Video summary
Topwater fishing is presented as the most thrilling method for catching bass, setting the stage for a return to the legendary "15-pounder pond" where the anglers aim to catch fish on an unprecedented variety of lures. The rules for this unique challenge are straightforward: every time a fish is landed, the angler must reach blindly into a bucket filled with random topwater baits and select the next lure without peeking. This process continues until they run out of options or decide to save specific "wild card" lures for later. The video documents their journey through this chaotic yet exciting format, starting with standard offerings like walking baits and ploppers before moving into more unusual territory that includes vintage lures, frogs, buzz baits, and even a 100-year-old wooden spy bait.
Throughout the day, the anglers successfully catch fish on a diverse array of equipment, ranging from modern spinning rods to heavy-duty baitcasters equipped with stout hooks designed for thick cover. They experiment with various patterns, including bluegill-colored Mach Patrols, rattlesnake lures that mimic realistic prey, and hollow-body rats that function similarly to frogs. The fishing conditions are described as exceptional, with bass aggressively attacking almost anything presented, leading to a high number of successful catches on different baits within a short period. Despite the constant action, there are moments of tension when hooks get tangled or when massive strikes result in missed opportunities due to the sheer power of the fish or interference from alligators lurking nearby.
As they progress through the bucket, the excitement builds with each new lure, culminating in the use of a massive "Mr. Ducky" designed primarily for muskies and pike rather than bass. This final bait produces an explosive strike that nearly hooks the elusive 15-pounder, though it ultimately escapes after a fierce battle involving multiple alligators. The video concludes with a reflection on what was likely one of the best days of topwater fishing in years, highlighting the joy of catching fish on such a wide variety of lures and the unique challenges posed by the pond's heavy alligator population. The experience is summed up as an unforgettable adventure filled with aggressive bites, close calls with wildlife, and the sheer fun of testing every possible topwater option available.

Top water fishing is by far the most
exciting way to catch a fish. And today
we're back at one of the craziest bass
ponds that I've ever fished, the 15
pounder pond. In the previous video,
Fletcher hooked into an absolute
monster, but unfortunately, we were not
able to land it. So today, we're back on
the hunt. And the rules are simple.
Every fish that you catch, you have to
reach your hand into a bucket and grab a
random top water lure. Our goal is to
see how many different top water lures
we can catch [music] a fish on. And
let's just say the fishing today was
unreal.
>> Oh gosh.
Yes. Yes.
>> [laughter]
>> Oh hey. Oh my no, no, no, boy.
We almost got one [music] in the finger
THERE, GUYS. OH.
>> [laughter]
>> DUDE, NO WAY, BRO. We are finally back
out at the 15 pound wonderland, man.
Give us a round of applause. Me and
Fletcher tried to come out here a few
months ago. The water was blown out. And
today, it looks beautiful out here. We
hear the fish blowing up. And we're
going to be throwing some top waters for
this 15 pound giant, son. Come on, no.
Yes, sir. And if y'all take a close look
here, we got buckets full of top water
lures. We got regular stuff like walking
baits. And we even have crazy stuff like
100 year old top waters, ducks, bugs,
you name it, we got it. We're going to
see how many different top waters we can
catch a fish on today. So we're going to
randomly reach our hand in this bucket.
We are not going to peek. There's no
peeking, Fletcher. No cheating.
>> Dude, I might take a little sneak peek,
right?
>> No cheating. We're going to grab a
random top water lure. We're going to
tie it on. We're going to catch fish on
it. Then guess what? We go back to the
bucket.
Draw a random lure, tie it on, [music]
catch one, and so on.
>> So we're just going straight through the
bucket. Every time we catch a fish,
we're changing lures?
>> Yep. That is it, man. That is it. We're
going to see how many different lures we
can catch a fish on today. All top
waters.
>> Dude, I'm going to smoke you. I'm
getting through my whole bucket. I'm
already telling you.
>> You're going to empty the whole
>> I'm emptying the whole thing. I would
love to see it.
>> I'm going to have to start reaching into
your bucket.
>> [laughter]
>> Hey, I got a I got a pretty crazy one.
And I matter of fact, I'm not going to
be grabbing this bait until later on in
the video, guys, cuz this thing right
here produces some massive bites.
So, actually, Fletcher, I'm taking this
one out, bro. We're saving this This is
This is my You can pick one wild card
that you're going to save like until
later.
>> Ooh, okay. I'm going to go with the
snake.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> The old slithery boy. We're going to put
that to the side, and I can pick that up
at any point?
>> At any point in time.
>> Okay.
>> Yep. That's your one like mystery random
item.
>> All right. Well, here it goes nothing,
dude. I'm going to grab my first
topwater. Let's see what we get.
The old popping pickle boy. That was
>> [laughter]
>> That's probably my favorite topwater in
the whole bag or in the whole bucket.
Well, yeah, we got an old popping
pickle. You guys know we have caught so
many giants on this puppy, [music]
and this is going to be the perfect
topwater to start off with.
>> Well, I guess that means it's my turn,
guys. Let's uh rumble the bucket up.
>> I'm just going to reach in here and grab
the the first thing I get my hands on.
