Video summary
The Midwest RepRap Festival 2026 showcased an impressive array of innovative projects across two main venues, ranging from a magnetically floating Christmas tree with interactive QR codes for STL files to massive creations like Tripod's seventy-pound excavator built entirely over a weekend without painting. The Death Racers section served as the event's energetic centerpiece, featuring XL-sized vehicles battling through agility courses and highlighting accessibility scooters alongside crystal engravings by We Create Ultra. Booths from various creators displayed diverse capabilities, including LDO Motors testing their six-wheel-drive Unimog kit with a full-size racer on top for scale, Akuma Mods offering resin printing solutions like tiny washing cure stations, and Green Gate 3D presenting translucent PETG vases made from recycled plastics colored entirely in the USA.
Beyond these highlights, numerous vendors presented unique designs such as Hyperdrive Design's printed weapons and accessories, Poly Maker's giant dice towers and a ten-foot Transformer model alongside chain mail armor, and Gerari 3D demonstrating modular drawers with spinning tops. The event also featured Morpho printer previews for an upcoming Kickstarter that settles like traditional FDM printers onto silicone mats, Dawn's impressive full-size Star Wars droids including R2-D2 and BB-8, and Tech Jeeper's large marble run with switchable paths and all-printed pinball games. Special mentions went to Hedgehog Makes' custom screw-assembled trains printable on mini devices like the Snapmaker U1, Pezless booth creations supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through merchandise sales, and K2 Kevin's donation of Nerf blasters after a successful fundraising campaign that inspired a collaborative "Maker Chip Matrix" display for downloadable designs.
As Day 2 concluded around one o'clock with hosts packing up their booths amidst the sounds of ongoing death racer battles, the atmosphere remained lively despite rain beginning to fall outside. A notable moment occurred during the final competition where Tristan drove his candy corn-themed vehicle, sponsored by Voxil PLA filament which successfully endured significant impacts and minor breakage from large hits; this victory was celebrated with a promotional code for attendees to save on future purchases at voxalpla.com. The hosts expressed deep gratitude to all visitors who engaged in conversations near attractions like the marble run pinball machine and thanked the MRRF organization for hosting such a diverse gathering of makers, engineers, and enthusiasts before preparing for their journey home later that afternoon.

We are here at MURF 2026, the Midwest
Rap Rap Festival. Tristan and I are
hanging out. We got our table here
behind us with all sorts of fun stuff on
it. And we're about to go see some
really cool things here at the show,
right?
>> Yeah.
>> Let's take a walk. Let's see what we
find. And I'm going to let you do a lot
of the video. Does that sound fun?
>> Yeah.
>> All right, let's go.
>> Let's go.
>> So, here's the deal. Murf is split
between a couple different buildings
this year. They got a air conditioned
building on that side and they got the
building that we're in currently here.
We'll come back and show you this
building in a minute, but first we're
going to take a walk out across the
courtyard to the other building.
All right, we are in the second building
here at the Murf and this is where all
the vendors are, or most of the vendors
and a whole bunch of other people. So,
we're going to walk through. We're going
to see what Tristan finds and uh we're
going to show you all the cool stuff
that Tristan sees. Right,
>> let's do it. Tristan stopped us here and
uh we are at a table where they have a
bunch of really cool stuff, but what did
you see?
>> A floating Christmas tree.
>> Yes.
>> Whoa. I know. We're We're kind of
putting Tristan on the spot today. Words
are hard. But he just like slid a paper
underneath it. Can we see that again?
>> It is actually magnetically floating, I
believe.
>> Whoa.
>> It has a little funky
>> Oh, what's this?
That's cool. We're looking at all the
cool printed stuff here. Tristan figured
out right now. It twists open.
And there's another egg.
Wait a minute. What's really cool about
this booth is they have a QR code that
takes you to the model of all the stuff
they're showing, which is great.
>> And it looks like this is like a
original dragon egg by Y Blood.
>> It was a penguin egg.
>> Oh, look at that. It's a penguin egg.
There's a penguin in there. So, it all
stacks back in and it just twists
together. Wow. That's the original uh
dragon or in this case penguin egg by YB
Blood. I love that you have all the QR
codes too for the models you do. That's
really cool. So, this maker chip links
to a web page that has the URLs uh for
all of the models. So, I'm going to put
it right there in case anyone wants to
check it out. Thank you guys so much.
>> Thank you.
>> Thank you. All right, on to the next
one. So, a lot of these booths this year
uh have maker chips thanks to K2 Kevin
just like exploding the maker chip
world. Uh we found stickers, too. So,
you want to grab a sticker?
>> Awesome. Which one did you get? Show me.
>> Super cool. All right, on to the next
table. Huh? So, the next booth Tristan
has to show you is this one. What is at
this booth, buddy?
>> 3D printed excavator.
Oh, looks like Tripod is actually using
the excavator here. He's going to show
us how it works. He's going to dig out
some paws.
>> How long did it take to plant?
>> Well, between two printers about a week,
you know, just not really monitoring
them all the time. But yes, it assembly
took about a weekend if you don't paint
it.
>> So, if you paint it, it'll definitely
take longer.
>> Is it painted?
>> Only some of it. I gave up and I I did
multicolor printing instead. Is it
actually hydraulic? Does it run on
electric or both?
>> Well, it's actually both. So, you have
uh inside of here you have your your
hydraulic pump
and you got valve body right there that
controls everything. And then here you
have your your hydraulic cylinders for
your boom, your stick, and your bucket.
Um here are your drive motors for your
your tracks. And then you have another
one here for your slooh ring.
And this weighs about uh 70 lbs.
>> And the tractor weighs 70 lb.
>> Yes.
>> Holy.
>> To give you idea of the strength of it.
>> How much filament is in it? That's
>> not much, believe it or not. Maybe about
2 kilos.
>> He's got his death racers here, of
course. He's got this awesome section.
He always has his um
>> accessibility.
