Hair fails that sent me into a spiral

Hello, beautiful. Will today be the day that I'm actually happy about a transformation, but we'll find out. What in the [ __ ] are we going to see today? I don't know. But what I do know is we'll probably see some bleach, some color, and some hair cutting. [ __ ] about to go down. And me, I'll be here watching the videos with you. >> Hey guys, welcome back to my channel. Today I'm ting up my hair. This is how my hair looks like currently. [music] It's not too bad. I feel like the colors have kind of mixed together [music] so it's not as like but obviously it's faded now as well. I just really need some change. We are trying to go silver/ white but pretty much as light as possible. And then I want to do [music] like black uh stripes and also like raccoon stripes. I've never done those before. So, I'm mixing the first round of bleach and I start applying it from my roots, which is something that you probably shouldn't do. That is just what works for me. >> We are applying to the whole head and god damn, we are just going in there with no rhyme or reason of how we're sectioning anything. Is just everywhere. We are just everywhere. That's the only word I can think of. Just everywhere. I try to section my hair to the best of my ability so I can apply the bleach evenly using a brush. >> My [ __ ] eye is twitching because what? Sorry, girl, but like what? You don't believe what you just said. You're sectioning it in order to get it evenly. Where? How? When? I don't see it. >> I go further down than just my outgrowth because I do have to bleach my whole head eventually. >> Why? >> I did the other two rounds of bleach off camera. Wait, why? She's dying her hair silver with raccoon tails. Holy [ __ ] >> On the second round, I focused on [music] the ends of my hair. And on the third and last round, I focused on wherever there was still yellowess left. >> Sorry guys, I'm so over simulated. I don't even know what to say right now. There are so many colors in her hair. It looks like she had calico hair, which actually looks really well done, and it's faded out, but it looked really well done. Um, and now she's going to go in and bleach everything. And then she's going to dye it silver with raccoon tails like it says in the title. Oh boy, that's going to be a lot of work. >> The brown hair dye that I had previously. Um, and then after I washed off the last round of bleach, [music] I used the purple shampoo all over my head to try to neutralize the yellow tones as much as I could. >> I have seriously never seen anybody do their color like this. Like she starts at the very top. She puts everything into the same bun as she goes down the head. It's very interesting. I guess it works, but it's definitely not going to be even. And if it is, well, [ __ ] me. >> Now, I move on to dyeing my extensions. I like to do a little test strand [music] first because I didn't know how well the hair dye would pick up uh on the human hair extensions. I also mixed it with just a little bit of the cheapest conditioner that I could find. [music] Uh, this makes the consistency of the hair dye a bit more liquid. In [music] my opinion, it's easier to uh spread. >> Okay, you know what's way easier than this? Fill up a bucket of hot water or a bowl. Put any color you want to use. Mix it into the water. Dip [music] the extensions in the water. You will get beautiful vivid color and super even color with just one dip. [music] It's so easy and fun. I use a brush to spread the hair dye and [music] then with my fingertips I really like massage the hair dye into the hair so it doesn't just sit on top of the hair but it goes like in there. >> Okay, the hair has been processed and we rinsed it out and this is the result. >> This is how my hair looks like after using all the three sets of bleach that I got. And then after the last set of bleach, I [music] used the purple shampoo. um is is a bit patchy. It's quite patchy. There's still a lot of yellowess. >> Well, of course it's patchy. We couldn't have thought it wasn't going to be patchy, right? There's a whole lot of [ __ ] going on. We got blue spots. We got blonde spots. We got orange. We got pink. We got O. We're going in with blue now, though. I didn't think we're doing blue. It said silver, but okay. >> This one patch [music] looks almost pink. Um but those are the areas where I had brown hair. Um, so I wasn't really able to get them fully out, but I'm hoping that I can cover [music] at least some of the yellowess with the silver hair dye. >> Sorry, I'm just like, what is all this blue? Why is it so blue? You're blue. >> I am. And again, I start from the roots. And [music] I use the brush and my fingertips to really get the hair dye in there. And trying [music] to apply it as evenly as possible. again with the evenness. Girl, I appreciate that you're trying, but like all you got to do with sign permanent color, it's the easiest ever. It's why I create it because it's easy and simple to use at home, and it's it's great. Clip up the top of your hair, start at the bottom, and just work it in with your hands. [music] You can then comb it through if you would like, and then you just work up the head. Go across with [music] your fingers. These things so much easier. You're doing it the literal most difficult way you can possibly do it. This is how my hair look like after dyeing it once with the silver hair dye. It looks really cute here already in my opinion. You can definitely see that it's not completely even, which is totally understandable. >> When she turned around, I was like, "Damn, that hair is thick as [ __ ] and I like that." But yeah, I mean, she knows it's not even at all. And definitely those pieces that were I think green before, no, they were blonde before are now silver because they've been slightly overprocessed compared to the rest of her hair. What happened with the blue? Apparently, it was just a blonde toner. The blue is gone now somehow. >> I'm trying to like kind of take advantage of the parts that I wasn't able to [music] get silver and put some black hair dye on those spots. So, I'm sectioning my hair using hair pins and just trying to protect [music] the areas that I don't want to get. >> Now, we're putting black in between the blonde hair. The issue with this is every time you shampoo your hair, that black will transfer onto the [music] blonde. It's one of the most difficult looks to have and to maintain black and blonde striped hair. It really never works. >> Um, yeah, this was really hard to film and even harder to like do overall. >> Yeah. And to do this yourself and get it on the hair without touching the rest of the blonde hair. Really hard. I just did these two strands first because I had no idea how the black direct dye would even pick up on such a light base. [music] But yeah, you need to be very careful. Even though it's a dark dye, it will still [music] stain. Um, so you need to really cover up all the hairs that you don't want to get the darker hair dye into. All right, we're doing some pretty random sections, it seems. Like one side has a little black strand over here. bottom has a black section, which I dig. I like that randomness, that creativity, the organicism, the organism of the organic vibe of it all. >> This is how the two strands [music] look like after just one coat of the black direct hair dye. I let them dry a bit more before doing another coat. >> This is the thing. You can't put black pigment over overprocessed blonde hair, or else it's going to look completely hollow. You can only go about two shades to three shades darker in one color process. So, you want to put that orangey copper red tone back in the hair before we then put the black on top. It'll make a way more saturated, beautiful, lustrous black tone. >> I think I did like three coats in total on all the black areas. Um, now I'm trying to do the raccoon [music] tails, which was really difficult. I used a brush first, but then [music] I moved on to just using my fingertips. >> My girl is just winging it. Okay. Yeah. I mean, we're going to do a raccoon tail. Thin slices horizontal. Lay a bit of foil down. Go on one thin slice and do your lines. Lay another thin slice on top. Same lines. Another thin slice on top. Same lines. There's one [ __ ] tail. Don't take a whole section of hair and start going like this cuz you will miss spots everywhere. It'll not be stripey like you want it >> because the hairs keep moving. So, it was really hard to uh get like straight stripes. So with my fingertips, it was a bit easier. When I washed off the black direct [music] eye, I had to be very careful that it wouldn't like bleed everywhere, especially with the raccoon tails. >> Steve, like she said, it's really hard to make them not bleed everywhere. Also, I would definitely apply semi-permanmanent color to dry hair. We want it to be porous and dry before we apply semi-permanent color lashes way better on to dry hair than wet hair. So, I would recommend drying it first. >> So, this is how my hair turned out. [music] I do really like it. It turned out better than I expected. Now, it's been, I think, pretty much a month since I dyed my hair. So, since like the last clips, as you can see from my outgrowth. In the beginning, uh my hair was a bit patchy and it was a bit hard to get my hair extensions