It looks like we got the whole bucket,
but the one thing that I do have in my
hand is this big walking bait. This
thing is a meaty boy.
>> You don't want to tie on the whole
train, dude?
>> I might as well just put all of this on.
>> We need to film a video like that. If
you guys want to see that, let us know.
We need to tie like five topwaters
alongside each other and see if we could
actually catch multiple fish on them.
That would be crazy.
>> It's like an Alabama rig, but topwater
style.
>> That is what I'm working with here
today. Got this big old silver walking
bait, and this thing says Amazon on it.
I don't know if that's cuz I got it on
Amazon or
if it's built for the Amazon. That
probably makes more sense. But, there
you go, guys. Let's get this sucker tied
on. So, I brought two different rods
with me today. We have the Kicking Their
Bass TVX Lew's V2. This is the new and
improved OG rod, but I did bring an OG
out, and we are still selling these on
the website, guys. So, if you head over
to kickintheirbass.com, you can get the
OG, or you can get the new V2. We have
this one in a medium, a medium heavy,
and a heavy, but the medium heavy is out
of stock at the moment. But go ahead and
go over to the website and check because
it could be back in stock. But this one
right here is all 7-ft medium heavy. So,
if we don't have this one in stock, you
could always get the original OG combo,
which we all love. But I think for the
old frog, I'm going to have to go with
my heavy rod, guys. I'm not going to
lie, Noah. I don't know
>> fully equipped with the right gear to
throw this big walking bait, but we're
going to try to throw it on my 7-ft
medium heavy spinning rod. Should be
able to get the job done.
>> rod?
>> Yeah, I'm going to throw it on a
spinning rod. Dude, I honestly like
throwing walking baits or anything you
have to twitch a lot better on a
spinning rod for some reason.
>> Well, I'm going to be throwing my frog
on the V2, guys, cuz this is actually a
7'3 heavy, and that's going to be
perfect for our frog. You can get a
little more
heaviness in that rod, a little more
backbone, and
get that frog into that fish.
And I would say any of the walking baits
or anything else we can put on that
original the OG combo. Looks like we're
rigged and ready to go, ladies and
gents. Let's go ahead and get
crackalacking. Butchers, today's the
day.
>> Today might be the day.
>> You hooked into him in one of the last
ones, and people roasted you, by the
way.
>> you, dude. I don't even want to get into
it.
>> People roasted
We'll pop all the comments on the
screen. People swore you hooked into a
stump. And I saw it with my own two
eyes. I believe you had a fish.
>> Thank you.
>> I'll believe you. I'll I'll back you up
on it. I saw it.
>> Dude, I'm not I'm not joshing anyone's
thoughts when I tell you I had a fish on
that cast. All right, guys, let's get to
casting. Oh gosh. Let's not do that. Oh
my Dude, I already have a baby gator
coming up to my frog. Look at him. First
cast, he's just he's amped.
Dude, that gator is no bigger than 15
in. Look how tiny that little guy is,
man.
Dude, they love topwater. So, that giant
fish in question that I missed was
sitting right about where I'm casting
here. There's a big submerged tree
that likes to hold
a fish or two. See if anybody's home
today. I'm sure somebody's home, but do
they want to come up and eat this
massive topwater? That's a whole
different question. I'm going to cover a
good bit of water today, guys. I'm going
to just put the trolling motor down.
Cast this frog in the best spots that we
can put it in. I really hope we get
something nice today.
Get
Get one of those Oh, did I Did I just
have a chaser?
Did I have a I think I just had a
chaser.
There was a big swirl. Scott, check the
replay there. Did I have something come
up after my my lure, or was that just a
big wake from the trolling motors? While
this technically isn't a competition,
guys, I want to catch more fish than
anyone does today. So, we're going to
lock in here. See if we can't get
something started on this big topwater.
Just need to break the ice. Any action
yet, man? I had one chaser, I think.
There was a big swirl by the boat. It
could have been the trolling motor
kicking up water, but I'm pretty sure it
was a fish. I know I asked Scott to show
replay. You got to review the play. I
swear if it wasn't a fish, these people
are really going to think I didn't catch
a fish on that last on that last video.
[laughter]
Yeah, they're just going to be thinking
you're dancing their tots all the time,
dude. I'll tell you guys, all we need is
this first bite. Once we get this first
topwater blowup, we're going to be
cruising. I am surprised, honestly, we
haven't got a bite yet. This bank looks
really good. How are you not a Oh, baby,
there
Oh, that's a good one, dude.
>> [laughter]
>> Oh, that's a really good fish, man. It's
probably a 3-pounder.
It's close to it, if not.
Come here, baby girl.
Come here Oh, come here.
Yeah. Oh, yeah, that's a 3-pounder all
day, sonny.
Woo! There we go, baby. We were just
talking about throwing in those holes on
the trees, guys, and that spot looks so
good. I couldn't believe we There wasn't
a fish there, and he came out of nowhere
and demolished it. Look at that frog in
the back of his throat. And that is
topwater number one complete, guys. We
are one off the books.
And we are going to be reaching our hand
back in this bucket and grabbing us a
random one, man. Holy cow, what a
beautiful bass. That is every bit of 3
lbs
right there.
