Video summary

The Dental L Board Exam Boot Camp is returning in September specifically to assist students preparing for their upcoming board examinations held that month. This intensive program features live classes lasting approximately ninety minutes, during which hundreds of multiple-choice questions and complex case study scenarios are reviewed together with the instructor. A key advantage of this boot camp is its flexibility; even if a student cannot attend the session in real-time, they receive immediate access to fully recorded lectures along with comprehensive digital slides containing all questions, answers, and detailed rationales for review at their own pace. Following the September boot camp, participants will have the opportunity to enroll in the Board Exam Prep Academy, which offers an extensive twelve-week curriculum covering a wide array of dental topics including anatomy, radiography, pharmacology, nutrition, and clinical skills. The academy is designed with flexibility in mind; while it provides a structured twelve-week path for those with ample time, students facing tighter deadlines can condense the modules to study over just two weeks or any duration that suits their schedule. Upon registration, users gain instant online access to all pre-uploaded teaching videos and resources, ensuring they can begin studying immediately regardless of when they take the exam. The instructional content focuses heavily on developing critical thinking skills through difficult questions similar to those found in actual board exams, such as a case involving dietary counseling for a patient with limited time who relies on sugary snacks. In this example, while options like chewing gum or limiting carbs might seem logical, the correct approach involves increasing water intake to dilute acids and protect teeth without requiring major lifestyle changes that the patient is not yet ready to make. The program emphasizes analyzing every part of such questions carefully, explaining why certain answers are less appropriate than others through thorough rationales provided in both live sessions and recorded materials. For those interested in joining these programs or seeking further information on available packages like the VIP membership, study guides, express courses, and master books, all details can be found on the official website at dental.com. The VIP package notably offers extended access to teaching videos, mock exams, case studies, workbooks, homework practice, and full Master Book resources for up to a year or longer if needed. Students are encouraged to follow Dental L on Instagram for live updates regarding specific dates and new information, as the boot camp launch date is expected to be confirmed by the end of that week.

[music] The board exam boot camp with Dental L is coming back in September. I'm going to explain to you what the board exam boot camp is in case you haven't heard of it yet or you just haven't had the board exam yet. So, you haven't participated in any of the other ones. And I'm going to show you the last board exam boot camp that we had in May just a couple months ago. So you can see the types of questions, the the types of multiplechoice case study scenarios and critical thinking. There's going to be questions, there's going to be answers and also ration. So at the board exam boot camp, we have a live class together. It's typically about one and a half hours and we go through hundreds of questions. And the nice thing is even if you can't attend the class live, it will be fully recorded for those who sign up for it and you'll have full access to it right away. And you can watch it over and over again if you like. And you will also have access to the actual slides with the questions, answers, rationals, so you can practice even when we're not doing it together. Okay. So, the board exam boot camp is coming up in September because most of you are taking the exam in September. So, I thought it'd be perfect. I don't have the exact date yet. I should be able to figure that out by the end of this week. So stay tuned and make sure you follow Dental L on Instagram to see any live updates or new information. And as I promised, I'm going to show you guys some of the questions from the last board exam boot camp so you can see what it's kind of all about and if you're and if you want to sign up for the board exam boot camp or not when I do have the link for it. But then after the board exam boot camp, likely a couple days after that, we are going to start the board exam prep academy classes. That is 12 weeks of board exam prep. And the live classes, most of them are going to be during that week. So you can dive right in and get started studying. How the board exam prep academy works is everything is pre-uploaded inside the course. So as soon as you sign up, you can see everything right away, all of the 12 weeks of studying. But if you have less than 12 weeks to take the board exam, don't worry. You can just condense the modules online and study two weeks in two days. Like that's totally up to you. But I've just spread it out for 12 weeks of studying for those who do have 12 weeks. But as soon as you register, you have full access to everything online. And then live classes of course are going to be certain times and certain days. But don't worry if you are a VIP member. All the live classes are recorded. If you're curious to sign up for a package, um you will see that all on the website at dental.com. This is what the website looks like. And I I kind of have a summarized package list right here for you. Um right in the middle here, but then you can also click to read more about everything. We have different packages. We have the VIP package, study guide package, express, and the master book package. So anyway, without further ado, let's go over some questions so I can really test your knowledge. And this is what the board exam boot camp is