Fishing for 10lb Bass w/ LIVEBAIT!

We're back out at the famous 10 pounder pond. We've thrown big baits, frogs, and even crazy tops. And in the last episode, me and Adub [music] fish for only an hour with live bait, and this happened. >> It's a big one. It's a big one. That's a big one. >> Oh, it's a monster. >> That's the type of bass [music] you want to be catching when you're throwing live bluegill. >> We were catching big fish left and right. So, today I decided to come back out with some big live bluegill. and we're going to see if today is the day that we land the fish of a lifetime. Oh, that's a monster. Boys and girls, ladies and gents, we have finally made it back out to the 10 lb wonderland, baby. And today, we're doing something that I am super excited about. We are going to be fishing with some giant live bait for these [music] 10 lb bass. So, about 2 weeks ago, me and my boy Adub came out here. We only fished for an hour with live bait, and we were catching big bass left and [music] right. And not only that, but Adub lost a fish that I believe is probably the biggest [music] one that we have ever hooked out here in the 10 pounder pond. >> I got one, too. Big, >> dude. He just came off. I think that was an 8 pounder. I saw his body, dude. That Oh my gosh, that was not a bass, bro. So, with that happening, I had to come back out here with some live bait and try to catch some of these double digits. If there is one bait in the world to attract big fish, it is [music] a big juicy bluegill. And that is exactly what we're going to be targeting right now. So, our goal is to catch some live bait. Once we catch our live bait, we have a couple different rods in the boat that we're going to throw out there, whether it's on bottom rigs or bobbers, [music] and hunt for those giants. So, without further ado, let's get this started. So, our first step is to prep our old live bait bucket. We actually got this thing in the last episode, and I loved it. This is a neoprene, I want to say it's neopre live bait bucket. It actually has a hatch up top. That is where you reach your hand and grab the old live baits. And there's also a little hole right here. And the last time I used it, I did not use a air raator, but I did bring one today. So, without further ado, first step, let's fill this puppy up. I feel like the one thing I always forget is to fill up my live bait container before I start trying to catch the bluegill. So, today we are not doing that. We are going to fill this thing up right off the rip here and be prepared. Got to be prepared today, boys. If we're want to catch these 10 pounders, we got to be as prepared as we can be. All right, I would say that's enough water. Set that puppy right there. So, we did bring our bubble box. This is what we're going to be using as our air raator for these live bluegill. As you guys can tell, there's an on switch up here. Flick it on. Boom. Getting all that oxygen in the water. And as you guys can tell, it is bubbling in there. We do not need that thing on right now. We will turn it on when we catch some bluegill. But without further ado, let's go ahead and zip this thing up and slide her back under the seat right there. So, we are all good to go on our old live bait container. So, usually when I'm targeting bluegill for live bait, I'm pulling out a push button like a little zebco rod. I'm putting a nightcrawler on a bobber on a small [music] little pan fish hook. And that's usually how I'm catching my bluegill. You guys know we released this a few months ago and I have been having so much fun fly fishing. That was like today we just need to target the bluegill with the fly. So here's the game plan. We got this little tiny fly on our fly rod as you can tell right there. We're going to toss this thing around and try to catch our bluegill. I would say once we have six or seven bluegill, we're going to be ready to rock and roll and start casting those puppies out for the big bass. But without further ado, let's go ahead and get started and see if we can catch us a couple blue giggies. So, the one thing, guys, that I learned about this place is when I'm targeting these bluegill, I'm pretty much going to go around just like I'm fishing for bass. I'm going to fish the edge of some of these grass patches and throw up there and see if we see any activity and just kind of work down the bank and just cover a lot of water like right there on the edge of that grass just like that should be money. By the way, I have seen a lot of comments about the fly rod and a lot of you guys saying, you know, no, I haven't fly fished before. Will I be able to get this rod and fly fish? And my answer is yes. This is actually the perfect beginner setup, guys. It actually comes with a fly kit, too, with [music] five five beginner flies that you can already get out on the water. Comes with line, comes with everything you need. So, if you guys ever wanted to experiment with fly fishing, which I honestly highly recommend it, it's a total different type of fishing, but I have a ton of fun and I have been fly fishing more than bass fishing here. Come on, blue giggies, where you at? All it takes