Little low three number. Thank you,
honey.
Woo!
Hey, you got to start somewhere, man.
Yes, sir. Come on.
I am unfortunately dealing with a
tangled bait here. I got hog-tied around
my front hook, so I'm having to re-tie.
But the dancing glizzy will be back in
action in no time. The dancing glizzy.
That's a little sus, dude. I don't know
about that. I don't know if I support
that name for that bait. All right, here
we go, guys. Mystery bucket. Hand in the
bucket.
And we are going to grab something. Oh
my gosh, what is this? Is this what I
think it is? This is honestly another
really good bait. Oh, yeah.
Okay.
>> [music]
>> So we have the Mach Patrol. And this is
actually in bluegill color. There's
actually another Mach Patrol in here in
white, and usually that's my go-to
color. Well, I'm going to tell you guys
right now, it is not a bad idea to be
throwing bluegill colored baits. You
know, the last couple of months, bass
have been bedding. Now they're done
bedding. Bluegill have pushed up, and
they've made a bunch of brim beds.
>> [music]
>> And this is actually going to be perfect
to throw along some of this grass, and I
feel like I'm going to get some of these
really aggressive bass to attack this
thing. There's not many times where I'm
like, "Hey, this is the color we need to
be throwing." but I actually feel really
[music] good about it, man. Really good.
And we're actually going to keep the
frog on my V2.
And since uh we have a treble hook bait,
I'm going to put it on a 7-ft medium
heavy here.
>> [music]
>> And we're going to go with the old OG,
man. We We thrown the OG since the V2
came out just about, [music] besides
when I'm fun fishing.
So, I'm excited to give this thing a
whip, dude. And by the way, once those
OG combos are
sold off the website, they are gone,
man. So, this is going to be your last
chance to get the old OG special [music]
cuz they will not be made anymore,
sadly. The V2 will, but not the OG. The
whole old bank edge that I'm fishing
right now, guys, is pretty shallow.
Which not as
This isn't necessarily a bad thing.
It's just I'm not sure what the fish are
doing right now.
Oh, there we go.
On the dancing glizzy boy.
All right. She's feisty.
She's feisty.
Get on in there. There we go, guys.
Check that out.
>> [music]
>> Pop that thing right off the top of the
surface. Let's try to get this out
without getting any hooks in myself.
Got a lot to
maneuver around here. Yes, sir.
A nice little one to break the ice over
here on my boat. Probably two and some
change. We're going to try to keep on
improving from there. Not the
15-pounder.
>> [laughter]
>> But hopefully we can find them once we
switch through a few baits here. Let's
cut this off and move on to the next.
>> [snorts]
>> Cool as
Dude, that bite was insane.
>> I heard that from here, boy.
>> Bro, it was Oh, gosh. It was one of
those bites that you just sounded like
it sucked it down. It was like
That was sick.
She's barely hooked, guys. We got to
land this fish.
Come on.
This is going to give us three lures
complete if we can land this one. That's
a good bass, too, dude. Not a bad one at
all. Come here, baby. That's a good 2
and 1/2 pounder. Come here, baby. Oh,
yeah.
Dude, that was such a cool blowup. Hey,
you can't beat topwater blowups, dude.
There's something about it, dude. Just
get your blood pumping. I don't care if
you're a fisherman or not. That's got to
get your blood boiling. [music]
There we go, boys. We got the patroller
in the bluegill pattern knocked off the
list, and that is a good quality fish,
guys. That is three lures.
We just got two knocked off. Fletcher
got the old big boy knocked off. We're
going to be moving on to another bait.
Another bait and another journey.
Peace out, dude. Well, I want to get
back in there, guys. Let's go ahead and
pick our second lure.
It looks like we got a plopper.
Nothing too crazy. Just a nice little
plop. Let's give this thing a toss. Did
you just catch that one on a plopper?
Yes, sir. All right, I got the same
thing on, guys. Let's see if we can get
quick success just like Noah. Oh, that's
the big one though, ain't it? Yeah, this
one's a little This one's for the big
boys, dude. Oh, yeah. I'm probably going
to catch like the smallest fish possible
on it now now that I said that. to say
that's the 15-pounder plopper. All
right, here we go, guys. Magical hand in
the bucket.
Oh, go.
Oh, boy.
>> [laughter]
>> They're
chomping today. That's a good fish,
boys.
That is a good fish. Oh, no, she's
barely hooked. She's barely hooked.
She's like a good four.
GET IN HERE. YES!
WELL, HOW ABOUT THAT, ladies and gents?
Our second fish of the day pushing
probably [music] about 4 lb. Really
healthy quality fish. And as you can
tell, this one is super dark compared to
probably some of the other bass we're
going to catch today, and that is a
telltale [music] sign that this fish has
been sitting up under that mat all day
long away from the sun. And this is what
I like to call
>> [music]
>> a camper. This guy likes to camp and
wait for his bait to come right to him,
and that Whopper Plopper was calling his
name.
Let's go ahead and get this thing cut
off, and we are moving on to bait number
three. Well, guys, I got distracted by
Fletcher, but we got a white buzz toad
on a buzz bait.
