Video summary
The video documents a driver's ambitious attempt to earn $400 in a single day while driving for Uber Eats in Townsville, Australia, primarily to cover the cost of his daughters' gymnastics lessons. Starting at 11:00 AM, the driver tackles two specific time-bound quests that offer significant bonuses for completing a set number of deliveries within three-hour windows. Throughout the morning shift, he navigates various challenges, including picking up heavy pet store items and managing tight deadlines to meet quest requirements. He emphasizes that while the job can be stressful when balancing personal appointments with delivery schedules, successfully completing these tasks provides a sense of accomplishment and proves that the gig economy can be optimized like a strategic game where drivers must work the system to their advantage.
As the day progresses into the afternoon, the driver faces slower periods typical of the mid-afternoon lull but manages to maintain momentum by accepting orders that offer better pay or are closer to his location. A notable highlight occurs when he receives an unexpected $29 tip from a customer, which significantly boosts his earnings and morale despite having no direct interaction with that specific client. He continues to balance the need to accept lower-paying "pack and deliver" jobs against waiting for higher-value orders, eventually completing twelve deliveries during the second quest window. By late evening, after logging over nine and a half hours of work covering nearly 200 kilometers, he successfully clears both quests and reaches his financial goal, finishing with gross earnings of $407.99.
Upon reviewing the final numbers at home, the driver calculates his net profit by subtracting fuel costs from his total earnings, revealing a net income of approximately $360 for roughly ten hours of work. This translates to an effective hourly rate of around $36 when expenses are factored in, which he considers a solid return compared to traditional employment. He concludes that while the income is not guaranteed every day and depends heavily on location, timing, and available quests, it is entirely possible to earn decent money through Uber Eats if one approaches the job with optimism and strategic planning. Ultimately, he expresses satisfaction with the experience, noting that the flexibility to listen to podcasts and drive at his own pace made the work enjoyable, even acknowledging that this side gig is not meant to be a permanent solution but rather a viable option for those with spare time.

What's up, guys?
How we doing? How are we doing? Welcome
back. Welcome back to another [laughter]
video.
Another Uber Eats video. Today's going
to be another big one, actually.
Um I'm looking forward to it. I'm
looking looking forward to the money at
the end of the day.
But I'm looking forward to making this
video because I've got two quests.
Two quests on offer today, and we're
going to achieve both of them.
If it's the last thing I do.
So, they've been pretty generous. Um
today from 11:00 till 12:00 till 2:00
during a 3-hour window, we have an
opportunity to earn just over $50 extra
with nine completed deliveries. So, I
think the first three is an extra 15,
then 16, then 17 from memory, or I think
it's 15, then 17, then 18.
Um but we'll run through that. As well
as that, we've got a quest from 4:30 to
9:30 tonight
offering an extra 90-something dollars
for 12 completed deliveries. So, 11:00
till 2:00,
4:30 till 9:30, we will be on the clock.
We will be doing our best to complete
uh all 21 of those deliveries during
those time frames to get the extra
money. The extra 100
140, 150 bucks. And I've just put my
girls in to a uh
school holiday gymnastics program
um for 2 days. And uh that cost me uh
$160. So,
so if I can mow down both of these
quests today, that will go
most of the way towards paying for that.
So, um it's a game. Uber Eats is a big
game. It's a big video game, you know?
You're just constantly trying to work
the system,
um get lucky on certain orders, and at
the end of the day
uh
earn money. But, it's it's it's fun.
When you're feeling good, when you're in
a good mood, when you're optimistic,
it's fun. When you're doing it because
you really have to, and you know, you're
scraping the barrel and and and
having to
accept
bad offers,
um then it's not so fun, but it all
works itself out in the wash, you could
say.
So, I'm going to get up soon. It's
10:30. I'm going to have a coffee. I'm
going to get my hydration sorted.
Uh I'm going to grab my Uber bag and my
DoorDash bag, put them in the boot.
So, I've got coffee, water, accessories,
and uh my phone's fully charged. That's
a bonus.
I don't have to continually plug it in
every time I
get in and out of the car. And um it's a
nice day.