is find a little stack of them. There we go. They're biting at it. I might need to change colors, too. The sun just started to come out right now. I was more cloudy, so I was going to throw this black one, but might need to switch to more of a natural color. Gosh, right there. Oh, we got pine straw. No [laughter] way. We got more pine straw on us. That was a perfect cast. Oh. Oh. Oh my gosh. I don't know what that was. That was either a pretty good bass or a massive bluegill. There's a good bit of fish right here. We should be able to smash one. I will say if that was a bluegill, he's going to be a little too big for my liking. I might switch up my fly. I can't tell if they're just not getting the hook or if it could be the color. But I'd say we just go ahead and switch up this fly cuz there's a lot of fish here. Maybe more of a natural color. I feel like this black right here is good when there's a lot of clouds, but the sun just came out. So, let's go ahead and switch up. All right, we're going to cut this puppy off and we are going to tie on this more of a natural color here. here. I think that's going to work perfect. We're just going to keep on moving. I feel like once we find a good spot, it's going to be lights out. Oh my gosh, that was perfect. Yep. Oh my gosh, he missed it. Or he didn't miss it. He just didn't have it all the way. All right, so we just changed up our fly yet again. We just went with this white one. This white one might be the money. I just feel like it could be a little bit to do with color. They're just not committing. They're coming up to it. They're biting it. They're just not eating it. Oh yeah. Oh my gosh. There's no way. How did you not get hit? There's a big bass that just ate me. Oh my god. He came off. Holy cow. That was like a 2 and 12 lb bass. Came up and ate that thing. This hook is not hooking anything, bro. All right, they're biting right here. We just got to freaking catch them. This is one of those spots where you got to load up. There we go. Finally. Finally, we got our first blue gig. He's a good one, too, man. Oh my goodness. All right, boy. Come here. Oh my gosh. That's a giant. See, like that. [laughter] I don't know, guys. That bluegill is so freaking large. But honestly, I mean, we don't have any. It's honestly been a little struggle to catch some. So, maybe we just What do you guys think? I don't He's so big. Maybe we put them in there for right now since we don't have anything yet. Maybe we just load them up. But [music] look at that freaking bluegill. That's a monster. All right, we're going to put you in there for right now, buddy. We might take you out. You might get lucky. You might just get lucky, sir. All right, there we go, guys. That is our first bluegill. Finally. It took me a second, man. I was missing so many fish. Finally pulled up on a spot right here. Oh my gosh. I got another one. Look at [music] that. See, that's what I'm talking about, dude. That is exactly what I'm talking about. This one looks a little too big. I'm not going to lie. This one might Oh, yeah. This one's way too big. Holy cow. This thing is giant. We're not going to keep him, but that is a freaking monster bluegill, dude. Look at that thing right there. That is an absolute freak of nature. We going to need a mini pies for you, buddy. There we go. That is a freaking tank. I don't know if that's I don't [music] know, guys. I don't know. That one just seems a little too big for me. I want to get some a little smaller than that. >> What do you mean by that? >> Those big ones are aggressive, man. That's the good thing about the big ones. They'll eat it. They won't play with it like the small ones. But the problem is we need some a little smaller than that. Might need to really fish this bank, too, guys. We might need to go back through. Yeah, we got another one. Oh my god, he came off. Oh my god, he was so perfect. He just came up. It was like picture perfect. Just came up and just Oh my god, he did it again. Or a different one did. To make matters even worse in this situation where we're struggling to get some blue gigs, I hear the bass blowing up everywhere. [music] Got to freaking eat that thing, dude. They're explo Oh my gosh. Oh my god, there's a big bass. Oh gosh. I I can't hook anything right now, bro. Holy cow. I would have just caught that fish. That was like a 2 and a half pounder. He actually ate it, too. I just This hook's so small for him. I guess [music] it's too dang big for these other bluegill. Like, I don't understand. All right, guys. as we just tied on probably the smallest fly that I've ever freaking seen. I actually bought some of these last week [music] cuz I was anticipating this happening where they just weren't getting it all the way. I've never thrown a fly this small. So, we're going to see. Oh my gosh. It's actually crazy how good you can cast a fly this tiny. We should get hammered on this. When they eat this two guys, they're going to get pinned. It shouldn't be like that other fly. This one should they should technically get hooked, which is perfect because we need some bait fish a little smaller than that one we caught. Oh, he got it. He got it