Following the flea market, the car show will offer a wide array of competitions ranging from trucks and cars to motorcycles, with registration closing at noon for an event that runs until 2:00 p.m. Participants can enter their vehicles or bikes to compete in categories such as best Ford, best GM, best Dodge, best motorcycle, and best burnout, with a $15 entry fee per vehicle. Beyond the competitions, the day will feature various fundraising booths, including the volleyball team selling loaded sodas and holding a bake sale, while the Flat Gap Boosters will offer hot dogs, chips, and drinks. These activities are intended to create a festive atmosphere where locals can showcase their vehicles and enjoy food together.

Coming up Saturday, the 5th, at 6:00
a.m. will be the Flat Gap Elementary
Flea Market. Later that day, starting at
9:00 a.m., they'll be hosting their car
show as well. Sign up is $15 per person,
and the community is invited to come out
and enjoy the day together. Here we have
Denise Eastep, the Family Resource
Center Coordinator, to tell us more
about the flea market.
>> We had it last spring, and we had like
25 vendors. I mean, some people were
making $500, some people made 200. We
also had our girls uh volleyball team
set up
uh a loaded sodas, and they and that
goes to support their needs, their
jerseys, and things like that.
It just helps everybody. This event will
help our school all the way around. We
have right now about 20 vendors coming
and setting up. It's more of like I
don't know if you remember how the flea
market at Saffell's used to be. That's
what I'm going for, that vibe. Just
stuff from people's houses that they
don't want anymore, they just want to
make extra money. We don't really have
anybody coming and setting up with like
t-shirts or anything like that. It's all
It's all stuff like it used to be. It's
$15 for a booth, 12 by 8, and they need
to bring their own tables. Oh, yes, and
if they want to pay, go ahead and they
can go ahead and pay online

The money that we make from the flea
market goes to the Family Resource
Center. It helps supply our families
with food when they're in need. It's
going to help with Angel Tree Christmas
gifts. It'll help with clothing for the
kids.
That's what the $15 uh fee is going to.

Montgomery to tell us more about the car
show.
>> So, our car show starts at 9:00 and it
goes until 2:00. Our registration ends
at 12:00.
Uh we have all kinds of different awards
that you can win. Uh registration costs
$15 per car. Um they're doing best Ford,
best GM, best Dodge, best best
motorcycle,
um best burnout. So, make sure you come
out and bring your car, bring your
motorcycle, and enter our competition.
We'll have lots of other booths set up
at the same time. Our volleyball team
will be set up selling loaded sodas, and
team is also having a bake sale. And
then our Flat Gap boosters, they'll be
selling hot dogs and uh chips and a
drink. One of our big events that's
coming up on September 25th, we are
having our Farm and Field Day. It'll be
our third annual Farm and Field Day, and
all of our students are going to be
talking about the history of Flat Gap,
uh the history of farming in this area,
and also presenting on farm equipment
that's used in the Flat Gap area. So, we
would love for anybody that would like
to stop by. We will have a rotation
going for just general guests, and there
will also be rotations going for
students in the Johnson County area and
surrounding areas.
