Heliot Ramos reflected on his team's impressive offensive performance, which saw the Yankees score a season-high 16 runs in their 16-1 victory over Boston. He attributed this surge in production primarily to the strong chemistry and mutual trust among the players, emphasizing that giving each other a chance and keeping the baton moving are crucial elements of their success. Ramos explained that this collective effort allows the offense to ignite naturally when every player feels supported by their teammates.
The conversation then shifted to Ramos's personal milestone of hitting his first home run in a Yankees uniform during the fifth inning. When asked about the at-bat, he described his mindset as simply trying to put the ball in play and drive something manageable, noting that he had been feeling the need for such a moment. Despite the potential pressure of performing in the iconic pinstripes, Ramos expressed that he felt genuinely joyful while rounding the bases and stated that his daily work ethic has kept any external pressure at bay, leaving him with a deep sense of gratitude for being part of the organization.
Ramos also shared his overall positive experience during his first month with the team, praising both his fellow players and the staff for their greatness. He highlighted how much he enjoys being a part of this specific organization and expressed his love for the environment he has found himself in. The interview concluded with Ramos discussing the strategic importance of Will Warren's deep appearance in the bullpen, which helped save arms for future games after a close second game in a double-header, ultimately contributing to the team's ability to secure a decisive win.

The season high 16 runs for this team
today. 25 over the last two games. What
has allowed this offense to ignite?
>> Uh I just think it's giving each other a
chance.
Uh keep passing the baton. Just
move the guy over. Just like trusting
each other. And I think that's the
biggest thing.
>> You had your first big Yankee moment in
that fifth inning. First home run in
pinstripes. Take me through that at bat.
>> Uh honestly, I was just trying to put
the ball in play. Uh I was trying to
drive something like that I can handle.
Um
I really needed that.
>> [laughter]
>> I've been feeling like I needed it. So,
uh I just wanted to put the ball in play
and make it happen for the team.
>> Hey, I was going to ask you about that
cuz it seemed like it was pure joy as
you were rounding the bases. Did you
feel like you had pressure to to produce
and to show your power here in
pinstripes?
>> Uh honestly, I've been working every
day. So, the pressure uh is just
mentally just within me. But,
uh at the end of the day, uh I felt
really good. It's just like I'm very
grateful to be here. And I think that's
the main thing right now that that I
feel in my heart right now.
>> What have you thought of your time in
pinstripes so far? It's been about a
month.
>> Uh I've been loving it. The guys have
been great. Uh the staff are great. Uh I
love being a part of this organization.
>> With the double header yesterday, you
knew that that bullpen was really taxed.
What did you think of Will Warren and
what he was able to do this afternoon?
>> I mean, I think that
that was perfect. Uh him going that deep
in the game is is great for the bullpen,
great for the team. Uh and I think the
second game yesterday was super close
too just to save arms and some guys.
>> Oswaldo, appreciate the time.
Congratulations on the win.
>> Thank you.
>> And that first home run.
>> Thank you. Thank you.
>> We'll send it back to you guys.