>> Accessibility scooter is what he calls
it. The accessibility scooter. And then
he's uh repping we create here. This is
the ultra, right?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. The Wereate Ultra. And of course,
all of the really cool crystal
engravings that he's actually selling
here, I think. Hey, buddy. Where are we
going to go next? Over this way. Oh,
right here. Look at this. We got some XL
Death Racers coming through.
Whoa.
>> We got an XL and a big and a regular
size one battling over here kind of.
We're going to go find another table in
this big room. Let's do it. So, this is
the LDO booth. Jason couldn't be here
this time, but that's okay. These guys
are repping and hooking it up. And uh I
spy something back there that we have to
take a look at. So, let's go check this
out. That's the Unimog, right?
>> Yeah. Yes, it is.
>> Oh, and you built it.
>> I broke it.
>> You were testing the kit?
>> Yep.
>> A
>> great bro. You guys are going to love
it.
>> Can I come around the back and check it
out?
>> Absolutely. Come on.
>> All right. So, we were walking by the
and we saw the LDO Motors booth and they
just released or are releasing a kit to
print this Unimog. It's on Colts 3D and
Jason sent me a kit. So, that kit should
be here hopefully today or tomorrow, but
obviously we're not there to check it
out. But this is the actual Unimog that
it's going to print. This is the uh the
six wheel version, the rear wheel steer.
The rear wheel steer is part of the kit,
too, right?
>> Is part of the kit except for that extra
tire on the top.
>> Oh, perfect. So, he printed a spare tire
for the top and he put the lights on
here, too. I don't think that's part of
the normal kit, but you can see how big
this is. That's a fulls size death racer
on top of the Unimog. This thing is
freaking cool. You can see just how big
this thing is. I mean, this thing is
like almost 40 in long, I believe, with
the six-wheel drive. He did such a good
job on this Unimog. I'm really pumped
for this kit, and I can't wait to uh get
this going at home. Man, this is going
to be a cool build. That thing is
awesome. I turned around from the LDO
booth, and Tristan is over here at the
Kumaods booth. I don't see Matt right
now, but what do you what do you see,
buddy? What are you looking at? What is
that? A tiny resin printer.
>> The tiny maker in the tiny washing cure
station. That's amazing. You know who
would love that? Mommy. She loves mini
stuff. That's awesome. So, this is the
Akuma Mods booth. His first time he's
bringing a booth out and uh representing
the resin printing. He's running around
in here somewhere, but we'll get back to
him later maybe if we can find him. But
Tristan saw all this really cool resin
stuff and especially the tiny little
tiny maker. That thing's awesome. We got
the Green Gate 3D booth. They always got
some really cool stuff. They have their
Green Gate 3D uh Death Racer. Are you
guys racing it today?
>> We are not.
>> You're not.
>> We're protecting this. Unfortunately,
>> you're protecting it. All right. All
right. [laughter]
Well, hopefully hopefully we'll see out
there one of these battles. But uh Rich
always has some really awesome stuff.
And one of the things that I love is the
colors of these flowers.
This is the uh Greengate PETG
translucent. And this stuff, these
colors are just freaking awesome. And
you guys got such the perfect table
right next to that sunlight
>> to shine in and show the colors. Another
good way to see them is if you scroll
through all their vases. This is the
colors they make. And you can just see
the shine off the facets of these vases.
So, so cool. 100% recycled. That's
awesome. 100% made in the United States.
Check it out. Green Gate 3D. Here's the
scrap plastics.
>> Oh, that's what they get for scrap.
>> Yep. Then we turn it
>> and they turn it into the pellets.
>> Nice.
>> We add color.
>> And they add the color and they fill it.
So that's Greengate 3D. And you can get
yourself some uh recycled PTG. I love
this stuff. They have a purple. This one
right here.
>> That is my favorite purple ever. So
>> check that stuff out. On to the next
one. We're here at the Hyperdrive Design
booth and Tristan found some sweet
stickers. What do you got? Whoa, those
are awesome. What do you say?
>> Thank you.
>> Thank you. Hey, you guys, the booth is
killing it again this year.
>> Love seeing this stuff, man.
>> Beautiful.
>> What is that? A ring pop.
>> Yeah.
>> That's awesome, man. I love this. She
said, "Be careful. Don't get poked."
That's pretty cool. I love it, guys.
That's so cool. This This looks awesome.
The hood's printed. Looks like the
boots,
of course, the weapon. A So cool. All
right, Tristan stopped us. We're over
here at the Poly Maker booth. Got all
the typical Poly Maker peeps here. Well,
Joel's here at least. And of course,
layer by layer, right?
>> Danny, how you doing?
>> I see your arms.
>> Whoa, there's what?
>> Where?
>> Whoa.
Awesome. Yeah, I love it.
So, this is a game. When he starts this,
the object of the game is to uh grab the
darts as they fall out. It's kind of
like one of those agility games and you
just never know where they're going to
fall.
>> No.
>> Oh.
Oh.
This is so cool.
>> Oh, he got one. He got one. That's
awesome. So, like it's one of those
agility games where everything falls and
you just try to catch. They look like
hotends here. And if you scroll through,
you got all the cool Poly Maker logos.
>> There we go.
So, we're not going to try the game, but
we're going to try this giant dice
tower. This thing is a monster. He's got
a really big 3D printed dice. Tell me
what you're going to do, bud.
>> You going to put it in?
>> Yeah.
>> All right. You got a 20. What? So, this
is the Poly Maker community prints
table. So much cool stuff here. We got
this helmet.
We got some blasters going on. Of
course, we got the Death Racers. We got
the mini version, like the normal
version of this dice tower here. And uh
all of the really cool stuff. And of
course, a droid. A little droid here.
All right, we're looking at pen. It has
different color inks that you can push.
Oh, you got one from Joel. What do you
say to Joel? Hi, Joel.
>> Hello.
>> How are you?
>> Doing good.
>> We got we we got some uh maker chips
here, too. Did you get a maker chip
yesterday?