This is going to get very interesting.
You guys have been asking me about
throwing a buzz bait, and we got you a
buzz bait right now, boys. So, let's go
ahead and tie this thing on and get to
casting. I think we're going to get a
sick eat with how they're biting right
now on this thing.
We're tied up to Noah, guys. We're going
in for our third bait here.
Dude, we're picking out the same baits.
I just got a buzz bait.
>> [laughter]
>> Dude, I feel like I feel like I'm going
with the buzz. I'm not re-drawing. I'm
not resorting to that. Yeah, mine's got
the actual like toad on here. So, hey,
let's see which one catches the bigger
fish. Will the actual toad on the back
of a buzz bait be better than a normal
buzz bait? I'm actually very excited to
throw this down this bank here because
we have some laydowns that open up down
here on this right side of the bank, and
I feel like getting this thing within
this crevices on the bank and the
laydowns is going to be money. So, I'm
actually going to I'm going to steam
past this
and get up by those trees.
We're going to get hammered. That's just
[laughter]
It looks too good.
>> [gasps]
>> I'm telling you, bro.
Yeah, dude. It It just looked way too
good. It looked way too good.
Oh gosh, this is a big 'un.
Woo!
Dude, this is actually fishing insane
right now. This might be the best
fishing I've gotten into all year, and
I've had some good fishing so far. Oh
dude, I barely got this fish pinned,
bro.
This is a high 3 pounder.
Ah, SHE'S GOT ME.
OH, SHE'S SOAKING ME, DUDE. I'M soaking
wet.
Oh my goodness, Sally. That's close.
Dude, that is every bit Hold on.
I'm sorry, boys. Y'all are wet. I'm
actually drenched, dude.
My glasses I look like I wet my pants.
It's in my eyeballs.
But, we did get a dang crazy buzz toad
bite. How many lures we completed so
far? Is that five?
>> That's five.
>> Okay. Five lures complete. Got a
freaking nice one on the buzz toad. He
actually hit it twice. They're amped up
today, dude. When they're hitting like
that, that's how you know they're
eating.
All right, baby. Thank you for the bite
even though you got me soaked.
Thank you.
Thank you, baby.
She's going to soak me again, ain't she?
No, she's not.
>> [laughter]
>> Gosh, what's going, dude?
We are rolling, Fletch.
I can't believe you didn't get a bite
down that.
>> Me, too, honestly.
>> Oh, there goes one. Oh, there we go.
Speak it into existence, Noah.
Speak it into existence.
And that's fish number three and bait
number three complete. Dude, what is
going on? I don't know.
But, uh there's a good chance we get
through this whole bucket in like half
an hour.
Well, there we go, guys. Our third fish.
A little bit on the smaller side. Our
smallest one yet, but good to know
there's a little variety of size biting
today.
>> [snorts]
>> Hopefully the next one's a little bit
bigger. And in the buckets, mix it
around.
Oh, gosh. I got a rat, dude.
I got a ratatouille. Yeah. I swear if I
pick out a rat right now, I'm going to
be I'm going to be crazy I just going to
be crazy.
Okay. I almost got a rat. I got the
duck.
>> [laughter]
>> We got some crazy lures coming out now,
man. I don't know if we we've threw a
lot of the regular baits. Like, most of
these baits are going to be crazy from
here on out. And y'all can see kind of
what we got in here. Attached to my
lure, we got a small whopper plopper. We
got a little rat. Just a few other
goodies in there as well.
But, uh let's tie on this small duck.
It's a little smaller than the one Noah
put to the side by a good margin. So,
I'm hoping we get a nibble on it.
So far the So far the fish are telling
me they're going to bite just about
anything we throw at them today. Look at
the way the fish torqued my little buzz
bait there. I mean, look at that. I
don't know if I've ever had a fish just
torque my whole thing around like that.
That's kind of wild, especially for a
small fish. So guys, this rat's actually
pretty cool because you know, you have
big topwater wet rats that are like more
of a wake bait. Um and some other like
hard topwaters that are rats. But this
one's actually a hollow body
rat that's pretty much very similar to a
frog. I mean, you're going to be able to
fish this in pretty much all the areas
you could fish a frog. And this is
overall one of my favorite rats to
throw. So, we going to see what we get
into. I actually rigged her up on the
old V2, the heavy rod here.
That's why it's good to have multiple
rods, guys.
You can do a little bit of everything
here. You can put my treble hook baits
on my medium heavy, put some of my frogs
and other topwaters like that on my
heavy rod, and we are good and rocking.
All right, dude, we're on pace for a
pretty crazy day, bro, like
this might be the day for the 15. Dude,
the 15 better show himself. Or just I
like to see his like little brother,
like the runt of the family, the
10-pounder,
you know? So, I don't know if you guys
see that, there's actually a fish under
me right now.
It's a bluegill.
So, right up there
So, right up there, if you guys look,
you see all those light spots?
And those are just little circles. Those
are brim beds up there. And that's
exactly what I was talking about
earlier.
