FREE 29-Sheet Kit Flip-Through | Double Inkwell Illusion Pocket Tutorial

Hello everyone. Welcome back to my channel. It's Eva from Bohemian Crafting. Today I'm going to show you how to put together this double inkwell pocket. It looks like nice decoration for your page. But like most of my pockets, it does have few hidden spots inside. Before we start, I want to show you some pages from a brand new and totally free printable kit and tell you a little story behind it. This kit is called what we carry with us. Charla is hosting this uh this marathon to honor her sister Manda who sadly passed away from cancer. And this marathon is raising money to support Mandanda's kids and the crafts the makes which will be made during this craft session. Uh it will help to Douglas Mcmillian Hospits. When Charlotte asked me to join and donate a printable, it really hit close to home because of recent loss in my own family. And uh at the start I only planned to make few pages but that little idea grow into full collection 29 pages and there are prepared in A4 and US letter size. So the whole kit is for free for everyone. The style in this kit was very much inspired by Manda. Charla told me a lot about how she was, that she was bold, unique, and a bit of rebel, that she loved urban and industrial style, chipped paint, and metal and bright colors. I actually got the colors from a photo of Manda wearing some beautiful patterned leggings. I use those colors, those bright shades, but soften them much uh my vintage style of journals. Some pages are busy and creative and fill it with boots and brick walls and cool textures. I also added some color backgrounds so your photos and notes have some briefing room. The empty frames are perfect for photos, journaling, and for creating those special touches in your journals or in your photo albums. My collection is not only one uh contribution to this craft marathon. Uh several other designers and creators are generously supporting Charles Craftathon. Uh there are my porch prints, uh Louis Haynes, Downh Home Charms, Pink Monarch Prince, and Zindigo Studio, and myself, and of course Charla, who also has created beautiful collection full of coord coordinating cards, ts, and memory prompts. Jera will be using these kits from all of us to make journals and notebooks. And she also designed template for really cool suitcase style memory album that opens up to show layers of photos and stories. And this is exactly what I do love about this paper craft about creating journals and photo albums. It can help us to preserve stories and memories. And for writing your memories, you need to have some pen and some ink. And with this thought, I'm moving slowly to today's uh design and today's stepbystep tutorial how you can create this double ink. Well, stand. This is not free printable. This is on my Etsy right now. I will put link down below. It does have few pockets. It does have also these cute little inks which are actually pockets as well. The video was originally made for my Patreons, but because I do have amazing customers on my Etsy. Uh, I know they will appreciate if I will show them how I originally meant to do my my digital designs. Uh I'm going to be gluing them to my forgotten workshop journal. uh before I will glue them inside. Uh I would like to cut the windows here in these two and I'm just going to follow the image here of that label. So instead of that label I will place aate sheet. And now to these windows I will add that acetate. I do have there uh I do have here these two pieces. They are some kind of leftovers. So, I'm just going to place them here and yeah, and glue them all around. So, I do have those acetate pieces inside. I hope you can see that. Now, to be able to slide this inside, I need to make a cut. And that cut has to be kind of like sideways. So, I'm going to be following here between the bottle and between the lid. I'm going to go this way and here. Make a cut right under the lid like this. and then try if I will fit in there with my little cute little [gasps] uh top piece like this. When I will glue it down, I will make sure that it's holding nicely properly. I will show you how to continue. So, same cut I'm going to do on that opposite side. like this. And I'm going to take my blue ink and slide it there just to make sure I can fit in there. Maybe a little bit more here. and like this. Good. So there will be blue ink and there will be sepia ink like this. So now how to make it stronger, not flimsy, not this way. For that we do have this piece here. And we will take some um old acetate piece back. You need long strip of acetate. You can fold it on half or if you do have some leftover from back which does have already kind of like pocket style shape that will be totally perfect. You're going to flip this over and you will use double-sided tape for this one. You will put double-sided tape on those lids here. here and here between I'm going to take bigger double-sided tape and cover this between. I will need to keep here enough space for my little tucks. So if you will keep them inside just to make sure you know where they will go. So you will don't put there accidentally too much double-sided tape. And because I'm gluing that acetate piece that's why I'm using double-sided tape. And here I forgot. Just don't put your double-sided tape on the fold here on the bottom. So I'm going to fold it. Unfold it. Come on Eie. Yeah, it's always something when I am uh on the camera. I'm going to roll it roll it up. It doesn't look a little bit complicated right now, but I'm telling you it's just few steps you need to create or you need to do and you will have one beautiful interesting pocket. So before you will start to put the double-sided tape, just fold this one to the front. Then you will don't put accidentally double-sided tape on that part. I'm going to cut it off here because it will get stuck [snorts] inside and I don't want that. I'm going to rip it off. Oh yeah. So, I do have double bid tape here. And then I'm going to put my ducks inside. And then I would like to have also glued this part. So there I'm going with this