordans in 2026. This type of content needs to have a strong opinion and create curiosity, news, or a little bit of controversy. Make people make people pick a side a little bit. And most importantly, utility, something that somebody can save or share to another friend. Bucket number two is authority content. This is the part of the page where people think, "Oh, this person actually knows what they're talking about." for example, how to legit check a pair of shoes, the sneaker history, buying guides, collector advice, reselling lessons, market analysis, or detailed reviews. And again, you do not need to know everything. You just need to consistently teach what you're good at. Bucket number three, personal content. This is the biggest part that a lot of people forget. Information, it might get somebody to watch, but your personality, that's what's going to make them fall in love with what you have to tell them and ultimately make them hit that follow button. For example, show your sneaker collection, sneaker hunting, unboxing, stories, mistakes that you've made, opinions, behind the scenes, your journey. This is where you get into the point where you say, "I don't want people to follow me because they like Jordans or Nikes or sneakers. I want them to follow me because they want to hear what I have to say about these Jordans, Nikes, or sneakers." And that's the difference between a sneaker page and a personal brand. So, here's my exact 30-day positioning strategy. I would highly prioritize creating one reel every single day for the next 30 days. And with that, my target would be 20 to 45 seconds for most videos, understanding that the first second matters more than the fancy cameras. And do not start the videos with, "What's up, guys? Welcome back. I'm so and so." No, get right into it. Start with do not buy these Jordans yet, or Nike has a problem nobody's talking about. You need to get into the value immediately. So, we're going to post a reel every single day, and we're going to post a carousel three to four times a week. So, this could be examples like five sneakers under 150 bucks, most common mistakes sneaker heads make, the beginner's guide to Air Jordan 1's or in my case, Air Jordan 6's. And carousels are perfect for educational content, good calls to action to get people to follow, and most importantly, repost and shares to friends. And nine times out of 10, I know you guys have done this, too. You've seen something that's valuable and you bookmark it for later. Even though you may or may not actually go back and look at it, you still end up actually clicking that button and adding it to your bookmarks. You want to create content that does that for other people to bookmark. So, we have one reel a day, three to four carousels a week, and stories every single day. Even if you only have 20 followers, or literally starting from zero, you need to post every single day on your story. Show your life, ask questions, share opinions, do polls, tell people to ask you questions, reply to those questions on the stories. You know that feeling when you find a good rapper or a good artist and you're like, "Damn, I remember their OG days. I was there from the beginning." you want to fall into that same category as a new or a beginning creator and allow people to fall in love with you from the beginning and ride through that entire journey with you. And stories is one of the most intimate ways to go about doing so. Now, the biggest part a lot of people are going to be struggling with is posting a real every single day. Again, it's not that complicated, but for some reason, people have this mental block, but I'm going to tell you why it's important to post a real for 30 days in a row. Here's where most people quit. They post a video, they get 217 views. They post another video, they get 496 views. And then they post another video and they get 92 views. And then they say, "Instagram doesn't work." No, no, no, no. You haven't even posted enough to get the proper data. It shouldn't be about the followers or the views. My first goal would be to getting 30 videos out. After 30 videos, this is what I would look at. Which got the most views, which got the most shares, which got the most saves, which generated followers, which hook worked, and which topics consistently performed the best. And then I'd make more of what's working. Your audience will literally tell you what they want. You just have to pay attention. And this is what I'm talking about. If you have a video that blows up or is an outlier that performs better than others, don't stop that and move on to something else. Keep creating on that topic. So, let's say you have a video that's five sneakers that's $100 that look expensive, right? And that video pops off. It gets 200,000 views. I would immediately follow that up or as soon as possible with another video like five more sneakers under $100, best Nike sneakers under $100, best Jordans under $150, 10 sneakers that look expensive but aren't. Creators make this way more complicated than it needs to be. When you find something that's working, just keep working it. Now, this is the part that everybody wants to know. How am I going to actually turn my page into money? This is where things start to get interesting because followers honestly isn't the goal. Attention is the true asset. Once I have an audience build, I'm looking at multiple ways on how to monetize this. Prime example, affiliate marketing. You're already talking about the sneakers. Why not get paid for somebody to buy the shoe that you're already recommending? Or everybody's favorite brand deals. You got sneaker brands, clothing brands, cleaning brands, accessories, apps, retailers. There's a ton of different ways to go about that as well. When it comes to brand deals and partnerships, and this is the one that's a big sleeper that a lot of people don't take advantage of, UGC, which means userenerated content. Most people don't realize you don't necessarily need a big following for this. You just need to create the right content for the right brand. And if they like it, they'll pay you for it. You got to remember, most of these brands want content that looks organic as possible and naturally integrated into people's lives. So when you can show and display that, they will literally pay you for the videos that you've already created from the past. Next up, we got digital products. So sneaker guides, reselling resources, collector checklist, educational product. There's a ton of different ways that you can go about that as well. Whether it's lead magnets, building a funnel, or just selling that exact item on the internet as a digital product. Another great way to monetize is building a community that's hyperfocused on that topic that's also super engaging and follows everything that you love to do. This is where they can connect with you, other members that have like-minded mindsets and also go deeper into that topic that they want to learn about. And this is the difference between people creating content on the internet and actually having fun with it and then also doing all that and putting the business mindset into it. Once you understand how to turn attention into customers and doing that for Brandos or for yourself, trust me when I tell you this, the possibilities become way bigger than just a pair of sneakers. And this is something that I need sneaker heads to understand. Your knowledge is value. Think about how much random information you already have in your head, right? You know, the release date, the time, the schedule, the drop, the colorways, the history, the knowledge, the nostalgia, everything that goes along with the sneaker release or whatever it is that topic is. You're pretty knowledgeable in that field. And you might look at that as a hobby, but you have to remember every single day somebody's getting started, they're looking on Google, YouTube, searching ChatGBT, you name it, wherever they're going to find information. And typically, when they find that information, it directs them to a video on Instagram reals, Tik Tok, YouTube, whatever it may be. This is truly an opportunity that a lot of people do not take advantage of. And this is what helps people step away from, oh, I need to create a new side hustle. I got to do this new thing and go learn about this topic that I don't know about. When it's like, you're already a master in this other topic. Why don't you just already monetize something that you're good at? And that's exactly one of the biggest reasons why I built the profit playbook because sneakers, that was my entry point, right? I made a ton of money flipping and reselling and everything, but once I realized the social media route and understanding how to monetize and how to turn views into dollars and really changing that and turning it into real wealth, that changed my entire outlook when it comes to social media. And I know some of you guys right now that's watching this video, you have something that you're good at. Maybe it's sneakers. Maybe it's fitness, fashion, cars, food, lifestyle, whatever it may be. I guarantee you right now, the problem isn't what you don't know. Your biggest problem is taking something that you do know and understanding how to turn it into content that then makes you more money. So, if you want to learn how I do it, scan the QR code on the screen or click on the link down below. And if not, here's the challenge that I have for you guys today. Start that Instagram page. Again, make sure you guys hit that follow button. And most importantly for this challenge that I have for you. Start with what you know.
