The core of this strategy revolves around a simple yet powerful move set consisting of Torch Song as the primary attack and Slack Off for healing, with the latter being an egg move that players can transfer from another Pokémon using a Mirror Herb during a picnic. Skeledirge's hidden ability, Unaware, is crucial to this build's success because it allows the user to ignore any stat boosts set up by Meowscarada, rendering the opponent's Hone Claws moves ineffective and eliminating the need for an Intimidate partner. The recommended EV spread invests 252 points into Special Attack and Defense with the remainder in HP, paired with a Modest nature, ensuring that Skeledirge can both deal significant damage and withstand hits while maintaining its health through frequent use of Slack Off.
During the raid, Meowscarada will initially set up Hone Claws to boost its attack and accuracy, but these effects are nullified by Skeledirge's Unaware ability. The main threat in the early stages is Night Slash, which deals super-effective damage due to Meowscarada's Ghost typing before it can be crystallized; however, once the player uses Torch Song enough times to trigger a Crystallize effect, Meowscarada becomes a pure Fire type and loses its weakness to Ghost moves. After this transformation, players can safely spam Torch Song to deal massive damage while using Slack Off only when health drops too low, effectively neutralizing stat drops caused by the opponent's Shield Down ability and allowing for a straightforward path to victory.
Beyond simply defeating the boss, this raid offers excellent rewards including Herba Mystica, large and XL candies, and Ability Patches, making it an efficient farming opportunity for players who do not have access to the DLC content. The build is described as nearly mindless once the Crystallize effect is active, requiring little more than monitoring health levels and spamming attacks, which makes it ideal for clearing multiple raids in a short period. Hello friends, welcome back to the
channel. The seven-star Tera Raid from
Meowscarada is now live in Pokémon
Scarlet and Violet. In today's video,
we're going to cover all the details as
well as the best solo builds to take
this mightiest mark Pokémon down.
Seven-star Meowscarada will be running
in game from the 4th until the 10th of
September. So, if you missed it the
first time out, this is a perfect
opportunity to grab it in game and add
it to your collection. Now, the last
time the seven-star Meowscarada raid ran
in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, we did
cover a Scizor build here on the
channel. It's a really consistent way to
run through this Pokémon, especially
solo in your game, but it does require
you having access to the DLCs for the TM
Lunch. If you don't have access to that
option, we'll cover a build in the
minute that is available in the base
games. But, Scizor is a great
alternative. I'll link that video down
in the description. If you want to see
how to run through Meowscarada with that
specific build. But, the build that
we're featuring in today's video is one
that is available, like I say, in the
base games. So, you're going to have no
trouble picking this up as long as it
was your starter Pokémon or you've been
able to trade it since starting the
games of your playthrough. It is
Skeledirge, and I've got to give a big
shout out to one of our subscribers who
actually mentioned this build over a
year ago when the seven-star Meowscarada
last ran, and that was Law Squallor. So,
big shout out to you. If you've got your
own builds as well, always put them in
the comments. It's always good to see
and share them with the community. But,
this Skeledirge is going to be level
100. It has got all of its IVs hyper
trained. Tera typing here is going to be
fire. Has got the held item of shell
bell for a line of recovery throughout
the raid. And the move set is so
straightforward. We're only going to be
using two options, most of the time just
one, and that is Torch Song, which is
our attacking move, and then Slack Off,
which is an egg move. So, if you haven't
got Slack Off, it is an egg move. What
you need to do is go into your boxes,
find a Pokémon with Slack Off, put it in
your party alongside Skeledirge. Make
sure you have room for all Skeledirge to
learn a new move, so just forget a move,
attach a Mirror Herb item, set up a
picnic with both Pokémon in your party,
and then Slack Off will be transferred
over to the Pokémon. So, it'll be on
that move set ready to go. I would
recommend probably PP maxing Torch Song
for this raid. The EV spread is pretty
straightforward. 252 EVs in special
attack and in defense with the remainder
put into HP with a modest nature and the
ability here, the most important thing
is its hidden ability, which is unaware,
which is going to make sure that we
ignore any of those boosts that
Meowscarada sets up throughout the raid.
Should look like this once it's built in
game. As always, it'll be down in the
description below. We'll jump into the
raid now and I'll show you how easy you
can take down this seven-star mighty
Smaug Pokémon. So, when you first come
in against the Meowscarada, the first
thing on turn zero it's going to do is
set up a hone claws. That's going to
boost its attack and its accuracy by one
stage, but thanks to that unaware
ability that we have, we're going to
ignore any of those boosts, which also
means that you don't really need to
reset for an intimidate partner in
Pokémon because [music] it's not really
going to work like this throughout this
raid with unaware. Now, we're going to
open up the raid with a Torch Song and
this is primarily going to be the main
attacking option that we're going to use
throughout this raid. Of course, it is
the only attacking option that we've got
as well, but we sometimes might go on to
use Slack Off if our HP is a little bit
lower than we're comfortable with. The
biggest thing that is a risk at this
early stage of the raid is night slash.