double-sided tape just to keep there in uh enough of space for that tuck. So, I'm going to go here and here. Now, I'm going to probably keep these stacks here for now. I'm going to take off all backing paper from my double-sided tapes. And I'm going to take this And I totally forgot I want to have this one here as well. So just going to have a look. [snorts] No, I'm doing it right. No, no, no. Just just bear with me, guys. Yeah, I will sort out my my head. uh this piece, this acetate piece, I'm going to place it kind of very very generously over the top because on that back of my acetate, one sheet will be glued to this and on that back acetate, I will actually glue this one to kind of reinforce it. So, I do have this pocket style of acetate and I'm going to place it with nice amount here on the top. I can place that this one actually just to give myself you know the right position and if I want to have this as a pocket look at me I need to think you know I'm thinking to explain you right way and then I forgot to think that here on the bottom I do have that pocket so that pocket here on the bottom I can actually place with this bottom oh my Guys, [snorts] sometimes my brain just need a little bit kick like this. So I do have here on the bottom that fold of my acetate. That way I will have there immediately pocket which I actually need to have there that pocket. Now [snorts] I can put double-sided tape on this one. >> [snorts] >> I'm not going to glue it straight away because I will definitely ruin it. I'm going to get up my scissors. I'm going to slide it out this one and slide out this one. I'm going to take my scissors and very carefully here around I can go up. But here, this one, I will don't cut that back paper. I'm going to fold it down. And here I'm going to follow the shape of this front piece and cut it out around. I do have cuted this top. And now on this side I'm going to follow again the edge of my uh design and just cut it straight up like this. So now I should have just that back piece here. I can take off this one and place it in the back. Going to probably place it this way. I'm going to first hold it here and then place it down and hope for the best. Like this. Am I [clears throat] straight? Oh, no. I'm not. Okay. Well, few more times and I will bet get there. [laughter] Hold it here. down like this. So I do have that back side. Now I can cut around like this. So, there are visible here and there a little bit of pieces from that tape, but I'm totally okay with that right now. Uh, I'm going to take this one, place it here. And now I can see where I am able to glue these parts together because this front window it's between between this acetate and this acetate. This here I do have two acetate. So, if I will put double-sided tape on this side, it doesn't interrupt my pocket here, which is perfect. And it will help me to hold that back of this together. So, I'm going to put that this this way. Flip it over. And around it, I can place double-sided tape. I'm going to slide off this one so I can see my windows. And I'm going to place this here kind of like equally. So then I can see better way where I can go with my double-sided tape. Here and here just to make sure everything will get glued. And here. And here. I think I left that enough of space for that tuck and now holding it down. And I can go from here. I need to swap my hands because here I do have carpal tunal and right now I don't feel that acetate. So I'm going to use my hand this one and very slowly I'm going to just roll it up and then when I will want to glue it on my page. I actually don't need this one if I don't want to have another pocket behind it. I do have pocket here between bottles and that montel [snorts] in there. I do have one pocket here on this side. I do have another pocket here on this side. And they are nice pockets. They are holding really well. And I forgot. Look at me. Hola. I wanted to do cut here. Please uh just right now before you will glue down that acetate uh this acetate which is holding all together. So I've been able to kind of unglue that back. I glue it again that [snorts] back acetate sheet. So, I'm going to leave it open and I'm going to get up my knife and do actually these cuts here. I'm going to do one [snorts] slot in a spot here. like this and another slot just above it. And it's actually good that I do have that that acetate piece and I did glue it all the way because now it makes this paper even stronger. So probably it was good mistake. So now one slot here. Tada. I have glue it glued that back where it's supposed to be. This should be slide inside like it. Oh, I like it. And this should be lift up a little bit like this. I do have these two slots. And I do have a pocket behind. Oops. Yeah, it's flying everywhere. This will be over there. This can be behind it like that. And this can be here at the front if I will want. So, or on other side like this. And now when I do have all my pocket prepared, I can find a spot where I will want to place it. How about here? That could work together with those frames. It looks like a cabinet wall or office wall. And I do have here my office desk. Can place it here. No, I like it more here. Okay, it's going to be here. So, when I want to add it to my page, I can totally put my double-sided tape on all this background and glue it just down or I can create another pocket. Can I? I do believe I can. So, because it does have that acetate here, I'm going to use my double-sided tape again. And I go straight down and straight down. Same here from that side. Straight down and [clears throat] straight down. And I'm going to add double-sided tape also on this flap so everything will hold nicely. With this I will actually add another pocket. So it will be multi multi multi pocket here and here. I'm going to lift this up. We do have that pocket. Design it. And now back to my journal. Open it. Open it and place it right there. Oh, with that paper, this is English timetable. With that paper in the back, I think it looks awesome. So I can place this one actually in the behind [laughter] and I can have these two here behind.
