GOP Voters Suddenly Realize Trump is Bad After Diesel Hits $6 a Gallon

I'm a Republican, but you know what pisses me off more than anything is when the people that I vote for sell me out for globalist on the other side of the world who want to have global police state and use our resources, our men and women of our military and our wealth to fund it. This right here is a direct result of bad policy that was put in place by Republicans that I voted for. That's shameful for me to say. And I hope that uh like me, you remember in November who did this. You just heard from Robbie Smither, a Trump voter and lifelong Republican who recently came to the realization that Trump is bad now that diesel hits $6 a gallon. And I guess it's just interesting to me that this is the strat that broke the camel's back for him and not 17 million Americans losing their healthcare or human rights abuses at the hands of the ICE Gustapo or the bombing of a little girl school in Iran. Nonetheless, he says that he's had enough and he's done with Republicans, writing on Twitter that he's voting for the Democrat David Jolly over Byron Donald's in Florida's gubernatorial race. And he's so pissed off he may also vote for Democrat Kathy Caster over Republican Mike Beltran in the congressional race that's taking place in Florida 16th because quote Mike for whatever reason has made Donald Trump his identity in this race instead of the principal conservative independence that set him apart in Tallahassee. And it's just amazing to me how gas prices can get someone to rethink their entire world view. And it makes you wonder what would happen if diesel hit $10 a gallon. Would he join the DSA? Would he call on workers to seize the means of production if it hit $15 a gallon? Like how far would he go if it hit $20 a gallon? It's hard to say, but I have a hunch that his political orientation hinges entirely on things that directly affect him. So, if he were feeling the squeeze a little bit more, I'd venture to guess that he would re-evaluate his worldview out of his own self-interest, and I don't think that that's an unreasonable prediction, seeing as how so many Trump supporters across the country are doing that same thing right now, especially farmers, because they're the ones who are disproportionately affected by higher gas prices. >> Tell me what your uh your bill was, your fuel fuel bill last month. Just for last month, it was $18,000 for one one 30-day period. >> And what would it have been 2 three years ago? >> Probably 10,000. >> So, it's almost double. >> Almost. Yes. >> And what do you put that down to? Whose fault is that? >> [sighs] >> Uh there's lots of factors, but obviously the main one is what we're facing every day with the Iranian situation. >> These high diesel fuel prices couldn't have come at a worse time. >> Hardly any farmers have fuel on hand for this fall. >> The last time I bought diesel fuel was in 2025, a year ago for the crop, and that was $229. I hope this is not the long-term new level of diesel fuel prices. >> I voted for Trump's but I've done lost because there's no reason for this these fuel prices and the cost of living been this high. >> Truck truck's going to sit there and rot now until uh this idiot president is out of office. I voted for him and I'm so sorry I voted for him. I would never thought I would say this. I miss Joe Biden. >> Our fearless [ __ ] leader, Chump, Trump the Chump, now has pissed me off to the point where I want him out of office right now. Um, I voted for him, but the [ __ ] has gone clean off the edge. We're dying out here and most of us we feel as if you really don't give a [ __ ] and you're listening to too many of these allies and honestly they don't give a [ __ ] about us and you should be focusing on your citizens here. You're the chief and commander of this great nation. It's the highest standard. It takes a lot. It's a huge load on your shoulder. Um, we're worried you're not built from that kind of cloth to be the chief and commander. And as a United States Marine veteran, I I'll tell you, us veterans, we're not [ __ ] happy. We're not happy with this leadership. >> I probably shouldn't say this, but if I had a magic wand to make the gas prices for those people in particular go up even higher, I'd do that. I'd turn the knob all the way the [ __ ] up because we all know that they're going to go right back to their old selfish fascist ways the second things get a little bit better. And we really need to make sure that the economic trauma that they're feeling right now endures so that way they stop voting for Republican fascists for the rest of their lives. But the only way that their momentary clarity is ever going to become permanent is if Trump's presidency truly does become unforgettable in the worst possible ways. Because think about it, everybody hated Bush by the time he left office. But it wasn't because he gave tax cuts to the rich or because he slaughtered hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis. It