Video summary
The recent launch update pitch notes from EA Sports have clarified several rumors surrounding FC27, confirming that while some Special Team Challenges (SBCs) are indeed missing from the web app at launch, they will not be completely removed. The primary issue stems from a chaotic rollout of access dates, where EA initially misled players about when the game would be available on different platforms. It was eventually confirmed that the web app for all users, including those on Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and mobile, will open on Wednesday, the 16th, rather than the previously rumored 17th. For Xbox users specifically, there is a distinct advantage as they can access the full game earlier by adjusting their location settings to New Zealand, while EA Play Pro members on console and PC will have access starting late on the 17th. This confusion has been acknowledged by EA, who admitted to sharing incorrect times due to absolute chaos during the launch preparation.
Significant changes are also coming to pack structures and reward systems, fundamentally altering how players approach coin generation in the early game. Packs are being renamed with simpler tiers like mini, small, baseline, large, jumbo, and giant, removing previous distinctions between common, rare, and premium items in favor of a bronze, silver, and gold classification. Crucially, the quicksell value for consumables like kits and badges has been drastically reduced, whereas player cards now offer much higher guaranteed coin returns upon resale. This shift makes opening tradable packs from rewards, such as those in Weekend League or Rivals, incredibly valuable since players can be sold for significantly more coins than before. Additionally, all Rivals rewards are now exclusively tradable, which is expected to fuel a robust Thursday trading market where early access players can profit by selling unwanted cards while others scramble to acquire specific high-rated players needed for SBCs.
Beyond packs and access times, the update introduces new features and adjustments that will impact gameplay strategy and collection habits. For the first six weeks of Team of the Week, the community will be able to vote on which player should be included in the selection, adding a layer of social interaction to the weekly picks. However, this comes with a notable regression for Icon and Hero cards, as their contribution to squad chemistry has been reduced from two points to one, making them feel less unique compared to Evolved players who can now create superior custom cards. Furthermore, the Gallery mode is evolving into a major progression system where collecting specific cards, even those not used in the starting lineup, will help complete sets and earn gallery tokens. This creates a "pay-to-win" dynamic where early access players or those with substantial coin reserves can build their collections faster, gaining an advantage in completing Hall of Fame player sets and unlocking exclusive rewards throughout the season.

Hey guys, it's Nate aka the foot
accountant. Welcome back to the channel.
There's some rumors flying around right
now after yesterday's insane overload of
information from these launch update
pitch notes that EA has removed SBC's
from the web app where a lot of us will
log into FC27 for the very first time.
Now, I'm here to spit the facts today
because that statement is technically
true. They have removed some SBC's but
also at the same time it is false. Now,
as expected, we're learning all of this
from the launch update pitch notes that
dropped yesterday. It was information
overload. And also yesterday, we had the
biggest disaster class I've ever seen
from the launch of a new Ultimate Team
from EA Sports. So, we're going to talk
about that all today, guys. If you're
excited for F27, drop a thumbs up on the
video. Subscribe to the channel if
you're new. Hype the video if you can.
And guys, remember, today is the big
day. We will be streaming the full game
of FC27 today, 9:00 p.m. UK, 4:00 p.m.
Eastern. We'll be logging onto the game
for the first time, seeing what packs
are there, seeing what SBC's are there,
seeing what objectives are there, and
really find out how we can get the best
start on FC27
in these next couple days. Now, speaking
of the start, guys, yesterday the
disaster class was with the dates, and
we have to talk about this to begin the
video because EA changed the dates of
when we'd be able to log onto this game
three different times yesterday. Yes,
the launch update pitch notes originally
dropped and said the web app wouldn't be
out until the 17th. We were like, what?
That's really late. And then it said EA
Play was going to be later. And then
they changed the EA Play trial again.