>> Yes. You want to get one for me real
quick?
>> You got maker chips?
>> He's going to put it right in his chip
holder for me. Here we go. And then
behind you, we got like a floating
What?
>> That's the uh the maka. So ground.
>> What?
>> The real McCall.
>> It's easy to plant and everything's
flat.
>> Yeah,
>> there's I don't think I face and the
legs.
>> Wow. It's actually It's flat pieces and
they all kind of stack together.
>> Yeah. The feathers then you heat up like
haird dryer.
>> Oh,
that's cool.
>> It is time consuming, but it's it's a
cool.
>> Oh, let me let me jump down here. Hang
on. Whoa. What is that?
>> A fun little fidget sp
>> super cool fidget thing that Tristan
just found on the uh poly maker tape.
>> It's like, you know those uh the liquid
uh things you can never hold. It's
almost like that.
>> As we're walking through, there is a
huge transformer going on over here.
This thing is monstrous. How tall is
this?
>> Uh 10 and 1/2 ft.
>> 10 and 1/2 ft. That is a huge project.
Holy crap.
>> I can't even get the whole thing in
here. And of course, other huge projects
hiding over here. We got Krampus, right?
Hiding over there. Let me back up and
see if I can get this. Holy moly.
>> That is awesome. Power of 3D printing,
right? Nice work.
>> Well, how you doing, Zach?
>> I'm doing pretty dainty. a little bit
crazy in his diaper.
>> He's always got some really awesome
stuff. We started covering this thing
what, four years ago at least.
>> Uh, and it's all painted and it looks so
good now. And he's got some awesome
weapons here. If you were at Rocky
Mountain, uh, you saw the knight running
around. We have some really cool footage
of the night. Maybe I'll put it in here
while we're talking. I got to get you
that footage still.
>> Yeah. But uh we had him running around
when we opened the doors waving the big
Murf uh Rurf flag. If we come around, we
see some really awesome armor. This is
just super cool, man. I love that you
print all this awesome stuff. Wow. Look
at that.
Full chain mail. That's beautiful. It
really is.
>> Thank you. And even the lacing is TPU.
>> The lacing is TPU. Awesome.
So, he just told me the lacing on that's
TPU. Of course, we got some maker chips.
Tristan, you want to grab a maker chip?
Cool. We're going to put that in our
maker chip uh thing. And
>> I feel like I only got three.
>> You think you already got one?
>> You got limited.
>> Oh, he's got a special one. Let me back
up. So, Zach has some special maker
chips that only he's given out like
limited of. That's awesome. Let's check
it out.
Whoa. Let's see. The light is right in
my way, but super cool. Says any maker
Zack on there.
He said, "Do you say thank you?"
Awesome. Thanks, Zach. We appreciate it.
Go check out Zany maker Zack's stuff.
This thing is he's got awesome stuff.
Always has huge scale things, too. So,
that's super cool.
>> Little prints.
>> So, Tristan and I were walking and we
found the uh table right here for Gerari
3D. Joey, the king of drawers, is over
there talking about his drawers to
everybody, but we wanted to check out
some of the really cool stuff that he
printed. It looks like he actually has a
table partner uh with Caleb. I I say
that because Caleb's masks that we saw
in his shorts are over here. These
things look even better in person than
they did on your uh shorts, Caleb.
Helmets we got going on. Lightsabers,
blasters, all the really cool stuff. And
this is where you can find it.
>> There you go.
>> That's a hot.
>> You scroll back over here. And we got of
course a hot makes represented in the
house. There you go. Tristan's Tristan's
talking to Joey and uh he he really
liked this.
>> What is it, buddy? What do you see here?
So, that's a drawer.
>> Boom. That's a big drawer.
>> That is a really big drawer from Joey.
>> And when he takes it off, he puts it up
here on a spinner. And that's what
caught Tristan's eye. Really? Spinning
drawers by Gerari 3D. Get yours today.
>> Gen two locked modular system. We're
going to go check out the next thing.
>> I think it's getting full.
>> Your maker chip thing's almost full.
Yes.
>> Well, well, we better go empty it so we
can fill it again. Huh? We were walking
by and we saw the tiny little benie over
here. That little guy right there. Look
at that. They're so small. I love it.
>> This is a Morpho printer. It's going to
be on Kickstarter soon. Yes.
>> I hadn't seen this until I we showed up
and uh he you let him test this last
night. So, I was like he's like, "We got
to go back and get a train." What I
really like about that is you can see
what's happening. So, you can open it
up, buddy. It's going to settle to the
bottom like a like a 3D printer
basically.
>> Yes.
>> Silicone mat pulls it right off. And
let's check it out. Man, that looks
great. Did you do a gloss or was just
just
>> No, no, no. Just CMYK.
>> Just CMYK. Okay, dude. That looks so
good. So, of course, we're walking
through and we have to check out the
droids here at Murf. This is Dawn's
droids. He has the R2-D2. Well,
Tristan loves droids.
He absolutely loves them.
What?
>> He's holding all his magnets we just got
at Morpho. But
is that awesome?
roids. So, we have a fulls size R2. We
have the BB-8 hiding over there.
And there we go. I can't remember which
one's this.
>> Conchk.
>> GK.
>> Gunkk. Yeah. What do you think, buddy?
He loves them. Let's go over there and
check out the mouse droid.
>> Whoa,
that's cool. Hard to see on the camera,
but it's a spinning thing. Look at that.
It's a mouse droid.
>> Awesome. We got the big printer here
doing some pen plotting. I love this
idea. I I am not a good drawer, so this
was this is really cool. All right,
buddy. We saw some really cool stuff in
here. You saw the droids. You got some
more foam magnets. What do you think?
Should we go to the other building and
check out that?
>> Yeah, let's go. So, we are at the
Midwest RepRap Festival and Tristan here
has a brand new Death Racer. What do you
got to say, Tristan? So, this is my
death racer. I'm going to race it out
here
>> with all the rest of the death racer.
