Video summary

The video begins with a vibrant and spirited opening prayer where the congregation expresses deep gratitude for waking up to serve God, emphasizing that He is all they need. The service transitions into a powerful worship session led by the praise team, featuring energetic singing, clapping, and dancing as the attendees declare their love for Jesus and honor His name. During this time of celebration, the speaker shares personal anecdotes about growing up in a sanctified church, highlighting how early exposure to God's goodness shaped their faith. The atmosphere is filled with testimonies of healing, deliverance, and the sweetening nature of Jesus' love over time, reinforcing the belief that God sees every individual even in difficult circumstances, such as the story of a nephew in prison who is experiencing God's help despite his past actions. The core message of the sermon focuses on the biblical principle of "first things first," drawing primarily from Matthew 6:33, which instructs believers to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness above all else. The pastor explains that when this priority is established, every other need will be added by God, eliminating the necessity for worry or anxiety about daily life. He challenges the audience to examine their personal lists of desires—whether they want specific partners, wealth, or status—and questions whether these worldly goals align with God's kingdom values. By referencing the lilies of the field and the birds of the air, he illustrates that if God cares for temporary creations, He will certainly care for His children, urging them to trust in His provision rather than fretting over material needs or future uncertainties. To practically apply this teaching, the speaker outlines three essential steps: spending time in God's presence through worship without asking for anything, dedicating time to reading Scripture, and engaging in fasting and prayer. He connects these disciplines with the call to present one's body as a living sacrifice and not be conformed to the patterns of this world, emphasizing that true transformation comes from renewing the mind. The sermon concludes with an altar call inviting attendees to repentance, baptism, and a renewed commitment to seeking God first. As the service winds down, there is a strong emphasis on giving tithes and offerings as an act of faith, trusting that God will open doors and pour out blessings, leaving the congregation determined to walk faithfully with Jesus through trials and tribulations until He returns.

At this time we'll go uh before the Lord in our uh devotional reading our scripture. We'll be reading from the book of James chapter 1. James chapter 1 vers 19 through 27. James chapter 1 verses 19 through 27 beginning at verse 19. Wherefore my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. For the wrath of man workketh not the righteousness of God. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and sl superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any man be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass. For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetth what manner of man he was. But whosoever lookth into the perfect law of liberty, and continuth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. If any man among you seem to be religious and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. May God bless the reading of his word. To all of the ministers and saints, friends, those watching us by live stream, we say praise the Lord. I want to give a shout out to Wednesday night Bible study. >> I want to tell you, if you're missing that, you are missing >> a blessing. Uh this this Wednesday, Minister Terry Edwards, she told us that God sees us. talked about Ishmael which mean God sees somebody that was born into a bad situation and God says I see and I'm going to help you. >> Yesterday I had the opportunity to talk to one of my nephews. He's in prison. They gave him a life sentence. I don't know if it's with uh with or without the possibility of parole. I don't know. He's been in almost 20 years now. But we talked yesterday and he was telling me, "God is doing this and God is doing that and God is blessing me and God is opening up doors for me." See, now he's guilty. He did. He did the crime and he'll tell you openly. But God sees him, Minister Terry, and God is helping him. So, let me encourage you today. If you find yourself in what seems to be an impossible situation, know that God sees you. and that he is going to help you. Let's pray. Father, we thank you for this time together. We thank you for your presence that we've already felt in this place. We thank you for that, Father. We pray that you would minister to us as we look into your word. We give you the praise. We give you the glory in Jesus name. Amen. Praise the Lord everybody. Amen. Amen. Amen. >> The Lord put in my heart the message he gave me was pretty simple. He said, "First things first." Putting first things first. Turn to ma to Matthew chapter 6 verse 33. Putting first things first. 