Video summary

The video features a reaction and discussion of the teaser trailer for the upcoming film *Haiwaan*, directed by Priyadarshan and starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. The hosts express excitement about the project, noting that it appears to be a comedy based on the director's reputation, though they remain open to the possibility that it could be a serious drama. A significant point of interest for the viewers is the casting of Akshay Kumar as a blind martial artist who protects a young girl from a psychopathic killer. The hosts praise both actors for their versatility, acknowledging Saif Ali Khan's strong comedic background while expressing particular enthusiasm for seeing Akshay Kumar take on a dramatic villainous role, which would be a departure from his usual characters. The discussion delves into the film's cast and crew, highlighting the director Priyadarshan's extensive filmography with over 80 titles, mostly comedies, and noting that this project might showcase a different side of his directing style. The hosts also analyze the supporting cast, mentioning actress Moanalisha as a pleasant surprise and discussing the background of other actors like Savani Kumar, whose family has a rich history in Indian modeling and acting. There is a brief comparison drawn between Akshay Kumar's character and Kane from the *John Wick* universe, another blind martial artist played by Donnie Yen, to illustrate how such roles are executed effectively when grounded in legitimate skill rather than mere imitation. A major theme of the conversation revolves around the importance of originality in acting, specifically warning against trying to mimic iconic performances like Heath Ledger's Joker or Daniel Day-Lewis's characters. The hosts argue that while fans appreciate great acting, attempting to copy famous portrayals often results in a failed impression rather than a believable character. They emphasize that successful actors must distance themselves from their own knowledge of previous roles to create something unique and authentic, a challenge they believe is crucial for the success of this new film. Despite some humorous banter about celebrating September 11th and watching footage of hurricanes, the overall tone of the video is one of anticipation for the movie's release on September 11th. The hosts conclude that with a stellar cast and a renowned director, they are eager to see how the story unfolds in the upcoming trailer. They encourage their audience to share their thoughts and excitement in the comments section, reinforcing their channel's identity as a place dedicated to discussing the wackiest and funniest films on earth while maintaining a critical eye on acting choices and character development.

It says Priadarian. He's the comedy director. Your mom's a comedy director. >> So, I don't know if this is a comedy movie or a serious movie. So, let's uh figure this out. >> It's a It's probably a comedy right now. It's probably going to be really bad. [laughter] >> It's also It's also um a teaser. Oh, it's not. [snorts] >> Oh, I love teasers, especially on my butt. >> Oh, maybe it's serious. [music] Zarttosh. >> [music] >> Oh god, they're going to play basketball. [music] >> [screaming] >> Never forget. [laughter] Sorry. He also eats popcorn watching 911 footage. [laughter] Sorry. Well, anytime I see that uh Bush did 911, by the way, did in case you didn't know that. Why? What's this about? >> All right, so Sartoage is remember when we used to call him Sarttoage >> all the time cuz that's all we knew him as. >> If you didn't know that our introduction to Safe Ali Khan was sacred games, >> I believe. Actually, it might. I don't think so. Actually, I think it was uh wasn't he at Dolatai? >> Maybe. Maybe. >> Is he our first appreciation, not introduction? >> No, I think we did Omara. >> Was he in Data High? No, that's a mirror. And >> I don't know that we did Omara before Sacred Games. >> Yes, Cypes touch. We did. We did Omar. Uh [snorts] >> we did Omar the four sacred games. >> I could be wrong. You guys let me know. I think we did Dilat the high and at least Omara. I believe we we went through Vashall's quickly. >> Well, for us he became most known as being Sartage. >> Yeah. >> Which for all of you that's not the case. >> So he is blind here. And >> is this his first film since the breakin when he nearly died? >> No, I don't think so. >> No, I don't think so. I could be wrong. Um, and then Ash is laughing behind a screen for some reason. >> Yeah, he's in the water. He's getting ready to jump out of the water. >> All right, let's see here. >> I am I like the fact that I was expecting to be truly I thought it might be just another wacky comedy, but a blind martial artist protects a girlchild from a psychopath killer. >> Is a psychopathic killer? That's awesome. That's awesome. Okay. Have we seen because if you guys don't know one, we appreciate both these actors actually. We we think Ash and Scythe are very talented actors for both actually. I think Ash is stronger in comedy of course. >> And as much as I was joking about the most recent comedy things, the majority of Ash's comedy stuff we love. >> Yeah. >> But we've seen we think Ox is actually a very versatile actor. >> Very ex He can do everything. >> Uh he's a very good dramatic actor. very good dramatic actor. Um, and he's also really funny. >> He's a hilarious guy. >> Hilariously funny. >> I have we seen him play a villain? I We've seen Scythe play a villain, >> but it doesn't look like he's playing the villain here. >> No, >> I don't Am I wrong? Have we seen Ash play a villain before? >> Trying to rack my brain with it. I don't I don't. But that's exciting regardless because >> um yeah, I love I love this idea. >> As long as it's obviously done correctly and not like actually he's trying to be the Joker, >> right? >> That would be bad. >> But obviously we'll wait to actually see the trailer. >> Yeah. If he takes a legitimate take on it as well as I mean the moment you say blind martial artist, >> I can't help it. And it doesn't mean you can't tell stories about blind martial artists, but I'm I'm going to the John Wick universe and the >> who's blind in the predominant um what's the character name? Dog gone it. Um >> hold on, let me tell you cuz it's going to drive me