It's always a nice day here in
Townsville. It's nice to look at. Very
nice to look at.
Not so nice to be out in.
But, we are coming into winter, and um
I'll probably continue doing this
this job
as a a side gig during winter.
And those months will be a lot more
enjoyable just because I don't have to
have a sun hat on all the time.
Um I don't have to continually hydrate
because I'm losing
you know, I'm sweating all the time.
Yeah, anyways, that is my intro clip for
today. I will see you guys in the car at
about 10:59,
and we will log in.
And um
and begin.
So, I'm thinking, will today's video be
how fast how fast can I make
$400
delivering Uber Eats?
How fast can I make $400? And on a good
day
that would be 10 hours. So, if we start
at 11:00
and we finish at 9:00 and we've achieved
$400
that'll be a good day.
So, there's nothing left to do but to do
it and I'll see you there.
All right, guys. It is 11:16. I logged
in at 11:00. I
>> [clears throat]
>> declined the first order that came
through at about 2:00 past.
>> My range drive.
>> And then unfortunately, I had to wait
for about another 5 minutes for
something else to come through, but it
was a double order.
I'm picking up some Mexican. I'm picking
up some sushi. And then I was handed a
third order on top of that going to a
similar location.
>> Right. Then pick up.
>> Um and I will be heading to Petbarn, the
big pet store. So,
between those three orders we will um
earn car. I think around $23 base pay
plus the first tier
of the quest will be complete just like
that. So, 45 minutes in and we may have
$40 in the account. So, I'll keep you
posted. I'll let you know when I've got
all three orders. And uh
we're off. All right. All right, guys.
We are rolling. We are indeed rolling.
It is 11:35.
It's 11:35. We've got all three orders
uh with us. The first of which is going
to clear.
And it is 5.6 km away. Uh this is what
we're looking like. Now, some orders I
will make sure to put into either my
massive ugly Uber bag or my um my
DoorDash bag. Basically, a a thermal
a thermal bag to to keep the food either
hot or cold. Um neither of these orders
are
hot or cold. They're room temperature,
so I'm putting them on my seat. Um and
we have the
pet store order in the boot. Two massive
bags of kitty litter and some cat food.
And um that's what you'll find, you
know, from a a pet store, you will most
likely pick up large, heavy items that
the
customer just cannot be bothered picking
up themselves. And I'm okay with that.
As long as I've got a boot that's big
enough to fit these orders in,
which is an essential, um then
we're good. So, 11:35, let's get going.
Time is money,
and money we shall make.
One down,
two to go.
11:45.
All right, guys, that's uh two down, one
to go.
It's 11:55, and we should arrive there
in about 3 minutes.
1 hour down. I haven't even felt like
I've done anything. Have you ever turned
up to work, gotten through the first
hour, and thought, "Geez,
where did that go?"
Well, that's how I'm feeling today.
Uh this this has admittedly taken me
basically as far away from where I want
to be as you can possibly get,
but it is what it is.
We have a lift-off. We have indeed
reached three trips, which means we've
got our $18 bonus, not 15.
Um as well as our three base
pays for the three orders, we have
eclipsed
um $40.
And now we move on to the next three
trips and the second hour of the shift.
So,
I took uh a a a a 19-minute, 9.5-km
order
paying $8.50,
which is going to sandwich shifts or
sandwich sandwich hut sandwich makers.
I'm not quite sure. Um I'll find it. I
don't think I've ever been there before.
So, this this will be this will be
interesting.
And uh yeah, that's it. That's it for
me, guys. I'll check in with you once
we've reached $100.
It's 12:04. We're on our fourth order.
Anyone out there who wants to give this
a crack, do it. It's easy.
Certain places, certain times, certain
days are going to create certain
differences in earnings and
that's just the nature of the beast.
But, get out there, man. If you've got
some spare time, if you've got a car, if
you've got a license,
give it a go.
I'll see you at $100.
I know. I know. I know. I said I'd come
back to you when I'd reached $100. Well,
I haven't yet.
But, I do have a a cool sort of an
order. Look at that.
A big box. My sixth order of the day is
from none other than EB Games.