to match my own hair, but now I'd say it's quite even, like not completely. I think it looks really good. 2 days ago, I just put the hair mask on my bangs. [music] Now, it matches the rest of my hair completely. And also the purple shampoo. That's also what I used. I hope that it doesn't look blueish on the camera now. And I'm really happy that I didn't go like bald or anything. >> Girl, how the [ __ ] did we get here? That's what we need to see. Yo, you have me shook. She did say she did some stuff off camera and like, yeah, that really helped because damn, it looks way more even. All those blonde sections actually look silver and all the black sections look really nicely black and the coonails look fierce and the makeup. Don't get me into it. Oh my god, I love it. This is so [ __ ] cute on you. I don't know what I like better, the little calico moment or this. I mean, they're both really fun and I love that you have as much fun with your hair and change things up. I don't know how you're going to move that black color in the future, but go off. It looks sick. Guys, somebody just sent me this video and I need you to see it. Oh my god. What the [ __ ] happened, guys? That's what gummy hair looks like. If you ever wonder what I mean by like gummy hair, well, no, you don't cuz you've seen it on this channel a million times, but this is probably the worst I've ever seen. Yo, I mean, good idea cutting it all off because there was no hope for that hair. So, basically what happened was I had a chemical reaction happen a few days prior, but my hair was fine, but then I bleached up with a 20 volume for like 10 minutes and it completely fried off. I don't know how that happens, but I'll trust you on that one. Oh my god. I mean, listen, girl, you slay the uh sort of buzzcut thing going on. I mean, you do need to buzz it. I think it would look really nice if you buzzed it is what I'm saying. Maybe just put another pink layer of semi-permanent color on [music] top. A deep conditioning Xondo color semi-permanent color on top. You can mix it with clear to make it into a pastel. Okay. And obviously you can get Xondo hair care and color at Sally Xondoair.com, Ulta Beauty Online, and Amazon. Oh my god, though. It is time to put down that bleach forever. That was [ __ ] I really want this to be like bleach and like a really light blonde or like even like a plot. I don't really know if that's realistic. So, let's just I'm just want to do a test strand. See how it looks. See if I can put the purple shampoo in it and see what color it turns out from there. Obviously, if it falls out, I'm not going to do anything. >> A test strand. That's crazy. Nobody ever does test strands. So, I'm excited about that. That's always a good idea when you're doing a bleaching process to make sure the lift you want you actually get before doing your entire head. >> My hair's like so oily because you're not supposed to wash it. I hate when you're like I haven't washed my hair in a week and it looks like [music] perfect. Like look at this. A bunch of [ __ ] Like actually nasty. >> Okay, the title says bleaching my hair to platinum blonde. So we're going platinum blonde which is really exciting. I think it'll look nice. I do though really like her current hair color. It is also quite nice, but I'm excited for the change. >> Getting really pissed off because everyone that I watch is American or from the United States of America and they have like that one like brand [ __ ] We don't got that here. Okay, she is applying the test strand right now. She has naturally light hair and her ends are already lightened. I'm kind of just more worried about those ends breaking off more than anything, not the naturally light roots. and her hair looks very healthy. So, let's see how this test strand came out. >> Hey, let's unbox this together. [music] It's approximately being like Okay, I'm not going to unbox it, but just going to check it. This is the secret of boooo color. So, I don't know why it's like that. So, it actually looks exactly the same. [applause] Looks exactly the same. That's cool. No, that's all good. >> Well, your ends were already light, so it's not going to change that much. Your roots though have lifted a few shades so that's always positive. [music] So, it is blonder. I like Look at this. Same sh. No, it's not the same [ __ ] You're doing a good job. Just stick with it. It also has only been 35 minutes, so keep processing this for about an hour. >> I'm just going to leave it for like another 10 and see what happens. Look, it's honestly just time. I don't really care anymore. It's been like it's actually been like so long. Like, it's been an hour