crazy. You all know it. You've already written it down in the comments here. Um >> I've forgotten most of those movies. >> I'll know it the minute I see it. Um and they're making a spin-off, >> The Ballerina, >> of of his character. Um, no it's not him. Where is he? >> Who's the blind guy in John Wick? >> Kane. That's it. >> Okay. >> Kane. >> Played by Donnie Yen. >> So Kane is the blind, you know, if you know the John Wick universe. So he's he's fantastic. He's he's exceptional in that role and he's a legit martial artist. I don't know how much martial I know most action guys get martial artistry background. I know Ash has legitimate martial artist. >> He looks like he's a villain though. >> Yeah, he does. So I wonder I would love to know how much prep and how much uh >> also look at this cast. I don't know if it's true. safe aka moanlani >> uh and then some other people that we know. But I have Moanal and Bumman if they're still in it. >> I expected Bumman to appear, but it's to see Moanal in there is a really neat little surprise. >> That's fun. Um >> where are the ladies? Do we know any ladies in this cast? >> Her name looks familiar. >> Savani K. Any relationship to Anna Pal? Um, maybe not. I don't know. I don't recognize her. Goonar. Goonar. That's That's Rick Gooner. >> Say, "Yummy." [laughter] >> Says, "Uh, Sammy Car is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi and Tugu." >> Pause. Choked. I don't think we've seen her. >> Yeah. Let's see. >> I like her eyes though. She has nice eyes. >> Uh, no. Her her father Adviet K was a model. Mother >> anam >> wow mother won the feminimist India pageant. So she's got >> two apparently very attractive modeling and beauty pageent >> nepatism >> granddaughter of actress Usha Karen and the niece of actress Tanviasmi. >> Uh and this is the pre-adarian right? >> It is. Yeah that's the pre-adarian. >> Yeah. Uh, have we seen anything not comedy from him? >> 88 titles in directing, by the way. >> Wow. >> Jesus Christ. >> Wow. >> That's a lot of titles. >> Okay, let me see. Uh, he was the Yeah, that's a comedy. He might have done the >> He has probably has. We just have not seen it. We've only known him from >> comedy. I'm trying to see because I know his name, but I feel like it's all from >> He has a movie called Katamita. That's awesome. >> Dan, Dan, Dan. Yeah, we saw Oh, Belu. >> Oh, well, you're fun in SRK. >> Yes. >> So, yeah, we've seen that one. Great movie, by the way. >> Yeah. >> Bullen the I think he's the original director, too. [snorts] >> Uh, from the Molly one, >> Gur Masala, director, comedy again. >> Wow. >> Films. Hell yeah. Her Perry. >> Um, did he do the original? I feel like he did the original. >> I don't remember the original title because it's not something I can easily pronounce. >> Yeah, I feel like he did. Anyways, >> but I like that trailer by the way. That teaser was very cool. >> My only concern is and it's um I'm sure we'll get it sorted out in the trailer is that because obvious when I I was really obsessed with The Dark Knight when it came out. Uh I saw it nine times in theaters. >> What a shock. >> But the promotion of it, if you remember, the Joker was behind a glass thing, right? >> Yes. And he's he's holding his bank robbery mask in his hand, right? >> Yeah. Well, yeah. There was quite a few promotions, posters, iconic posters, by the way. >> Yes. Very. >> And so I that's immediate what my mind goes to. So anytime you see somebody's playing a psychopath, I'm like, "Okay, just do your own thing. Don't try to be the Joker because that will always come off." >> Correct. You never I know we say it a lot, but I maybe people that aren't actors or in the industry don't see it as much like it's just you can do your own thing and people appreciate it, but the minute you're like I see you trying to be the Joker or be Brando and the Godfather, [clears throat] >> it's like you just come off as an impression and that doesn't work in movies. No, because the objective is to be believable and be an actual character. >> And the moment you start to put on another character, you're not being believable. That's why among many reasons Haqen's Joker is so beautiful because he doesn't touch >> Heath. You don't need to. It's one of the reasons I like to in my acting family in workspace, I like to do things that I know really, really well that were done by other actors cuz that's a challenge all on its own. Like I did Silence of the Lambs. M >> I had to distance myself from Hannibal Lectar that I know I'm about to do Phantom Thread, which is Daniel D. Lewis, and myself from Daniel. That's a that is a challenge as an actor that you you need to embody it as your own thing. That's tough cuz we're so malleable and we love to impersonate. >> It's like imagine trying to do your own Captain Jack. >> I wouldn't. >> Right. How [snorts] hard would that be incredible >> to create your own version of Captain Jack? >> No. Yeah. I >> It'd be It's so hard. No, that that a character is so iconic. >> Yeah. Um but yeah, so like I'm not saying he he's gonna do an impression. That's just my only concern so far. But that I I don't even know if those scenes of him behind the glass or even in the movie if that was just for like the the teaser, >> right? >> Um and so when the trailer comes out soon, >> uh >> I got to say I'm looking forward to this. >> Looking forward to it. Obviously got a good director. You got a stellar cast here. I'm looking forward to seeing Ash in a villain role. That's great. Yes. >> Um, so hopefully it turns out it's on September 11th. I usually like to celebrate privately, but maybe we can make an exception here. >> Uh, celebrate. [laughter] >> Is that the word you want to use for that? >> We're going to I've never anybody hear anything about We're going to celebrate 911. >> Bush did 911. >> Wow. We're going to celebrate 911. >> No, no, no. I like to celebrate privately. Uh the the there are some people on the planet that do celebrate 9/11 privately. I don't know you [laughter] want to be associated with them, but that's okay. Corin will be watching 911 footage with popcorn. [laughter] Anyways, let us know what you thought about this, if you're excited for this, and anything else we need to know down below. >> The biggest, the [music] baddest, wackiest, funniest, filmiest show on earth.
