The mobile warden scheme is
um a group of wardens who go out and
visit people in their own homes.
But the scheme is all about reducing the
loneliness, be safe, be well looked
after, and to give their families
reassurance that somebody's checking in
on them.
>> Well, when you're sitting here 24/7 and
you can't get out for whatever reason,
you knowing that in a half an hour
the warden
she's she's coming and you'll have a
chat and she'll cheer you up and you'll
feel 100% better. Just
It's like going out for an evening with
a friend.
>> Usually a visit consists of um a
friendly chat. And when you visit
someone on a regular basis, you you kind
of learn what's normal for them.
So, you might see them on a Monday and
they might be a bit down. And then you
see them again on the Thursday or the
Friday and something's different. And at
that point you can intervene and you can
either help them to get a doctor's
appointment or you can contact their
family and it allows you to step in
before something gets too serious.

safe in her own home.
I can't always be there for my mom,
but the reassurance of knowing there is
an extra pair of hands, but it puts my
mind at rest for which I will always be
grateful to the warden service.
>> Well, the warden scheme is a low-cost
alternative to other forms of care. We
wardens have a knowledge of the local
area, so we can signpost our clients to
lunch clubs and and other services that
are available.
>> Anyone hasn't got a warden visit them
and they're on their own a lot,
what they want to do is get a warden
because you wouldn't get a better
service anywhere for all they do for
you.
So, without the warden, I don't know how
much longer I'd be able to cope living
on me own.
With a warden, it makes a lot of
difference.
It makes life much easier.
Really and truly, they're God sent from
heaven, really.