633 says, "But seek ye first." Hey, >> seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Thank you. >> Say, "And all these things shall be added." You don't have to worry about the things. But he said, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness." The Amplified said, "But seek ye for aim at and strive after first all of God's kingdom and his righteousness. His ways of doing and being right and all of the other things that you need will be added to you will be given to you besides saints. As I thought about it, the Lord put it into my heart. Saints, we need to live as if we knew Jesus were coming today. We need to be rapture ready >> at all times. >> But we need to plan for our homes, our jobs, our education, our finances as if Jesus were never coming back. That's what I call balance. >> We got to be ready, saints. >> We need to be ready, saints. He's coming back >> and we've got to be ready. We've got to put first things first. Bobby McFro and the song said, "Don't worry, be happy." Prophetic word, I believe. Bishop, >> don't worry. be happy >> if we will do what Jesus said do first. We don't have to worry. We don't have to fret. We don't have to walk the floor. We don't have to stay awake at night. >> All we have to do is do what Jesus said and don't worry. Be happy. If we do that, everything else that we need will fall into proper alignment according to the word of God. I was I was thinking that we all have the list. Either we have it written down or we have it tucked away in our mind. The list and you might wonder what is the list? The list is the minimum requirement of what it's going to take to make me be happy. And whether we tell anybody about the list, we all have a list. And there's several questions about the list that needs to be answered. One, what is on my list? Ladies, you might have on your list. I want a husband. I want him to be 6 foot tall with a six-pack, handsome, good job, good car, lots of money. And brothers, you might have on your list. My list, she just walked in. Come on now. He scores. Yes, sir. [applause] >> And gentlemen, you might have on your list. I want to marry a fine looking woman, long hair. I can run my fingers through her her 10 inches of weave. So my wife, she cut hers. Now I have to run my hair through her quarter inch. But that's all right. It's still good to me. I want lots of money. I want new clothes. I want a good job. And on and on and on. The question is, have I Second question is, have I properly prioritized my list? >> What's important to me? Do I want stuff and fluff or do I want the things about the kingdom of God? The third and final question I believe is the most important question. Does my list line up >> with the word of God? He said, "Seek ye first the kingdom, and all of the other things that we worry about shall be added." Turn in your Bibles, if you will, to Matthew chapter 6, if you're not already there. Matthew chapter 6. We'll look at verse 28. It says, "And why take ye thought for rain. Consider the liies of the field how they grow. They neither toil nor do they spin. And yet I say unto you that not Solomon, even Solomon in all of his glory was arranged like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothed the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more take or clothe you, oh ye of little faith? Then it says, "Therefore take no thought, saying, what shall we eat or what shall we drink or wherewith all shall we be clothed?" Says, "For after these things do the Gentiles seek." This is the part I like. For your father, your heavenly father, he knoweth what you have need of, and that you need these things. And then he said, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all of the other things that you need shall be added." So he says in our checks, Jesus said, "Consider the lily of the field, he toils not. He doesn't have a job. He doesn't spin. He doesn't make material to make clothing for himself." But he said, "Yet Solomon in all of his splendor and all of his glory, all of his robes and all of his jewelry was not arrayed as one of these." says, 'I want you to consider that the liies and the grass of the field are here today and cast into the fire tomorrow. But then he says, how much more valuable are you to the father than flowers and grass? How can you worry about how God is going to take care of you, oh ye of little faith? He said, "And our God shall supply all of your needs, all of your problems, all of your struggles according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." He says, "Take no thought. If you are, if we are the children of God, if we are believers, then seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all of the stuff shall be added unto us. Turn in your Bibles to Romans chapter 12. Romans chapter 12. God said, "I want you to assure the people in these difficult and crazy times. You don't have to worry. You don't have to be afraid. You don't have to fret. You don't have to walk the floor at night." He says, "I will take care of my people. I will give them everything that they need. I'll open every door. I'll make every way. I will supply >> your need. It says in Romans 12, it says, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service, and be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> By the renewing of your mind, >> that you may prove what is that good >> and acceptable >> and perfect will of God. If I am going to put first things first, if I am going h to seek what God has for me, first I've got to change how I think. Romans