right there. What did we say, guys? That is a perfect freaking bluegill. There we go, guys. Finally. Dude, that is Oh my gosh. [music] This is perfect bluegill size. That is what we want, guys. Not too big, not too small. Look, he barely had that hook. Look how small that thing is. That is unbelievable. And that is [music] the perfect bluegill. We're going to get right back in there and catch us another one. There we go. Come on. That is bluegill number three. Pretty big one, but he'll do. He'll do. Oh my god. Okay. I was actually going to give him the choice whether he wanted to get in or flop in the water, [music] and that was going to be my decision to release him or not. He's a good He's a good medium large, I would say. All right, buddy. Stop. Definitely a good old little medium large bluegill. All right, guys. That is three bluegill thus far. We are heading in the right direction. I would like to get a couple more. Preferably at least two more. I don't want to get dang three bluegill and then have to come back and try to do this again. Oh my god, look at that bass right there. What in the world? What is going on? There's bass eating bluegill right now. I'm jealous. That should be us, man. I'm going to turn on that bubbler. Reason I had it turned off is cuz it's kind of annoying. But now that we got four fish in there, I feel like we need it. All right, come on. We We should be able to catch some more right here, guys. We've seen a bunch of active ones. We just got to dial it in. That is perfect. Oh my goodness. That is bass candy, guys. And it freaking came off. That is literally bass candy. So, the one downside of some that are this size compared to the last one we had, this one is bass candy. Like, they will munch this thing up. [music] But, it doesn't have as much activity. I feel like that size that we had before is like the prime, dude. Like if you want one that's going to one move in the water good and also be just a really good size for fish [music] to eat. That's the size you want. That one that we just caught, it [music] is a little small. All right, guys. We have our whole bucket of live bait here. I think we have around nine bluegill in there in a bunch of different sizes. We have some very large bluegill. We have some very small bluegill. And then we also have some perfect ones that are just right in the middle. So without further ado, we need to rig up our rods. I brought two different setups with me today. I brought a kicking their bass TV XLE V2 spinning combo and then I also brought out a Kickinger Bass XLE V2 bait caster combo. And I think what we're going to do is for the bait caster, I'm actually going to rig up a bobber rig. So, what I'm going to do is pretty much put a bobber, I would say about give or take a foot and a half up the line. Then we're going to do a split shot. And then here at the bottom, we'll have our hook, which we'll put our live bluegill on. And then after that, I'll talk about what we're going to do with our spinning rod. So, for this rig, I'm actually going to get one, a bobber. That's the first thing we need. Two, I'm going to get us a hook, which I actually really like these. These are the ones I used when me and Adub came out last. And the hookup ratio is honestly really good. More of like a straight shank hook. And then we're going to also get us just a little split shot. Just like that. We don't really need the split shot, but I'm going to put it on there just for safe measures. Well, we need to cut off probably the most viral bait in the fishing world right now. [laughter] We need to cut this puppy off. We are not using this today. If you guys want to see us use this here at the 10 pounder pond, let me know cuz I would love to do a video on that. And just like that, we got us an old rig here. Bobber split shot big hook on the end. That is by far one of my favorite ways to use live bluegill. I'll show us another technique and method and rig here in a little bit that we'll put on the spinning rod, but we're going to start off with the bobber rig and see what it does for us. But we need to get us Mr. Bluegill, man. Question is, which size should we choose? I feel like we might need to go right down the middle, man. Not too big, not too small. Just something right there in the middle. That one feels good right there, boy. That is not a big bluegill, nor is it a small one. I feel like that's a small medium right there. Oh yeah. And we just rigged this puppy up right on the back. As you guys can tell, when I used the bluegill fish, I used to lip it. And [music] what the problem with that is when a bass eats a bluegill, he's actually going to eat it head first. Therefore, the spikes don't tear him up. So, they usually attack like this. So, if you have the hook in the mouth, you're probably going to hook him in the back of the throat. And then I used to hook it on the tail. And I felt like that was a good spot for me for a while. But the thing that I realized is they actually have less movement if you hook them in the tail. But if you actually hook him in the top of the head there, right above their lateral line, that is [music] going to be the perfect spot