And it's a package, as you can see. So,
no food,
no spillages, no smells, no nothing
involved, which is an order I will
almost always take.
And it's a bit of, you know, it just
changes things up a bit. You go into
into the shopping mall or
yeah, in this case into the shopping
mall. Um you find the store. It's It's a
fun store.
You know, I think if I was ever going to
work retail, I'd want to work in some
sort of like collectibles
or gaming store. I think that. Cuz it's
it's just fun. It's fun, man. The
customers come in for a reason.
They come in to have fun. They come in
to connect with their childhood. They
come in to spend their pocket money. I
mean, it's it's fun. I love I love EB
Games. It's a fantastic store. And in
this case, um we have, I believe,
a Stitch
plushy toy
and some kind of cookie jar. So,
>> [sighs]
>> At the roundabout onto Kern Brothers
Drive. who they are for and where they
are going to go in the house, your guess
is as good as mine.
Um let me just check. Is this a This is
a leave at door delivery, so I'm not
even going to be able to ask, nor should
I. The only reason why I know what's in
the box is because I was nosy and I read
the packing slip. So, anyways, guys, um
sixth order of the day, 12:53, we're on
track to complete nine trips by 2:00.
And by that point, hopefully,
you know, $40 an hour being the the sort
of benchmark, we will be at something
like 120 bucks.
But, I will see you when we get there.
All right, guys, I got myself into a bit
of a predicament here. I
I have an appointment at 2:00. I had
about 40 minutes to complete two
deliveries
and get myself to this appointment by
2:00 to achieve
the third tier of the quest
and earn an extra $22.
And that's $22 I wanted and I was going
to get come hell or high water. And so,
uh I was able to get a a double packing
pack and pay order.
Um I've dropped the first one off. I've
got the second one in the boot. I'm 4
minutes away. It's 1:54.
apartment building. I've got to make my
way in, find the door,
deliver the goods, luckily it's only one
bag, get back to the car,
punch in the um the address for my
appointment, and then get there by 2:00.
This is
This This is This is basically as
stressful as the job gets. And it's only
because I've brought my own life admin,
my own life appointments, life stress
into the job. If it wasn't for this
appointment that I had to get to by
2:00, as well as trying to complete a
quest, then
there would be none of this stress, but
it has been stressful.
But, it's times like these, man, when
they work out, when you do finish your
deliveries, when you do get that quest
that you wanted, when you do make it to
your appointment, and when you do not
have a boss telling you what to do.
These are the moments. These are the
moments that um I'm not going to say
it's it's skill-based, but there is
there's certainly a level of time
management for one, and staying cool,
calm, and collected under pressure,
uh number two,
to create a successful
and lifestyle-friendly
gig
out of Uber Eats. All right, guys, I
will see you after my appointment.
That's going to happen. I might have to
give them a quick call, but uh we have
indeed finished nine deliveries in 3
hours.
It's 4 minutes to 2:00.
And
that's a good start. Sweet Street. I
knew I'll tell you what. I tell I'll
tell you what. I got to rate my
performance here. I really do. That
order was delivered
at 1:59,
and we are 3 minutes away from my
appointment.
>> Street, then turn left onto Bowen Road.
>> We are 3 minutes away currently. It is
2:00,
and I will get there without even having
to make a phone call. I didn't even
include the best part. The best part is
I was initially going to the supermarket
with one order to pack and pay.
Um that was going to bring me over this
side of town, but it wasn't going to get
me the quest. Then I was thrown two
extra orders to pack and deliver in the
same store. I only needed I needed two
for the quest, so now I had three. There
was no way I was going to get all three
done by 2:00 and make this appointment.
Two of them, well, one of them was
taking me, like I said, 3 minutes away,
so I had to pick and choose between the
three orders which two I believed were
not only going to be shopped quicker,
but bring me closer to my appointment by
2:00. I made the right choice. It's all
a game, man. It is a It is a game. It is
a algorithm. It is a video game that you
just turn up and play
each and every day. What a time to be
alive as an Uber Eats driver. I'll tell
you what. Tell you what, it's times like
these. All right, guys. And just like
that, we are back back online. It's
10:00 past 2:00.