And we have different times and dates,
guys. This is what you need to know
about logging into the game. The web app
is actually on Wednesday, tomorrow the
16th. That is a dub. That's for
everybody. Xbox, PlayStation, PC, the
web app is for everybody. And that's
really, really good because if it was
going to be the 17th, that would put a
lot of us at a huge disadvantage that
aren't on Xbox. Now, that's good. Web
app is on the 16th. What you need to
know about the other dates is the 17th
at 100 p.m. UK is when all of Xbox can
get on the game. Guys, if you're on
Xbox, change your location. Take that
flight to New Zealand. That's all you
have to do to get on the FC27 full
version of the game at midnight New
Zealand time, which is 1:00 p.m. UK,
which is very, very early. Also, if
you're an EA Play or an EA Play Pro
player, EA was messing with those dates
yesterday as well. And the EA Play Pro
members can access the full game from
11:00 p.m. UK time on the 17th. So that
is basically midnight UK. I think that's
the same time for the whole entire
world, though. So it might be in the
later evening here in the US. That's
something to kind of just do the math on
for your time there. And check what it
says on your EA Play Pro app. And now it
is officially confirmed doing the
10-hour trial of EA Play, like on
console, on PlayStation in particular,
is not worth it because this does not
come out until after you'd be able to
log on to the Ultimate Edition pre-order
of the game as well. So, super duper
confusing, but we finally got there. Uh,
and I think the best part of it is EA
actually had to come out and say, "Yeah,
we messed up and we shared some
incorrect times, but it was just
absolute chaos yesterday." So, I think
we have arrived at the final times for
how things are going to go. So,
hopefully this is where it lands. I will
add one more qualifier. They might
actually change something for EA Play
because I believe that's what happened
last year. It looked like EA Play in the
10-hour trial wasn't going to be out uh
before we were able to log into the
Ultimate Edition and it ended up being
out early. So, we're going to have to
see if they changed that last second.
But as I've kind of mentioned, Xbox has
a really, really big advantage for
getting on the game earlier than
everybody else. Then it's of course um
you know, getting on the Ultimate
Edition at your local time, midnight, or
on the EA Play Pro trial if you're on
PC. But Xbox is getting on earlier than
anybody else. That's why if you do play
on Xbox, make sure you get that time
zone and that setting of where your
location is changed to New Zealand. Now,
let's get on to the FC27 news from all
the big details that we learned
yesterday, including this road map. We
were kind of waiting for this. It was
leaked a while back. We were waiting to
see what this road map of FC27 content
is going to be. Is this EA's like way of
saying, "Haha, leakers, we're going to
release some stuff that you guys don't
know about yet." Is this really even
that though? I don't know. At the same
time, because it is interesting to see
where some of the content is going to
go. It's kind of wide open in terms of
our imagination though because there's
some things in here that we don't even
know about. Like what in the world is
Hall of Foot Unleashed going to be? It
says new historic players. Are they
going to add new Hall of Foot players
like Daniel Sturridge into that part of
the game? Because we had some other
names of Hall of Foot players that have
not been shown in FC27 yet. We have a
new streamlined SBC update. We have a
live events update that's coming in
season 3. A new campaign that they
haven't told us about. And of course,
end of match rewards and custom gameplay
live events, which a couple of the live
producers that we interviewed in
Vancouver mentioned how they can change
the gameplay and put it into a live
event. That's going to be interesting.
So, that's coming in season 4. But I
look back at season 1, it is now
official. Future Stars is going to be a
promo in the month of October, and
that's crazy, but I'm here for it. I am
absolutely here for it. So, that's how
the pitch notes started off yesterday
with that big piece of news. Now guys, I
don't want to read through everything
that is in this pitch notes because
you've probably already done that. And
there's so much in here, we could be
talking for like two hours like we did
on yesterday's stream. So if you want to
go for more of an in-depth conversation,
go take a look at yesterday's VOD on
Twitch or here on the YouTube channel
under the live section, and you can see
all that conversation there. I want to
point out the five biggest points from
this article yesterday. And the first
one is pack changes, guys. Packs are
going to look a lot different. They're
going to have a new name. They're going
to have new structures because if you
see here in the rarity and pack changes
picture that they show there's different
names for packs. We've got mini packs,
small packs, a baseline pack that
doesn't have an adjective in front of it
that's going to have nine players.
You've got large jumbo and then giant
packs. So basically what we're getting
rid of is some of like I think the
prime, the premium, the electrum wordage
that we had before because there's no
longer base. uh there's no longer common
and rare items. It is just bronze,
silver, and gold. So, they don't have to
signify rare versus non rare. So, that's
going to change the way that packs look.