So, brim are all up on bed and these
guys, I can only assume are roaming
around. So, if you present anything
that's like a bluegill to them, they're
going to be freaking
fired up. Only one of my feet is working
on my duck. Only this right one is
spinning, or maybe it's the left one.
That might be an issue for us, but with
the way the fish are biting, hopefully
it doesn't affect it too much. See,
what's weird about this uh tree line
here, guys, is we usually don't get a
ton of bites on it, but it looks so
good.
It's one of those things that I feel
like these bass in this lake prioritize
the grass over the laydowns.
Which I I see this from time to time
depending on the lake that I'm fishing
where fish would just primarily get on
trees or they'll primarily get on grass.
And I think it's one of those things in
here
that uh
they just love
getting on the grass in this lake.
Yes!
Third time's the charm.
On the ducky.
He ate it three times before I got him.
Come here, Mr. ducky.
There we go, guys. Our next fish on the
duck. [music] And this guy really wanted
that thing. He went after it three times
before he finally got it in his mouth.
And he just barely got one of the hooks.
So,
>> [music]
>> I appreciate the nibbles there, guy.
I'll let you on your way so you can
catch another little something something
to eat. Unfortunately, this
duck is not going to curb your appetite.
I apologize. Dude thought he was eating
good today.
>> [laughter]
>> He ate the wrong duck. Well, here we go,
guys. Diving back into the bucket. Let's
see what we got.
Ooh! A little sunfish. Okay.
Finally got myself a frog style bait.
So, for this lure, guys, I'm actually
going to switch up my rod here.
We're going to go with my
big heavy-duty bait caster because we
want a little bit more backbone for
these frog style baits. And as you can
tell, we got some pretty stout hooks on
here. This thing is built to go into the
thickest of cover and come out with a
big fish. So, we want a rod that
complements that.
Ooh!
Oh, boom!
Dude,
I was about to say this bank sucks, and
I had three of them come up under that
rat right there.
I looked at my rat, dude, and they're
just all up under it.
Oh, he destroyed this thing.
He actually broke the rat, dude. I'm
pretty sure he messed it up. One or the
other.
He did something. Come here, Mr.
Rattatouille.
Mr. Rattabass.
Woo!
Look at that, baby. We are cruising,
man. You got to love catching a fish on
a freaking rat, bro. This is one of
those rats that you can get a lot of
bites on, too, guys. Since it's like the
same profile as a frog, I just feel like
it's a really good It's a really good
overall bait. Is it a weird one for
sure, but it gets bites, dude. It
catches really good fish like that. That
is just beautiful. Man, I just love
being out here, guys. Just a blessing
catching fish on topwater right now and
enjoying this beautiful weather that we
have. It's a blessing.
Thank you, buddy. Appreciate the middle.
Back in action. Let's get this little
sunfish in there.
Good chance we get one on this first
cast. I'm not going to lie. This is a
juicy little looking spot. Well, here we
go, dude. Another draw in the bucket.
What are we getting?
We got us another uh patroler, dude.
Should I even fish with that since we
already fished for one?
>> I don't know. I feel like you should
redraw.
>> I agree.
I agree with that statement.
>> [laughter]
>> Okay.
It's getting a little weird.
I mean, it's a regular Whopper Plopper.
It's not a patroler.
I don't know, dude. I was just throwing
random stuff in there.
I almost set that one to the side, too.
Okay, this is more like it.
Guess what I got.
The old snake, dude. The old
rattlesnake.
That's a good option. That is a killer
option. Like, dude, we've caught fish on
a bunch of different baits today, but
this is going to be
This is going to be the money, dude.
I want to see a crazy eat on this. I
love throwing that snake bait. It's a
fun lure. Dude, you can't tell me there
ain't a fish in this little nook. This
is like one of the most productive spots
on this pond consistently.
And maybe they just all migrated to this
little lily pad patch over here. That's
possible I suppose. Get ready for some
action here guys. We're going into the
pads.
We're going to try to work out the edge
of them first.
See if anyone's hanging out right
on the perimeter
guarding the entrance. All right guys,
here goes nothing with the old
rattlesnake man. I think we can get a
crazy eat on this. It might take us a
second. Sometimes they can be a little
picky with the snakes which I don't
blame them because I do not like snakes
either.
But it looks really good.
I mean dude, it looks so natural. That
is the one thing about this snake lure.
It probably looks more realistic than
any bait I've ever thrown. I mean look
at the action of this thing in the water
guys.
Look at that.
Yeah. Yeah, there's one in the back. Got
him.
Got him.
Come on son of a gun. Get on in here.
We're moving up boys. We are moving up.
So remove that garash you got on there
buddy.
And then we'll get a hold of you and get
that bait out of there.
>> [laughter]
>> Let's go.
We are about to go on to our next lure,
but here's a quick look at what I just
caught. A nice little 2 pounder.
Probably right on the number honestly. I
don't think a
an ounce less or an ounce more.
Right at two.
Dude, oh. Oh my gosh, I'm freaking out.
I'm losing my marbles. Hold on.
I'm actually losing my marbles. Oh, HE'S
STILL ON THERE.
OH. [screaming]
DUDE, NO WAY BRO. That was actually
insane. Like when you get three bites on
a snake in one cast bro, there's an
issue. You got a problem.