Let's have a look where we're at at the
moment. So, um that is actually the the
week-long quest.
Uh 33 trips through of 65. So, anything
I do today is working towards that in
the background. But, we did achieve the
three um levels of quest. Hopefully, I
can see that. Go to earnings for today.
We're sitting at $132.71
from 3 hours, 3 hours 1 minute online.
Uh nine trips. $72.71 base fare.
And $60
worth of promotion. So, there you go.
That's making Uber work for you, not the
other way around. Either way,
132 bucks. We're on the road to 400.
It's 11:00 past 2:00. And we're going
back online.
So, I'm going to sit here with the
camera. $132.71.
3 hours and 1 minute. And now that the
quest is finished, hopefully,
there will be more orders to share
around. Less drivers, more orders.
That's what we want. We want to decline,
decline, decline
until something worthwhile pops up. But,
of course, to decline,
you need something not worthwhile to pop
up.
Um the great jewel of India. That's new.
That'll be taking me all the way into
the city.
Do I do it? $8, 6.9 K's. Nah, we can do
better than that. And instantly
10 seconds, 20 seconds after declining
an order, I feel as if I've made a
mistake.
But sometimes you just got to back
yourself. All right, and we're off.
We're off to Mackie Mackie D's, Mackers,
McDonald's.
Whatever you call it in your corner of
the world,
that is where we are going. And for
our efforts, we shall be paid
$9.
Actually, um yeah, this is downtown
Townsville CBD for anyone wondering.
Um I don't necessarily come to the city
often.
>> Turn right, then turn right.
But when I do,
when I do, I don't mind a little trip
to McDonald's.
Yeah, it's been a while.
Townsville CBD McDonald's. Let's go and
check it out. graduate. I wanted out of
there. I know that's right. Cheers,
Dave.
Yep, as always, listening to Dave
Ramsey. I got absolutely stitched up
there. Absolutely.
Number one,
there was a random two hash browns
thrown into the order
at 2:00 in the afternoon. I'm pretty
sure I had to wait
for them to cook two hash browns from
scratch.
That's what it felt like. Number one,
the guy who initially saw me,
I don't know if he forgot, I don't know
what he did. He did absolutely nothing.
Number two, I had to wait for two hash
browns once someone else came and saw me
and got my order number and what have
you. So, I spent at least 10 minutes
standing inside
to pick up a $9 order.
And now it's another 6 minutes for me to
drop it off. This is going to be
a half an hour
experience. Maybe 26, 27 minutes. I'll
call it 28 minutes. 28 minutes for $9.
It's times like these
where base fear is all that's on offer,
does make you question what the hell
you're doing with your life. But anyway,
we move.
All right, guys. The head is on. It is
way too sunny outside for my liking, but
it is what it is. Um we've been taking
the low-hanging fruit. It's been slim
pickings ever since I
finished with my appointment, sadly.
Um but you you do get that between 2:00,
3:30 to between 2:00 and 4:00 every
afternoon is is pretty slow.
Um similarly, between 9:00 and 11:00
most mornings is pretty slow.
So, obviously, you've got your breakfast
rush,
your uh your lunch rush, your dinner
rush, and then
your munchies rush at midnight.
The midnight munchies. We've all been
there. Uh some
more often than others.
But um I do have a double order. It's
taking me to Noodle Box
followed by Burrito Bar.
Um they are across the road from one
another, so that's handy.
And it's going to
And it's going to pay $14 for
about
7 km, I think. 14 bucks for 7 K's. It's
going to take 25 to 30 minutes.
But it's two more orders. It's 3:50
currently.
The next quest begins at 4:30.
So, I shall see you then.
All right, my friends.
We have both orders on board.
Riding in the passenger seat. I'll tell
you what, as an Uber Eats driver, there
is no better feeling than when whatever
you are there to pick up is ready as
soon as you get there. Because the hard
part, if there is a hard part, is
picking things up. Once it's in your
car, once you've got the goods, it's all
about just dropping it off. Drive to
where you need to go and hand over the
goods or leave it at the door, take a
photo, and you're done.
