Video summary
The video features an interview with Dylan Taylor, a financial advisor who has successfully generated over $250,000 in commissions from annuity leads within just six months. After five years in the industry, Dylan attributes his rapid success to the high quality of leads provided by Kaboom Advisors, specifically their "Kaboom" program. He highlights that these leads are significantly better than those from other vendors because they are fresh and strictly assigned to individual agents, preventing the common issue where prospects feel harassed by multiple callers. Furthermore, the lead generation process includes rigorous asset qualification, requiring at least $100,000 in investable assets excluding a home, and utilizes AI-driven phone verification to ensure that every contact is a real person with a valid number, effectively eliminating dead calls or disconnected numbers.
Dylan emphasizes that speed and personalization are the keys to converting these leads into appointments. His strategy involves contacting prospects immediately while the lead is still fresh in their minds, utilizing a multi-channel approach of calls, texts, and emails until contact is made. Once connected, he avoids overwhelming clients with product specifics during the initial call, instead focusing on addressing their underlying concerns regarding retirement, Roth conversions, or lifetime income. This consultative approach builds trust quickly, allowing him to schedule Zoom meetings within one to two days to establish a deeper rapport. The platform also supports this process by introducing advisors through custom landing pages that display their name, photo, and direct calendar booking links, ensuring the prospect knows exactly who is contacting them before the call even begins.
Beyond the immediate sales results, Dylan shares his personal journey from construction to entrepreneurship, noting that he learned the industry by doing the extra work that others avoid, such as calling carriers directly and seeking mentorship from veterans. He advises new agents not to wait until they feel "ready" to enter the market, as there is never a perfect time, but rather to commit to the process and be willing to face rejection. A significant part of his business model involves helping other agents overcome the barrier of high upfront costs; he founded Ascent Financial Solutions to allow advisors to start with minimal out-of-pocket expenses, avoiding traditional onboarding fees and monthly subscriptions. This structure enables agents to build their capital through commissions before needing to spend heavily on marketing, creating a sustainable path to independence and long-term success in the financial services sector.

Hey, what's going on, you guys? I'm so
excited for today's interview. This cat,
listen to this man before I bring him
in. This is unbelievable, right? He has
earned over $250,000
in commissions from our annuity leads
just in the last 6 months, wrote about
3.5 million dollars in annuity premium,
has been in the business about 5 years,
has been crushing it on our Kaboom
annuity leads. We have a whole special
program for Kaboom advisors. And also,
Kaboom is spelled c a boom. And you can
click on the link below to learn more at
c a boom advisors.com,
kaboomadvisors.com
to learn more about our annuity leads
program, our monthly options and
subscriptions, how our annuity leads
work. Also, real quick before I jump to
Dylan, three things that I love and I'm
going to get his feedback on here in in
just a second are our annuity leads are
asset qualified. So, we ask everyone,
"Hey, do you have at least $100,000 or
more in investable assets
excluding your home?" And if they've
marked no, we kick them out of the
funnel. We also verify the phone, so
they're phone verified where we text the
prospect, we use AI to connect, and we
text the prospect a six-digit security
code. They have to go back in the funnel
to verify, "Hey, it's a real cell phone
number of that human being." Cuz nobody
loves people that are dead responding to
leads somehow, okay? So, second is phone
verified, and then third is that we
introduce the advisor via a custom
landing page and a text and an email,
and we introduce you to the prospect
with your name, your picture, your
national producer number, and your
calendar booking link. Please help me
welcome someone who's been freaking
crushing it. I love this cat and excited
to hear more about his success, Mr.
Dylan Taylor.
>> Thanks for having me on, Cody.
Appreciate it.
>> Dude, appreciate you, man. Uh w- how did
you hear about our annuity leads?
>> Uh honestly, pretty simple, just
Facebook. I I, you know, I search in
obviously once you search like where to
get good leads, you know, go on Google
where to get good leads, you're going to
get a million different things that kind
of filter in and saw what you guys did,
saw the success stories, and also saw
you really kind of working the behind
the scenes. Obviously, as you know, not
all leads are created equal. And so,
getting getting a good one uh tried
obviously a lot of vendors.
Um pretty happy with the success we've
been having with the leads we've gotten
so far, especially in the annuity basis
where we really stay in that.
>> It's awesome, man. And and what what do
you feel like has been different about
our annuity leads compared to others?