Even a boss.
>> Nice. You going to have fun?
>> Yes.
>> We got to thank you. Uh, we got to thank
Voxil PLA for uh sponsoring the filament
for the Death Racer. Can you show us the
Voxil? Let's see.
>> He's got a lot of stuff. So, Voxil PLA.
We got Vauxil on the side of the candy
corn racer. We're calling it. Thank you
so much, Voxville, for sponsoring the
material for this. Also for sponsoring
uh some of our booth here at the Midwest
Repar Festival. We have uh boxes, we
have flyers. We're telling people about
Voxil. And uh get that off there. Sorry.
And and we're about ready to race. We
got about 7 minutes. We're going to fire
it up. Get the Death Racer warmed up.
Are you ready?
>> Yeah.
>> All right, let's go race. So, so as you
can see, we have a huge area for Death
Racers this year because they put a lot
of the vendors and stuff in the other
building. There are combat robots on the
other side way down there and they're
pretty loud. So, we got a course. I
believe they're going to have them drive
through here called like agility course
kind of thing. And then uh they're going
to do some death race battles. Death
racers are going to be fun. And
Tristan's first battle is about to come
up. Tristan found a little group to
stand with here. We got uh Tristan is
six. I believe you're eight, right?
Eight and 10 years old. And they're
gonna come out here and do some battle.
Good job. You're doing great.
Tristan's in his very first death race
battle here. You can see there's a ton
of racers here. A lot of racers.
Watch out. Watch out for Jeremy.
Run. Run. Run. Get out of there.
Oh, there you go. Good job.
Watch out. Watch out. He's going to get
you. Oh, he got you. What do you think,
bud? You have fun?
>> Yeah. All right, Tristan's grabbing his
head. We're going to reset. We're going
to settle his death racer back in and
get get him onto the next race. That was
good.
>> Tristan's out in the center of the
battle already.
>> Oh. Oh, they got him already.
>> It's day two death racers. Sam is going
over stuff now. Tristan is ready to have
some fun with his death racer. Tristan
is lined up. We got racers of four and
you got a I The idea is you have to get
through the hose maze here. It's kind of
a track, right? And then get out through
the cones the fastest. Here comes
Tristan.
There goes Tristan. Go, go, go, go, go.
Yes.
Good job, buddy. Good job, buddy. Go
around him. There you go. Go, go, go.
Okay. Oh, tip him over. Tip him over.
Yes. Go.
He's going to drive it back. He did
really good through those cones. He
avoided getting hit, which is great. And
he's flying. Woo!
Get him.
Whoa.
I got it.
>> Come back quick.
Oh no. Watch out. Jeremy's going to get
you.
>> The final battle. It's Jeremy and
Tristan.
>> Get him.
>> Oh.
Oh,
>> get him, buddy. Spin the other way. Spin
the other way.
>> Oh. Oh. [screaming]
>> Uhoh.
>> Hey, buddy. Spin the other way. Oh,
>> Tristan just won.
>> What do you think, buddy? Was that
awesome?
>> So, we got the big death race, the final
death race, and Tristan actually won. He
was battling Jeremy in the end. And uh
Jeremy's head came off first thanks to
Thanks to Jeremy for being a great sport
on that. That is such a great time.
Tristan, what do you think? Thumbs up.
>> Yeah, he doesn't have a mic on right
now. Such an awesome race. There's chaos
behind me. They're battling to the
death. I'm going to get a photo of these
guys and then let them jump in.
What's up everybody? It is day two right
here at the Midwest Rap Rap Festival
Murf and we're going to go look at some
cool stuff that's right around our area
today. Right.
>> Yeah.
>> All right. We made it over to the Tech
Jeeper booth. This is the I think this
is Tristan's favorite booth, right?
>> Yes.
>> What are you seeing?
>> What is that?
>> A marble run. a marble run. How does it
work? Show me the things.
>> So, this
>> and then over here is
>> has other places and then it comes down
here, but this path is blocked by this
because it gets stuck right here and
gets stuck over here.
>> So, it comes up the conveyor and it goes
down and there's some paths that it can
take. It looks like you can switch this
so it can go this way.
>> Yeah, but that's just a block this way
right now because it's getting stuck
right here. Oh,
>> but it still goes, but it gets stuck
right here.
>> Okay, gotcha. So, and you've been here a
lot of the weekend like fixing it,
right? Helping people with the marbles.
>> One of the cool things is look is it
it's 3D printed marbles, right?
>> Yes.
>> Well, this is the new one from Tech
Jeeper. He built one last year, too. Um,
this one's bigger and better and uh
really cool. What else you see over
here, bud?
>> Pinball.
>> Pinball? No way. This is Murf Pinball.
Tech Cheaper made it and Tristan's going
to show us how to play it. So, it's all
3D printed. Uh, you flip it up and then
you got the flippers and
>> and then when it goes on the hole, you
can go down here.
>> So, you take a a marble or a bearing.
>> A marble.
>> Yep.
>> And then here, it goes down here. Lift
this up. Yeah.
>> That goes through there. Hold it.
>> There we go. Nice. And that just you
lose automatically if that goes does
that. No, that's just actually a free
ball. So, it just comes down here and
then you
>> Oh, it's a free ball. I see.
>> Cool. Can you try to get it up over the
bridge? Try to hit it over the bridge.
>> Well, I can't.
>> Sure you can.
>> It's impossible.
>> Well, yeah, I can.
>> That's pretty awesome, huh?
>> I can do that.
>> Well, I tell you what, Tech Jeeper uh
really has some cool stuff here. Again,
this is the this is the 3D printed uh
marble marble run, sorry. And the 3D
printed pinball. Of course, he's showing
the posetron over here, too, which is
really cool. I appreciate it. Have a
good one.
>> We'll do that. Bam. We'll we'll see you
soon.
>> See you.
>> So, now we're at the Hedgehog Makes
booth. What do you think?
