On Saturday, August 29th, Ember and Oaks in Pikeville held a ribbon cutting for its grand opening. The family space is somewhere parents and their kids can go to play, learn, and spend time together alongside helpful and enthusiastic staff. Parents that have been are already recommending it for birthday parties and other social gatherings. >> Oh, it's super exciting. I think things like this are so needed in this community and being able to bring my little boy here, Teddy. He's six. He walked through those doors and his eyes lit up. I mean, there's so many different things that the kids can play with between like fidget toys. I mean, little houses. They've got all the Melissa and Doug like wooden toys here. I mean, these are really good quality. You can tell that the owners really put a lot of heart into this business. I would definitely uh recommend this whole venue for parties, just coming out and relaxing with your kid, just being able to play. I mean, it's a nice, safe, clean environment, and you really can't say that about a whole lot of places these days, but we're very lucky to have them here in our community. And I mean, I'm already looking. I'm like, I want to book Teddy's party here for next year. >> Staff at Ember and Oaks are happy to work somewhere in the community that caters to the needs of families. They want to hear feedback from the public and make more additions later. >> There was nothing in this community for everybody, for families, for children. And this is something that the community absolutely needed and seeing the children get to play with all these toys and like all of our hard work has actually been put into something amazing. So it's awesome to get to watch this grow and come together and be a part of all that. We're like a big family here. We're trying to do a lot of community oriented stuff. So community events, stuff to get everybody involved. You know, this is a place where everybody should feel welcome and that's how it is working here. We'll actually have a book at the front where anybody who wants to leave any suggestions, any event recommendations, they can put on a calendar. Um, we're going to try and do a lot of birthday parties, a lot of smaller events like that. If anybody wants to suggest an event or suggest anything changing really, like they have any sort of suggestions, we're absolutely open to them and we will have a book for them.
