Hello everybody and welcome back to my
uh vlog to my channel. And uh it's nice
to nice to say today that we got
glorious sunshine coming in through the
back windows behind me first thing in
the morning which is absolutely lovely.
Okay, so as I promised um some power
tests. Now I got a newbie coming who's
only had chance to put it on charge. And
uh this is one of these bow fang minis
compared to my
Wooang. I think that's how you say it.
You can see there's quite a considerable
amount of size difference.
That's you know considering it size.
It's probably about the same sort of
weight if it was the same size as this.
But if you look at it next to a clang
shang
or what would have been a bow fang um
different name. Yeah, it's um it's it's
h smaller than that. It's got a bigger
screen though if we put the screen tops
to about the same sort of height. You
can see that the screen's better. And uh
this one actually is a is a color screen
uh which is quite pleasant.
Okay, but that's not what this is about.
This is about just looking at the power
outputs on these. So, we're going to
start off with this quenching
because I've already got it set up. I'm
going to turn the power on. Now, the
reason why
uh let's get it to power forward
wattage. We did the VWR thing, didn't
we? And um
uh yeah, for my UK viewers, um I made a
mistake. Um,
and I'm going to say within the last
sort of four videos, what was that
mistake? And if you can guess what the
mistake is, I'll send one of these out
to you. I'm sorry I can't send it out to
the uh the overseas um because the
postal
uh expenses are just way too high. But
if you're in the UK and you've got a
call sign, um I'll send one of these out
to you if you can tell me what that
mistake was.
So, let's have a little look at uh
full wattage.
Uh we're on dummy load, so it doesn't
matter. And just in case anybody
wonders, let's just um
let's just do the VWR quick on here. So,
you can see what this this is a 25 watt
dummy load
DC.3 gigs, 25 watts, 50 amps impedance.
And you can see what the uh see that's
just keeping that held on. There's no
variation.
It's um pretty happy to be a one one
let's say
the lowest uh VWR.
So um we can see automatically this is
on high power um and the forward voltage
u wattage sorry is 5.07
watt. Now, let's just change this to um
Oh, that's weird. I turn that down. I
didn't think I had the beeping on this
thing anymore. So, let's um Sorry. Turn
that down to there. We'll go to mid
power
and we'll look at that.
All right. 3.75.
3.75. Make sure I do this facing the
camera.
And then we'll look at the low power.
Um, take a peek at that.
Uh, 3.33
doesn't really make a great deal of
difference, does it? All right. So,
that's that one that's got the orange on
top.
So, we're going to just go directly to
the other Quang Shang. Now, the only
difference between these two rails is
one's got an an orange top and the other
one has a an orange knob even
uh and the other one has a uh a black
one.
So,
and they both got the same firmware on
both should be pretty much the same
battery. I mean, even to the way this
screws on, look, they're pretty much
both exactly the same. So, anyway, let's
have a look. 100% look on the battery
and uh just quick look at the power.
We're on high. So, let's have a little
look.
This is on high power. 3.09.
Interesting. Right. Interesting.
We'll click that to medium power.
And uh we're going to go
4.33.
up 3.75. Let's do that again. Just one,
two, three, four, five, 4.32.
Right.
And then uh on low power. All right. So,
we're on low power.
Come back around and

Interesting. Yeah. Interesting. So, two
identical radios, two identical
firmwares, two identical everything
apart from the slight change in color
here and the uh knob color
they are different on the outputs.
That's just, you know,
I'm not here to anything. I'm just
showing. See? So, if you bought one of
these radios,
you may or may not be getting
well,
you might get either of these on the
output powers.
Okay, so let's have a little look at
this valve fang.
Cool if that was any smaller. Look,
we're starting to lose a bit of space
from screw one of these in.
Okay, so
that's nice and snug. Okay, let's turn
it on. I believe this is already in high
power.
We'll have a little look. Uh, radio set.
Go to that. and we're going to go to um
step power. I'm not familiar with
getting around this, but uh if you
wanted to have a little look at the
menu, this is a good chance to
have a little bit of a look. All right,
reset. So, I'm obviously in the wrong
place. Exit scan program channel. Um
radio info. All right. So, uh, that's,
um,
all right, let me just, uh, back out
this. We'll just go for a, uh, oh, we
can see H. I can see there's high on
both of these. And if I, uh, if I was to
switch to there, 435. I'm just going to
put it in. What was the frequency on
these ones? I think they were about the
same, weren't they?
What was the frequency? 145.
So, let's just go 145.
Um,
and take it out of um, take it out of
there. Go 145 0 0. Doesn't matter. I'm
not transmitting. It's still on the demi
load. Still on high power. So, let's
have a little look at this. Now, this
has got two uh, transmit keys to PDT
press to talk. So, we'll be doing it
using the lower one.
And, uh, we can see there we got 4.75.
Okay. 4.75 watts on high power. Now, uh,
this you'd think might be a straight
into a menu, but then now that puts the
puts the torch on, you have a blinky
blinky or off. Bit annoying that that's
actually there. If I go in here now, you
have a slight different radio uh, set, I
believe. If I just I'm going to go back
the other way around just to double
check that. And um so stepch power power
save
uh but we don't seem to have any
any way of um
changing the power output power on image
that is in case anybody wonder what the
PWR stood for there. Um alarm tone.
Yeah. So there doesn't seem to be
any um power on.
Um so we can look at it on the program
channel
and uh we can look at the transmit power
there. So I'm just going to say we're
going to go there. We're going to go to
low. So hopefully that changes it
throughout the entire menu. Don't know.
But we'll have a little look. Go back
there. And now we can see an L on there.
So, okay, that's uh the way you change
that. Then again, pressing the bottom
PTT.
Uh we just let that settle. And we got
uh 2.09 W. So, you know. Yep. So, at
least low power on this does work. I do
like the screen. Look at that. That's
That's cute, isn't it? For such a small
screen, it's pretty cute. And um
and we got the lower power there. So
that's good.
That's uh that's good. And then let's
have a little look at the uh at the
Wooang. These are the only four radios I
have. Oh, well actual fact I have a
another one of these, but it's not been
charged up. It's still uh brand new in
the box. Not uh that would be the one
that I'd be sending out of this one cuz
I know it works. It's still got it
little seedy thing on the front. You
near the glass screen protector.
Although it's not got a big blue tab.
You can just about make out the tab to
pull off the just up here screen
protector.
Anyway, so we're going to need a
different uh setup for this
copper. Oops.
Put a
coupler on there.
There we go. You only have to do it
finger tight and it together.
All right.
Get this on here.
Nice and snug. All right. Then,
uh, so the battery is a little bit lower
on here, does it? But it doesn't matter.
Let's just put that down to the bottom.
We're going to go 1 4 5 0 0 0. Um, if I
find any anomalies on the other ones,
um, be it UHF or whatever, I'll I'll
post a video on it. But just for the
moment, that's fine. So, this is on low
power. Um, if I just hit the PTT very
quickly there, it's on low power. Then
you can see that L. Um, the lighting is
not very good. Uh, maybe I turn the back
light up a bit. There you can see.
Hello. Uh, but you can see the uh L
there. If I just go back. Oh, exit. I
want to do out there actually. Go back.
And you can see the L uh bottom left.
So, we're going to do a little transmit
power there.
And as you can see, 1.4.
That's on low power. So, let's go into
our menu and uh we're going to go
and text power. I'm going to go from
there to the middle. All right. So, now
we're on M. And you see that on there.
Now we do the transmit.
We got 263
264. Nice and stable. That's good. And
uh now we're going to look at the text
power again. Click on there. We'll get
to high. Set that. And now we go back
and look at the power.
Oh, I'm not pressing the right button.