to hook a bluegill. He's still going to have a good bit of action, but he's not going to be injured at all. That's going to allow him to swim freely. So, without further ado, let's go ahead and cast this puppy out there. I think we're going to roll him out just right there, right in front of that shade line. I feel like that's a really good spot for a big old bass. He's already starting to freak out a little bit, so hopefully uh we're in for a treat today pretty fast. But uh in the meantime, maybe we set this rod down and then we pick out our spinning rod and go ahead and tie up our other rig. So, what we'll do is we'll try this free line for a little bit. If we don't have any bites, we'll actually just turn it into a Carolina rig. And that might be some sauce. So, one thing that I do too when I hook these fish through the back, that's the line I'm talking about. You do not want to go past that line. If you do it, it'll kill them instantly. Um, so you need to be very careful with that. Also, when I put it through them, usually there's a few scales on the end of that hook. Make sure you get those off because I cannot tell you how many fish that I've lost because of that. I feel like this is the way, guys, to catch these giants out here. And I'm just so blessed to be out here today, finally doing it, man. I have dreamed about this day, and we're finally out making it happen. This one's gotten pretty slack line, dude. He is freaking flying. >> Oh. Oh, we just got eaten. We just got eaten. We just got eaten. Oh gosh. Holy cow. He got bopped. He got freaking slammed. All right, we're going to we're going to put him back there. Dude, I did not expect to get bit that quick, guys. That bass should come back. I was messing with this guy over here. He is running, by the way. Casted him up here originally, and this bluegill is all the way over here. I cannot believe he got slammed that freaking quick. Let's give him a little bit more time. He might come back for him. Gosh, I can't believe that, guys. That was crazy. We're actually going to just pick up and let's go towards the mouth up here. Got both of our bluegills [laughter] on here. We got a little dual wield action going on now. That [music] is a freaking tank. Look how big that bluegill is on the free line. All right, we're going to throw Mr. Big Boy out into the abyss here. Throw him more out in the middle. Put him right there. And then we going to take this puppy and throw him more in that corner. I feel like this is a good little setup here. Oh my gosh. Maybe I shouldn't have cannon balled him like that. Hopefully he's good. All right, we're gonna go on up here. Now, this is where I ended up catching our first fish that day and where Aub lost that monster. We actually hooked him at the same time. So, maybe we can get something crazy going on. Put him right there and we put big boy right there. I'm pretty sure bluegill just swam right up to that one. Probably. What did you get yourself into, dude? How are you on a hook on a bobber right now? Oh, he got me right away. He got me right away. Oh, yeah. That's a giant. Oh, come on, baby. Woo! Gosh, it took a second, man. [laughter] Let's go. I wasn't even going to make that cast, too. Oh, that's a good one. Oh, yeah, baby. That's a great start now. Come on, Sunny. Just got to land this fish, guys. [laughter] Let's go, man. Come on. Gosh. This all we need, guys, to get us started today. I bet you they're going to start biting like crazy. Now, sometimes all you need is just to get a fish in the boat to get that momentum going. That is a good high two pounder. Oh yeah. Look at that puppy right there, baby. [music] And that was on the smaller bluegill on the old bobber rig, son. And that is pretty that's a pretty good fish right there, guys. That's about a two. Let's say a two and let's say a 2.6. 2.6 would be a safe bit. That was a really good fish, guys. That's the type of bites that we want. And honestly, that spike some idea and interest onto how I can start throwing these live baits. So, this whole time I've been throwing out two rods and it's kind of been a pain in the butt. I've been fishing really slow. I set down the other rod, only put out the bobber rod right there, and I threw it in the right spot and he bit it. Kind of goes back to what we were saying about fishing normally, guys. Just fishing like you have normal baits. And that might be what we need to do with that bobber rig. We might need to just go put pitch it in some really good holes, some really good spots, and I think we'll catch some bass like this. Thank you so much, baby. That's a good fish to start. Not a giant, but we'll take her. Not the 10 pounder we're looking for, but that's okay. Got to start somewhere. Well, there we go, boys. That is one fish. Now, let's get Mr. bluegilly and hook them up on here. I'm thinking another medium, a small to medium shiz. [music] What is that bird over there doing? There's two birds playing with each other over there. It better calm down. Oh, this is not good, guys. I actually do not have many live bluegill left. A couple of them passed. This one dead, too. Jeez. [clears throat] All right, we're going