So, regardless of whether the food or
the package or anything is is ready or
not, once you've got it with you,
>> and take the second exit onto
Hinchinbrook Drive. once you've got it
with you, that is when you can relax.
That is when you can enjoy yourself.
That is when you can put your podcast
back on and know that the work is done.
All you've got to do is follow the GPS
and drop this thing off. Right now, I
may only be getting $14 for two
deliveries, but both were ready. I've
got them both in the car.
>> third exit onto Fern Brothers
Drive. And now we're just cruising.
Do I do it? Do I make the fateful
mistake I have made so many times before
and accept a Woolworths offer? Yes, I'm
going to.
And that's the truth. $10.
Hinchinbrook Drive. $10.09
for less than 5 km.
I'm on board with that. I'm just not on
board with where I'm going to pick it up
from. But, I've got 21 minutes until I
reach 4:30.
And from that point, we put the foot
down.
And we try and reach $400 as quick as as
as quickly as humanly possible. So, I'm
going to take this. I'm going to hope
for the best when we get to Woolworths,
but um
all of that and more will be revealed.
off off on the right.
>> It's all a game. You never know what
you're going to get. One thing we do
have on our side with this particular
trip
is that
it is going to take us 8 minutes to get
there. It's going to take us 8 minutes.
That's 8 more minutes they have to pack
the order. As well as that, it is
>> Continue straight through the roundabout
onto Golf Links Drive.
>> between one to five shopping bags.
So,
uh whether that's between one to five
bags or one to five crates, the
decision I've made still remains the
same. From one to five is the lowest
amount you're going to get unless it's
literally one bag in which case they
will itemize everything. But in this
case one to five bags eight minutes to
get there. That'll take us to 4:30.
If it's not ready, I'm still going to
wait for it.
I've decided that decision.
That decision is it's it's helpful to
make that that kind of decision before
even walking in there, right? If it's
not ready, that's okay. I will wait.
And wait and wait and wait and hope that
we can complete this just before 4:30 so
then we can
like I said before put our foot down and
really make some money.
Right guys, it's 4:32. That means we've
just ticked over onto
our afternoon quest 4:30 to 9:30. We've
got an opportunity
with 12 completed trips to earn an extra
$93
and I will do my absolute very best to
do that. I've realized I've got hardly
any battery left. So for anyone playing
along at home, money wise we are sitting
at $224.48.
I'm hoping to get to 400.
That is the goal.
We're going online and
hoping to complete 12 trips by
I'd I'd say 8:30. If I can get home by
9:00 tonight with $400 in the bank,
that will be good.
You could say. If
this evening goes anything like most
other evenings where there are quests
available for all drivers around
Townsville,
the orders
you know, they may not be the best, but
of course with the premium promotion on
offer,
they will make a hell of a lot more
sense. Now we've got $11.37
for 11.2 km.
>> [clears throat]
>> I'm just around the corner from this
one.
So, I jeez, I want to deny it. I'm going
to deny it. I have faith. I have faith
that something better is going to come
through. So, I'm just going to pull over
once again
and just wait.
Wait with baited breath
and see what see what happens here. Now,
it's these 10 to 15 seconds where you've
just declined something.
You sit on the side of the road and
think, "I should have done that."
Okay, we've got a pack and deliver seven
items, $14. I'm not I just don't want to
go back into Coles, to be honest. I've
been in there like five times today.
No, not for me. All right, guys. I'm
just I'm still sitting here waiting for
an order. I This is This is not This is
not normal.
This is
over three times more than any tip I
have ever received in my entire life. I
just got I just checked my messages
I got given a $29.05
tip.
What?
Who is that from?
Did they make a mistake?
Coles.
Oh, look at that. 29 bucks. What?
That is unbelievable. And we have
unfortunately the the the customer's
details are gone.
We have an opportunity to send thanks
for the tip, which I will do. 29 bucks.
No way. And that
is where
Jeez, okay. So, total breakdown today so
far, $224.48,
as I said before. 135.43
base fare, 60 bucks promotion, $29.05
tip.
That has to be a mistake. And if it is,
I mean, sorry about it, but that's going
in my pocket. I didn't even say hello to
this customer. Literally dropped it at
the door.