was because the economy crashed when he was in office and the party in power always gets blamed for economic downturns. But his approval rating has actually improved since he's been out of office because Americans apparently forgot what it was like to feel that fear and uncertainty that they felt during the 2008 Great Recession. So based on that, it seems like the only way to permanently get these kinds of voters to turn against Republicans for a generation is for there to be a crisis on par with the Great Depression. And that's really sad because if this hypothesis is true, then it tells us that things still have to get worse before they get better. Shameless corruption and war crimes and seeing the ICE Gustapo murder Americans in broad daylight still isn't enough for them. They're still going to go back to Donald Trump and Republicans the second gas prices go down. And the reason why people are so selfish is because our capitalist society has conditioned them to not [clears throat] care about anybody but themselves. because they were taught that selfishness is a virtue. And we see the same sentiment being expressed by regretful Trump voters no matter the issue really. I mean, gas prices is one issue, but take data centers as another example and listen to why this lifelong Republican in particular is finally thinking about changing the way that he votes once and for all. >> Dave Low lives right by the proposed data center in Red Oak and told us he's a lifelong conservative Republican. >> Are you thinking about voting differently? This is the first time in in my adult life where there's been an issue that's come up that I feel like is going to directly impact me. >> And that's what it's always about at the end of the day. Numero uno. Me. No matter what, [ __ ] everybody else. And look, I get it. Politics is personal and people often vote out of self-interest. But it's just sad that they can never put themselves in the shoes of someone else or even think about doing that. They don't care if somebody else is suffering at the hands of the government that they voted for. They just care about suffering when it affects them. And I doubt that that guy in particular has ever felt any sympathy for the Haitians who lost their temporary protected status or never thought about how tragic it was that parents have had to move across the country to protect their trans kids because of the GOP's laws. The world revolves around them. So they never ever think about how the party that they support affects other people negatively. They truly believe that they're the main characters and nobody else matters. the entire world can [ __ ] die, but as long as they're still okay and their life is relatively comfortable, they're fine. They're going to be okay. They couldn't care less. And this selfishness, it's so embedded in American culture at this point that I don't know how you get people to see themselves as part of a collective unless you subject every single [ __ ] American to mandatory re-education. Like, it's just so ingrained in our DNA at this point that it's hard to unbrainwash this population that has been thoroughly mindfucked by capitalism. But to go back to Robbie Smither, the guy who we heard from at the beginning of this video, his video went viral and it really seemed to strike a nerve with MAGA. And I want to show you how the Chuds, who are still on the Trump bandwagon, tried to win him back. Derek Evans, a former state lawmaker in West Virginia, empathized with him, saying, "I'm upset about the fuel prices, but I will not vote for a Democrat." And he also uses Robbie's post as proof that gas prices are in fact getting people to cross the aisle for Democrats, which is apparently something that fellow maguds don't want to hear because, you know, cognitive dissonance. Now, conservative influencer Rich Barers took a similar approach to Derek, writing, "Bro, I get it. They [ __ ] you for the war lobby when those neocon pieces of [ __ ] didn't win these elections, but they killed Charlie, so [ __ ] them." This person took a more confrontational approach, writing, "So what you're saying is that you are a socialist and love that way of life." To which Robbie responded, "Nope. I'm okay with divided government over what we have now. Is that plain enough for you?" Now, another person chimed in saying, "You can't say you're against big government, then vote for Jolly. Sorry." And then Robbie just kind of turned that back on him. But the most popular response came from former lawmaker and accused pedophile Matt Gates, who tried to level with Robbie, writing, "Bro, we need your vote. I hate the war, too, but the Democrats want to trans your kids." Yes, because we all know that Matt Gates of all people cares a lot about protecting children. Now, even though his dumbass brain deadad take was ratioed into oblivion, I saw a lot of other replies from conservatives basically making the same point. And they're making this point because unfortunately it works. These