to try it, guys. But a lot of this bluegill died. I tried to keep that air raator off and that was a bad mistake. I'm not gonna lie. I'm pretty sure the only one alive in there, guys, is that freaking big boy. We're going to throw him here. And I want to take a look at that real quick. All right, we're going to leave that bluegill right there. Let's see if we can find a couple lively ones. So, this is the only one that's not belly up. And I'm going to be honest, I'm going to release him, guys. Swim off, buddy. Swim off. There he goes. Come on. Here we go. That was the really big bluegill. I don't want him to die, too. I don't want to kill him off for no reason. Dang it, guys. This is not what you want to happen. We spent half of today trying to catch all these just for them to be dead. I know you guys are Oh, wait. Maybe I shouldn't be throwing them back cuz we just got eaten. We just got eaten. Oh, there's another one, dude. Oh, that's a good one. Oh, that's a good fish. It's a giant. Oh, look at that bass. That was on the dead bluegill. Of course, right when I'm over here throwing those away, dude. Oh my gosh. Okay, we might have found the good spot, guys. This one's bigger than the last one, too. That's a solid three three pounder there. Oh, yeah. I don't know. That's another That's another high two pounder. But that's a good fish, baby. We're cruising, man. We happen to get this one on the dead bluegill. And uh I wouldn't have thrown this back if I thought they were actually going to eat that. I'm going to be honest with you. That's uh if this would have happened 30 seconds sooner, I probably wouldn't have done that. But there's still a few bluegill in there. We can always catch a few more if we need it. But that is our second fish. And what a good one to continue this day with, man. Holy cow. All right, we're finally starting to get some momentum back, guys. That was a pretty big bluegill on that hook, too. It wasn't too small. That was a That was a decent sized one. Uh-oh, he's alive. All right, we have one that's alive. All right, and guess what, guys? We going to rig this puppy up and throw him in that same spot cuz that's two bites there. I don't know if you guys see his back. Right where we usually put the hook, he's got a little got a little lump there. He's not too lively, but he'll do. I mean, we just caught one on a dead one, so Oh, yeah. He's He's actually very lively. He was playing dead. We're going to throw it back right there. I don't know if you guys noticed that shade line's just so good. Look at that bluegill, man. Oh my goodness. Look at him running. That is the most active one that we've seen. There's probably more fish there if he's acting like that. We might have found the spot, man. Sometimes it just takes a little bit to dial in what you're doing, man. All right, while that guy's roaming around, I might as well try to get us a fresh one. No, guys, I got a hook in my foot. I got a treble hook in my shoe. [sighs] Ow, I'm injured. There we go. At least it's not in her skin. All right, this bluegill has gone all the way out here in the middle. I think we're going to get him up on this bank right here. right about there. That looks money. That's the cool thing is right here is a lot of shade kind of next down in the middle. And then we also have this whole bank that I feel like if there was fish in this area, they should be right here. So, what we're going to do is start to work down this bank here, guys. And one thing that we can always do is come back and hit this spot. Kind of give it a rest. Let some fish pull up to it. I feel like this spot is prime, especially for [music] us to catch two fish on two bluegill. Oh my gosh. Hit us again in the same spot, guys. Oh my gosh, dude. I [music] cannot believe that. Oh yeah, dude. [laughter] We caught three fish in the same spot. I was like, I'm going to come back over here and try it. Oh no. And he's still good. Oh my gosh. Are you okay? Yes. I I think you're okay. Holy cow. Oh my gosh, guys. Threw it up there and I'm like, "Hey, he's kind of going to the left a little bit." And sure enough, there's a big old bass chasing them. That's why. Well, dang, boys. That's three freaking fish or three bites right here on the spot. We only landed two of them, but there might be some more here, guys. I think this is a good hot spot. We fished a lot on this lake today and there has not been too many good spots, but this one has been consistent. Hey, whatever we're doing right now is working, though. Exactly what I was talking about. Just go into prime spots, man. Go to prime spots, make some prime casts, and let let the fish do the work, man. I don't have to work the bait in. I don't have to do nothing. Let's just put it in the right spot. That's what we're going to keep on doing. That wasn't even a big one. That was like a 2 and 12 pounder. All these fish have been around that size. Oh gosh. Oh, that's a monster. THAT'S A OH MY GOSH. It's a tank. Please stay pinned, dude. Please stay Oh no. That was such a good bite, bro. That fish was at least 5 to six pounds. That one hurts, guys. I'm not going to lie. That blow up and everything. He blew up