>> Um I'd say the main difference is the
detail that you get on the lead, but
also they're fresh. I you know, I think
everyone knows this is the same lead is
distributed to like 10 other agents with
a lot of different lead vendors, and
that's a problem, especially when you're
calling the same person. They're like,
"Dude,
quit calling me. You know, I've been
called by 10 million other people." And
for the most part, I mean, again, these
leads are strictly for you. They might
go apply somewhere else, but it's very
simple to go work that and all build
that relationship and make yourself a
little bit different than the others.
>> Yeah, for sure. Also, I didn't even
mention that
Dylan qualified for our Kaboom
Millionaires Club.
Uh whether you submitted 10 grand or a
million dollars, like you move up and
earn rewards and get, you know,
celebrated. Uh and actually, now you're
about to qualify for the quarter of a
million-dollar club. He was at the
six-figure club, which is sick. Um
with the uh annuity leads, right? You're
you're what's your process for like
reaching out to them and booking an
appointment with them?
>> Sure.
Speed is the name of the game in like
well, my company in general, but also in
everything. So, as soon as you get a
lead, it's like as soon as you can reach
out, you want to reach out. They're it's
fresh in their mind, it's fresh in their
memory. They know what they just signed
up for. And as soon as you call them,
you're going to be the first person to
call them, which doesn't give them any,
you know, ability to go even apply
somewhere else. So, you're like right in
their front of their face,
um if you can. And if you don't get a
hold of them, you know, it's text,
email. It's, you know, call AM and PM
until you're really getting a hold of
that lead.
Um inevitably, after a couple days, I'll
start double-dialing, triple-dialing,
just depending on what it is. Actually,
I've gotten a hold of a lot of leads
that way because you're like, "Oh, who
is this person calling me? You know, Is
it an emergency?" Um and then they'll
pick up and they go, "Oh, I was asking
for this, you know?" Um and so it's
really cool to have that and also work
that lead. And as soon as you get a hold
of the person, it's never about product
information or specifics or what product
it's going to be, whether it's annuity,
life, you know, IUL, it doesn't really
matter what the product is. It's it's
addressing the concern that the person
has. Because if you address the concern,
then you can put things together without
saying any product name. And then you
can just throw that together and say,
"Hey, this is a concern. This is how
we're going to solve it." And it just
makes it super simplistic that way and
you're earning their trust as well.
>> Yeah, so then you're you're having
initial conversation. You're you're
Yeah, you're trying to learn more about
them. And then you're booking a
time to get back on with them.
>> Yeah, so really the phone call is like
5, 10 minutes. I've been on the phone
for 30 minutes with certain people that
want to ask a lot of questions, but in
reality, the whole goal of that is to
get in front of them over a Zoom call.
Um as fast as you possibly can to get a
person's name. Phone calls are great,
but if you're more in person as much as
you can be, which is Zoom. Obviously,
everyone's using Zoom now and it's
impossible when the clients are across
the country. Our clients are in every
single state. So, you hop on a Zoom call
as fast as you possibly can, usually
within one to two days if possible, with
that person and you go establish more
rapport, build more trust with them. And
then kind of show them a little bit of
options and also why you're different
than the other advisors or why you're
different than the other people that
they might be talking to. Because if
you're not different, they're not going
to go with you.
>> True. Yeah, that's cool. Um what
percentage do you feel like we do a good
job of making sure people actually have
investable assets? Like we say we do
that, but do you feel like that's
actually valid?
>> I feel like maybe 1% of these are don't
have the investable assets. And I don't
even think it's that much. I've had one
out of 120 that I worked
>> Wow.
>> They had 50 grand. So, um but you guys
do a good job with like, "Okay, well,
that person didn't have it, so let's
give you another one anyway. So, very
simple.
>> Yep.
Have you ever Have you ever got a
disconnected number or dead person?
>> Never.
Never. Never had that.
>> [laughter]
>> They are dead, I have no idea cuz I
never got a hold of them.
>> Yeah, true. That's true. Exactly.
[laughter]
Um and then
Oh, the introduction. Have you had Have
you had it to where they um
like, you know, expecting your call or
somebody, you know, knew your name or
how's that how's that went?
>> Most people do. Uh most people do. I
would say the only people that don't are
again the individuals that might have
just filled it out and they've gotten
called by five people and they're
already disgruntled. And again, that's
on, you know, that's on them. It's on
the leads. That's also law of numbers,
I'd like to say, but most everyone that
I get a hold of is either expecting my
call or expecting me to come up with a
solution for them in whatever they're
looking for.