6 5.06. So, they're all in the right
place as well. All right. Um,
that's it. That was just a little bit of
uh the the power ranges over these
radios. And the reason why I showed two
of these is cuz I did notice there was a
slight uh a slight anomaly. And just um
if you want to see actually just turn
that off for a moment. If you want to
see
what you get in the bag with one of
these little mini valve bank things.
I shall show you. So you get a user
manual. That's nice. And there's an app
as well. Android or iOS because you can
actually program one of these from your
mobile phone by using an app because
it's got a Bluetooth connection. That
makes it pretty clever, pretty good,
right?
And uh so you get a little barrel thing
and a plastic bag.
You get a little antenna.
You don't get a bigger antenna. You just
get one of these little antennas.
You get the charging because this is
USBC charging.
Where's it gone? It's on the back here.
USBC charging. Uh, which pretty cool,
right? So, you don't need one of those
docking stations. Any any USB C plugged
into your laptop or
And uh what else you get? Yeah, you get
one of these. Um,
okay. So, you can
lanyard it to yourself through this back
part here.
And then you got that. Yep. So, you
don't have to have it knock out your
hand. And there's also a belt clip
um that I've got on the back of here
already, but there's a belt clip. So,
just for the sake of it, then let's
leave that out of there. Yeah, just pop
that stuff back in there.
Let's have a little look just for Come
on. We got two of them. Why not test it?
Let me put that box out the way over
there.
Let's have a look at this one.
All right. So, let's put our uh
setup on here. Do that from here. And
just just for, you know, for the sake of
it, let's just take a peek and see what
this one's like. As there's two big
differences with the old Wang Shains
there. I don't know if they're all the
same company, but different names. It's
that happens quite a lot with different
companies.
Um,
all right. So, one thing to notice, it's
uh
threaded on different, but that could be
because the the the socket there is just
slightly different setup.
All right.
And so, we're going to go, we're on the
VFO. We're going to go 145 0 0. And it's
in high power mode, as you can see. And
let's uh
467. Now, this one is not fully charged.
It's only halfway charged, but 467.
I think the other one was 5.07
or something like that. Could be wrong.
Uh now, let's go into the menu. And we
want to uh program, isn't it? That's
what it's uh
in there. transmit power. See, it's nice
and easy once you know where things are.
And it's, like I say, I mean, it's a
lovely screen. It's It does look really
nice. I'm going have to go over setting
one of these up with the Bluetooth on
the phone and all that sort of thing.
And uh but just for now, we'll look at
the low power on this one. I'm going to
leave it to you guys to go backwards on
the video to see what difference there
may or may not be if you so desire. But
it's such a lovely little handy. It's a
tiny little thing. Uh so yeah, on there.
Let's have a little look on the bottom
one of course at the uh
what we got?

Near enough halfway to what it is at the
moment. Interesting. E. So there we go.
That's a little look at the um
um the output power of these particular
radios. And like I say, it's uh
we got two of the quang shangs there
quite differently set up. I'm not quite
sure how that's actually happened with
these uh quang shanks.
I'm not quite sure why one would um be
different to the others like that,
but
maybe it's something uh you know, I
don't know if you've had experience with
these. Maybe you've not had a great
experience with these. I know when I was
doing the antennas, I found that the one
that came with this, which I expected to
be pretty damn good, was nothing but a
dummy load. And uh I would have expected
different because this is a slightly you
know higher rated uh than some of the
real cheap ones. But hey ho. Uh just a
little quick look at the little tiny
mini
bow fan compared to some of the other
handheld sizes.
Uh this is
a proper little dinky but with a bigger
size color screen.