And that was it. 29 bucks. Jeez, that
gives you a bit of a bit of a pep in
your step. Tell you what. Sad thing is,
we're still sitting on the side of the
road and it's 4:38. So, maybe I should
have taken that first order. Come on,
man.
Time is money.
All right, I'm going back to Coles.
8:21, two items, 3.8 km.
I mean, it's 4:43. We've got to get
something underway.
Okay, here it is. 10:05. We have our
next order. We are off to Coles once
again. Unfortunately, that's all that's
coming through.
And it's a Pack and Pay.
So, um
what have we got?
I think it's only Yeah, three items.
Uh
some Twiggy sticks, some milk, and two
bottles of juice.
Let's do it.
All right, guys.
5:27.
And I'm going to take it. I'm going to
do it. I'm going to do it.
$5.21
for just under 5 km.
We're going back to Noodle Box, and
that'll be our first tier of the
afternoon's quest complete.
We're on here. It's 5:43. Off to
McDonald's once again. 9:36
for 9.5 km.
There's pre-crime type of thing. I I
have to
>> what you got to do, don't you?
All right, my friends. I got to admit,
uh
here it Jeez, I thought it was slim
pickings before.
Certainly is now. It's a quarter past
six. I'm hungry. I haven't eaten
anything yet today.
So, I want to get home and eat
something. But, I
I just Look, there's eight There's
There's There's eight more trips to to
to go.
Eight trips. Can we get it done by 9:00?
I'm on gods of the Uber Eats world, send
me
Uh
pack and delivers.
Pack and deliver I I Look, at this stage
I don't want to pack and deliver.
I am going to opt out of that and hope
that something somewhere See, I'm all
the way over the
sort of south. I'm I'm on the southwest
side of the city, but there is There's a
lot of
>> [snorts]
>> or there's a lot of houses up here.
There's also houses up this way that I
can get orders from. I mean, sometimes
it sends me all the way down the bottom
along the highway.
I said no pack and delivers. So, I don't
know.
I like this area because I know it. Like
I I've pretty much I mean, I've probably
been to every single restaurant
around this area.
Um so, I'm going to stay here. I'm going
to
Yeah.
We'll just We'll see what happens. All
right, guys. On any other day, I would
not recommend this,
but I've been tempted into a pack and
pack and pay because
it's one item.
$13.04
for 15.8
km. Head to your pickup at Coles Town
Hall.
>> never going to be ideal, but it is all
the way along a highway and then all the
way back. So, I'm going to take it. I
need to go and do something. I need to
earn some money. I need to get this
quest. Let's go.
Okay. Okay, I don't mind this.
It's not going to focus, but it is $4
extra
uh for a
a a McDonald's pickup. And I
>> [clears throat]
>> I closed $4 extra for a McDonald's
pickup.
>> left lane, keep left toward 93, then
keep left.
And it says I actually think these might
be
>> m keep left toward 93. They may be going
to the same place. They are going to the
same place. Okay, cool. So, both orders
are being dropped off at the same
location and each
both restaurants are actually situated
right right next to each other. So,
I'll be going getting some um
some Mexican
uh followed by some McDonald's. We will
get a base pay
>> [clears throat]
>> of uh $13 and a few cents.
But
>> Left toward 93. That is two out of three
trips towards a promotion payment of
$24.
So, each and every order that I'm taking
at this minute
actually pays an an additional $8. So,
the first one was seven, it's actually
15. The second one was was four, uh
which is actually 12.
So, overall this
order is worth 30 bucks and it's going
to take less than half an hour. So,
that's not bad.
All right.
We're in the business of making money.
864
for 7.2 km. I'm just around the corner,
which it's actually not a good thing.
You'd think You'd think being close to
the restaurant or you know, two or three
minutes around the corner would would
would work in your favor, but it simply
doesn't because it doesn't give them
time to get it ready. And you'd think
that Uber would send you an order once
it's nearly ready, but they don't. It's
not all the time anyway. Okay. Well,
this will be
This this uh this will be
fourth to last, the fourth to last
order.
I'm not sure why this isn't focusing.
It's really annoying me right now, but
Oh, look at that.