He has no fighting him though dude. He's
just let me log him in.
There we go guys. That's a good little 2
pounder on the snake lure. I did not
expect to catch one that quick on that
thing. I think today is just a special
day.
You do not get many special days like
today where you're just getting bites
like that. Well, there we go, guys. That
is [laughter] sick to catch one on a
snake, especially that quick. We were
only throwing that thing for 5 minutes,
>> [music]
>> and we got slammed by this puppy. He hit
it twice on that first cast, and then I
had to just pitch it back in there, and
he hammered it. I could see his shadow
living right up under that snake, but
I'm telling you, man, like spots like
that, little indentations and crevices,
any
uh irregularities in the bank, like
right here we have a bunch of trees and
grass, and then all of a sudden, you
have a little opening, and that is a
perfect little ambush spot for a bass to
be sitting.
Let's give the bucket a spin.
See what we got up next.
Okay.
>> [laughter]
>> Finally got something a little
different, Noah.
>> What you got?
>> We got a 100-year-old topwater. So, this
guys right here is a 100-year-old
topwater lure, and this thing is more
specifically kind of like a spy bait
style. So, I'm hoping that this will be
successful. We'll get this tied on and
see what we can do with it. All right,
man.
Ow.
It ain't that sharp putting your hand in
a bucket of sharp treble hooks. There we
go, guys.
We've thrown just about every topwater
in the books today besides a walking
bait. I know Fletcher started off the
video with that absolute monster walking
bait, but right here we have a black
sexy dog. This is a really good
topwater, guys. Just walking the dog
covering water. If you guys [music] look
on this pattern, this is actually a
black topwater, but it has some gold,
green, and purple flake in it. And this
thing overall just looks really good. I
think we're going to get slammed, dude.
Absolutely slammed.
Let's see if we got any old grandpa bass
that want some classic Americana on the
end of my line.
Come on. Where my grandpas at?
You like your old-timey lures?
Looking for that big old 15 pounder.
This tree line looks really good. And
this is something I can cover really
effectively. Like using a walking bait
like this is so easy to cover water. I
can kind of just get on the trolling
motor, keep going, and you can just keep
casting, guys. This is a great bait if
you're just wanting to cover water and
cover territory and just try to get the
bait in front of as many fish as you
can. This is a great option for that.
And what's really good about this
walking bait, too, is actually called a
hard knocker.
And as you guys can tell,
it's very loud.
And throwing this thing on the edge of
these laydowns can be a really [music]
good bait to just call these fish out.
Oh gosh.
Dude, I I can't.
I can't. This is the best day of fishing
I've had in a long time, dude.
All I'm doing is tying on, bro.
I'm like I've probably made I've
probably tied on as many baits as I made
casts.
Dude, like I'm throwing like five ca-
five 10 casts max, and I'll just get
eaten every time. Dude, this is unreal.
We picked the right day to do some
topwater fishing, bro. This overcast has
them fired up.
All right, guys. Well, that is the black
walking bait knocked off the list. Got
this old pretty old girl right here.
This is probably one of [music] the
smallest fish we've caught today. About
a 1 and 1/2 pounder, not a horrible one.
But, uh heck yeah, guys. That's the
walking bait
knocked out of our bucket. By the way,
right there, that's where I almost got
that hook in me. It was honestly
It was pretty close, man.
Obviously, you get past the barb, it's
going to be a little hard to get that
puppy off, man.
Guys, as bad as I want to throw this
duck lure, I know Fletcher caught one on
the smaller one, but this thing is
massive. It's probably three times as
big as the one he was fishing with. This
is actually meant for pike. And I really
want to throw this bait, but I think I'm
going to wait at least one or two more
pulls before we put this puppy on. Cuz I
feel like this could catch an absolute
tank. And we are running pretty thin on
the options. I think I only have
probably six or seven baits left in
here. So, let's see what we pull out,
man. Oh, gosh. Let's Let's just say this
bait is older than me. I mean, it's got
a It's got a hat on, dude.
I don't even know what the Are you sure
this is This is a topwater? You got the
sombrero bait? The sombrero, yeah, dude.
That is a perfect name. That's literally
the perfect name, the sombrero. It
literally looks like one. Well, this
one's going to be interesting. Is that
what you're throwing right now is a
100-year-old one? Yeah, but I got a spy
bait. It's like a or like a rip bait, I
guess. Heck, yeah. So, going from a lure
that is in the modern era right here,
pretty much a standard walking bait to
this bait that is about the same size as
the walking bait, just about 100 years
older. This is pretty crazy.
Yep. Yep. There we go.
Knew there had to be a fish up in there.
Finally.
>> [laughter]
>> You're not getting away this time, pal.
You've been caught red-handed. And it's
our smallest fish of the day on one of
the bigger lures we've thrown. I mean,
seriously, what was that guy thinking?
What What was he thinking he was going
to do with that thing down his gullet?
Oh, we almost got one in the finger
there, guys.
Almost got one in the thing. Okay,
buddy. I'll let you go
before you wiggle and get another hook
in me. I'll save the hooks for you guys.