people are stupid and that stupid argument works on these stupid people. But if Robbie were smart enough, he'd realize that Matt Gates thought that that was a good pitch because he thinks Robbie is stupid. That type of pitch is indistinguishable from when I was a child and my mom would try to get me to stay in bed by saying if I get up again, the monster under my bed is going to eat me. Like that's only supposed to work on children. But the fact that grown adults are using that same type of logic to get other adults to do what they want really speaks to the childish mentality of the modern-day conservative movement. And when people like Matt Gates say that they're going to trans your kids, do they ever stop to question what that even means? Like, do they honestly believe that Democrats are going to go to your kids' school and inject them with a gender shot and your little boy is going to come home from school as a little girl if you vote for Democrats? Like, do they actually believe that? I asked that while remembering that these same people believed that North Carolina was hit with a hurricane gun by Democrats in 2024 to stop Trump from winning. So, I guess I kind of answered my own question. These are the dumbest people in the world and they will believe anything, right? Like, we should all just go to the polling booths. This would be illegal, but in the event we went to the polling booths and said, "Hey, if you vote for the Democrat, I'll give you a cookie and you just go like this. They think you have a cookie in your hand." Like this is the level of people we're dealing with. Like cat getting distracted by a laser ass human beings who just truly are so [ __ ] stupid. It It's honestly shocking that they haven't died from forgetting to breathe. But a couple of replies to Matt Gates tweet did a good job at illustrating just how idiotic these people are. This person shared a comic of Trump trying to distract a MAGA voter by pointing to a trans person while their quality of life plummets. This one says, "Oh, the [ __ ] you'll hear when an election draws near." And this one is probably my favorite. Please, bro, I know we have given you nothing for the past 20 years, but bro, please just vote for us one more time. The Democrats want to trans your kids. Just one more war for Israel, then we will deport them all. Please, bro. And that's a small sample, but there were a lot of people, thousands of people [ __ ] on Matt Gates for that idiotic take. But as cathartic as it was to see so many people mock him for deploying the most obvious distraction tactic ever, the sad truth of reality is that he does that because it works. Republicans do this because it works. Otherwise, they wouldn't do it. Trump successfully scapegoed immigrants and Muslims to win the 2016 election. And then he scapegoed the migrant caravan back in 2018. Then he scapegoed immigrants and trans people in 2024. And now he's trying to scapegoat trans people and Muslims in 2026. and dumbass Republican voters eat that [ __ ] up every single time. Unless, of course, they're able to draw a direct line between Republican policies and higher prices at the pump. If that's the case, then the distractions don't land. If Trump never started this war with Iran, I think we all know that they'd be crying about the big bad trans boogeymen right about now. But now that diesel hits $6 a gallon, people like Robbie Smither are finally smart enough to realize that the five trans athletes in existence aren't necessarily the biggest issue in the country that we're facing right now. And perhaps we need more responsible, stable leadership that's going to focus on the kitchen table issues and bringing the country together. Like they change their tune immediately once they start to feel the squeeze. Everybody else can feel the squeeze. We could be [ __ ] into oblivion by this administration's policies, but the second they start to feel the heat, all of a sudden they change their tune. It's amazing, isn't it? And I've got to say, the amount of hatred that I have in my heart for these [ __ ] cannot be overstated. I truly hate them with every fiber of my being. And as much as it pains me to see regular Americans suffer due to Trump's dumbass decisions, I'd be lying if I said I didn't take at least a little bit of pleasure in the economic anxiety that these regretful Trump voters are currently feeling right now. Because these same people were absolutely ruthless when they saw the ICE could stop a barge into people's homes to hunt down immigrants. They celebrated the deaths of Alex Prey and Renee Gooden. They called us terrorist sympathizers because we didn't want Israel to blow up Palestinians with our tax dollars. And they said that we were groomers for defending the rights of trans kids. So when these sick, sadistic [ __ ] get a small taste of their own medicine, I can't help but feel a little bit of joy from the shot and freed that their displeasure brings. >> Play stupid games, win stupid [music] prizes.