>> It's awesome.
>> Does he have trains?
>> Yes.
>> Yes. Can you show me something real
quick? What do you got? An engine.
>> That's pretty awesome. Is this all 3D
printed train stuff?
Yeah,
>> Tristan loves trains and we're gonna
check it out. So, here's what I'm gonna
do. I'm gonna uh take your microphone
and let's ask let's ask him some
questions. How about that? Sound good?
All right. Here we go.
>> So, I Austin's got the mic. We're going
to ask Austin some questions. How you
doing, man? Good.
>> I just wanted to get you in your whole
booth, David.
>> All right.
>> All right. I'm going to bring it in.
>> Awesome stuff here.
>> Yeah. Yeah. A lot of awesome stuff. So,
we got 3D printed trains. Of course, you
brought out the uh the semi-tanker
again. Yep. and uh all the good stuff.
But the the trains, where do you get the
files? Like where did you find this?
What kind of
>> So all of these trains are from printed
toys.com.
>> Okay.
>> This is a designer who specializes in
making very custom trains that are
designed to be played with and actually
used and abused. They all assemble with
screws. They all print on little mini
printers. So you can Oh, nice.
>> Essentially, if you have a 3D printer,
you can make these.
>> So you can do it like on an A1 mini or
mini or whatever. Uh 80 millimeter
printer.
>> 80 millimeter. Holy moly.
>> Any any printer.
>> So, do they have kits? Like, can you
order kits or do you got to source the
screws?
>> Part you would need to source is screws.
So,
>> okay.
>> Um, all the information is on the
website. There are a few different
sources to get them, but that's it. Once
you get some screws, you can build all
these trains. And
>> that's super cool. So, what about these
guys? These guys are awesome.
>> Yeah. So, these are the ZH1. Um, these
are printplace cars that fix design. So
they print like this.
>> Fix some dude.
>> And I printed, of course, a bunch of
them in multicolor. In fact, this one is
multiaterial. I printed the wheels in
place on the Snapmaker U1.
>> Yeah, the Snapmaker's great for TPU, by
the way. Uh
>> I ripped out all those um treads for the
the new death Death Racer we made for
Tristan. We did the two-part um we did
the two-part treads and it just was
nothing. It was awesome.
>> Very cool. Some other stuff I printed on
the Snap Maker, of course. the Watchful
Owl, a very impressive two and a half
day print with Polymaker filaments.
>> And of course, the Starry Night vase,
which has been extremely popular. This
is all 3D printed. It It doesn't even
look like it. It's It's It's
>> That is awesome. And on camera, it looks
so good. Like,
>> it does.
>> Wow. And And these are just with uh four
different colors.
>> Yeah, four different colors on the U1.
>> Nice.
And of course, um, if we back up a
little bit, you we got we got the maker
chips. Got to have the zombie hedgehog
maker chips.
>> That is, uh, Twisty Prints. So that's a
designer over on Fangs who makes some
very interesting designs,
uh, of different styles. They're all
designed to be printed in multicolor, so
you can just, you know, send it to your
your bed, assemble it a little bit if
necessary, and then you get these cool
creations.
>> Awesome. And then I mean we can't we
can't go anywhere uh without talking
about this castle. What's going on here?
>> Yeah. So this is actually a lamp so you
can light it up. It has
>> well if you put lights in it's a lamp.
If you don't it's just a decoration.
>> That's awesome.
>> But it has a full capacity for lighting
and all the pieces they come apart. So
each of the components are printed
individually. And I did these on the
Snapmaker U1 as well. You can print them
in a single color but I wanted to do
this cool pattern that's available.
And it's a school print.
>> Awesome. And of course, last but not
least, but I mean, we got to talk about
the the tanker. I've showed this in
B-roll. We've showed it in like
highlight reels and all that stuff, but
we never really talked about the fuel
tanker that you build. I got to point
out that that most of this is in your
your filament, right?
>> Makes Galaxy Red limited edition
filament.
>> Yeah.
>> I wanted to make a very very cool
display piece,
>> right?
>> And this was it. So, this is the 3D sets
Rocky tanker truck. Um, definitely one
of the bigger things I built and
definitely one of my favorites. It uses
just rechargeable double A batteries.
>> Oh, really?
>> Yeah. Four or eight of them.
>> Nice.
>> And just generic little motors. It's
very simple. It works very good.
>> And it's it was a very fun print. Very
involved. I actually purchased a second
3D printer just to
make [laughter] all these parts.
>> You kind of print as you go with these
projects.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
Well, it's it's so cool to see this
thing. We've seen this at a couple of
like what at least a year now. You had
it last year, too, I'd say.
>> Yes, I had it at uh it debuted at Rocky
not repro festival with my hedgehog mix
galaxy red table and then I brought it
to Murf and it's been living with
>> poly and it's fast. Like it moves uh
faster than I thought it was going to
move.
>> It's very fast considering that it runs
on AA batteries,
>> right? I love that. Uh, and and I guess
I said last but not least, but I mean
like
>> uh I gota I got to back up to this and
rub it into Zack Freriedman a little
bit. Um, there's the the winning
multiple time winning death racer here.
The Hedgehog's Make Death Racer uh
yesterday didn't didn't go so didn't go
so great uh for most of us yesterday,
but
>> yeah, I snapped my my weapon. Um Oh, no.
>> This was a
from a previous Death Racer. must have
had battle damage cuz it immediately
snapped. Sure.
>> So, I got that replaced.
>> You know what's funny? It was laying I
have I'm pretty sure I have footage of
that. If I can find it, I'll put it in
here. But it was laying next to
Tristan's after he got taken out. I was
like, it looks like zombies weapon. I'm
pretty sure it is. I think your head and
some other Yeah.
>> But but it's it's these things are so
much fun. I wish we got more time to
play with them because
>> we do it what a couple times a year. And
>> yeah, they're very they're very fun kits
and of course you can play with them at
home. They're very fun.