Oh, that's crazy, guys. Yeah, so we can
walk this bait just like a walking bait,
and it honestly looks pretty identical.
The only difference is this thing is
actually made out of solid wood.
So, you're not going to hear Like, you
don't hear if I shake this.
You don't hear nothing [music] compared
to the one we just threw. So, we can
actually work this like a walking bait,
or we can pop it like a popper. That is
something we're going to have to figure
out if the fish aren't wanting to bite
us, you know, how to work it. Like, what
do they [music] want?
Spin it around one more time. See what
we get this go around.
Grab with my left hand.
And we got a Whopper Plopper. Dude, why
did you put so many Whopper Ploppers in
here? I don't know, dude. Maybe I like
Whopper Ploppers. I'm putting that one
to the side.
We'll try again.
>> Okay.
>> We got two rats. I grabbed both by
accident, but uh I guess that gives me a
choice. Do we want to go with the frog
rat or do we want to go with the
wakebait rat? Hmm. I'm kind of feeling
the wakebait rat. Let's give this thing
a shot. These fish are more of like a
flat bill style of tracking, you know
what I mean? They ain't into the
sombreros right now. But once I get down
the lane a little more, we might get
into some sombrero eaters.
I'm more of a trucker style hat type my
guy myself. I don't even know what I'm
doing. Don't even listen to me. Don't
even listen to me.
Woo!
Oh! I got him, dude.
I got him on the sombrero,
baby.
Woohoo! Oh, dude, there's a Oh my gosh,
there's a brush pile right there. I've
never noticed before. Do not go down in
the tree. He's trying to.
Come here, Mr. Sombrero bass. Let's go,
baby.
There we go, guys.
>> [laughter]
>> That is so sick, man. You know, it's
really cool switching up topwaters
today.
Throwing crazy baits, throwing some
really good modern-day baits,
>> [music]
>> but to pick up a topwater that you know
is actually older than yourself and
catch a fish on it is just such a cool
thing, man. That is [laughter] so sick.
Man, it's been a while since I fished
with the old topwater like that.
And I might have talked a little bit of
trash about the old sombrero, but dude,
I'm not going to lie, this thing is
gassed up. Beautiful markings on this
bass though. Very pretty.
Woo! All right, man.
Let's go.
All right, Fletch. This is what I'm
thinking. I'm going to draw one more
lure out of the bucket.
And then after that, I'm going to Mr.
Ducky.
>> Haha! I like that. Oh, no. I almost just
caught an alligator. So, this will be
our last bait draw before the old duck.
And we all want to see it, dude. I
haven't fished with that big boy in a
minute. Let's see what we got here. Oh
boy.
We actually have a bait that we have not
fished with today and I cannot believe
we haven't thrown it so far.
And we have ourselves a popper, guys.
This is a little Strike King popper.
It's actually in the same color as the
walking bait we had and like I said,
with the conditions today, this is
actually not a bad color and I think
we're going to get hammered on this
pretty quick. This is uh one of the best
topwater of all time. Like if I take
somebody fishing who hasn't really had
much experience with topwater, I'd
probably set them up with a popper.
Either a popper or a plopper.
There we go. Finally got one on the rat.
Golly, son of a gun, that took too long
with the way these fish are biting.
That's another small one.
This one is a little pipsqueak.
It's okay though. We appreciate our fish
of every size.
Always love a nice little quality bite.
Let's get that out of there.
There we go. Just like a I don't know,
maybe 3/4 of a pound. Just a little guy.
Get him right back on in there.
Feisty. Got a lot of energy. Now that we
got that bait cut off, guys,
let's dive back in. See, I almost took a
sneak peek.
There we go.
I got another rat.
I got another rat. This one's a frog
rat. I think I'm going to stick this one
out here, guys. Give it a shot. Or, you
know what? We fished with enough rats. I
want to see what else we got.
No, I won't put too many of the same
lures in here.
I got a small walking bait. I'll take
that. That's a little bit different.
This is like our first bait, but this is
a much smaller version of it. So, we'll
give this a quality chance to produce a
big bite. It's one of my favorite baits
to throw, so that's why I'm sticking
with it. I'm ready to slam one on this
popper and we can get Mr. Duckerson in
here.
We got to tag in see
Yeah, baby. Oh, that's a decent one,
guys.
Woo!
That is crazy. Our last fish on a normal
bait.
Woo!
That bite was sick, dude.
This was another one of these banks I
pulled up on and I look at this bank and
I see a little bit of bait popping.
I was like, oh yeah.
We need to get in there.
Oh, gosh. Yeah, that's something we do
not want to
Okay, buddy. Oh, whoa. Okay, that works.
I touched the fish.
>> [laughter]
>> Okay, I touched them. That one counts.
We're going to move on to our final
bait, guys. Being the most interesting,
the craziest looking, and the biggest
profile bait that we have in our boat
right now. And that is Mr. Senior ducky.
Let's go ahead and tie this big bad boy
on and get to work, dude. Because this
might take a while to get us a bite on,
but we're going to freaking catch one on
it. And hopefully it is the dang 15
pounder.
Let's toss her in.
