H-1B in 2026: Can You Still Get a Job in the US?

There's so many scary news about H1B visa immigration and everybody is very freaked out regarding are we still able to land a job in the US on H1B on visa is US is still a friendly company for everyone to move to and I totally understand all those struggles on worry happened to many of your audience who is watching this video right now today I'm going to break down whether you're still able to land a job on H1B in US and is US still a welcome country for everybody to get started with a freedom and opportunities his promises. Now regarding H1B and immigration, first of all, let's understand the legitimacy of those H1B immigration news. Yes, it is true. Recently there are so many news just happened. For example, Trump just proposals over $100,000 in terms of fees for people to process H1B every year. On top of that, they also do not allow different school transfer when you're on different visa. And they do not allow second degree. They do not allow second masters. you need to keep on advancing your education in the US without just jumping into different schools. So all this on the surface sounds like quite challenging for any immigrant just like you and me. However, what I want you to know is that those kind of $100,000 per year H1B fees is just a proposal. it hasn't been approved and accepted put into effect [music] and lots of things that Trump proposed is just a news and more likely he trying to influence a midterm election. uh try to get in as much policy as possible before he was replaced and because this actually backfire him he is going so right now even Florida we turn become blue states because more and more people feel this too extreme and people swing towards blue nowadays and I spent 17 years to become US citizen and 11 years to get my green card so the entire 17 years in the US I have seen the journey of swing pendulum through very right and very left and it always comes back because depends on different election how it goes once it become blue everything become very loose and all the immigrants coming in so therefore I want you guys to really understand lots of things you see is for political election purposes and it hasn't put in effect and even they put in effect there's a way to get around it [music] legally and especially those H1B rules are actually hurting all the big tech companies and think about it if big tech company do not hire people on H1B where you find those software engineers, AI engineers, AI product managers and those tech companies going to go out of business tomorrow literally. So this will not be the case. It will not get approved get passed at all. And I have a separate video where I talk about my 17 years journey become US citizen. I'm also going to link this video in the description of this channel. Second thing we want you to focus on is what you can control. Yes, you cannot control who's your president. You cannot control who votes yes or no to different immigration policies. You cannot even control what Trump need to do next year or in the future. But what you can control is how to be the best candidate. How to present you in front of interview and really land those high paying job offers. [music] Because nowadays our student inside a PM accelerator, most of our student own H1B visa. We all need sponsorship and I know all tons of different kind of visa sponsorship challenges and tips and tricks our student have used to secure the job offer. So I seen firsthand most of the student who need H1B sponsorship they can still land those high paying job offer in big tech companies getting paid half million dollars. >> And you may ask oh lots of people do not sponsor H1B. >> You're wrong. I telling you a lot of BT tech company they sponsor H1B. The problem is you're not able to get into those Google Meta Amazon who actually sponsors the top candidate. The second thing is even small company like my own company PMS we sponsor H1B too. We also sponsor OPT and OPT extension all type of visa even my very small company I sponsor H1B as well because as a founder I know how valuable people on H1B are. They have unique skill set. They work really hard and myself an immigrant myself. Why not helping others too? So a lots of big tech companies sponsor HMBB. Lots of small businesses they also sponsor H1B as well. You just need to find out how to find those people which are going to break down the tips and tricks instead number four later on of this video. Now before the tips and tricks I do want to solve the fundamental issue which is a lots of candidate who are on showb today applying for jobs they are not able to lend any interviews or job offers at all even if you have a green card and you are US citizen it was because your resume is not ready your skill set is not ready you don't know how to present yourself so this is totally on you I want to give you a bet tomorrow I want you apply for jobs and saying that you don't need H1B sponsorship see how many jobs and offer you interview opportunities in reality even if you're a citizen you're still able to land a job to be frank so therefore let's focus on how you can improve yourself be the top 1% candidate that normal American candidates not able to do the job that's how you are able to qualify for H1B to begin with lots of people is even worse than US citizens how you're able to be better than them so let's focus on at least be the same as US candidate and also be even better so when most candidate apply for PM perhaps majority of résumés are missing the PM keywords and didn't structure the resume in the right way. The third thing I want you to focus on is look for long-term success as the right mindset. Life is a school. Life is a marathon. Everything we see right now all the ups and downs are all temporary because economy can be good, can be bad, job market can be good and bad is always comes in a circle. But most importantly, you need to give a promise to yourself is that why do you want to live in the US and find a career and life and long-term [music] success in the US? In my personal opinion, US is the best country, the most great opportunities and freedom for everybody create for themselves if you put in the effort. It's the most fair country for everybody out there. [music] And US is also the land of immigrant. This is only country actually will come immigrant. If you go to China, any other countries, they really send all the immigrant away regardless you got a PhD or you're better than other people. It is actually most welcoming country compared with other countries also give you way more opportunity to advance yourself. For example, I moved to US with only $800 in my pocket and my family was actually very poor back in China. Even today, I'm still sending money back to China help my parents. My dad actually only makes $300 per month. It is really hard for him to leave a good life in China and including myself. So I always ask myself if I didn't move to the US 17 years ago, what would life [music] would be in China? Literally, there's no opportunity for people like me. Because in China, as a loss of corruption, you know who's who. Even if you work really hard, you don't get opportunities. Seriously, if I do what I do, exactly coaching business is what I do. I'm not able to be who I am right now. and I'm not able to become a direct product within four years in China even if I'm a Chinese citizen in the US I was able to show my achievement the result bring for the customers the revenue I generate for my companies and then that got me the fast promotion I don't need have a rich dad I don't need know who's who to really show off my talent as long as I continuously to improve myself and invest into myself so therefore US is the best country and land of freedom and opportunities and most fair country for people who want to wake work hard and create a brand new life