like. So this is something similar to what the slides are going to look like. And we go through everything live so you don't have to study on your own. So let's just go through one together and see what you think. So a 40-year-old patient presents for dietary counseling. The patient um reports a very busy work schedule and admits to um often skipping meals, relying on sugary snack bars and energy drinks throughout the day. They are concerned about developing cavities but are not ready to make major dietary changes due to time constraints. You review strategies that can help them maintain their teeth as much as possible. Which recommendation would you go with? Would you say A to increase water intake to dilute acids? Or B to include more orange juice for vitamin C and pH balance, C avoid snacking and strictly limit carbs to three meals a day, or D use chewing gum to stimulate saliva production after meals. And my apologies, I just noticed I have a spelling mistake. Nobody has pointed that out to me. I'm going to fix that. But so this is a this is a similar type of question that you would have on the board exam and this is the types of questions that we go over in the board exam boot camp. They're very difficult critical thinking questions. This is kind of an easy one actually but for most of them they're very difficult because they truly want to test your knowledge. So as you're reading the question remember every part of the question matters. You have to be careful. You have to read everything. So, if I was reading this question, what I would do is say, "Okay, what's the appointment for?" Well, the appointment is for dietary counseling. So, you're talking to the patient about their diet. They say they have a very busy schedule and they don't often eat all of their meals. They quite often have a lot of sugary snack bars and energy drinks to get them throughout the day. So, one of the first things you're going to talk about is to have proper balanced meals. Nobody can just have snack bars and energy drinks throughout the day, but we're not a doctor. We're not a nurse. We're not going to necessarily do that, but we're more concerned with their teeth and their oral health. And it says right here, they are concerned about developing cavities, but they're not ready to make major changes. So, us telling them no more snack bars, no more energy drinks, well, that would be a major change to them, right? You could tell them, well, energy drinks are bad for your health, but also really bad for their teeth because there's a lot of sugar. But also, snack bars, there's going to be a lot of sugar in those as well. So, too much sugar is they're going to get cavities. So, they're concerned about developing cavities. And you're probably thinking, well, of course you're going to get cavities. All you're eating and drinking is sugar all day long. But as a dental professional, we take it a step further. What recommendation are we going to go with? A, B, C, or D? So that's what we're going to talk about right now. So the answer is going to increase water to dilute the acids. This is the best answer because the answer is not going to be B because adding more orange juice is adding more sugar and more acidity causing cavities. It's not going to be C either because to limit carbs, carbs do have sugar in them. But we need to take it a step further and say, okay, what's the better answer for us telling this patient to not snack anymore and limit their carbs um and have three meals a day? Well, that's just too much. But isn't the better answer to simply in increase the water intake? Because even if they avoided snacking, had limited carbs, and did have three meals a day with their carbs, well, even with all of that, they can still develop cavities. The better answer is to increase water intake because any foods, any sugars, even if they're not sugars that they're having, the increasing the water will help them not get cavities as easily. And um D isn't the best answer either because to use chewing gum to stimulate saliva production after meals. That's actually a good answer, but it's still not the better answer. The better one that would help with everything is going to increase the water intake to dilute the acids. If the acids are diluted, it's harder to get cavities. If they're using um chewing gum, well, it didn't mention anything about sugar-free chewing gum. So, if they're chewing gum that's filled with sugar, sure, they're getting more saliva, but they're getting more sugar, too. Or if they're just chewing gum after meals, even if they have like three meals a day or more, just chewing the gum isn't going to help them to avoid cavities, but increasing the water intake and swishing around the mouth will. So, does that make sense? And there's a whole rationale as well, which I kind of explained it all to you, but this is what the slides are going to look like when you sign up for the board exam boot camp. You get questions, answers, and full ration. And if you attend the live classes, it's me teaching you and talking to you about every single question, but also going through like the ration's do and telling you why these answers aren't appropriate and why a is the most appropriate. So, the last board exam boot camp, 326 pages. Does everybody see that? That's a lot of pages that you can study from. And there's a mix of topics. There's notes. Like I see a note right here. You know, just in case you needed an extra note, there's notes like that as well. And a variety of topics. We're talking anatomy, radiography, pharmarmacology, nutrition, clinical, you name it, it's in here because this is what the board exam is like. Okay, so you got tons here. 326 pages. Okay, so thank you guys for watching. Let me know if any questions. Make sure to join Dental L on Instagram to get the live updates and to get the actual date for the board exam boot camp when I decide that by the end of the week.
