G20 nations have unanimously endorsed the Carolina principles, a US proposed framework advocating for a lighter touch in governance of AI and other emerging technologies developed to foster global growth and innovation. The agreement emphasizes sector specific rulemaking and increased collaboration between governments and private industry to test new technologies. These principles are set for formal adoption by G20 leaders at their upcoming summit in December. Google released Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber featuring a generalpurpose model and a specialized vulnerability patching model restricted to trusted testers and government entities. This rapid 6E rollout creates potential EU AI act compliance challenges regarding documentation, copyright, data transparency, and systemic risk notification windows.