>> Yeah. I think that's cool cuz cuz most
people know this. Like, yes, we we
actually build like a custom uh we have
a brand um called American Retirement
that we build an entire confirmation and
landing page funnel for each advisor
uh custom, right? And hoping you come
back and keep working with us cuz we're
building all these assets, right? And
so, we do this and we add, again, like I
mentioned, like, we let them know
they've been matched to a retirement
advisor to help them. Mention your name,
um picture, national producer number,
and we let them know, "Hey, the easiest
way to get a hold of this individual is
to book directly on their calendar." And
so, we're actually working through
improving that piece um so that we can
get more book automatic bookings on the
calendar as like an extra bonus. And
then we're also texting and emailing the
prospect to let them know who's going to
be reaching out to them. Um
and what's crazy is, dude, I I mean, I
don't know if you've heard this from
Jonah or from any anybody else on our
team or just people you're working with.
But we have We are literally getting um
it's so grateful for this, but we are
literally getting wins
from an advisors every single day
lately.
Like, we
are so like excited about that because
the success It's It's why annuity has
become our top-rated lead. We have a
bunch of other types of lead, but
annuity has because it become of our
top-related rated lead because of the
percentage that actually succeed. Um
>> Sure.
>> Yeah, what what would you say like if
someone's out there and they're like,
"Man, I I've heard the spiel 9,000 times
and I've been, you know, I've been
scammed by, you know, some dude in his
underwear in his mom's basement on a
laptop saying he's amazing at marketing
before." You know, like that happens. Um
what would you say to the person that's
used to hearing this type of stuff and
then they try something and it just
freaking is garbage?
>> Yeah, I mean,
>> [clears throat]
>> I can't tell you how many I I can't tell
you how many number of times where I've,
you know, you purchase a dollar lead or
you purchase this lead and you're like,
"Well, I'm expecting it to be good." Or
I'm sold the world and it's just
miserable, right? So, once I find
something that's really good and what
I'm going to really tell people is once
you find something that's really good,
you want to stick with it and results
are proven. And the ROI is huge,
especially on these leads and I think
that's why obviously annuities are you
guys' best sellers cuz they're done so
well. A lot of people do annuity leads,
but it to do them very well and to do
them with the information and also not
having any disconnected numbers or dead
people, I mean, that's pretty That's
pretty huge in itself because there are
some leads that I've worked where I'm
like, "Man, every one out of two is not
working." Or they're not around or they
applied for or they applied for
information like 30 years ago. You know,
I've had those leads. And so, you know,
the proof is in the pudding in in a lot
of things and when you see a lot of
people winning, a lot of people with the
videos or reviews that you guys have as
well and I've I'll just come on and say
as well. I mean, we've had nothing but
great support on the back end, great
working with the agents that you guys
have distributing them and helping out
along the way. And if any have to be or
aren't in the right state or they're
replaced pretty much immediately or
within one or with days. So, it's pretty
awesome to have that.
>> It's awesome, buddy. Appreciate that. Um
and so if you guys are interested and
you want to chat, we would love to chat.
You can go to kaboomadvisors.com or link
is below in the description. Uh Dylan, I
had a question for you, buddy. You've
been doing this about 5 years.
Um have you have you always sold
annuity?
>> Um
I can't say always. I first started out
in like the life insurance or IUL,
right? That's what we really was our
bread and butter when um I initially
started. And there's a couple of
annuities thrown in there here and
there.
And I just really liked how simple of a
structure the annuities are. And also
how easy it is to be able to provide
information, especially to people that
are near retirement, in retirement, or
you know, want to leave something
behind. And that honestly the annuity
covers all of it. There's, you know,
hundreds of different companies that
have annuities. There's a bunch of
different types of them. And for
whatever people are looking for, whether
it's Roth conversion, whether it's
growth, whether it's a lifetime income,
annuities provide every single one of
those. So we can do them all. So that's
pretty awesome in the annuity space.
Plus, if you're an agent, you understand
chargebacks, and you get zero
chargebacks from annuities in all in
most cases, unless you're really doing
some bad business. So it's pretty
awesome to have that and also know that
commission's going to stay there.