on that freaking bluegill. Oh, that was a picture perfect bite. Especially after missing a fish. Just like that. That was just perfect. Oh, there we go. There we go. We're going to let him eat it for a second. [music] We're really going to let that fish eat it. I'm not losing this one, man. And there ain't no way. Ain't no way we're losing this one. That gator behind me is watching me. There he is. Oh gosh. Come on. Oh, his mouth is wide open cuz he got that big old bluegill in there. Oh, baby. There we go. Oh my god. It's still on there. Bluegill's still on there. Oh, come here, boy. We got a freaking train. Look at this. We got a bobber, a bluegill, and a bass. Yo, look at that. That is so freaking cool, man. Beautiful bass there. Still not a giant. Gosh, I wish we landed that big one, guys. That was a freaking tank. I feel like we're going to run into one here. It's just got to give us some time, man. Got to keep covering water. We're going to find a big one. There we go. Not a bad bass at all, guys. There's a beautiful fish right there. I'd say a two two and a half pounder. Our old bluegill sadly is um on a skewer and he is definitely done. I think he's he's done. He's actually alive, but I'm going [music] to put him back in the water. Yeah, he's done. I feel like we can still catch a fish on him for sure, but we do get a fresh one. And if we need to, we can always catch a couple more over here. What did I just throw in the water? I'm pretty sure those were my pliers. [laughter] All right, we'll slow-mo that on the screen. I have no idea what just fell in. Pretty positive those were the pliers, though, cuz I do not see them anywhere. All right, I'd rather you lose pliers than anything else, cuz I at least make those and I can just get myself a new pair. But what in the world? Something went in the water. Thank god it wasn't my sunglasses. Boys and girls, ladies and gents, it is day two. I was not satisfied with how day one went. We only caught three fish. We had a ton of bites and lost a ton of big fish. And that is exactly why we're coming out here for day two. And to make it even better, I already caught eight bluegills. So, we have eight bluegill in the live bay box right now, and we are ready to ride. So, without further ado, let's go ahead and take out one of these bluegill, get it in the water, and hopefully today the bigger [music] fish will be biting. So, the whole bluegill process this time went a lot easier, guys. I got about seven to eight bluegill in there. Not only do I have seven to eight bluegill, but they are perfect [music] size, guys. Last time we caught a lot of big ones that were just a little big for how the fish were biting. Today, these [music] are perfect small to mediums, and then I have one pretty decent one in there. Let's see who our first bluegill will be. There we go, boys. That is our first one. This one's not too small, nor is it too big. This is a good medium size right here. We have a couple in there around this size. The rest of them are just slightly smaller. But look at that bad boy right there, guys. That is perfect right there. Now, let's go ahead and get after it and cast out. So, I'm going to be using the same method that we ended off with, which is a bobber split shot bluegill on there. [music] I just feel like this is going to be our best way to target some really big fish and just more importantly have [music] really cool bites because I love nothing more than seeing that bobber go down when a big fish is chasing [music] it. Another good sign about today is I saw a bunch of big bass cruising around when I was trying to catch these bluegills. So hopefully that's a telltale sign that they are ready to feed. [music] Today is the day to capitalize, boys. We missed probably 15 fish on day one. Dude, that is not happening today. I'm not allowing that to happen. If I gotta let the dang bass poop out the bluegill, then that's what it's gonna have to be because I am not gonna lose that many fish today. Let alone we lost a couple giants. I mean, we lost a few there around 5 lbs. We ain't doing that today, man. We are straight capitaliz mode. All right. I feel like there's a big bass there. He would have ate it with the amount of time that we sat there. One thing that we learned in day one, instead of just kind of sitting there and waiting, it's like let's just fish how we fish with artificial lures. Let's not over complicate [music] it. Let's uh let's not move too fast, but at the same time, let's not move too slow. So, this section over here is where we had a bunch of really good bites. So, I really want to spend a good bit of time in this section. If [music] they're not biting here, I'm probably going to turn around, head to the pocket behind us, and that is also where we had a lot of [music] really good bites. So, I really want to focus on these big fish territories, these big fish areas, and just kind of live and die by [music] it, unless we have to move and find some new water. Throw him right on that point, man. Right on the point, man. All I want to see is hook her plunk. You know what, guys? I wasn't a big fan of it in day one, but we're just going to do