since I last put it in. So, I don't really care. It's time. That like a lot lighter. Also, it literally feels fine. Like, >> you have very healthy hair to start with, so I'm not too worried about it breaking off. I feel like I'm going to say that and then watch her hair is going to break off. But I feel like I'm not worried. If she does this right, which is questionable if she does anything right in this video, which we're obviously not sure she's going to do, this could go really well and her hair could get really light because again, her hair is very light naturally, so just lifting this a few shades shouldn't be a big problem. >> It feels completely fine. This got me feeling some stuff away. I'm not going to lie. I'm blushing. [laughter] comparison to like what it was before. Wow, guys. I'm sorry. I changed the lighting cuz I'm on PM mode. I also realized I never actually showed you my hair looks like before. So, I'm just going to This is the Okay, we have obviously the dark on the top and the light on the bottom. We need to treat the top of her hair with a less strong developer than the bottom or we need to leave the bleach on longer on the top and less time on the bottom. It's a difficult situation, but she's probably just going to put bleach on her entire head and call it a day. the ends are going to end up lighter and she's probably going to break some of her hair off. So great. >> And I know it's not even like completely perfect, but like at this point I don't care. It's good enough for me. >> At this point, as in the literal start of doing the process, you don't care already. Awesome. Um, we just started, but she also didn't do the sectioning correctly, which is subjective, but she did only two sections, one on the bottom, one on the top, which I don't love to see. It doesn't really make your life that much easier. Four quadrants is the gold standard in my opinion and you should have done that t-shirt on. Also, I just separated [music] this into two sections as well. Just to be extra safe ski, I'm mixing up the bleach right now. I low key didn't get that much because I thought I don't know. I've never done this before. Okay, low key. I'm just putting the whole section in one foil. I love when people fold foils and crinkle them up. It's so [ __ ] fun to watch. I don't know which one I hate more, the crinkle foils or the [music] bleach bath, but they're both really [ __ ] annoying to see. Just put another foil on top instead of folding the up. >> Now I'm going to do the side. That took like 10 minutes. Look, there's bleach up there. So, >> oh baby girl, those are some big ass [ __ ] [music] sections. Why are they literally half of your head in one foil? >> Maybe it's chill. Maybe it's chill. It's chill. It's sure, >> guys. So, the bleach is all in the ends. Obviously, I left out the test strand. >> Why are we starting on the lightest parts of our hair first? Huh? What's going on here? >> Huh? >> What? You know, if you want to do this super correctly, I would say start an inch down from the root and lighten the darkest parts of the hair first, that kind of middle section. Wait until it gets nice and blonde for about 45 minutes and then you do the roots and then you pull some new lightener all through the ends and then hopefully at the end you get a nice even palette. >> I'm going to take this side out at 10:30 and I'm going to take this side out at 10:45. 1 minute of time. Wow. unboxing goes crazy, guys. >> Wow. Oh. >> Hey guys, tell me how the back looks. >> Actually, so far, not bad. I'm quite impressed with how decent this is coming out. Love to see it, but I don't understand how the [ __ ] this happened. It looks like she also still has her wave pattern, so that's good, too. >> Okay, cool. No, no, no, no. That's just amazing. What the [ __ ] is going on there as well? There's a little bit of a predicament. This is so [ __ ] Can you see what this is? >> I see it for sure. So, when you bleach unevenly near your root, what's going to happen is now you have no choice but to go and reapply to the already bleached bits. It's 1 in here of root, 2 in here, and so forth. That creates issues because we are going to overlap and you don't ever want to overlap when you're using bleach because that causes breakage. >> So guys, why is it looking like that? >> Cuz you did it like that. >> Getting >> wow. Oh, here we go. Great. We are overlapping everything. And for some reason, we didn't do our hairline, which is, I would say, the most important part of the whole look. Right back here. >> [music] >> It's burning. It's burning. It's burning. I think that's a good sign. >> Well, you washed your hair before applying to