>> Yeah, it's a very uh unique world. Like
I don't most agents, I love that you
know, most agents and advisors like I
love that you're talking this way
because most most of them are like
terrified of the word annuity. Like, "Oh
my gosh, it sounds so complicated." Um
you sound like you
have made it simple, and that it really
is simple for a lot of agents or
advisors that are considering it, cuz we
do get a lot of agents on our well watch
our channel that are,
>> [snorts]
>> you know, they jump into life insurance,
you know, or IULs and in
uh mortgage protection, whatever. And in
the annuity world like
scares them.
>> Sure.
>> How do they learn? How long does it
take? What should they do to learn? You
know, obviously having a mentor that can
help them along the way and run
appointments and learn. Like how did you
learn?
>> Yeah, I mean luckily I I'm someone
that's going to go get, right? Even
before this industry, I was in
construction and I worked my way to
being the youngest certified electrician
in the company at the time.
I also then worked my way up to run a
company with someone and be successful
in that sense. The only thing I didn't
like was that I was up and down
California, never home, and you know how
that is a lot of the time. So, I wanted
to transition into something and when I
came into the industry, there they stick
you with a trainer. You know, I was
working with one of the most just very
populated brokerage. There's a lot of
agents over there and as you know, most
agents or depending on who you are
trained by is important, but the other
thing is what you do by yourself. And
so, what I would do in my own time, I
was barely licensed. I would call the
carriers. I would call the IMO's. I'd
call everybody that had some information
for me to get information out of them to
tell me how this works, how this
operates, how I can talk to people, and
I would meet with people that have been
in the industry for like 50 years and
I've been in the industry for like 2
months and I would take them out to
breakfast and I would be like, let me
just let me just pick your brain for a
second and give me some words, give me
some vocabulary to talk about on the
calls and that's where I picked up a lot
of stuff and I did a lot of things that
agents aren't willing to do or most
people in any industry aren't willing to
do, which is just do the extra work. And
that's not just in finance or insurance.
That's in every field of being an
entrepreneur. It's what's the minimum
effort I can do with getting paid the
most and that's not the mentality you
have to have is what do I got to do to
be different. And so, that's what I did
and I transitioned within just a few
months full-time from going, you know,
multiple six figures a year in
construction to straight on to
entrepreneurship in insurance and
finance. So, it's asking the questions,
it's getting a hold of people, and it's
not being afraid to be told no. That's
the biggest thing that people worried
about is I'm going to told I'm going to
get told no. And what's the worst thing
that's going to happen is you're just
never going to talk to that person again
or they're just going to tell you no,
it's on to the next.
>> True.
>> Segway to a yes.
>> Yeah, I uh I also looked at your
account, and it looks like based on what
you spent with us uh compared to what
you've earned,
it's about a 10x. It's It's not far off
from, you know, about every dollar
you're putting in, you're getting $10
back, which speaks to a lot of things.
It speaks to your work ethic. It speaks
to um you know, how good of job you do
when you get a hold of people. It speaks
to Like we had one gentleman recently
that said, you know, "Hey, I stopped
using your annuity leads." I'm like,
"Oh, okay. What happened?" He said,
"Well, I kept getting a bunch of people
to third appointments, but I couldn't
close anybody."
>> Mhm.
>> "Huh, interesting." I'm like, "Well, I
don't know that that's us, but" And then
what's funny is then he came back later
and said, "You know what? I realized it
was me. I'm now much better at closing
annuities. I want to come back because I
had a lot of opportunity with you, but I
just wasn't, you know, locking it down,
right? And so,
>> Sure.
>> you must do a uh
good job, or even have people in your
corner that are like, you know, helping
you learn this game and improve and
close some bigger deals. I think the
sheer amount of money that scares a lot
of agents, but I will I will admit like,
there is so much opportunity. We are
leaning into this world really heavy
because we're getting a lot of feedback
from advisors that they're like
desperate to find something that can put
them on the phone consistently with
people. Um
so, if they want to learn more from you,
or just follow your journey, man, what
you know, how do they follow you, or
where do they go, or what do they do?
>> Yeah, very simple. I I mean, honestly,
something I'm going to really add as
well in being successful is some agents
will get trapped into brokerages that
have super low commissions, or have They
have no idea how commissions work, or
they'll take the street contract and
they make it lower, and I think that's
something that a lot of people got to
understand is when you're taking
commissions that are like
a tenth of what you should actually be
receiving, and they're like, "Well, it's
really hard to make it." Well, it is
really hard to make it, especially if
you have a super low contract. So, also
evaluating that cuz that's something I
had to do and that's also why I created
Ascent Financial Solutions was to give
an avenue to agents to get into the
industry with no money out of pocket
that doesn't go towards their licensing.