Oh,
oh my [laughter]
god. That was the most aggressive bite
I've seen all day. That fish came a foot
and a half out of the water when he
hammered that
and he came off.
And he came off.
>> [laughter]
>> I hope y'all got a good look at that.
That was insane.
>> [laughter]
>> I mean, that was That was one of the
most explosive topwater bites I've had
in a hot minute. That was awesome.
Oh my gosh, that was like a shark.
That was like a shark. I don't know how
they hit it like that and don't manage
to get one of these three hooks, or I
guess technically nine hooks since
they're all trebles in their mouth. They
were aggro on that.
>> [laughter]
>> They just hit it so hard they just pop
it away from their face.
Oh, there he is again. He's coming back.
There we go.
>> [laughter]
>> So, you got to let him eat it softly.
That one didn't destroy [music] it that
type around. Honestly,
I think the hookup ratio is better when
they don't just clobber the thing.
I love they just hit it too hard and it
goes flying.
There we go.
All right, guys. Let's go ahead and we
will put him back in. And I think it's
time, guys, we move on to our last lure
that we put to the side. And that's this
little slithery boy here. We got the
snake. Noah had some luck with it, but
I'm excited to throw it myself. It's a
really fun bait to throw that can
produce some really big bites. So, let's
clip this off and see what the snake can
do. Let's go, ducky. Let's freaking go.
Got this on our
V2 heavy rod because this is a very
hefty boy. You guys look right here. I
actually saw this. There's a bunch of
bluegill beds. See all this light? These
light spots right here. I'm hoping
there's some big bass in this area.
I feel good about this right here.
Oh.
Oh my gosh, bro. Oh, dude. We got bit on
the first cast on the duck. That is
actually insane.
So, like I said before, this is not
meant for bass, guys. This is actually
meant for big musky and and pike.
So,
it's a very hefty one, but clearly the
bass are interested cuz he just hit it.
And we have caught some bass on it
before. It's time to cook. We got our
snake all rigged up. The inaugural cast
with the snake.
Let's see if it's one and done.
>> [laughter]
>> That little pocket just looks so good.
Okay, it wasn't one and done. I thought
there was a chance,
but we're going to keep it cooking. Come
on.
This got me freaking amped.
I've been excited this whole video cuz I
love topwater, but
this has got me
locked. I don't got to worry about
cutting thing and tying nothing else on.
This is the final straw.
We're living and dying by it, so.
You just got to lock in, pay attention,
make some really good casts,
and capitalize when we get that bite
that we need.
Well, it's slowing down here, guys. We
fished the whole 15-pounder pond. Kind
of picked it clean. The 15-pounder is
still
hiding from us. We know she's somewhere,
but where is she?
Which cast could be the cast? Does she
want the snake?
Does she want the duck?
Oh, there we go.
Oh, the snake. It wasn't even that good
of a cast. The snake was all wrapped up
on itself.
She just came up and smoked it, though.
Come here, honey.
Come on in here.
Well, let me see what you're working
with.
Boom, bada bing.
Oh. Oh.
Oh my gosh. Oh, is she still under it?
>> [laughter]
>> I tried to figure-eight them, dude.
Dude, that bite was aggressive, man. I
wish I could get that back.
That fish was mean. He just slammed it
right there. It's just like you're I'm
trying to find a very selective fish.
You know what I mean?
>> Oh, yeah.
It takes a special one to eat a um
full-size duckling. Oh, dude, it's
crazy.
Gosh, if I would have been able to land
one of those figure-eighting, that would
have been
so [snorts] funny. 100% should be some
bass in this little side area.
Oh, hey. Oh, oh, no, no, boy. What are
you doing? Came out of nowhere, dude.
That's why you got to keep your eyes
peeled, man. You fishing places with
gators. You never know. I mean, he's a
little squirt. He ain't going to hurt a
fly. Oh. Oh my gosh.
Oh my gosh, still coming after it.
Gator, get away from me, dude. There's a
fish under me, gator. There's a fish
under me, gator.
Stop it. No. You've been a very bad boy.
Go to time-out. That's what I thought.
[music]
Go in your corner.
Yes.
That's what I thought. Gosh, man. I had
a finally had a fish under that. There's
another gator.
Oh my god, I got gators all around me
and they're freaking big and just
Dude, if you could have saw what I just
had happen, bro.
>> What happened?
>> I don't even know, man. I got gator
galore. I got a 4-pounder knocking my
my duck all the way out of the water. I
mean, dude, if those
freaking gators weren't near me, we
could have got that fish to bite. I
promise you that.
See, we can be friends, dude. You can
just chill there. If you want to watch
it, you can [music] watch it. It's not
real, okay? I know you don't understand
that, but this is not a real duck.
I don't even know why I'm wasting my
words. This thing does has no idea what
I'm saying right now. Man, guys, well,
sometimes it goes your way and sometimes
it doesn't, but I had a blast filming
this video today, guys. One of the most
fun days I've had fishing in a very long
time. If you guys enjoyed it, hit the
like button and I appreciate y'all and
I'll catch y'all in the next. If you
enjoyed this video and want to watch
another one, check out the [music] video