We are hit by that for super effective
damage and it has a high critical hit
rate, so it can slow us down, put us in
a really bad position. If you do take a
critical hit at any stage, I would just
recommend going for Slack Off just to
recover the health we've lost and get
yourself back into a more preferable
position. But after that turn three, if
you get through that without any
critical hits and you're in a good
healthy position, you're going to be
able to crystallize out of that
weakness. So, you're going to be able to
turn into a pure fire type and you will
not be hit for super effective damage
any longer and those that risk of the
critical hits kind of slowing you down
in this raid are kind of gone. So, you
can see a really handy paralysis there,
which is useful. The shield goes up on
around 75% of its HP remaining or 80% of
the time remaining. It's going to
nullify stats on our side once in this
raid, but once that has happened, it's
not going to do it again, and it will
nullify its stat drops twice [music] in
this raid. That'll be 75% of its HP
remaining or 40% of its HP remaining.
Now, we're going to crystallize as soon
as we can, as you can see here, turn
four, we're crystallizing. Like we've
mentioned, we get rid of that night
slash weakness, and now we can start
firing off more of these torch songs.
Each time we use it, it's boosting our
special attacks, so we're essentially
getting stronger each time we attack.
Um, but we will have to set this up once
again, because like I said, hasn't
nullified those stat drops on our side
of the field. So, once that does kick
in, it nullifies that and our ability
for one turn, like you're seeing here.
Going to have to start that cycle once
again, but literally, that is the only
thing that we're going to see. Petal
Blizzard is kind of scripted, so 84% of
the time remaining, it will fire that
up, but again, it's not anything that we
need to be really concerned about. But,
if you're in a nice safe spot, like we
are now, we can just fire and spam torch
song until the end of the battle, and
any critical hits that you land, it'll
just speed the raid up. But, even
unboosted, you can see we're still
chipping away quite well at the shield.
But, here on out, the only thing to keep
an eye on is critical hit and your
health. If you get too low at any stage,
then I would just recommend just locking
in with a slack off. Just take the time
to recover. You don't want to get
knocked out once you have crystallized.
And otherwise, just spam torch song, and
this is just one of the easiest ways to
run through this raid. Scizor is a great
option. We mentioned that at the top of
the video when we were talking about
alternative raids, the one that we
recommended last time. But, if you do
have Skeledirge, it's really, really
straightforward and available in the
base games as well, so makes it a little
bit easier to get a hold of if you
haven't got the DLCs and don't want to
train up a new Pokémon. This is
something that you might have from other
raids that we've done in the previous
run of the seven-star raids. But, like
you can see, Skeledirge is just a really
[music] great option and for farming
this raid over the next week when it's
running for the high-cost items,
remember it does drop things like Herba
Mystica, obviously all those large and
XL candies which are going to be useful
as well, as well as things like ability
patches. This is probably a really good
build to bring into this raid because
it's pretty mindless. You don't really
need to do anything other than keep an
eye on your HP. Outside of a game in
lawn using Slack Off, you're just
spamming Torch Song throughout the raid,
so it should make things very easy for
you in getting this Meowscarada and it's
nice to see these Paldean starters
coming back as seven-star raid Pokémon.
It's kind of worried that we wouldn't
get these, especially after the more
recent seven-star raids that we've had.
And apologies for not covering the
Kingambit raid. I was away at World
Championships in San Francisco over the
last week, so I didn't really have an
opportunity outside of casting that
event to uh cover this that raid build.
So, um we're back this week covering the
Meowscarada and the Skeledirge. One
more, we're so close. But, like I say,
it should make this raid very easy for
you to to run through. It's just that
starting few turns where you're still
that part ghost type when Night Slash
can cause a few issues. But, outside of
that, this is going to be so so
straightforward with a Torch Song, Slack
Off as a backup, and you're going to be
able to run through it. If this is the
first time that you're picking this up,
as always, let me know what ball you
pick your Meowscarada up in. Think I got
mine originally in a Friend Ball. I will
have to check, but that feels like a
good fit for this Pokémon. And then it
is another one for that seven-star
mighty small collection. You would
imagine next week it will be Skeledirge.
So, two sweet Herba Mysticas, lots of XL
candies. I hope you have good drops like
this. And then, of course, you can just
recycle this den and run through it as
many times as you want using the dit
exploit in game but that is essentially
seven star mighty Smog Meowscarada. And
allied I picked mine up in a beast ball
originally so that a friend ball would
be a good one but I originally picked
mine up in a beast ball which I kind of
still like to be honest to breed for a
shiny Sprigatito whenever I get round to