Now, they said in here that like the
likelihood of you getting a player that
is 82 rated overall and below is
intended to remain the same. So, pack
weight sounds like it's going to remain
the same. Just the names of the packs
and how they look is going to be a
little bit different. Now, one of the
things that is going to be different in
a good way in my opinion is the
quicksell values of the players packs.
Guys, it used to be the best packs to
open to get coins as a tradeable pack
would have been like a mega pack or a
rare mega pack because it had so many
items in it and so many rares. You got a
lot of consumables that you could sell
for a good amount of coins. Not anymore.
If you look at quicksell value,
non-player items, aka consumables, kits,
badges, all that stuff don't quicksell
for much. Players quicksell for way
more. The minimum quicksell value of any
gold card is 533 coins. That's when you
see a pack like let's say like a large
players pack with 12 items in the pack.
That is some pretty big guaranteed coins
coming your way. Even if you end up
quick selling half of that pack, that is
one thing to look out for this year.
When you're doing marquee matchups, when
you're doing other SBCs that give you
tradable packs, when you're even looking
at rewards across the game, the packs
that give you the most players are going
to give you the most coins for the quick
sale value of those packs. I'm also
taking that thought process into
Footchamps rewards. We got the foot
champs token store released yesterday as
a part of this article. And there's this
25 token reward here. A tradable team of
the week player pack. Let's say you get
nine wins in weekend league. You can
open that pack as long as it's not
restricted four times. That's a team of
the week player that's going to give you
10,000 coins minimum. You might pack a
card that could actually sell on the
market for more than that. But 10,000
coins minimum of a quick sale value four
times if it allows it again and that
pack is repeatable. That's 40,000 coins
on top of the coins that you're already
going to be getting. That is incredible
amounts of guaranteed coins from a
tradeable pack from Weekend League
rewards. That is, I think, the best
value pack inside of this. I know it's
kind of boring and stuff like that, but
coins are king, especially in the early
game. So, make sure you keep an eye out
for that. Also, if you're taking a team
of the week card, if it's 10,000 coins
that you're packing and it's a minimum
price card, you're also getting the uh
gallery score for that card added to
your club because you're packing that
card. So, it counts for the gallery. And
that means something as well. Same thing
when I look at rivals rewards. I see all
of the tradable packs that are inside of
here. And there's not a lot of them that
say they're going to be guaranteed
player packs. Actually, I digress.
Actually, a lot of them are because they
have specific ratings like 81 plus
player picks. and 80 plus times five.
But what I want to point out from rivals
rewards is it is entirely tradable.
Remember back when we had the choice of
rivals rewards, we had like option A, B,
and C where one was all tradable packs,
one was all untradable, and the last
option was a little bit of both. We
don't have options anymore. It's just
all tradable. And I honestly don't mind
that because Thursday trading, Thursday
flipping is going to be so back. That is
what I'm getting from this reward change
on Thursdays when all of us are opening
division rivals rewards, especially in
the early game in those first couple of
weeks. Sure, there's going to be some
supply hitting the market and player
prices are going to go down, but the
players that people want to obtain,
maybe some icons, maybe some heroes,
some promo cards, some of those
higherend players that they people
aren't able to afford in the very early
game stages. those cards are going to go
up because people are going to be
getting a lot of coins each and every
Thursday and through the weekends of
weekend league rewards after that
competition open up opens up as well.
So, a lot of changes to packs in the way
that they're named, in the way that the
quicksell value works and in the way
that we look at them for coins and
making the most coins in this early
game, which is how we look at packs.
Let's not forget that is how we look at
packs here in the very early stages of
the game. The last thing we have to
point out is we're not really sure, and
this is one of the things I'm so
interested in today as I log into the
game. We're not even really sure how
we're going to spend our FC points yet
because we're used to spending 7.5K
packs or using our coins or our points,
sorry, on 7.5K packs, which are 150 FC
points and usually give us between 2.5
to 3K of quicksell value. But a 7.5k
pack is probably not going to be the
same as it was in FC26 and before
because the way again they're doing
packs has changed. So that is the first
big thing. A lot of changes to packs and
rewards. The second thing is kind of a
fun one. Team of the week voting, guys.