and advance a career and even better you're creating a better life for yourself for your kids for the next generation for better education more clean air literally the air is more clean in the US and China a lots of great advantages we can have here and the opportunities given for people who knows how to control the destiny and work hard and invest into in themselves and not to mention China that actually I have lots of student from India Many of my Indian student told me that even if they at US educated and several of them after they moved back to India, they says even harder to learn a job in India because in India there's way more people who are into technology, AI or AI part management. The competition is 10 times worse than the US. Therefore, you need to make decision. Are you willing to put in the effort to stay in the US conquer all the challenges? I also totally understand it's very very scary to continue push through all the challenges and also invest in yourself. However, I have a personal story I left to share with you guys. Number one, as I mentioned earlier, when I moved to US, I only have $800 in my pocket and I got a scholarship as this PSU student getting paid $1,400 per months for three and a half years. At the time, little young Nancy have really big dream. My dream is actually become the CEO of Fortune 5ure companies. So therefore instead be scared the fact that I really do not have money at all I decided to like study CFA and took CFA exam which is a certified financial analyst. I also invest eight over $8,000 uh into public speaking skills because I asked myself reverse engineer what does a CEO of a fortune financial companies need to have and what the skill set she need to invest early in her career. Of course, those different knowledges [music] beyond doing research, those business knowledge, public speaking skills, all those that he or she need to learn early and invest early as well. So therefore, instead of wait until age 40, oh let me try to become CEO of the next Fortune companies and I start to invest in myself in age 21, 22, 23, learn all the skills early so that it accelerate my career and help me become a director product within four years. I literally remember when I managed other P measures as a group P measure everybody reporting to me they all Caucasian man and some of them actually are like their son their kids as old as me is that scary crazy but I work on all those important skills early so I earned the seat to manage people who are older than me more successful more experienced than me but I my own unique contribution being able to manage a team generate over 100 medium public private partnership contract for my company. I earn my seat. They reward me with my leadership role as a director product. If I had just took a easy route going back to China or if I hadn't invest into those public speaking [music] skills and other business skills earlier in my career during my PhD years, I would never be given this opportunity to be able to manage other people as a director product. I also went to 2008 recession. I remember the time my friends just left us went back to China because it's easier to land a job in China during 2008 recession but I made decision to stay and invest myself for long-term success and my friend who actually left the US was just leaving the old life we imagine where everyone is living which is they live in Shanghai and the house in Shanghai is even more expensive than the houses in Boston and in US in Miami the income is 17th of US salary but you need to pay so much more money to live in the same lifestyle you have. If I had went back to China to the easy route few years later, I'm not able to live comfortably in what I have right now. So therefore, you and me need to go through all the political shift only for two more years until Trump is no longer president. So we're going to rise up to the wave and focus on our long-term success and build a happy life in the US. Number four, let's talk about tips and tricks for H1B hacks. By now I assume you and me make decision. We need to try really hard to conquer all the challenges improve ourself to be the top candidate get hired by US companies. So now how exactly to land a job on H1B? Here's a tips and tricks I want to share with you. Number one, you should look up company who in the past hire people who look like immigrant before because you already know all the H1B strategies and different lawyers in place and they have all the resources to hire someone like you because they just hired another guy a months ago. Number two, when you first time apply for any jobs out there, I invite you test the water to understand it is really a trend issue or your skill set, your capability or your resume issues. For example, when you apply the jobs, do just say you don't mean H1B sponsorship in your job application so that you're not going to be automatically rejected by the system. And then C if you're invited for interview, I guarantee you even if you tell them you have green card, you're US citizen, your resume is not selected for any interviews or at least most of the jobs will not pick you for those interview [music] opportunities. It was because most of your resumes, LinkedIn branding, product portfolio, many of things are missing to be selected for interview regardless you're on visa or you're US citizen. So after test out you understand the true reason cannot land an interview. So I invite you focus on fixing a resume part portfolio. The third strategy you can try it which is offer to pay for H1B fees because first of all the real H1B application fee is only a few thousand dollar. I [music] truly believe the $100,000 like proposal is not get passed at all because all the big tech companies is going to freak out. So if you offer to pay for those H1B fees and then the employers is not going to have any overhead to hire you compared with any other American as long as you prove to them that you are as good even better than American candidates. Number four which is only work in the domain in high demand that cannot be replaced by AI. For example, one highly recommend job is AI product management job. If you look up today's job opening, 46% of the product management job opening are AI product managers. Actually nearly half AIPM, which means the entire market is shifting towards AIPM. But two years ago is only 10% now is 46%. So AIPM is in higher demand. They cannot hire as many AIPM as before. And then most candidates do not even have any hands-on AI product management experience. So therefore you should laser your focus into the job that definitely is in high demand paying lots of money but and is also not going to be get replaced by AI. Fourth tips is that you can also start to work on 01 visa to stay in the US because I have a student launched several successful AI product also AIPM boot camp and use that opportunity to apply for O1 visa. For examp graduate from AI product management boot camp and instead of getting a new job, he was able to create a million dollar company and signed another big contract with a $20 [music] billion enterprise customers. Now he hired a team of 15 people working for him. He no longer need a job because he created a job for himself and create more job for other people. with that he was able to create different kind of visa opportunity for him to move to UK to different countries and or even get a visa in the US if he likes to and he's just one example I have other student doing the same thing leveraging the real life product they have launched in inside AI product management boot camp to apply for O1 visa there's so many paths you guys are able to try it out you just be smart and be better than average American to use the legal way to stay in the US as I mentioned AI product management is a highly uh regarded profession that was a lots of H1B sponsorship opportunities.