So, how we're different and you know
where to find us Ascent Financial
Solutions right out of California. Um
how to find me Instagram Dylan Taylor
with two Rs and it's d i l l o n. But
how I onboard an agent or how our thing
is ours is different than you know the
brokers I was working at is I had to
come up with $200 out of pocket just to
onboard, right? Just to join a
brokerage. And then I also had to pay
for licensing and it ended up being
almost $1,000 for that licensing. And
that's a huge chunk of change uh
especially in today's day and age. So,
being able to get into it for $200 less
and also no brokerage fees a month.
There's no monthly fee or subscription
that we charge our agents. There's no
onboarding fee. So, literally all they
have to pay for is their licensing in
the states that they're willing to do
business in. And they're onboarded,
they're licensed, they are appointed
with our carriers. We take care of all
that back office work for them. Nothing
out of pocket to them. And then we're
able to provide them with great
mentorship, training, and the biggest
thing is putting them to independence to
where they're successful and not just
having no idea where to go, but also
giving them an avenue to be successful.
And so, I think that's what we really do
different and what we do very well is
really teach agents how to actually get
into a system that works for them, build
their book of business, and then always
have a book of business to work, and
then once they're independent leads come
into flow into fruition from there.
But I mean as you know as well for an
agent, right? To just come out and say
hey, I'm going to spend X amount of
dollars or I'm going to spend thousands
of dollars on annuity leads. Most people
don't have that capital yet. So,
building that capital for them and
getting them some commissions and be
like hey, we got an awesome lead vendor
here and here you go and there you go.
Now you have your leads. Now you can
really build it." So, you have to spend
money to make money, but I want agents
to make money before they have to spend
that money as well.
>> Yeah, that's creative, bro. I like that
you're doing that cuz you're right.
That's uh that's one thing that agents
struggle with is like coming in and
saying, "Okay, I got to spend money and
uh you know, I don't understand products
at the same time." You know, like it's
uh
You're right. You're speaking to You're
speaking to, you know, majority of our
audience that totally align with what
you're saying. Like it is
terrifying. But but I'm telling you
what, man, if you guys will show up and
and be like a Dylan and and and work
your tail off and be reliable and be
coachable
um and and willing to learn and grow,
you know, realizing you're not going to
make a million bucks overnight, like you
can do really well. Can be really
rewarding. But you can tell, you know,
like Dylan and I are new to each other.
He's been crushing with our annuity
leads, but guess what? He's someone who
you can tell uh cares about his
business. Cares about his clients and
wants to win. Like you can tell he's a
competitive dude and you know, if you're
if you're out there, like that's what it
takes. And if if you're like that
you can win, you know, with an Ascent.
You can win with a Kaboom Advisors as
well. So.
>> 100% and um I would say the biggest
thing that I'm going to really bring to
the table for a lot of people is, you
know, waiting till you're ready, you'll
be waiting forever. Um cuz there's no a
fully ready. It's just you got to jump
in at one point in time and you have to
commit to the process and you also have
to see it through. And if you're not
going to see it through, you're only
doing yourself a disservice in that. So,
I would say if people are coming into
the insurance industry, I think it's
amazing. The financial industry
insurance industry, as you know, is
growing insane, but you also have to
know why you're coming into it and also
what you're willing to sacrifice or the
time that you're willing to spend into
the company or into the business to make
you successful because, like you said,
you're not going to make a million
dollars overnight. Can you make a
million dollars in the next 5 years?
100%.
But you're not going to make it
tomorrow. So put it in. Put the effort
in.
>> It's awesome. I mean you you should
before you know it you're going to be
making a million bucks. This this cat if
he's not already he's making a million
bucks a year, you know.
>> Yeah, I mean this is your sorry, you
know, that's just our leads been but we
have luckily you know, we have avenues
of business elsewhere as well, which is
really cool, but the leads is just an
awesome bonus on top is what I usually
say and also just another avenue to get
into it. And honestly just to give one
more benefit to the lead there's a lead
I got 2 years ago from you guys that
reached out and he's like well I got 1.2
million that I really want to do a Roth
conversion on and I wanted to reach back
out to you cuz I got one of your emails
and I was like beautiful. So here we go,
you know.
>> So that's what's really cool
keep working them.
>> [clears throat]
>> Hey man, dude I appreciate you. Thank
you for Thank you for being a part of