From today through the first uh six
weeks of team of the week, we actually
as a community get to go to the ratings
database and vote on who we think should
be in the team of the week for that next
week. The voting opens up every Tuesday
and it closes Monday right before the
clock turns into Tuesday, two days
before or I guess one day before that
new team of the week would come out.
Now, this is really cool. They say our
vote counts, but you know, how much is
it going to count for? They never give
us an actual quantitative number on
that, but I could totally see the
community coming together on like social
media or something and saying, "Hey,
let's all vote for a player who has a
ones to watch." Because if you vote, if
the community voted in mass number for a
ones to watch player to get a team of
the week, that's a live card that they
would be giving an upgrade to that
everybody would be getting from the
season pass. I think that might be a way
the community could come together and do
something really cool. Now, we'll see if
that happens because of course this
community is huge and there's a lot of
people that wouldn't even hear or catch
on for the word about that. But I hope
that happens at some time during the
first six weeks. I hope the word can get
out and like the community can agree on
one player to put into the team of the
week just for fun like that. That'd be a
cool spectacle to be able to do. But go
ahead and go on the ratings database and
you can click on any card. The voting is
open for team of the week one. Um I
guess that voting is actually going to
close here pretty quick because team of
the week one is coming out tomorrow or
it may have just closed actually as I'm
recording this video. But uh that is one
thing to watch out for for the first six
weeks of this game. Now, the next thing
we got to talk about from these pitch
notes is probably the biggest negative
or the biggest problem, and that is the
chemistry changes specifically made to
icons. Icons now feel a little bit less
special, and the same with heroes as
well. Luckily, the icons still give a
plus one league link to every league in
the squad, but their nationality
contribution to chemistry in the squad
has been reduced from two chem points to
only one. And that's actually pretty big
because all you need is two chem points
to get one overall chemistry points for
nation. So like two Brazilian players
would give you one chemistry point for
all the Brazilian players that are in
that squad. And that's actually really
helpful for building hybrid squads with
icons. You can get some extra nation
links there. Not anymore. Same thing
with the hero cards for the league.
They're not giving extra league upgrades
either. But all of the heroes and icons
are on three chemistry still in their
team. I think the thing that's just
negative about this is that it's been
something that's been taken away from us
and it makes the icons and heroes feel a
little bit less unique and special. And
that's kind of the problem with them in
the last couple of years. I feel like
I've done less icon packs and hero packs
in the last few years because why when
evos are so insane and I can go create
cards and that way better and more
unique than some of those cards. Make
icons like more special again. EA. I
know they're doing that with making all
the icons 88 rated and that's a that's
cool. Base icons from the start with
refreshed attributes and play styles and
they're trying to do stuff like that.
We'll just have to see how it ends up
feeling in the game. There could be a
really fun situation with icons on the
market this year to invest in them early
if you do get enough coins though
because if this market has a lot of
coins from tradable packs and coin
rewards and the icons do feel special,
we could see a lot of really big price
rises in the first couple weeks in this
game. We will have to see. Now, let's
talk about SBC's, guys, because I saw a
lot of people going crazy yesterday
saying, "Oh my gosh, Nate, the web app's
going to be cooked. There's no SBC's."
Well, that's the headline, but it's not
actually true because, as EA said here
in the pitch notes, there are going to
be SBC's. There are not going to be
streamlined SBCs. The new SBC system, of
course, that allows us to just put
players in based on their score. the new
system that EA says is going to solve
some of the problems of SBC's being an
outdated system, which is very factual.
It is, that is not going to be available
on the web app from launch. Does this
have anything to do with those
third-party tools that EA don't like
people taking advantage of? I think it
absolutely 100% does. Now, they did say
that streamlined SPCs and the new SPC
system will come out on the web app and
the companion app later in season 1. And
actually, it only says the companion
app. So, they may not be on the web app
for the entirety of the that would be
crazy. I know a lot of you guys use the
web app like while you're at work or
while you're on the go in some way,
shape, or form. And if there's no SBC's
on the web app, that would be pretty
frustrating. I mean, on the companion
app is nice cuz, you know, when you're
on the go on the phone, that's cool.