it here. So, I have my second rod, which is a spinning rod. We actually were using it for some saltwater fishing, so I already Oh gosh. We got We ate. We We're ate. We're eating. We're eating, boys. It's gone. Hold on. He is flying. Do I got him? I got him. Thank God. Come on. Stay pinned. This is a good fish, guys. It [music] feels like a good fish. At least he is toting me, dude. Please stay pinned, baby. Please stay pinned. Right on that freaking point, guys. Oh, it's a good one. That's a good fish to start off with. Come on now. That is a great fish. He came off, dude. Okay, let's not get too ahead of oursel. Let's not get too mad. Just calm down. We're good. We're good. He just might not have been hooked that well. Man, that is the one thing with live bait fishing, guys. Sometimes it just sometimes they don't got it all the way. I mean, I waited. Come on, bluegill. I need to get back in there. What are we doing? We got a bite very fast, which is honestly a freaking amazing sign. We're going to throw him off that point a little bit more just down because why not, man? That fish got smoked instantly. There's got to be more. Oh my gosh, look at this bluegill. He might get blown up on, dude. [music] He is going insane right now. I get my whole dang sleeve wet trying to chase them bluegill around. I love that live bait box. I'm actually a big fan of it. But man, I need a net cuz I cannot see in there with it being all black. With that being said, should we rig up another bluegill on that rod? I don't know if that was good luck or what. Well, let's just set our rod down. Let's just do it. So, what I was saying is I got a pretty big rig here, guys. Like, this is for when I was doing a little bit of saltwater fish. And we got a Carolina rig with a 2 oz weight. So, this is a total different game plan than what we've done previously. So, this would be a bottom rig for a bluegill. And that could give us a shot if there's catfish in here. You know, Adah lost a monster of a fish. We don't know what it was. And it might be worth trying this. So, this is the thing with the bottom rig is this fish can't go anywhere, man. He's just going to be sitting right on the bottom. And we got us an actual circle hook on this one. We'll have to hook set at all. Just kind of reel in. I don't really hook that even on standard hooks with live bait. [music] Just kind of lean up into them. But we're going to throw him out here in the middle because there's been a lot of fish that stack up here. Especially on this hot summer day. I think there would be a good bit out there in the middle. Who knows? Maybe this is the way to get the bigs to bite, man. Little closer up there. Okay, maybe this is not going to work. [laughter] There is uh a lot of grass on that bluegill and weight. That's not what I was wanting, but I had a feeling that was going to happen with this massive monster of a weight. That's what I'm going to do, guys. I'm actually going to put him back in the box. We're going to save [snorts] him and we're just going to keep Warner out of it right now. I think that's Let's just stay focused. So, this spot right where I just casted, if I come out here at night, which I do every once in a while, I'll come out here and just fun fish. There's so many fish to stack up here in the middle at night. Now, right now, I don't know if they do. I really caught them too good during the day, but there should be some fish there. Oh, he ate it right away. That's exactly what I wanted to see. I'm gonna let him eat it for a second. Oh, it just came back up. So, that's why you got to let him eat it for a second. Let's see if he'll come back. He's got to come back for that, right? Dude, I mean, he slammed it right when I threw in there. There's no way he spits out a wide bluegill and doesn't pick it back up, right? Oh, I'm going to say I thought one almost got me. Oh, I got him. Please stay pinned, baby. [music] Not a big one. But that is our first fish. He flung our bluegill off. I'm about to say, I thought I saw something run underneath him and then I heard fish blowing up on the other side of the bank and he got it. Dude, he ate that thing good. You see how quick I hooks that, guys? And look how far that hook's in his mouth. Maybe that's Maybe it ain't good to wait, man. Not a monster by any means, but that is a beautiful fish for us to start [music] day number two off. And that is uh we're on the map to catch a big one. Man, we are on the board, Sunny. Just got to keep on moving. That was loud. Oh my lordy. Holy. Biggest gator I've ever seen in my life right there. You got I know the camera is not going to do it justice. That gator's snout is at least 12. That's a 12T gator. That thing is a double digit right there. Holy smokes. Hey, that's why you got to pay attention when you're out here. I mean, I feel like he's fine, but at the same time, you got to pay attention, man. That freaks me out. That is a prehistoric beast. He's watching me, too. Dude, that is the biggest gator I think I've ever seen. Bro, guys, I don't know if you understand. I've never seen a gator where I'm like, "Oh my gosh." But like, I got to take a dang picture. You