>> I strongly recommend even if you're not
battling a death racer, just pick up a
kit and build it. It's a fun 3D printing
>> process. And and and Zach Freeman, I
just want to point out this does follow
spec. It is in rules.
>> This is a 100%
stock.
>> Oh, look. You broke off the front uh
broke off the front, too.
>> With some broken parts.
>> Yeah, that's okay. It has what is that
called? The katan front.
>> Yeah, the katan front.
>> That's what we did, too.
>> This is the decorative part. I thought
it looked cool.
>> Yeah. Thanks, man. I really appreciate
that. Thank you.
>> We got to We got to go track uh Tristan
down. Sorry. We got to go track Tristan
down because as I pointed out several
times, if I pan over here, he's still
over at Tech Jeepers booth. We're
getting near the end of the day of day
two and we found Pezless's booth. She is
started cleaning up, so we had to run
over here and we had to talk to her.
Right. What'd you find over here, buddy?
>> Pez and a bus.
>> Pez and a bus. That's awesome. And she
gave you a couple unicorns yesterday. It
kind of sounds like Pez in a bus.
>> Pez in. That's That's right. Sounds like
Pez in a bus. That's awesome.
>> Pez truck.
>> Oh, we got the Pez truck.
>> Yeah. Oh, that's sick. Got to have the
PZ truck. She's got PZ to everything.
So, um
>> cuz her name is Pez Liz.
>> How you doing?
>> I'm great.
>> Good. How was the weekend?
>> Absolutely fantastic. Murf is always a
fantastic event. Whatever it evolves to,
>> we're ready.
>> We're ready. We're ready. Well, thank
you. She actually put on the Friday
night chili's extravaganza where we had
a whole ton of people show up at Chili's
and took over the restaurant kind of. So
that was a lot of fun. But um I got to
ask you, so I don't think we've ever
actually talked about this, but uh what
what got you into PEZ? I got I got to
know this. Uh, I was at summer camp and
we were playing a name game and by the
time it came around to me, people had
taken like, "My name is Liz and I like
lemons." So, I said, "My name is Liz and
I like pomegranates."
And so then it was his that turned into
Pez.
>> Nice. [laughter] That's a funny story.
Well, you're, you know, you're always
hanging out with us on Hot Makes, too.
And don't forget they have Z&Z
>> Monday nights after Hot Makes.
>> Yes. So, you get you get to take a
little break, have your supper, and then
go into Z.
>> Z&Z. And I think we're going to do like
a crossover sometime soon. So, we're
going to do
>> We're going to do it for St. Jude. I
think we're going to do that.
>> Let's do that. Yeah. Kevin Kevin's still
got his stuff going on over here with
the darts, but unfortunately keeps
giving Tristan uh more and more and more
Nerf blasters to take home, and that's
going to be great when we get home.
Mom's going to love that.
>> So, I have an important question for
everyone in 3D printing.
>> Are you team stab? Oh,
>> or don't stab.
>> See, stab or don't stab. That's a St.
Jude thing going on right now, too,
right?
>> So, for the merch that's on my uh in my
merch shop,
stab is winning. But for every single
piece of merch purchased, we have been
donating $5 to St. Jude.
>> Nice.
>> But uh well, we'll be doing more of that
coming up.
>> And for those of you who don't
understand that, that is like if you get
a filament bag, right? Do you stab? Do
you stab that filament bag or do you
open it up uh like a a regular person?
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I I got to say
I'm I'm team stab. I don't even look.
>> I'll just This is how easy it is. Watch.
Watch.
>> First, do not open from this size.
>> Don't open it, sis.
>> Okay. Even if you don't have scissors or
cutters, you rip it this much. Oh,
>> then you rip a bit this much and then
you open it like a bag of chips and you
still get the satisfaction
>> of the air going in
>> of the air.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Of course, this is a very rare
>> hedgehog. Red is I heard I heard he
might be like one of the number one
streamers uh on on YouTube. Yeah.
>> Yeah.
[laughter]
>> We are the number one duo that streams
with 3D printing on Twitch.
>> There you go. Perfect.
>> G&Z.
>> I love it. I love it. And uh if you're
me, you just stab the center and rip it
open. That's that's what I do. Um
>> but look, watch this.
>> I'm getting ready to go home.
>> I take this. I put it here. I take
these. I put them in the
>> Oh, look at this. So, she's telling us
why she does not stab. So, team stab is
winning. She's trying to get team no
stab to jump back in the lead. Jump
over. What is How do we find your shop?
Uh, I on peslas.com.
>> peslas.com. There you go.
>> Very easy. It's even on my maker.
>> Awesome. Let's Let's go show you.
peslas.com.
It's on the maker chip. Uh, here. Let me
do this.
>> Yeah. See?
>> Awesome. Thank you so much. You guys
have been awesome. And you've been
awesome to Tristan. I know he's kind of
all over. And uh, you've hooked him up
with Pez. You've hooked him up with
Prince. And I tell you, if we look,
thank you. He is He's having so much
fun. And I tell you, if we look, this is
kind of a a thing. Like, he started the
video with us. Now he's back at the
marble round.
>> So, that's that's where he's lived a lot
of this weekend. [laughter]
But awesome. Thank you so much. Have a
safe trip home.
>> Thank you.
>> We'll see you at the next one.
>> You too.
>> Bye.
>> So, now we're over at the K2, Kevin, the
maker chip table. And of course, one of
uh Tristan's favorites because he has
like tons of Nerf guns. He's doing a
donation to St. Jude's Hospital. You get
to bring home Oh, he got you. You get to
bring home a Nerf gun and uh if you do a
donation. So, we we got a couple
donations and a couple Nerf guns. And
Tristan's trying to take the rest of
this table. So, we're going to
>> hopefully
>> Do you like those two?
>> Yes.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Which two did you already
grab? Can you go grab them? So, Tristan
has these two. These are so far his
favorite. And uh we got to do some big
donations to St. Jude's, right?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah, we got to do some
>> Yeah, I like these, too.
