That was surprising to hear. >> I can't believe they freaking Babylon 5, the reboot to CW. Is is CW just the trash fire network that they're like, "Yeah, just throw it on there, I guess." >> Now that the atmosphere is hospitable to make Daxim great again. >> Dax was never great. I got to tell you, it was perfect. They've been around for a long time. >> Do you think they're taking a big risk here? Like this is their big gamble buy. Do you think they're having issues maybe or they have to really start planning ahead for the future? >> Well, Supernatural was the cash cow, right? >> Well, cuz that went for like 15 years, so it must have been making them tons of money. >> I think they only stopped just because they were like, "Fucking hell, when are we stopping?" >> I guess we'll stop now. >> Apparently CW Network is 50% owned by Warner Row, so I think they're fine. whatever they did, >> 50% Warner Brothers, 50% Viacom. >> Well, if nobody watches their shows, they probably >> W stands for >> they'd probably still be uh dissolved if nobody was watching their shows, right? And I think that they've lost viewers significantly over the past few years, as far as I'm aware anyway. >> I mean, that doesn't surprise me. Like, >> their lineup isn't particularly diverse in terms of like like if if you don't like shows that are made for like teenage girls, then there's nothing to watch on this network. Well, it also goes as far as saying I think that even the Flash Arrow and different things have all suffered over the years. Cuz when the Flash first came out, the show, I remember watching episode one and being like, "That was fine. >> Is this supposed to be a joke? >> You tell me." >> But nowadays, if you see the clips, you're like, "Fucking hell, what is this?" Like, what have you done? >> Right? Like, it's it's the network has developed a reputation for like really [ __ ] quality. And so, why would you want to watch? And also like I just pulled up the average ratings for the Flash. They started at 4.62 million and they're now down to 1.58 million. >> That is that is that is significantly lower. >> That's part of my thought here is that they have just they they've seen their numbers declining over these years and they're like, "Oh, we need we need to try and do something big. We need to really kind of almost make like a gamble buy." And so they bought the rights to Babylon 5. >> Did they buy the rights? So did Babel 5 is that owned is that owned by Warner Brothers or like >> maybe maybe owned by Warner Brothers television so they they using this as a big budget thing. >> Um no cuz they could do a HBO Max show if they really wanted to. >> Babylon 5 seems like a HBO Max thing but maybe I >> It does seem like a HBO Max thing. Yeah, but I guess if you've got this network and you need content for it, then Babylon 5 you're like, h, you know, like that's not HBO Max material. >> As weird as it sounds, I understand Buffy's reboot ending up on the CW. It's like, yeah, of course, but Babylon 5 is like that's a huge production. I don't understand. >> Are they going to give it a big budget? Well, that's the question. >> That is the question >> because I feel like something like the sci-fi stuff that takes place in space a lot of the times, you know, especially nowadays, like you could get away with Star Trek, the original series, and maybe TNG and stuff, but I think viewers are a little bit more they expect a bit more out of sci-fi these days, I feel. >> I think it's just television in general. I think uh the bar has been raised in terms of production values like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, all those shows sort of raise raised the bar. >> I was going to say like you even superheroes stuff it's can be difficult for CGI artists to get everything realized and as we saw with uh Infinity Tisms like they are barely capable of doing that. >> And I guess I think all of this stuff isn't particularly good but you just present somebody hey you want to watch like Falcon the Winter Soldier that looks like a movie or do you want to watch Legends of Tomorrow that looks like a PlayStation 2 game?