your scalp, which pissed me off. In the beginning, you said your hair is dirty so you can bleach it. But the whole point of having dirty hair is just that there's oils in your scalp to protect it from the bleach so it doesn't hurt. But you only bleach your ends and then you washed it and now you're applying to the scalp. That's actually the opposite of what should have happened. So >> she said do this best. So I'm doing it now cuz it's nearly the last >> girl. We are >> the rest of my head. I'm going to have to um buy more developer cuz I bought the small bottle. This is burning so badly. Perfect. No. No. That's perfect. Check for me, guys. Just check for me. Make sure it's all good. All goods. All goods. It's definitely blonde. She doesn't have a whole lot of color on that hair, does she? It is quite see-through, which I hate to see because we want it nice and creamy, rich, thick, a thick layer of creamy whiteness on the hair. It's definitely not. It's been about 40 minutes. Okay, guys. So, I just showered. This is the orangess of it on. Okay, it's wet, but it's not that bad. Just going to shove a bunch of the [ __ ] in it. Leave it for like an hour. the edges. Hair did not bleed. >> We didn't bleach the edges of the hair, which again, most important part, the perimeter of the hair. Even when a hair stylist says this, we check the perimeter like eight times before we're done because you don't want to [music] miss that part. It is right in the front of the head. Second of all, let's not [ __ ] tone with purple shampoo. It is a maintenance product, you guys, not a full-on toner. I >> think that's okay because like obviously this hair is going to come down. Just bleach them [music] then. Not be bothered to wait for it to dry. Like midnight. It's like 12:30 at this point. So, I'm just going to [ __ ] send it. >> Now, listen. Why do we have only half of our head bleached? Is she just doing the underneath or are we doing this in two parts? [music] What? I'm sorry. I don't know what happened, but all I'm going to say is don't get bleach in your eye because my god, how am I supposed to go out? I have to go out today. >> She already [ __ ] up her eye with bleach. What? >> It's giving us some mouth for you, right? So, looks kind of looks pretty wide. Like, >> pretty wide, right? >> Honestly, I'm going to come forward and be honest. It looks pretty [ __ ] good. I don't see many issues. I can't see it that up close, so I don't really know if there's issues. But from far away, it looks to be okay. >> Yellow like a little bit like someone pissed on me. I have to go out today, so I guess I'm going out like this. This looks like normal. I'm not even going to lie. It looks pretty normal. And then you go, >> "Wow." >> Around my edges. It's like kind of [ __ ] Yeah, but it's kind of messed up here. Of course, the mother [ __ ] edges of her hair are dark as and they look crazy. Well, how do we get everything else right but those [ __ ] edges? What? >> Y already know what's up. It's time to do the next part of my head. We got some new products. So, I got this hair mask. I've had this one previously. Not much to say about the quality. Like, it's a hair mask. two of these silver toner live color. It looks fine. It doesn't have the pictures on the side which worries me because visual learner if you know what I mean. That's a bit of an issue. Why am I deep this? It's not an issue. Like I bought two boxes cuz this box is small and like I have to buy another bottle of developer even though because because like just enough for like this. All right, we broke out the bleach and more 20 volume and we're about to go to town on the top of his head. Hopefully it comes out a little bit better than the bottom and we actually do the perimeter of the hair this time. >> First things first, I feel like narcissist malfun. I know it's wrong. I know this is wrong. I can feel it in my bones. It's really hard because I actually can't see properly. >> [music] >> I'm so angry. That was so hard. But we learn and we grow and we move on. And now we're moving on. I just realized that I left like a little bit. I'm going to have to get that. Guys, it's been fixed. And I was lucky just thinking how thick my hair is because y'all can't you guys can't notice. I got a whole man bun underneath this. If you're wondering why I did it like this, it was basically because I wasn't even going to bleach the top part. I was actually just going to make the bottom blue, but then I realized that the top is really dark and like want it to be platinum blind. Girls trying to foil the back of her head without even being able to see the back of her head. Horrible idea. Do not do