can't. Picture don't do nothing. Nothing, dude. You can't see nothing on a camera like you can in real life with that thing. Geez. Y'all ever heard me say that about a gator? Uhuh. Nope. Once he noticed I noticed him. He's kind of like going away now. He's like, "Oh, you're fine." All right. I'm getting away from that thing. One, and two, this side of the lake is just not producing. So, we're going to head down, fish a little bit more of the middle section, then head over to the far end. I think that's going to be our best bet of getting some good bites. >> [laughter] >> Dude, what is going on with y'all? You don't like me here? I saw a fish swim right there. I thought it was a shadow of a bird. One just went. I got the gator giving me the side eye. Biggest gator I've ever freaking seen. Got birds chirping at me. Now I just need to fish barking at me, man. Come on, let's get it. The other day we had a bunch of bites. We lost three or four fish right there. So, you would think there would still be some there. That That's a prime hot spot. Maybe we're being dummies, dude. I mean, this point got us a bite. Literally the first right when we pulled up, we had a fish on that. Maybe we just throw up there and let her sit. Hope for the best. Oh my gosh. He's under it right now. Oh. Oh, dude. I have messed myself up more than anything today. That was a good three lb fish right there. Guys, I'm going to be honest. This bluegill is so worn out. He's actually still alive. He's barely alive. I'm just going to put him back. I can always catch some more if I need to, but I have a good bit in here. But yeah, he's just wasn't moving at all, and I feel like it was kind of hurting our bites. All right. I feel like the other bluegill, guys, was just getting so lethargic to the [music] point to where those bass just weren't aggressive with it. Multiple times we had a fish follow that one back, and that's because I believe if that fish had some life to it and was kicking around, it would create a reaction for that bass for them just to be following it back like that. I feel like they know it's dead. Not saying they won't eat it. I think they still would, but I don't know. There's a lot of bluegill on this edge. Holy cow. There's a lot right there. Monster. Monster right on my bluegill. He's about to eat it right now. I'm trying to get this backlash out or this little line that's driving me crazy. Oh yeah, he's about to eat it. About to eat it. Oh my gosh. There's two There's two bass fighting over it. There's one big one and one that's a decent size. Oh my gosh, dude. Oh my gosh. Gosh, I cannot believe what I'm seeing. Oh, dude. He is all over it, guys. He is all over it. Why won't he eat it? This is crazy. I only see one of them now. I don't see the other one. Oh, he's getting fired up. Here we go. Here we go. Oh my god. Okay, he just got it. [laughter] He just got it. Oh yeah, baby. That's a small one, though. That is so unfortunate. There was two bass on that, guys. I happened to get the dang dink. That was unreal. Look at that, though. That's pretty dang crazy. Talk about picture perfect right there, son. Wow. That is one of the smallest fish I've Okay, we're just being annoying now, buddy. We're just being annoying now. Mm- Let's not do that, man. Let's not do that. Okay. I appreciate the bite, though. Woo! I cannot believe that big one didn't eat it. There was two fish. There's that one and one that was about 4 and 12 lbs. Literally right next to I saw it at the beginning and then all of a sudden he just disappeared. I don't know what turned him off on that, but ended up getting a dang small one to eat. Screw it. Since we got our bluegill, we're going to put him back on. I don't think he's really alive, which kind of goes into our same situation we had a second ago. I'm going to actually throw that back in there. I can't believe I was working my bait. I was working the live bait so the fish would commit. That was the craziest thing. The biggest thing I'm confused on is how we've had so many good bites [music] and always this the always the good ones that come off. Ain't that the craziest thing? You think the small ones [music] would come off cuz they wouldn't be able to get the bluegill all the way in their mouth. We've lost more big fish than we have small fish by far. I mean, the two fish we caught today have been small. I know these big bass are all in here, guys. Just get them to eat on a 110°ree day. It's really what it's coming down to. All right, we're finally at the spot that I've been excited to hit all day. You know, yesterday we had a lot of good luck here on this spot. But I will say when I was catching bluegill when I was catching our fly fish, I ended up seeing a bunch of big bass cruising. I saw a few up on this bank and I saw a few over there. So, I feel [music] like this whole section here is just a good big fish territory right there. It's where we're getting all those bites. Let's see if we get a dead bluegill. He did last time. Here we go. Got us a good fresh one. We going to throw him out [laughter] [crying] right there. That's money. That money right there, son. We should get smoked. Guys, what a day.