>> At least 25 cents each. No, I'm just
kidding. So, you like those? He loves
Nerf guns. We have a lot of uh Nerf
blasters. Sorry. Nerf blasters. Gez. And
uh what else? So, so Kevin has been uh
kind of like Kevin and Tristan have been
firing them at each other all weekend
cuz we're kind of across the way. Tell
you what, buddy. Let's give Kevin the
mic and let's ask him some questions
about his table. Okay. All right. So,
now we got we got Kevin the mic. We're
here at uh the the K2 Kevin Maker Chip
table. U we have been seeing like tons
of stuff on Hot Makes all the time and
we had to come say hi to Kevin. How you
doing, man?
>> How you doing?
>> So, what I decided to do, my son had a
large collection of Nerf and I'm like I
I see people here, they love their Nerf
blasters.
>> So, I decided to go ahead and bring the
cold collection cuz he's done with it.
>> Yeah. and let's go ahead and and offer
it up as like donations to St. Jude.
>> Awesome.
>> Um Austin and Liz uh did a kind of a a
little subscribeathon donation. They
raised over $8,000 for St. Jude.
>> Wow.
>> Liz went to their campus, was invited to
their campus.
>> That's awesome.
>> Uh with a bunch of other content
creators.
>> Sure.
>> And we thought, hey, let's just give
away some of these things. We don't have
a price tag on them. It's just donation
only. So, it's a nice way to, you know,
give back with a little table here.
>> And it's right next to the Maker Chip
table.
>> Yeah. Let's And and you know what?
That's amazing. I love that you're doing
this. I hope we're raising some decent
money this weekend. You do have a QR
code, so if you guys want to jump in
there, uh let's see if I could shoot it.
There you go. Help out uh St. Jude and
and uh you won't get a blaster because
well, you're donating over QR code over
a video, but but you can help out
anyway.
>> We got Death Racers firing up behind us,
so it's going to be a little bit loud.
It's going to get loud. We'll do this
quick.
>> So, this is kind of the star of the
show. It has grown every year since
we've seen it.
>> It really has.
>> So, so what are we looking at? Like,
>> you know, these are past shows. So,
these panels actually was kind of a
little collaboration, but mainly
designed by Utron or Udo in Japan. And
when he came out here for 3D Printopia,
I decided to display them. And uh this
is how I'm displaying all the past show
maker chips.
Uh I was fortunate enough to get a
couple hundred from Japan Rep.
>> That's so cool.
>> And that is this panel and the first
panel on the other side.
>> This panel is all from Japan.
>> Yes. And then the other side is a a full
panel.
>> Nice.
>> And that came from Joel at Poly Maker.
He hunted them down for me, which was
great.
>> It's so cool. I love that you display
them and you bring them out and you know
you got
>> when you see somebody looking for their
own. That's what they really Where's
mine? I was at that show and then they
find it.
>> Yeah.
>> Like Yeah. You're there. You're there.
>> That's so cool.
>> And the designs are are pretty they're
getting better and better.
>> Yeah. Every year they seem we see
different things and um you know I like
a lot of people tag them on on hot makes
and we try to show off as many as we
can. And I mean the Japan ones literally
are next level though. They really are.
>> Some of them we we you actually did one
the other day that like transforms into
the spider
>> spiders up on top here.
>> Oh yeah, that's up here. That one
actually break. [laughter]
>> Well, that's the worst part. If you
break it, it's not like you can get a
new one right away, right?
>> I mean, you know, I can't even reprint
that one. So,
>> yeah, I know. So, if you look right
here, we got the uh take one, the maker
chip pile. And uh he just has so much
cool stuff. I am so glad that you did
this project. It's been what, two years
now?
>> Thanks. you know, might be going on
three now. I think we're on three.
>> I mean, the the project is is awesome
and it just gives us all kind of a goal
because we had maker coins before, but
everything was different. And that's not
that's okay, too. It
>> But this kind of gives us a little bit
of uniformity and direction. I I saw at
the time when I was kind of coming up
with an idea for Rocky Mountain 2023 or
maybe it was 2024.
Um something that was more collectible
and not end up in the junk drawer, you
know.
>> Sure. Yeah. Yeah.
>> And I thought uniformity was key.
>> Yeah.
>> And that way other people and you can
add you could have displays and so
forth.
>> Are the displays are those like can you
print them? Are they open source? You
>> can you can actually this
>> Okay. So the the poles I had never
released a pipe, but these are actual
hanging displays.
>> Um that is on a collection of mine on
Maker World,
>> right?
>> So I have a Maker Chip collection on
Maker World. I have one on printables,
but you Udo did not post this there. He
posted on Maker World. So it is there.
You could download and print it.
>> I have done a few modifications to it,
you know.
>> So dude, look up K2 Kevin on Maker
World. find us find a collection and
then you can you can actually print
those hanging display things.
>> I was going to release these cuz there's
been a lot of people that wanted their
own.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> Um so that might come along too.
>> And and you just talk about this one.
>> All the holders. This is the Maker Chip
Matrix.
>> Nice.
>> And uh actually that name was from Zack
Freriedman when I designed this on
stream.
>> Yeah.
>> Zach was there and we were talking we
needed a name and
>> call it the Matrix. I'm like deal
>> Makerhip Matrix. I love it. I love it.
Thank you, man. I really appreciate it.
>> You take care.
>> Thanks. One booth we haven't talked to
yet is Big Jano. Jano's here at at Murf
2026 in in the building that we're in.
And what do you see?
>> I see this.
>> What is this? Like a city? You see all
the lights?
>> Yeah.
>> Well, I tell you what, let's let's hand
him the microphone real quick and let's
ask him some questions. How about that?
>> All right. I'm I'm I'm handing Jano the
microphone.
>> Okay. Tristan is going to the Marvel
run.
>> Yep. There we go. All right, let's do
this.