That's there and everything, but
especially on the web app, too, that
would be a pretty big problem. So, we're
going to have to see how that goes. So,
there won't be streamlined SBCs from the
start of the game on the web app, but
there will be regular SBCs like the
usual turnin 11 players with chemistry
with a formation that sort of, you know,
legacy SBC system is still going to be
in the game. And we had the advanced SBC
details leaked yesterday. Now, this is
actually something to pay attention to.
I know there's not a lot of tradable
coin value here. All of the coins or all
the packs are untradeable except for a
group reward giving you 5k coins. But
this is something that you could aim to
achieve tomorrow on the web app. Now,
you're going to have to wait and see how
many welcome backpacks or returning user
rewards we get because guys, we didn't
have any mention of welcome backpacks
yesterday in those launch update pitch
notes. And that's actually kind of rare
because usually EA do talk about them
there, but we have no news of that.
However, if this is possible to get
done, which you could start planning
now, you could start going on the
football right now and looking through
the different players that you may need
to fill out some of these SBC segments
of three leagues and two nations, four
leagues and five nations, and then five
leagues and six nations. Looks like it's
three squads, and you get yourself a
group reward of the jumbo gold pack and
then 5,000 coins plus a couple of other
packs. I mean, that might not be a bad
SPC to try to complete. But again, will
you have enough coins and players to do
that on the web app? I don't know. But
that's one thing that we could be
getting done on the web app and you
could prepare for it right now and maybe
even trade around a little bit because
you do have to have players from the
exact league and nation and and if you
find some of those some people are
really good at this. Find some of those
players or those nations that don't have
a lot of certain players in positions
depending on what the squad formation
is. is now they're saying here 343,
4141, and 3142. So if you really want to
dive deep into making some coins, take a
look at that. Like 343, you need 30
chemistry. So you're going to have to
have three center backs in that team to
get that chemistry up as high as you
possibly can. So just stuff like that if
you want to dive into that. That could
make you some coins on the web app
there. But we are going to have SBC's in
the web app. Don't believe all the
headlines that you see on the internet,
guys. We'll just leave it at that. Now,
the fifth and final thing that I wanted
to go through in today's video talking
about what we learned yesterday is the
gallery. Now, I've even made a couple of
tweets about the gallery so far. But
guys, this is really the got to collect
them all, got to chase them all kind of
Pokemon. Honestly, I'm not a big Pokemon
guy, but that's what you think of when
you think of got to collect them all,
got to chase them all. That is what this
gallery is starting to feel like, which
is fun in a way if you want to go that
route because I feel like there's a lot
of value in it, but also it's not that
serious as well. You can still play the
game in the way you want to play it and
then just as you go complete the sets
and then grade them, but the more that I
think about this, the more you're going
to want to have as many cards as
possible, especially in the early game
in your club. And I'm even thinking
about here, like I tweeted at level
three in the premium season pass, which
everybody who's getting the game on
Friday for the ultimate plus or ultimate
edition is going to have the season pass
already paid for. I think taking um that
Elliot Anderson card instead of the
pack, which you know, last year I would
have looked at this and been like,
"Dude, I'm never using that ones to
watch Anderson. Not taking him. No use
in my club. I'm taking that 83 by two,
especially because it's tradable." Not
[snorts] this year because we know
there's going to be a ones to watch or
special card set of um you know in the
gallery a set that you could turn that
Anderson into. Also, he would fit into a
Premier League set inside of a
Manchester City squad and he's going to
have a higher SBC score and a higher
item score. SBC score and gallery score
is the exact same thing. I'm gonna have
to use that terminology carefully this
year. But that's going to be a card
that's very, very useful inside of the
gallery. And that's why all of these
special cards that I look at here in the
season pass and even as I think about
like squad foundations cards and
objectives, I think about doing SBCs for
players that I wouldn't really even use
in my team, but I'm going to want to get
them in my club because of the item
score that they're going to have as
special cards and how that's going to
allow me to level up in the gallery,
complete more sets, and then also be
able to get more rewards like these Hall
of Foot players. This is one of the most
motivating parts of the game for people
as they're seeing all the FC27 content
is how do I get Valencia, David, Duiz,
Loick, Remy, Jervino, and all
those other players. Well, by taking the
players early on that you see from other
reward sets, by doing some of those
cheap SBCs for players that you're like,
"Yeah, dude, that guy's never seeing my
starting 11." He's going in your club
for forever and he's going to count for
sets for the entire rest of the year.