this. Really, you can just apply the bleach with your hands. Put the bleach on your hands. Go like this all through the section. You can comb it through. Starting at the bottom, working your way up and being very gentle with it. And then boom, foil. Boom. Foil on top. So much easier. >> This is what we're up to so far. Um, time is actually 9:02. I'm going to show you the strap. So, basically, paint it on to the floor. >> Okay. I'm glad she's painting on the foil first. That will help get the underneath of her hair. If she kind of missed something on the underneath of her hair with bleach, at least we have lightener on the bleach before we apply the color on the top. I like that. >> Grab the flannel. Put it up. >> It's a big section. >> So cool. You can't even see. Put on the bottom. You know, some coverage on the bottom. Make sure this is really covered. And then you just actually put more on the bottom because it's not covered enough. You just loop it like that. And then you wipe the excess on your shirt. [laughter] >> And then you wipe the excess on your clothes. I love that. That's her direction. >> And we're just going to close it like this. And then we're just going to fold it in. Okay. Honestly, I'm pretty impressed with that technique. Hopefully, it's enough lightener in those foils that the lightener will expand and get on all of the hair strands. Sometimes it can do that. So, hopefully there's enough in there. Otherwise, she's going to have spotty bleached [ __ ] upness going on in her head and she's going to have dark spots everywhere. >> That's it, guys. Mixed up more bleach. It's looking so beautiful. I don't have that much left. Hopefully I have enough for the roots. Sorry guys. I'm in my room first and foremost. Okay, I took out the backpack on because I've been in for an hour, but I'm pretty sure not even going to do anything if I leave I got a foot cramp. I don't think it's going to do anything if I leave it on for longer. Okay, she has tons of foils in her hair. And again, guys, don't forget she had dark roots and then light [clears throat] ends, and we're bleaching it all at once. So, the ends are always going to be lighter than the roots at this point because we're treating them all the same. I don't really get that logic with you guys. Everybody seems to do this where they treat everything the same as if the light parts won't get [music] lighter. Like, as if the hair just like stops processing at some level. But we all know that hair breaks. So, why do you guys think that if your hair is already blonde, you can just apply more bleach to it at the same time as brown hair, and it all just ends up being the same color? I'm not getting it, but let me know. Otherwise, though, looking pretty good. Love this foil job she did. Looking fabulous. And the sections she took out actually look quite saturated and beautiful. We're off to another good start here with the top section. >> But I need to leave these ones on for like finish at 9:40. [music] So, so I'm going to wash out like all this, but I'm just going to leave these two contextures until like 10:30. Also, I nearly got bleached my eyeball. Or I did. I don't know. So, I've taken out the back. Now, it's time to take out something. Ready? She's a little big. Wow. Wow. To see if it's stretchy. Mine is not stretchy. Wait, it kind of is. >> [laughter] >> It does look a tiny bit stretchy, but it is kind of to be expected when you let 20 volume sit on your hair in foils for a long time. You just need to make sure it doesn't get past the stretchy point to the point where it's like gummy cuz then you're [ __ ] Then your hair literally will come out. That's not good. Let's make sure you build this back up with proteins and bond boosters and all kinds of good stuff like Ollex, Kine. >> Good sectioning. Good job, POV. Just saying good job to yourself. Method is really pissing me off because tell me why that looks like that. >> Ah, I see. It couldn't all go right. It never does. Um, yeah, the underneath of the hair is spotty. That's because we did not apply enough lightener. Guys, when we do it professionally, we're literally going side to side aggressively on the hair with so much lightener. Once we kind of go like this and get everything covered, then we go another time and put even more bleach on top. That's when you know you covered everything. Oh, >> really long patches. Like, what the [ __ ] Like, how did I miss spit? >> And guess what? Once those patches are in the hair, they're there. It's almost impossible for you to do this at home and get these out. And if you went to a professional, they would charge you so much money to get this patchiness out of your