We've got a double.
Another order for another $4, 0.6 km.
We're going to take it.
Which is only going to
uh it put my mind more so at ease if I
need to sit there in the restaurant
waiting. I actually don't know if I've
been to this one before. That's weird.
No, no, no. Where is it taking me, bro?
No, this can't be right. No, this isn't
right. Oh my god. All right, we might
have an issue here. Sometimes the
restaurants are pinned on the in within
the GPS within the Uber GPS at a
completely different location. So, I
know where this restaurant is, luckily.
In fact, it's just over there.
So, I'm hoping that I am close enough to
the pin that Uber has decided
uh indicates where the restaurant is for
me to actually have
arrived. Then I'll be able to actually
pick up the order cuz sometimes if
you're not close enough
to the restaurant, it recognizes that
and it says, "No, well, you mustn't be
there."
So, you can't pick it up.
Well, maybe that's just when you're
dropping stuff off. Either way, I mean,
I was literally just around the corner.
It's right there.
We've got two orders to pick up.
And
time is of the essence, so let's do it.
All right, my friends, we are
possibly taking an order.
Uh
pack and deliver, two items, 665.
Uh
Coles is just there. I've just pulled
into the sup to the um
I've just pulled in to the car park. I'm
going to
uh
I'm I'm take it. This is my second to
last order. What do we What do we What
are we buying?
Oh, we've got some late night dessert,
late night munchies. Actually, M&M minis
on top of some vanilla ice cream would
go quite well.
Uh that's going to be easy.
Isle 3 and Isle 11. All right, let's do
it. All right, it has taken its sweet
time to come through, but this will be
the final
uh the final delivery of the day.
$10.02,
4.9 km,
five items.
Let's do it.
Gladly.
Okay, cool. This is the time of
each shift that you look forward to.
And at times you never think it's going
to get here, but it is 8:40. We have
indeed delivered that order.
And that means we have completed
today's quests.
What a feeling.
What a time to be an Uber driver. Now,
that's going to tick over shortly.
There we go.
$10.02.
And the quest disappears because it has
been achieved, and we have achieved
$400, $407.99.
Um I'm going to go offline.
And let's see.
Actually, we'll look at it at home. But
yeah, $407.99.
Uh we logged on at 11:00.
We had 10 minutes off
for my meeting.
So, um let's call it 8:30. So, that's 9
and 1/2 hours. We got $407.99
less expenses. All right, see you at
home.
Okay, guys, we finally made it home.
Let's Let's Let's break this down. Let's
break down the numbers cuz that's what
we're all here for. So, today
total earnings
total net net or gross Sorry, gross. My
mistake. Gross earnings $407.99
9 hours and 27 minutes Let's Let's call
it 9 and 1/2 hours. Um 9 and 1/2 hours
28 trips base pay $225.94
promotions $153 and a massive tip which
never happens
of $29.05.
So, $407.99
9 and 1/2 hours
as far as kilometers
uh driven today kilometers driven from
point to point start to finish A to B
197
kilometers. Let's call it 200 K's.
And our average
liters per 100
was exactly 10.
So, 200 K's 10 liters per 100 20 liters
of petrol at 225
is $45. So, 400 Let's call it Let's call
it $400. Let's call it
Let's call it $405 less 45 in petrol
360.
So, $360
net
uh from 9 and 1/2 hours. Let's call it
10 hours.
You know, let's let's let's round it up.
So, 10 hours
360 that's $36 an hour
including expenses. That's not bad. 36
an hour I'll take it. I've had fun. You
know, I've had a lot more fun today
driving around doing my own thing
listening to podcasts than I would have
in a whole bunch of other jobs. This
will not be forever. This is when I've
got spare time. And this experiment over
the last seven or eight videos has
been to determine the age-old question
is it possible to earn decent money
delivering Uber Eats? Well, depending on
where you live, depending on what time
you do it, yes, it is. 360
through nine and a half hours. Now, nine
if we had it done in nine hours, that
would have been 40 an hour. Not bad.
Not bad at all.
And we will do it all again another day.
Thanks for watching, guys.
It's been a pleasure.