says, "I beseech you. I'm asking you. I'm begging you by the mercies of God to present your body a living sacrifice." >> Saints, we've got to mortify the deeds of our flesh. See, my flesh wants to act crazy. My flesh wants to do whatever it wants to do. But God says, you've got to mortify >> the flesh. In other words, get the sin out of your life. Right. >> He said, "Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and and acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service, no more than what you ought to do." And it says, "Be not conformed to this world. One translation said, "Be not squeezed into the world's mode, into the world's way of thinking and living." We've got to be changed. And then it says, "And be ye transformed, changed, hasha, by the renewing of your mind through the word of God." We've got to change how we're thinking. We've got to change how we're living. said that we might prove that we might show what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Now, the perfect will of God, that's the goal. I don't know if we ever actually get to living the perfect will of God, but I am in pursuit of holiness. I'm in pursuit of righteousness. I am in pursuit of the perfect will of God. >> See, if we will allow the Lord to take us through that transition from being cornerally minded, cornerally thinking and changed into being kingdom- minded, >> kingdom thinking. >> We will put first things first. We will seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness and we will find that everything that we need in life shall be added unto us. So the question remains, how do I seek first the kingdom of God? If you're taking notes, you might want to write this down. Number one, spend time in his presence. Spend time worshiping God, fellowshipping with God. There are times when I spend time just worshiping him. Jaba, I'm not asking him for anything. I'm not telling him about my troubles, but I am worshiping him, spending time in his presence. Number two, spend time in the word of God. Said, "Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee." Sometimes we have to turn off the TV, the computer, our cell phone, and open up our Bible and get in the word of God. Thirdly, I've got to push my plate back. Spend time in fasting and in prayer. Staying on my face. We used to call it eating carpet. >> Staying in the presence of God. Calling on the name of Jesus. Interceding. I remember when I was a young boy, sometimes my parents and my grandparents would pray all night and I say, "Lord, please make them stop. I'm trying to rest. I got to see my cartoons in the morning cuz Saturday morning's coming around and they would be praying all night." And I remember my grandmother after a while she would do like this. She just slap smack her lips. She says, "Oh, he's sweet. It's so sweet. So sweet." And when I became an adult, I find myself in the midnight hours. Bishop said, "Oh, he's sweet. Calling on the name of the Lord. eat a carpet >> on my face >> like my grandmother and my grandfather and my mother and my father seeking the face of God calling on the name of Jesus. Show up for the fellowship of the saints. show up for Bible study, giving my tithes and my offering, seeking the face of God. Turn in your Bibles to Deuteronomy the 2 chapter. I'm sorry, the 28th chapter. That's that's what I meant. Deuteronomy the 28th chapter. Got to find it myself. Here it is. The 28th chapter. It says verse one is what I want. I'm almost there. Here it is. Here it is. He says, "And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently," say diligently, " >> Diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all of his commandments, which I have commanded thee this day, that the Lord thy God shall set thee on high above all nations, s of the earth. And all of these blessings shall come on you and overtake you if thou shalt hearken diligently. Ha, diligently unto the face of the Lord. And so here in the text, the Lord is saying, "If you'll put me first, if you'll seek me first, if you'll make me the first thing, if you'll trust me and obey me," the Lord says, "I'll command the blessing to come on you and overtake you. I'll bless you in the city. I'll bless you in the field. I'll bless you coming in. I'll bless you going out. I'll bless your fields. I'll bless your crop. >> I'll bless you when you rise up. I'll bless you when you when you lay down. And everything that you put your hands to will prosper. The nations will call you blessed. So saints, we've got to make it up in our mind today that I'm going to put uh the first things first. I'm going to seek God first. We've got to make it up in our minds that I'm going to trust in God. I'm going to seek God >> and his righteousness. and all the things that you need shall be added. >> If you need healing, >> seek the kingdom. >> If you need deliverance, >> seek the kingdom and his king. If you need a breakthrough in your life, seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness. If you need prosperity, seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness and his holiness and his salvation and everything else that you need is going to be added. it unto you. Nothing broken and nothing missing. I declare to you today that you can trust in God. You can believe in God. You can rely on God.