hair. That's the reason why we have to do it right in the first place. >> Ow. Why is that dog? cuz I've never applied of bleach. >> So, it's like pretty much dry. >> I love a good shade of piss yellow. You guys know that. >> Blonde. Happy birthday. Oh my god, the aggressive brushing of the hair. Oh my god, you guys. Girls need to learn how to brush their hair. If any of you watching right now ever brushes your hair like this again, [music] I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm going to somehow take your brush away. Please don't do that. When it's wet, spray [music] a detangling conditioning mist like Hydri or a cream conditioner or any leave-in product that makes your hair conditioned. Okay? Work from the bottom up. Do not [ __ ] up your hair. >> No. >> Guys, that's actually not No, no, no, no, no. >> Oh, babe. There is major dark spots everywhere. This is what happens when you don't apply enough color. >> How did that happen? I was so thorough. What do you mean, guys? >> No, you weren't. >> Why is this blue? It's like really white. Wait for it to dry all the way so I can actually find out where I need more [music] bleach. Guys, I've kind of sectioned out my hair. I've put a little bit of a um hair mask in this one because this one doesn't need any touch-ups and it's like really naughty. It's really hard to section out because it's just so naughty. Like on to the front. I'm like dying all my baby hairs [music] and [ __ ] Okay, now we're doing the roots. And I don't know what we're doing with those spots, but I think she's just bleaching over them again, which stresses me out. We're just overlapping again on the hair that was already bleached. Let's hope they didn't fall out. This I'm actually so tired of this [ __ ] This is genuinely taking me 2 days, guys. Last section. Last section. >> Your hair is like 24 in long. This is going to take a long time to do. This is a huge job. Like, if you went to the salon, this would have taken an entire day or multiple days. like you're actually making good time here. Plus, you're cleaning up your mess a little bit, and I like to see that with these dark spots. >> Currently 1:11 a.m., guys, I legit started this at like 7:30. Has been on for like an hour. I'm not going to lie. I'm going to shower. I'm going to wash this out. If you put just pure pigment on one single spot and then you move it around everywhere else, that pigment can still attach deeper in that one spot you apply [music] to first. I'm going to bleach the front parts of my hair, just like money pieces, I guess, and dye them. But before I do that, I'm going to cut my bangs. I've just been missing them a lot. [music] So, you don't want to pull it down because your hair doesn't live stuck to your head like that. It lives with that volume there. So, cut it with the volume. You get the point? And I think we're doing something like trying to thin them out a little bit. >> I think I'll just do like an initial cut and then bleach and dye it. And then if I need to cut it more, I'll cut more. I don't want it going into my eyes. I'm going to kind of cut into it. I like choppy looking bangs. >> I feel like this is unnecessary. This side's almost so much easier than the other side just because I'm right-handed. I tried to become ambidextrous when I was a child, but I just couldn't commit to it. It's hard to tell if they're too thin [music] because my hair is greasy. >> Well, we were just thinning them out. If you feel like they're too thin, why are we thinning them? You know what I mean? >> So, you know, when it's clean, it'll look fuller, but I might still need to add more to the bangs. And then they also sent me color remover wipes, which is great because I always end up getting dye all over my skin. So, that'll be good. And then they also sent me a bowl and gloves and a brush. So, I'm going to section where I'm going to bleach. I want to do part of my bangs and then it'll go into like the rest of my hair in just like a small section in the front. I think I'm going to do this here. It's kind of hard with my glasses. Maybe I should wear contacts for this. >> All right. She's doing a questionable job at sectioning [music] up the bangs with the side of her hair, but she's getting somewhere. So hopefully she doesn't do that. In this case, we should definitely do mids and then roots once the mids and ends have processed and gotten really light blonde. >> Maybe I feel like 20 is best for the roots, but what do I know? And then there's two packs of powder [music] bleach. I don't even have bleach on my hair yet. I don't know why I'm holding that so close to my face. Okay, I'm mixing it now. So, this is not exact. I