>> So, this is the gingerbread city. There
is about 800 LED pixels in this project
this year. Um, all this was all this was
printed on my Prussa XL and right now
it's currently running a 30ish minute
music and light show. I am currently
using Xlits, which is the same software
many people use on their outdoor light
projects in the
>> Oh, really? That's cool.
>> Um, and then this controller in the back
here is running both the lights and the
show, syncing them together. And all
this, uh, the whole display, the whole
city is something I kind of have done
the last couple years. I've done 3D
printed gingerbread houses in the past.
Uh, but this particular model is
available on my printables page, and
I'll probably be doing another version
of this next year of some of some scale.
>> Yeah. Well, and you do all the cool
light up stuff. Sorry, the battle
robots.
They're combating over there, the Battle
Robots, and it's super loud. So
hopefully it's not too bad in the
microphone. But but yeah, you do such
cool light up projects. You can check
them all out at uh that big Jano there.
He does, I think, Twitch. Twitch.
>> Twitch. And I also make YouTube videos
as well. There's
>> uh Patrick made a video not too long ago
breaking down uh the types of LEDs I
use, what power supplies, controllers I
use to make all these awesome projects.
>> Awesome, man. Thank you so much. I'm
glad you're here. It's great to see you
again.
>> Always great seeing you.
>> Yeah. I got to go find Tristan. He's
literally back over by the marble run
again. So, [laughter] but
Tristan uh reoccurring theme of the
video. Tristan is here by the Marble Run
again. He absolutely loves this thing.
I'm standing here with uh with Cody,
also known as as Tech Jeeper. We're just
hanging out at the booth. It's almost
the end of the day on day two and uh
we're going to start packing up pretty
soon. I mean, it's I it's almost 1:00
and I think it goes till 3, right? Goes
till 3. Um Tristan Cody, he has a
question for you. Hang on.
>> Since you since you helped keep it keep
it running all weekend, do you want to
take that home with you and you can
maybe add it to your dad's new studio?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. You like that idea?
>> Yeah. [laughter]
>> All right. What do you say?
>> Look at that three.
>> Oh, there goes three. What do you say?
Hold that.
>> Thank you.
>> Hold it.
>> And good job on the death racers. High
five.
>> High five.
>> I won the last round.
>> You won the last round. It was really
good, buddy.
>> Yes. Can you say, "Oh, it's stuck." Oh,
>> what do you do to stop? Fix it.
>> It's stuck. So, I just walk over here
and then I check the gear if it's stuck.
Then I press it in if it's the gear and
then it starts working.
>> Oh, I lost you. There we go. My camera
went wonky for a second, but what do you
say?
>> Thank you.
>> Thank you so much. You want to give Tech
Jeeper a high five? I know you already
did, but there we go. Now we got an
official Thank you so much, man.
It's the end of the day on uh Sunday
here. We're about ready to pack up and I
don't know if we've really shown our
booth. We got so much cool stuff here.
Talon T4 uh a bunch of uh Death Racer
stuff. The Desk Racer thanks to Offset
Maker Lab. Pez Liz uh came up with this
last year and we had to print one of
those for Tristan. As far as the Pez
dispenser, we have a really fun balance
game and of course the uh winning death
racer today. So, the winning death
racer, uh Tristan is on one side and
let me just pop this around
and we got Voxil on the other side.
Thank you so much to Voxil uh for
sponsoring this video and the filament
here for the Death Racer. We like to
call it the candy corn racer. It is a
winning racer. It won today in the final
death race and Tristan did an amazing
job driving it. So, thank you so much
Voxil for uh sponsoring us, for
believing in us and providing the
filament. Um, if you guys haven't
checked out Voxil, go do that.
Voxalpla.com.
You It's made in the USA. All of the
filament they make, the PLA, the PETG,
they use in a huge print farm that they
have themselves. You can get spools for
$16.99, low as $14.99. Voxalpla.com.
Use code TEOT T and save yourself some
money when you're ordering your Voxil.
Check it out. It printed really, really
good for this Death Racer. It held up
good. He had a couple broken pieces, but
that was some really big hits that he
took. So, thank you again, Voxil, for
sponsoring this video. We really
appreciate you helping us uh here with
our trip to Murf. And we look forward to
doing some really cool stuff with you in
the future. All right, everybody. It is
the end of day two. We got to start
cleaning up the table and start the long
4-hour journey home. I say long journey,
that's relative. A lot of people come
from a lot farther. But Tristan, what
did you think? Did you have fun?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. What was your favorite thing that
you saw?
>> Marble run pinball.
>> The marble run and the pinball.
>> Yeah.
>> That's awesome. He has uh been non-stop
at Tech Jeeper's table as you probably
have seen throughout this video. And
Tech Jeeper uh said that you could take
the marble run home.
>> Yeah.
>> That's going to be awesome. Well, you
did an amazing job with your death race,
buddy. I'm so proud of you. You did such
a great job. Your death racer held up
good. You went out there into battle and
you won, right?
>> Yeah.
>> All right.
>> It was me and Jeremy left and I got
Jeremy. He's usually the hardest for me.
>> Yeah, you got him. And he's usually the
hardest for you to get.
>> Yes.
>> So, we're going to start packing up. It
is uh it's been raining outside for
quite a while, but we're going to start
packing up and get our stuff out of
here. I just wanted to say thank you
again to Voxil for helping us sponsor
this video. We really appreciate the
filament. We really appreciate the
support uh for this video and helping us
on our Murf trip here. And Tristan,
great job doing your video. I know you
were pretty pretty distracted by the
Marvel Run most of the time, but that's
okay, right?
He did a great job. He saw some really
cool stuff. Thanks to everybody out
there who came and said hi. And of
course, uh, you know, anyone that came
and was just hanging out here. It was an
amazing weekend. Thanks to the Murf team
for putting this on and hopefully we'll
see you guys at the next one, right?
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Say bye.
>> Bye.
>> Bye, everybody. [clears throat]
>> Bye.