collecting all of the cards you can
possibly collect is going to have and
give you an advantage on the gallery to
allow you to collect some of these cards
that you maybe want to really go after
through the gallery token store. So, the
gallery is definitely going to be kind
of like um on a power curve of its own.
EA is going to be slowing the
progression of that. And there are ways
that you feel like you could pay to win
to be completely honest. It's like if
you're going to open a bunch of FC
points and a whole bunch of packs in the
start of the game, you're going to have
an advantage in the gallery because
you're probably going to pack more
cards. You will pack more cards first
owner as well that would go into the
gallery that you'd be able to complete
sets with and level up your sets for
higher grades and of course your overall
gallery rank uh inside of the gallery.
So, there is a bit of a pay to- win
aspect feeling to this, but also at the
same time, if you've got coins, you can
go and buy players in that exact same
way. And we're going to be learning
about what players are going to work
best in certain sets. It's going to be a
whole new learning curve to the menus
this year. But, I think it's actually
going to be a big deal. I really do. So,
I'm trying to kind of think of it now
and get ahead of the game a little bit
and think about how these galleries sets
will be completed faster for those of us
that are getting on the game earlier
with early access by collecting some of
these early access cards that people
won't really be able to get through
SBC's or objectives otherwise that
aren't getting onto the game early. So,
if you're trying to like max out the
tokens and max out all of these hollow
foot cards that you want, really paying
attention to the gallery is going to be
the way that you do that. So, that's
kind of a a roundup of everything that I
saw yesterday from the launch update
pitch notes. There's a whole bunch of
other pieces of information in here,
guys. Like, you can now qualify for foot
champs by playing squad battles. Yes,
you heard that correctly. It's going to
be possible. We're going to have our
first gauntlet event on the second week
uh of the promo Destined for Glory. So,
technically like the third week of the
year, and it's only going to be two
rounds. We've got these cosmetic ones to
watch designs if you haven't seen those.
And speaking of Destined to Glory, we've
already got the first five players with
their overall ratings of their promo
cards that have been leaked. Uh, but
just one quick word on this. I'm
actually not loving the way this promo
looks. Like, sure, there's going to be
some cool promo cards, and if you pack
one, it's going to be more meaningful
because of what EA said they're doing at
promo squads this year, which I do like.
I'm really interested to see how that
feels as we get into this game. But the
way these cards upgrade
20 combined goals or assists for
midfielders and attackers.
Maybe Mbappe hits that and Bumo. Mateas
for no way he's hit that. Rogers maybe.
Estock probably not. This is going to be
like a live upgrading pack for these
cards that is going to go into the end
of the year like into May. We're talking
at the end of the Premier League season.
But most of these guys probably won't
hit that. And like if Mbappé is going
from a 92 to a 93 with that last overall
upgrade, are we going to care that much
at that stage of the game? Probably not.
It feels like some of these combined
goals and assists and even the clean
sheet objectives that these players have
to hit to get upgrades are just a bit
too unreachable for the early, even
middle stages of the game. I get it,
slower power curve and stuff like that,
but these cards are not going to get a
ton of upgrades right away. Maybe
they're going to get that first plus one
defending and physical for getting two
clean sheets. That's possible within a
few weeks, right? Or getting a combined
three goals and assist. That could
happen in one game. That's cool. But
like going from three of those
contributions up to 20, that's going to
take a long time. So that's the part of
this promo that I'm not a super huge fan
of to begin with. But that's just the
bits and pieces uh from what we got from
yesterday that we haven't covered in
today's video. If you want to see
everything, check out yesterday's stream
because there was a lot of detail there.
And make sure you come back today on
Tuesday because guys, we're playing FC27