feel like I should refresh all of them. I know that that's something that you should do cuz the bleach dries out and then it stops working. If you're super scared about your hair breaking, you feel like it's been on too long, do the pull test. That's when to do the pull test. When it's already been a long amount of time, but you need to leave it on longer to make it really blonde. Do a little simple pull test. If it's still strong, leave it on for longer because your hair is not light enough. It is orange. >> As light as it should be. I'd rather have it be a little bit darker and keep it healthy or as healthy as possible than lighter and more damaged. >> Now, you guys often forget the part where you're supposed to pull the foils out and then apply on the roots. And this is a great opportunity to recheck your sections when you're applying to the root with the bleach still on the ends because we don't want to wash the hair and then do the roots. That just creates more steps that are not necessary. Bleach is kind of burning my eyes just like the fumes from it. Okay, now I'm going to do the roots with the rest of the bleach. It's still not even at all, but uh it's it's fine. I was trying to cover like this part of my hair to see what it would look [music] like if I was completely blonde. >> Not bad. >> I don't know if I can get an accurate representation from doing this. I'd like to have blonde hair at some point. Just once. I would love to try every hair color once. >> Super gloss 7C copper would look so good on you. Oh my god. So, it turns out I did have another pair of gloves, but I'm kind of glad I didn't use it for the bleach cuz now I can use it for the dye. Okay, so I bought Sorry for the noise of the gloves. I bought hot purple. I'm going to mix it with a little bit of conditioner [music] just to dilute it a little bit. I don't want it to be like a pastel color. Also, I don't think I'd be able to even get pastel color cuz my hair isn't white enough. Purple is going to be fabulous if it can cut through all this yellow and then deposit purple on top, which means it has to be a very pigmented cool tone purple. So, we'll see. >> Kind of reddish burgundy color, but I wanted to do something different than I've done in the past cuz I've pretty much only done red. But I also chose purple because what I really want to do is have this all be [music] silver or gray, I guess. And I feel like purple would be the best color to do cuz hopefully when [music] it fades out, it will just neutralize the yellow in my hair. I don't know if that's going to work out the way that I think it is. Um I'm just being hopeful. So, we'll see. I have this hair mask. [music] It's like an overnight hair mask. I think that should be okay to use for this uh to dilute it. So, I'm going to put some of that in there. Oh, I just realized I should have put the mask, the face mask on my skin again. At least I have the wipes. >> That's looking deep purple. I love to see it. Yes. >> I used to hate the color purple. >> You guys love using brushes with colors. I don't even tell you to do that and you you just always do it. These things do a lot of good work. Okay, I got to tell you they are really useful. I liked the color purple and then I hated it and now I like it again. I think once I got into like whimsical fashion and makeup, I started liking it. I think even with the conditioner, this is going to be pretty bright purple. Okay, let me just kind of massage it in to make sure that it's over everything. All right, I think that should be okay. >> All right, she's finishing applying that purple color and it's looking fabulous and very deep. [music] And I'm just hoping her hair is porous enough to really grab onto that purple, suck it in, and be vibrant and turn into a beautiful purple wonderland on her head. >> I would love to dye the rest of my hair black, but I just want to grow it out fully until the red's all out. I don't want to put any dye on top of the red. I mean, I already am with this, but it's just such a small section. I don't think it matters. And it's like just at the end of it. But yeah, I think the purple would look even better with black hair. I'm going to leave this on for like 45 minutes. >> All right, let's see the results. >> Really happy with my hair. I do like it, but I do agree. Definitely needs the other side purple as well. Something looks off. On top of that, I would color the rest of your hair a really dark black color. Like I think that would look so cool with the purple and black together. It would look fierce and so gothic and cool and sick and I would love it. But it's fun and I feel like it enhanced your look in some way.
